beta

3 and when to expect the next release along with iOS 16.1.1 in its recent editions and after covering the software side, we will discuss

iPhone 15 design changes expected next year, the dark side of Apple. Elon Musk's private streaming feature could turn an iPhone competitor into a YouTube drama and

Start by talking about the latest

beta

version of IOS 16.2, which is beta 3A and yes, we have an a at the end because we have our first security response update, so if you missed it, if we go into our General settings, you can see that sample 16.2. a and right here we have the quick security answer and I'm currently removing the security answer update because I've had a few questions about people asking if you can remove these security updates and then reinstall them after removing them and the answer is yes, I just did it to try and I'll show you again once I remove what it looks like, you'll be back almost immediately and if you go back to your settings and then go to General Software Updates, that's when you'll see the security response. update repopulate that software update section now.

More Interesting Facts About,

ios 16 2 beta ios 16 1 1 issues apple music coming to tesla iphone 14 delays are bad more...

I imagine that once security responses are really useful like this, it was just a test, which is why it was released in a beta, but once Apple starts rolling out these rapid security response updates, if you go to the automatic update section and you have this option activated. I imagine these updates would be installed much sooner than full iOS updates. Now I also wanted to tap on the live activities feature in the TV app specifically, so if I tap follow here, we have our live activity right there and on the lock screen and if we go to our settings, if we go to the TV here and then we go down to live activities and we have the most frequent updates activated.

I found that even with this enabled, sometimes these scores lag behind, as sometimes the scores are like two or three minutes behind the actual score, so this appears to be a bug in the latest iOS 16.2. I hope it is resolved soon. The reason I knew I was behind is because I was following this game on the ESPN app and had the activity live on my Dynamic Island here, so I hope that gets fixed, although it's nice to have this option for more frequent updates, but again it's still not available for third party apps, now talking about third party apps, I also wanted to mention that Uber finally added the option to toggle live activities, so it wasn't there for Uber, before it was there for ubereats, but now with the latest Uber update. we do have the option to toggle live activities, however I took a test ride and can't, just to see if it really works and we don't have live activities for Uber yet so hopefully that comes soon.

I see it as one of the most useful Features to use the live activities functionality, especially on the lock screen right here. Now I also wanted to briefly tap the scheduled summary and basically delete it from your notification center, so before in iOS 16 you just had to tap here. and then tap the X to delete it, but now you can swipe on this. You can see you can swipe all the way or you can swipe a little bit and tap the delete button, so that's really nice. I really didn't like having to tap the number and then the X and then delete which was a three step process.
Now it could just be a simple one-step swipe process as long as you don't have it turned on. Down here you can slide your finger to the end and it will be deleted. I've also been really enjoying the changes to the

music

al animation, which I didn't really think I'd do, it was a small change but it really adds to the whole experience. from the

music

app, the playback pauses on the next and rewinds the animation with the lyrics when you go down here, so when the lyrics go down and then back up, it's much smoother than in previous versions.
I'm enjoying that little change in the music here in 16.2 and now also one thing I've noticed has definitely changed. I talked about this in a previous episode, but I talked about how these stutters when I go home from certain apps seem to be fixed. I don't know for sure, but now after using 16.1.1, which by the way I'm still using on my main device, I still haven't updated to 16.2 on my main device, so I see that stutter all the time on 16.1.1. and I've really tried to replicate that here in 16.2 and I can't stutter when I go home from an app, so if you're in the app store for example and you go home, there's a slight stutter before going back to the screen startup which is definitely resolved here in 16.2 at least in beta 3.
I hope it doesn't appear again in a future version as far as the freeform app is concerned, this of course is the new Apple app here in 16.2 and I think Apple will have to do a lot of marketing for this because as of now, of course, you know I'm not in an environment where this can be useful to me anyway, but I don't see anyone talking about this in absolute. There's no hype about it, so I imagine Apple will start marketing this once 16.2 is released to the public. I'm sure they'll have a press release specifically about the free form app, but this will be great for those of you who work, you know, remotely with a lot of different employees, a lot of coworkers that you guys can collaborate on a big whiteboard essentially here, which may be good, but right now I don't see anyone talking about it.
If you've used the freeform app you know and actually worked with someone else, let me know in a comment below because I'm really curious how you're using this feature and then something I wanted to briefly mention that has nothing to do with it. with 16.2, but the Apple music app could reach Teslas, so if you have a Tesla, this was seen at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles where they have Teslas there and one of them had Apple music, so seems. that that could come in Tesla's annual Christmas update, which always brings a lot of new features to the Tesla, so finally Apple Music on the Tesla, right now I said I wouldn't talk more about iOS 16.1.1 in Apple Weekly last week, but I've been having some

