home

I saw it there. The first thing I did was cut the threads at the top and then I'm going to I'll be using scrapbook paper that I bought at Hobby Lobby and I'm just going to trace around my signs and cut them out, so I'm going to do this for all four signs. Next, I'll use matte. Mod Podge and I'm going to put a little bit on my sign and then I'm going to put the paper on top. Now it's a trick I like to do and it looks like I didn't do it here. Waiting for it to dry completely before putting on the top coat, that helps prevent bubbles, so make sure to let the bottom coat dry before applying the top coat.

Next, I'll use these Waverly stencil letters and some white. Waverly Chalk Paint. I've actually used these letters quite a bit and I really think you know they're pretty. You're only going to apply two coats and I'm spelling the H, the M and the e in the middle of the signs. now I'm using a detail brush here and I'm just filling in those lines. This is a personal preference for me. You might like the way it looks. I like them best filled to connect all my signs. I'm going to hot glue them. edges together to really reinforce it.

I'm going to use a little bit of e6000 along the edges. I'm also going to add a little bit of e6000 to some popsicle sticks and this, once it dries, we're going to leave it nice and hold it in place. You might be curious what we're going to do with the O, so I'm going to take that same wreath shape and some small pieces of lamb's ear and just stick them into my wreath shape and hot glue them a little bit. I don't have to hot glue each one and then to attach them to the middle I'm just going to use a little bit of hot glue and put it on my sign and this is still hanging in my piano room and I love the way it looks.

So below I'll show you how you can transform the door of a dollar cabinet you have on hand. You can pick it up at restoration so the first thing I'm going to do is use some wood filler and I'm filling in the holes where you would put the handle once it has a chance to dry just go back and sand off the excess so it's ready to paint next. I'm going to use this color Moss from Waverly that I really enjoyed. this color this year I think is popular and fresh for the year and I'm just going to use my brush and make sure I get the edges and then I'm also going to go back and paint the whole front with After two coats, I'm going to wet this dress and this paint I wanted come off and sometimes that's fun, it just depends on what style you're going for, but I went with it.
I removed as much paint as I wanted. and then let it dry for a minute. Next, I'm using this

home

sweet home decal that you can pick up at Dollar Tree and I'm going to put it in the middle of my frame. Now I wanted to make this functional so I grabbed some of these hooks from Amazon and I'll link them in the description box if you're interested in them and I just attached them to the bottom and it turned it into a really functional hanging system that you can use in your foyer or by the front door and I find that Amazon is the cheapest place for these hooks.
You could also use something like this from Dollar Tree if you didn't want to buy the hooks from Amazon and the fact that I just put in a regular picture hanger. to hang it and this is how it looks. I think it is a very fun, easy and inexpensive hanging system. My most popular video this year had to have been this watch. You guys loved it. I bought it at the thrift store for five dollars. I'm going to tape around the clock face so I don't mess that up. Next time I'm going to use my favorite color, which is Annie Sloan Duck Egg, it's that perfect blue color and I'm going to make two.
Next, I'll layer the entire piece. I'm going to let it dry and then remove the tape once it has a chance to dry for about an hour or two. I like to go back in and get distressed. I'm wet, distressing this. piece, so I just take a damp cloth and I'm going to remove paints in the corners and around the edges and this is a personal preference, you know, if you don't like a lot of stress, do it a little bit or not at all, you don't have to worry a lot, that's the fun part, it's whatever your personal preference is and I still have this in my room and I love it, our next project was in that same video so I bought for a dollar fifty this little letter holder and I thought which would be perfect for spring, maybe with some flowers, so I'll paint it the same duck egg blue color once it has a chance to dry.
I'm going to wet this piece too, each piece is different. You know, sometimes you really have to remove paint and this was one I did. You know, sometimes things just don't want to wet very well. I have this. basket at Dollar Tree and I really wanted to use the wiring in it to attach my piece so the first thing I did was just cut a long straight portion of the basket and these baskets are pretty flimsy so with a good pair of scissors kitchen you can cut it out perfectly below. I looked at my measurements and cut it because I basically wanted to slide it in from the top, so I'm just looking at cutting it until it fits. place and then to fix it I just added a little bit of hot glue on the back now you can put any type of flowers here.
I picked up these tulips at Walmart, they were $3, I thought it was a great deal and just swiped on them. from the group they were in and I put them in my container that I made and I know it's a little bit different and unexpected and that's why I think I like this. I think it's just a fun little spring accent, so then I found this box at a flea market and loved the construction of it. I thought it was a great deal. I probably bought it for between 10 and 15 dollars. I wanted it to look aged, so what I did was buy some of my acrylic paints.
I have a black and a gray. and a brown and I'm going to use them to put them as a base under the colors, so I'm just going to take a dry brush and just add and paint around the edges where I know I'm going to wear away. and you'll be able to see those paint colors below. I'm going to use a little bit of this Vaseline and you can use it when you paint over it, the paint doesn't stick so it's very easy for you to wet the scuff after you're done painting so I'm going to take this and add it to the edges of my piece so that it is really chipped after I paint it next.
I'll just use white. Waverly paint and I'm just going to apply a coat of paint on top. I want this to be a country house. I want it to have a very worn look so I'm trying to make it look as worn as possible being a new piece like it's okay so next I'm going to go in and start removing that paint. I'm going to focus on those areas where I put the Vaseline because that should really stain the paint and remove it. in those areas I love to paint and add and remove paint until I get the desired look.
I think it's a lot of fun, so keep working with a piece if you're not happy with it until you get the look you want. Looking around and to finish mine off I added some of these popular Lantz from Ikea that I love and I think just sitting on my dining room table I think it looks great so this next project is actually a recent project so you're You will need four of these shelves which you can pick up at Dollar Tree. You will also need a trash can from Dollar Tree. I'm cutting off the top and bottom of the trash can so I have one long piece to use next.
I'm going to take that little cardboard that was on those hexagon shelves and use that as my template so I can cut around the wire. Then I'll use those lines and just cut out each of the hexagons. and I'm going to do that for all four of us to have a backup. Now I'm going to check it and make sure it doesn't have anything extra hanging over the edge. If I do, I'll just trim it. and you should be able to cut this with a normal pair of scissors. From there, I'm just going to add a little bit of hot glue to the back and then clip the wire to the back where I hot glued it.
You can also add an extra hot glue on top to really keep it in place, so repeat that for my four tents below, I decided on a configuration where I wanted them to be on the wall and I'm just going to hot glue them on You could add anything on these shelves which I decided to use with a boxwood garland I had purchased at Hobby Lobby. I also decided on a couple of these succulents from Dollar Tree and all I'm going to do is just hot glue them to the bottom, I think this piece would look great in a bathroom or anywhere on the wall.
The next project is very simple but very fun, so I bought this $1 rug from Dollar Tree. I love the design and I also love that it has fringes on the edge. so I'm going to make a lumbar support type pillow that you can put like on a chair and I'm just going to fold it so the wrong sides are together and then to hold it in place I'm not even going to sew it, I'm literally going to use hot glue to keep it in place and I'll do it on both sides now with the open side being the side I'm going to use to stuff the pillow.
Once the hot glue has dried I use this extra snow that I picked up at Joanne's when it was on sale, but you can use anything if you have filling from another pillow, just use what you have on hand and you want to fill it enough that you don't have any strange lumps and make sure to flatten it out so everything looks nice. Next, I'm going to use this fabric glue stick from Sher Bhandar and I'm just going to hold it in place to close it and For a dollar I have an adorable pillow, so for the next project I bought this table at a garage sale for 15 dollars , I think it was really natural wood like this.
I love how it looked. I just wanted to modify it a little to make it. It fits more with my

