My Demon 170 is Broken.. This is What I Feared the Whole Time!

Apr 15, 2024
Welcome back to the Racer I've been doing a lot of private testing with the

demon

getting better and better with the Trans break, learning a little more about

what

he likes to throw on that particular track and last night was no different, however things got a little better. Goofy with the car, I'm going to show you everything that happened last night and as you can see, I have my rental car right here, which is a Wagoner and there is no

demon

in my garage and to tell you the truth, there probably will be. There hasn't been any demon in my garage for quite some

time

now, um, it's a problem and one of the things I've always wondered about my car, if there isn't something strange going on with it, because even when I raced the Plaid despite of that wooded The Plaid I turned a little I was in front of him and that car went around me oh, he went out of line but I passed him no way we're dad oh, I grabbed him by the nose and he went a mile an hour He pushed me at about 5 miles an hour, the fastest my car has ever been is about 144 miles an hour, even when I ran like a 938, so it's a little strange when guys are out there doing 148 or 150.

The Plaid is supposed to The trap is almost the same as the devil, but he surrounded me like I was nailed to the ground and my car has never been so fast and last night everything got worse and worse and the car got slower and slower and I'm going to show you everything that happened if you guys are new to the channel make sure you hit subscribe here in the corner come on. I'm at Bradon Motorsport Park, you can see the demon back here chilling. behind me,

this

is a private rental track, many people don't know.

More Interesting Facts About,

my demon 170 is broken this is what i feared the whole time...

I've been going out during private track rentals trying to practice a little more in the car because the preparation is better, you don't have to take out all the preparation. like on normal Street nights where you have a lot of street tires on the track tonight the preparation should be really good, we're going to work on the trans break tonight just try to get better and I've been doing better. a lot of

this

behind the scenes, but tonight I thought I'd give you a little progress footage of the car. We're going to use the trans brake a lot tonight and try to dial it in and them.

We're really doing a good job with the preparation, in fact you can see back here, there's hardly anyone here, but that's

what

you get with private rentals. Lots of

time

to practice. Tonight we're going to run a neutral setup with the Demons, what I mean by that is a standard 20 psi on the rear, we're going to go to 50 on the front, so we blow them up to 50 to have less resistance to rolling, the car is almost cooled down, as you can see. There's no one running around the track right now, there's a lot of racing teams and stuff here tonight, but everyone's relaxed.

