What don't I like? I do not like. Hey, what's happening everyone? First, we feast. I'm Shawn Evans and you're looking at the hottest

ones

. It's the program with interesting questions and even spicier

wings

today. we're joined by

elizabeth

olsen

, she's an actress whose work includes everything from acclaimed indies like wind river and ingram goes west to the marvel cinematic universe and the mega hit show wand division which, of course, is currently streaming on disney plus

elizabeth

olsen

, welcome to the show thanks for having me and a long time ago if you ask me we tried the refrigerator tour a little bit but now it's the real deal yes I know you're an adventurous eater how are you doing with the

spicy

things that I don't want to? being too forward about how

spicy

I like my food but I think I'm fine with the promise to deliver it, yeah I think I could possibly stick with the bottom promise too, by the way these are great

wings

and I don't even know how much It's been a

while

since they were made because I guess you probably prepared them a little bit ago.

Greetings to Dom. Shout out to you, you're pretty good at keeping the show together, that's pretty cool, so Wanda's vision is this time warping genre. traveling show that parodies different decades and classic television and then I saw in your table manners interview that you talked about how it's like filming a six-hour project with the same time and budget constraints as a two-hour movie, yeah, what does that really mean? I feel or look like this in practice. I love all the different types of actors. Sometimes people come to work and had a great idea

while

they were sleeping, so now we have to rearrange lines and stuff for a scene, and that takes up a lot. of time and we didn't have that time so it was like chaos and sometimes we had to do several decades and a day so like wigs I'm always like a bald cat basically so the wigs constantly fly off and off and katherine hot and I just like doing vocal warm-ups trying to remember what decade we're in and it was chaotic but it was fun and we had a good time, it was really upbeat and then, did you have a favorite wand split? easter egg because speaking of catherine han i read that the house she is in is literal, like haunted house, yeah i learn about easter eggs when people point them out so the one i learned seemed really cool. it was like there's a bottle of wine that's poured and the first episode in the 50's episode and it's in french but I think it translated to something like oh god I can't say like family relationship or not but it's like It was like a crazy house or something like that it's a reference to m's house and it's like our shiny prop guy being cute and putting those things that I think of like he just thinks about them it's a nice color it's like a vibe Peruvian Okay, so I'm curious how to simultaneously act and produce on a project, like sorry for your loss, how it affects the way you look at the balance between art and commerce, like being responsible for the financing and everything that encapsulates a production.

More Interesting Facts About,

elizabeth olsen feels brave while eating spicy wings hot ones...

It changes your perspective as a creative, the understanding of the ridiculous amount of money that goes into things and that people should actually care and be kind and good in those situations because you should be ashamed of yourself if you show up to work. and you know everything the department heads had to go through and all the preparation and all the time and energy and approval and then showing up and not knowing what you're doing, I think it's really disrespectful and rude and um, I think that's already I've been in the mindset uh I loved producing everything from cr

a rig to mixing sound to color corrections I really enjoyed it yeah there's a lot going on yeah talking about yeah are you ready to move on here to the next wing yeah, it's a clear sauce, well, you know, until you shake it, okay, it's like it's activated, okay, oh, oh, I like that word, oh, cool, it looks like a pepper bomb, this kind of thing , guys, I'm actually getting nervous, but No, I'm like I'm panicking inside my chest right now, it's like waiting for me to get scared, that's spicy, you feel it, it's like a jump from here, yes, yes, I know you did a semester at the Moscow art theater school. like a preference or a method that you think is more effective between Stanislavski's art of experimentation versus Chekhov's organic acting, that's very funny, so when I went to the Moscow art theater school they believed that they continued the training of Stanislavski as if it were not so. stop and die with it is a very strange program for an American first semester it was very different but it was an incredible experience I like how you do it I like it don't you know that Atlantic theater company that would like to roll their eyes if you ?

I like sensory memory, I just don't know, it's really fun to go to acting school. I went to several acting schools because everyone makes fun of each other. Yeah, well, what do you think is the strangest and most unique acting exercise out there? Have you ever done it as part of a conservatory program? I just like to have a memory. There is an oh oh. I have a good one. It's called Fitzmorris work and it's a vocal technique and it basically involves getting into positions where your body vibrates. like um holding similar versions of yoga poses or like you're on your back like holding your legs in ways and your body is supposed to vibrate and then you're supposed to let your voice respond to that vibration and so everyone just um is on. a room basically making orgasm sounds and it's and then some people have major breakdowns um since the acting school launch it's weird I still have a tingle but I'm not mad at myself I'm still high that's like a sweetness in smoke and a sweetness we call it the official unofficial sauce of summer, you know, it's like a slow cooked meat situation or a roasted vegetables situation, yeah, like with some shredded meats or something.

I can do it? It's okay, I'm okay, it's okay. I'm getting really anxious right now and I wish I wasn't. So you have a reputation for being obsessive about your prep work and I've never heard an actress so funny. I actually talk about the audition process in as glowing terms as you do. I think most of your colleagues would describe it as the worst part of the business. Why are you happy to audition? Some things. There's something really special about having ownership of a character that no one else has an opinion on yet and I think it's a nice moment for an actor and it's also like an absurd situation, it's a lot of fun, it's a lot like being in an audition.
Have you ever gone to auditions? or do you ever do acting stuff, well I don't act, but one time they were like rebooting trl, like when mtv was rebooting trl, yeah, they made me go in there and like that old studio in Time Square and stand on one thing and like and there were other people waiting their turn, yes, other people waiting and then like at the big long table, with all the people not making any kind of poker faces, yes, exactly until the end and then just saying and when we get there. back we're giving away two tickets to the mtv beach house you don't want to miss it trl I'll be right back just doing a bunch of that stuff did you want to get the job?
No, that's my only real experience. OK? Now also when I first get the chance to audition, I hate taped auditions, they feel so stupid, but when I go to audition, which doesn't happen that often, but I enjoy it when it happens, it's like a day where you're going to do your work. What do you like to do apparently I don't know so that's how I feel about it this red haired goat boy the