decor

ation. I didn't really like the top. I decided I was going to add a little bit of extra paint to this, so I'm just using some Waverly Moss Green and I'm just dabbing this paint on lightly. Next, I'm going to use a damp rag on the top of this table and remove most of the paint. I want this to be a subtle wash. I don't want it to have a ton of paint on it, so I'm going to do that.
Continue on the front of my table doing the same step. I really wanted to show a lot of natural wood because I thought it was a cool character in this piece, so that was my point and not painting it completely. I really wanted you to be able to see the natural wood so I'm going to repeat this same step with the Silver Lining paint and the fun thing about painting is just using whatever color works for you so I'm going to add a little bit of brown to my moss and just to give me a deeper green look and everything I do on this table I'm just going to blend it together so it fits perfectly.
I love how it fits better with my

decor

. Next is a planter that I haven't made for a long time. ago and I bought this pot for 75 cents at the thrift store, the first thing I'm going to do is paint it with two coats of Waverly ink. I picked up some scrapbooking paper at Hobby Lobby that I'm going to use for this project, so I'm just going to hold the paper up and it's going to go in this insert portion, so I'm just going to measure it, fold the paper so that I have a nice clean line and then I'll cut the paper.
I will repeat this step because I need enough paper to have another strip. Then I'm going to use my Mod Podge mat and place it all over the center and then fold the paper and then use the Mod Podge to hold it in place now I decided it would look better by not putting the Mod Podge on top so I just let it dry for complete. I added it to some plans and I think it looks adorable sitting down now, next project is bar stools that I made for my kitchen, so in catering you can usually buy bar stools for about five dollars, so I bought a set of three and I'm just painting them with two coats of Waverly white chalk paint if you've ever painted bar stools or chairs.
It took me a while to paint all the axles, but in the end I really think it was worth it, so next I did the two coats with Waverly white chalk paint. I really wanted them to be worn out, so I went after them and just took them all off. the paint really went around the edges and if you don't have a power sander you can sand it by hand but it is much easier and I use my power sander all the time if you are making a set of chairs or bar stools. Make sure you put them next to each other so that they look more or less similar and you don't get too much paint removed and the other one doesn't haveso much.
Next, I'm going to use some Annie Sloan dark wax and I'm going to use that around the edges, this will really help me deepen my look, make the wood underneath a little bit darker. Next, I'm going to use this cute template that I got from stencil revolution and I'm going to put one of the farm animals on each of my stools, so I'm going to place it in the center. I didn't measure it, I just left it, taped it in place and then I'm going to use that moss green color. I must have really loved this moss green color this year.
I will only use two coats to stamp it on my stools now that these stools are still in my kitchen and I haven't had any. Problems with the paint coming off them and they have held up very well. Oh, I didn't want them to be perfect either. I just used some hand sandpaper and got a little bit out of here, not too much, and like they are everyday. use typographic elements, you definitely want to add a transparent box. I'm just using a nice clear solitary wax and I'm wiping it on my stools and taking it out.
Here's a look at these tools that cost five bucks. I hope they do. I enjoyed seeing all of these