This should be a really good night. It's beautiful outside. The day is quite high. It's hot here in Florida, so I am. We're not going to run in record time, there won't be 890 tonight guys, I'm sorry to tell you the air just won't allow it, but it should be fun to practice, so we'll start with sort of a medium. trans break on this first hit and we'll see what happens guys this is the best sound in the world when you're on a track and you listen to it and you can't lift your feet yeah that's good okay guys.
It's time for the first pass, hopefully the car gets stuck. Let's try using the trans brake. I'm going to use the second map. Map B is right in the middle. We'll see if the track holds up. The track is felt. really good and sticky no trams here tonight that use regular tires it's all a drag spoke or a slick one which is good news so we'll see how fun it is what this thing is doing to this tire . I'm just imagining it, as you saw, I turned once again. I'm actually going to increase the tire pressure about a pound and a half and I'm just bending the tire, guys.
I know a lot of people think that every time. you turn it, it just goes down, down, down, that's not always the case, so I'm actually going to go up about a pound and a half with these and see, on a different trans brake, probably a trans c brake, how it goes, so we're on trans uh C brake, you can see this nice smooth curve at 1600 RPM, we'll see how the car does with this, it was a little bit better, so it was a much more successful pass out of the car, but obviously very slow. I took a lot of time, moved it up to the C brake transmission, which was like a 985 on I don't know 141 and some gears, so it's not very fast for a car like this, but again, it's really horrible out there. da terms it's beautiful outside but it's hot it's hot um da it's not very good tonight and like I said it was pretty slow it's like a 15660 because this car is easily capable of doing 2 and 1/2 T faster than that in good condition. air um I would love to get to 13 on the 60t tonight so I'm actually increasing the tire pressure a little bit more to 24 1/2 pounds because we slowly cut the tire and it's still wading the tire and making it super thin , so we'll just put a little more pressure on it and see if that does the trick and I'm burning it a little less, so tonight we'll try different things to see how the car performs.
I liked it, remember every track is a little different, the preparation is a little different when you go to the different tracks, what used to work for me at Texas Motorplex didn't necessarily work for me at inis and vice versa at this track, once again . The preparation is a little different, you just have to learn a little bit by doing pass after pass and trying different things, so a little more pressure on the back and we're going to go up to trans breake B, but I turn trans Brake b. down slightly, so a little more power, we'll see if it holds up, we'll see if you like it, we'll see if we don't spin and make adjustments, here we go, let's see if we can get this, uh, this thing working.
Stick, that would be great, maybe run a little faster this time, put a little more power on it, another solid hit, so the demon's second consecutive successful pass seems to be helping to increase the tire pressure on this track. 242lbs so after burnout it's probably like 25lbs and I'm doing shorter burnouts, that seems to be what's working here on this track, it's a little counterintuitive because that's not really what worked for me on other tracks on last. Track RAC, that's why it's really worth getting a lot of passes. Let's break down the transmission a little more next.
That one was a little faster, it's like a 980 14216, so a little faster. I told you guys, I'm not going to run crazy times tonight, running a lot of passes doing what it is and we have about a 10 mph headwind, none of that is great, but the key is practicing tonight. My 60 feet went from a56 on the first one to 143 on that one, so 1.21 faster, that's actually quite a bit, so let's turn it up a little bit more on the trans break, so let's take trans. Brake b again, go up a little in each place, increase the RPM, maybe around 100 RPM, see if it holds, as you can see, up to this point, everything seems to be going well on the track, like I said it doesn't.
We're running really good times, but at least we're getting some good practice in the car. It's hooking, things are getting better, but this is where things start to go. Ary, well, that pass was a little strange because it was even slower than the previous pass. although I raised the transmission brake a little bit and the car hooked up talking to the guys up front they all said the car seemed to get stuck like it did when it took off it just stuck it stuck but it stuck and I'm not really sure. Why is it like this?
I don't know if the car is synchronized because it's hot or whatever. I'm running the race. Chiller. I'm doing everything this car is really designed to do a fast lap, um, but for some reason that just passes. It seemed to get stuck so I turned up the transmission brake a little more let's see if the track holds up guys let's see what happens here for some reason the car just got completely stuck on the line so I'm kind of wondering if something is weird, it looks really weird, let's see if the car gets stuck again, it's a second pass in a row where when I got on a stage, I pulled both paddles to activate the trans brake, usually you just released the brake. just a little bit to light that second bulb and it's hard on the brake and you keep the accelerator pressed and then you release the paddle, the right paddle or the left paddle and then release the brake and then the car starts fine.
I did all those things in succession the right way and both times it came out and stuck like a big jam, so I don't know if something is not happy with the transmission. um, but it's really weird because um, I haven't done anything super crazy tonight. I haven't had like 50 races or anything, these cars are made to go back to back and I haven't done any back to back passes. so uh, I don't know if something went right with the transmission or not, um, I'm not sure, okay guys, let's do this with a foot rest, let's see what happens once again, the car got hooked, so I'm pretty confident with the tire pressure on this, it felt pretty good, the car never went into reserve torque, that was a little strange, well I went ahead and left the track, packed all my stuff, but I wanted to stop while everything was.
Fresh on my mind, I'm reviewing my last slide, guys, and something is definitely very wrong with my car right now, 4260 feet, which really isn't that bad, considering everything with the day and everything, but the car never went in in torque reserve. and I had like 2,000 RPM right before I hit the brakes and this car should go into torque. Reserves at like 1400 RPM, always has. There is something not happy with the car. Did you see the previous two passes where all the car did was just get stuck on the transmission brake and never released it, just got stuck with no power and went at 10:06 at 100 34 mph, dropped at least 10 mph as soon as to where it should be, so there's the car, something's happening.
The car is not happy and when I went to leave the track it didn't feel happy either, it acted like it didn't want to start first um there I don't know if it has to do with the software something in the transmission is not happy, the spark plugs are not right . I need to go to the dealership and analyze everything because the car should be faster than this. I'm very happy that the car is hooking up and I feel like I have this track. a little bit more resolved like I said at xrp in Texas and even to some extent sometimes if I was turning I would drop the pressure a little bit here, it was the complete opposite I was just bending the tire too much.
The car is very heavy and was actually jumping around and then when I upped the tire pressure a little bit the car started to hook up really well and I feel really good about it. I can't help if the car is doing something strange power wise, it felt strange, the 23 gear in the car felt very strange tonight, and I know you can adjust that here, but you have to look at something in the car, like this that I'll have to have the dealer look at the transmission I need the dealer to look to see what's going on with the spark plugs and just take a look at this, check the codes, um, make sure everything's happy because 134 mph is a hell of a 170 something is definitely out with the car, it shouldn't be stuck, it should have gone into Reserve Torque.
I'm not sure what to think about it anyway guys, we're going to find out there will be a lot more to this I'm sure. Content coming soon, so let me know what you think of tonight's races in the comments and I'll see you next time, so until then, Racer X.