who look me straight in the eyes like tropical there's a little bit of pineapple in that ginger ginger is fine elizabeth we also have a recurring segment on our show called explains that graham, where to do a deep dive on our guest Instagram, pulls out interesting images that need more context challenging for you, since you have completely exiled yourself from social media, I did it, how did you do it, you can go to the gettys they know we have a login and everything is fine so we have a workaround but I'm curious what their internal calculations are like the cost benefit analysis of having Instagram.
I think the benefit is for real projects that are difficult to do. verbalize um or come out non-verbally but how is it not difficult to verbalize but how difficult is it to get the word out into the world I think it's a huge benefit and I think everything else is detrimental that makes sense to me well let's dive into The Wires should we ?, you once described it, you summarized your experiences at Comic Con, they always move, can you unpack that, oh, that was, that was a very nice thing of me to say, I think I was surprised, so I was my first time ?
Comic Con where you like to sit and sign things. I wasn't really looking forward to it and I thought it was a bit of a strange position to put yourself in a vulnerable place where you like meeting a group of strangers. What I loved about it is it was this place where people were so kind to each other, they were all coming together for the same thing that they love and I thought it was touching, yeah, I think any kind of thing that brings people together like that, I think it's charming. In the world, we're just looking for a story of shenanigans at a fashion show and all your experiences, like have you ever witnessed a public tantrum of someone who was hoping for a front row seat and didn't get it or was I a part of it? one of the craziest things I've ever seen in my life and I'm not going to name the design company, it was the security guard, like the person who ran the whole company, not like the designer was attacking Naomi Watts to make her move as if it were not there.
And so it was, and Jessica Chastain elbowed him and got in the security guy's face and other security guys came and then when the lights went out, the guy who owned the company was there and everyone acted like it was nothing. would have happened It was so strange, it was so exciting, it was very strange, I'm salivating so much right now, uh-oh, sugar juice, isn't it too slow? Yeah, okay, I knew it was a bad idea, so besides today's flight. of wings, I've seen you

eating

gourmet cheeses with Bradley and then, of course, chatting with Jessie Ware and her mom over Lebanese lamb on table manners, you know, even for someone who's given up on social media, you seem to have fingers on the pulse.
Internet a little oh, where does that impulse come from? oh my god, if I could capture that and send it to all my friends, I would appreciate it. I have my finger on the pulse, my friends really have their finger on the pulse, although you I made wild boar ragout with Eric. I fixed it and I've seen you say you're impressed by Tom Cocchicio. What do you think is this cookbook that everyone should have in their kitchen? I just received the old buco. cookbook that has recipes from all their different chefs over the years just to also learn about the restaurant if you are a fan of ibuko you are a fan of el bucco i am a fan of elbuko does that mean i troll them and i want so you like hurting them no, no, like the way you bleed Dodger Blue, yeah, yeah, yeah, like you're more than a fan, yeah, sick, buco, I'm 32 and I've spent like half my birthdays in this planet in Ilbucco, well, then like me.
I guess it's only fair that you have the cookbook. Are you ready to move forward? Yes, I'm Elizabeth Olsen, next up. You're doing great here, by the way, this is spicier than me at number seven. Shout out, my friend, I'm having fun, it's okay. that's a scary image is that a brain or a heart that's a good question they're actually telling us something hmm that one like really wants to surprise you from the beginning, make sure you're ready because it even comes a little bit Behind that, okay, but it really gets you, oh, I see so mechanically what was the most challenging aspect of filming a movie like Silent House, which had to appear as one long tape, because it's so long behind me, it was one of the worst experiences. of my life it was horrible having to be in most of a horror movie like screaming tears crawling on the floor I had bruises all over my legs I had a sinus infection from all the tears because I always have runny nose before tears right? now and it was just brutal if that was the first movie I had seen, I would have gone back to the movies, I wouldn't want to make another movie, can you give us a production problem or a stroke of bad luck on the set of Ingrid Gos? west, I heard you describe yourself as surprised by how well it turned out, oh my gosh, yeah, where should we start?
One of the locations that Aubrey Plaza had, who is a great guest on this, she had to be sitting on the floor crying. It wasn't secured, so when they got there there were squatters and human feces, so they had to clean that up and then while everyone was in hazmat suits, Aubrey was like laying on that floor, I mean, our director crashed into a glass wall andhad to go to the At the hospital we had a fire, we had to evacuate, but we couldn't evacuate until we were sure we were going to receive the insurance money.
It was a crazy logistical nightmare, it was crazy and Matt Spicer did an incredible job. I really loved seeing it. that movie at Sundance because I was so confused about how we did it this is like a back to back situation and it makes me cry I guess and sweat welcome to the hot experience this is a great idea guys this is a great concept and it's so it's a great show to watch. the reputation of this one precedes it a bit, well I don't even like that, yeah no one does, at least the rest of us like to like nice flavors, but that It was offensive, it's like there's like it's not even joy, it's like they're trying to scare people and make their shining moment on this show, how do they know?
Oh my gosh, under my tongue, that's really weird and then this is where I'll say. Be careful with your eyes, you know, because sometimes you might get a little sweaty around your face. No, I'll just use the napkin. Oh my god, I've never had spice under my tongue before. What don't I like?