issues

with it lately so I need to talk about the software once again, so 16.1.1 is the latest public version.
I think most of you are probably on 16.1.1 right now in terms of performance and battery life, nothing. has changed from what I said in the last episode, but what has changed are some bugs that I have found suddenly and I guess most of them also occur in the latest 16.2 beta versions, so the first one is that a Sometimes my widgets will just disappear, so this mainly happens with widgets on the lock screen, so they will disappear and not come back, so this happened to me twice, the first time I thought I just forgot to put a widget on my lock. screen but it happened again where one of my widgets would just appear completely, delete itself and I had to add it back.
I've never had that before, it had to be on 16.1.1 twice, it also happened on the home screen, but it doesn't. A new bug we've had for a while is that it disappears and then reappears after about 10 seconds, but a much bigger problem I've been having in 16.1.1 is that the focus modes just change randomly. they turn off by themselves, this is extremely annoying especially when I'm asleep it wakes me up from sleep mode and then I hear a vibration and a notification sound that I shouldn't hear because I should still be in sleep mode but every morning. now it seems like for the last few nights it's been randomly waking me up from sleep mode way before my sleep schedule is set, you know, before my alarm goes off or something, it's really weird and then of course I'm . having that stutter when I enter and exit an app like if I enter an app and exit it I have a slight stutter there so of course it doesn't happen oh it just happened right there so it doesn't happen This happens every time, but sometimes you will see the stutter, so a few times ago you saw that little stutter when I exited the Reddit app.
Now regarding bugs and iOS 16.2 beta 3 specifically one of the main ones is within. from safari, so if you go into Safari here, let's get out of this, if we go into control center and then right after exiting control center, we go into Safari to start typing something, you can see the keyboard lags there and sometimes it doesn't show up at all so if I do that again go here and then go right to tap you can see there's a little delay on the keyboard and like I said sometimes it doesn't even show up and then , of course.
I'm still having

issues

with YouTube where I sometimes get a black screen. I listen to audio, but I get a black screen and I have to exit that video and go back to it, and I'm having problems too. with rotation on YouTube it's going the opposite way it should, so enough complaining about bugs, let's talk about what's next for Apple, what we can expect to be released next, and why we didn't get a beta 4 This one last week was due to Thanksgiving, so of course Apple never released a software update on Thanksgiving week and in fact, in certain years, they also skip the following week after Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving, so 16.2 beta 4 I still think should probably arrive next week. here on the 29th, but there is also a small chance that it will arrive the following week, which would be the week of December 5th, but if we get beta 4 here next week, on the 29th, then we should get the RC right after of that. on the 6th and then we should have a final the week of the 12th and that's been my original prediction for a few weeks now so we'll see if that comes true and I don't think we'll see a 16.3. beta 1 until January, it is possible to get it that same week that 16.2 is released, but many times Apple just wants you to know to wait until January until they can release updates more frequently because after that final release we probably won't see anything.
Apple will probably be on vacation until early or mid-January. Okay, so now let's talk about the latest Apple news and let's start with an update on what we talked about a few episodes ago and that is the iPhone shortage due. to the madness happening in China now, this all started as a covid-19 outbreak inside foxconn's largest iPhone assembly plant in Zhang Zhu, known as iPhone City, and when those workers found out that the kovid was still spreading in the plants and there was also not enough food and medicine, many workers escaped from the plant to return home, it's almost like they were being held hostage inside that factory, but after this madness broke out, Foxconn started offering bonuses to plant workers to work. these iPhones, but no one was accepting their offer, so they had to increase the bonus significantly before the workers started accepting it, but the situation gets worse because then the newly hired workers who received that big bonus reported that they were not being paid the bonus that were promised, which led to some of those out of control protest videos that you know that you probably saw online and then Foxconn later admitted that they made a technical error with the bonuses and said they would correct it and now, according to Reuters, Foxconn is offering a way out.
Bonus equivalent to one or two months salary for anyone who wanted to leave and according to this report, more than twenty thousand workers have taken advantage of this and left with the money, so what is the main reason we are talking from this? These people quitting means iPhone production is going to take a massive hit, so last month there was a report that predicted production would drop by up to 30 percent, but now we hear it will be at least 30 percent. and this report also says it was impossible for the company to resume full production before the end of the month, a deadline it had set internally before Wednesday's wave of protests.
It's pretty wild, but now it seems that thingsThey are slowly returning to normal there, although as I mentioned a few weeks ago that if you wanted to get an iPhone soon, especially before Christmas, the best thing you can do is order it as soon as possible, long before you think you need it, because we don't know what the delivery times will be like in a month or Now, two months moving a little towards the iPhone 15, we have new information about the design, so, according to Camarón Apple Pro, the rear edges of the iPhone 15 could be rounded instead of square as we see on models 14, so these new edges go.
To be similar to the bottom edges of the case of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, it also mentions that the chassis will be made of titanium but the glass back will still be there, so it will be interesting to see if this happens as I heard the same thing about the iPhone 14, we heard that it will be made of titanium, but those rumors turned out to be false, so we are still in the early stages of the iPhone 15 rumor mill, so stay tuned for more leaks and rumors about this design. guys know about the private broadcast feature that is built into IOS as part of iCloud and what's more, this feature enabled an exploit that has cost advertisers over $65 million this year alone, so according to a new report from pixelate , the additional fraud scheme known as ip64 worked just as the scammers would insert it. iCloud Private Relay IPv6 and ipv4 or addresses in add requests to spoof the true source of traffic.
It is estimated that more than 90 percent of iCloud Private Relay traffic may be invalid and spoofed, which is generating advertisers tens of millions of dollars. Researchers suggest that the digital ad industry should block all iCloud Private Relay IP addresses as a defense against these types of attacks and if you want to read more about this it gets very technical. I'll leave a link to the report in the description below, it's very interesting and I think it's only a matter of time before Apple cracks down on this and removes this feature entirely or heavily modifies it, but it's likely You'll need a completely new version of iOS for that to happen, probably iOS 17 or later, so by now we should all know about the massive Ponzi scheme known as FTX and founder Sam Beckman released;
Apple is finalizing a deal for the book rights to Michael Lewis' up

coming

story about the fall of SPF and cryptocurrency trading platform FTX and you know what's

coming

next for the book. Well, a TV show or a movie and depending on the deadline, it is expected to be made into a movie. Michael Lewis, author of Moneyball, The Big Short and The Blind Side, spent six months with SPF before everything came to light, before the whole plan came out. in the light, so he knows a lot about the inner workings of FTX and a lot of things we don't know, which is why this book and this movie will generate big numbers.
Sources say the deal with Apple is around seven figures. since they probably had to compete with Netflix and Amazon for this project and finally do you think Elon Musk could create a real iPhone competitor because when asked if he would consider making a phone if Apple and Google banned Twitter from their app? stores, he said this. I certainly hope it hasn't come to that, but yes, if there is no other option I will make an alternative phone and while this seems like something to laugh about and say yeah right, I actually think this phone would have a chance of becoming very popular That's if it ever happens, which by the way I don't think it will, but the reason I say it has a chance is because of how well designed Tesla's software is, they already have a ton of extremely talented Engineers on board. , so if there was ever a Tesla phone, would you consider buying one?
It's a genuine question I have and let's finally talk about some YouTube drama through sponsored posts so I posted this on my Twitter and it was about my personal topic. take on everything that's going on right now and the main thing I'm talking about is a company called established titles that I almost did a brand deal with. I even show real emails here about what they offered me and stuff like that, but it's essentially No, I wouldn't say it's a scam, but it's a very shady company and I basically made a whole thread about, you know, some YouTube creators really just they chase money instead of their integrity and you know, the trust of the viewers and I was talking about how I would rather you guys trust me than make some money so I don't know what I want to talk about if you have any experience with the channels of YouTube they watch. which may have scanned viewers promoting FTX or established titles or Raycons or some of these other brands.
I just want to hear your thoughts on this in the comments below. I got a lot of good responses on Twitter. I'm just curious what guys, think about the whole tick and I'll link to that thread on Twitter in the description below and one last thing I wanted to ask you is if I turn this weekly Apple episode into a podcast along with a bunch of other topics and interviews. Would you listen to it? Would you tune in? Would you subscribe to that podcast? Of course, I would make it more of an audio experience so it wouldn't be so similar to my YouTube channel and of course Apple Weekly would be very different, it probably would be.
Like an hour, I'd go deeper into everything, but let me know I've been toying with the idea of starting a podcast. I'd really like to know what your guys think about this, so there you have it. latest batch of Apple news from last week along with some updates on the latest iOS 16 changes, as always. I really appreciate you guys watching these videos. If you enjoyed it as always, I would appreciate it if you would give it a thumbs up and also make sure to Subscribe so you don't miss next week's Apple Weekly episode, but anyway guys, thanks again for watching and we'll see you soon.
