Why Megamind 2 is a Cinematic Disaster

Apr 10, 2024
Funding for Sha Realis is provided by Surf Shark VPN Tune in all the way for their amazing service Mega Minds versus the Doom Syndicate is a 2024 American animated superhero parody film produced by Dreamworks Animation television, let me, uh, let me tell you that. Again, Dreamworks Animation television, this is not an actual theatrical sequel in the same sense as Kung Fu Belly 2, Cat and Boots, The Last Wish, Shreku, etc., this follows the same vein as the television show The Penguins of Madagascar on Nickelodeon or the King Julian Show. on Netflix How to Train Your Dragon shows the show Kung Fu Panda and so on, you know, those, those TV shows aren't exactly on par with the movies they're based on, you know, I mean, I.
why megamind 2 is a cinematic disaster
I grew up watching the show The Penguins of Madagascar and I think it's pretty good and I'm sure all these other shows have their fans too, but the thing is, none of these shows have had the burden of carrying their franchises, you know, come out . As a little supplement for kids to watch between the releases of the big-budget theatrical sequels, the actual DreamWorks movies, Mega Mind versus Doom Syndicate, and the subsequent TV shows, Mega Mind's rules obviously follow the same vein as these TV shows, you know. They're meant to be just small add-ons between the franchise's big theatrical releases, but there's a slight problem with that.
why megamind 2 is a cinematic disaster

More Interesting Facts About,

why megamind 2 is a cinematic disaster...

Can't you see that Mega Mind versus Doom Syndicate isn't intended as a companion to a theatrical sequel because there's no theatrical sequel? And what's more, all of those TV shows I talked about came out very shortly after their original movies, Mega Mind Versus the Doom Syndicate, weren't just advertised as a spin-off TV show for kids, they were advertised as the so-so long awaited return of Mega mind's Grand and this was clearly an attempt to appeal to nostalgic adults who grew up watching Megamind as kids because if this show was meant to be just for kids then why are you making a mega mind show?
why megamind 2 is a cinematic disaster
It's been 14 years since the original came out, this character doesn't have the same relevance among kids that it would have had if this show had come out in 2011. The concept that they did this solely because they thought Mega Mind was a popular character for a group child demographic is ridiculous. They haven't done anything with this franchise since 2010 and therefore it's irrelevant to modern kids, which brings us to the real reason why Mega Mind only returned to the internet now. Some wise guy at DreamWorks caught wind of the fact that Mega Mind had amassed a huge online cultural following that rivaled even the biggest franchises. like Shrek or Kung Fu Panda, this is something that had been brewing for years largely thanks to the fact that kids who saw Mega Mind in 2010 started to grow up, looking back and realizing that that movie was really fun and very subversive and intelligent take on superhero morality, incel behavior and a lot of other things.
why megamind 2 is a cinematic disaster
I feel like most people I talk to appreciate Megamind more as an adult than they did as a kid, he's silly and funny and all that, but I don't know how I feel. Like most kids, they'll be more attached to the inherent awesomeness of Kung Fu Panda or the antics of those wacky animals from Madagascar. I mean, man, those animals are so funny. I think these are stronger kid-centric franchises than the movie where there are a lot of relationships. mature drama and self-discovery for multiple characters and also an incel. I can confirm all this because when I was a kid, yes, I liked Mega Mind, I thought it was good, but things like Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda appealed to me much more, I guess its box office. and the franchise's continued ability is proof of that.
Oh, and as a disclaimer, I'm not saying that Kung Fu Panda doesn't have moments of maturity. I'm just saying that the fun and epic Panda Kung Fu is easier for a child to understand than the fun blue science. guy in a relationship drama, I don't know, all that being said, I think it's pretty clear that this late Megamind revival of all the possible DreamWorks franchises that never got a sequel is a direct result of how popular and beloved it is in Internet. I mean, think about it, they could have revived something like shark tail, but is that really what kids want?
Let's say I'm an executive at DreamWorks. Hm, let me look up if the kids are talking about shark tail, what is a movie

disaster

? I guess no one wants that to be revived now, how about mega mind? It's a subversive masterpiece and 17 million people agree, well, Hot Diggity Dog could be a profitable franchise to revive. Well, alone, but in all seriousness, although I think that would be silly. Let's say there wasn't a z% chance that the popularity of a certain video on Mega Mind would get the idea of reviving it rolling. The truth of the matter is, I don't think I did.
Look at me being so humble. I deserve the humble award, no, but in all honesty, many people I've spoken to have credited me with starting the conversation about the

megamind

and its positive reputation within the Internet community, but I don't think those people remember well that

megamind

and the brilliance of his writing was talked about everywhere before my video came out and if anything my video was just kind of a consolidation of all the praise everyone was already thinking. I think some of my videos made certain opinions about movies known, for example. I didn't really see much praise for Shrek 4 before my video came out, but I noticed a lot more people showing up to say they enjoyed it with me nowadays.
However, I'm sure the video must have had some influence on how some people view the movie, but I feel like it was more about riding the wave of Mega Mind's popularity than starting that wave in the first place. I don't think any YouTube video can really sway the action of movie studio executives and my video was just one part of the mind-loving mega pie the Internet collectively baked in the late 2010s, all of it. it was a very roundabout way of saying I'm not responsible for this, my video didn't make this exist, you hear me, I wash my hands of you MegaMind versus Doom Syndicate anyway, it would explain why I'm so eager to do it with this new movie , but do I really have to?
If you've seen the trailer, you understand. This is not the rebirth anyone wanted for Mega Mind if this had happened. It was just a Nickelodeon tie-in TV show from 2011. I don't think anyone would have cared, but they were trying to get us excited, not kids, us mega-lovers of the mind, 20-somethings, kind of stuck In a perpetual state of arrested development, hey, that's the name. of the show, the trailer proudly proclaims that mega mind is back and you're welcome, we should thank them because this is what we wanted, a lot of people have expressed the feeling that Mega M should have had a bunch of sequels instead of its rival at the time, Despicable Me or other DreamWorks franchises like the boss, well this is the sequel we've all been waiting for, an exceptionally shitty looking movie without any of the original voice actors returning with an animation significantly worse that it also serves as a pilot.
For a TV show of similar non-existent quality, yes, Mega Mind is back and you're welcome. I considered ignoring this because maybe if I ignore it it will go away. I mean, I don't see any reason to bother the boss, baby. Back in Business or Spirit Riding Free or whatever DreamWorks is always going to make lower-quality animated television spin-offs that are even more kid-oriented than their original films and there's really no conceivable reason to get mad about them. that is true? It's obvious what they do. are and the same would apply to the Mega M level, except it's so obvious that DreamWorks wants my generation to see this because without my generation they would never have made it this way if they are going to treat the new mega mind like a big event.
What people my age should pay attention to. I guess it's fair to judge it as such. Hey, you ordered this DreamWorks? Why don't I take a look at how well it holds up as a sequel to Mega Mind? We will be thorough so you can put this whole experience aside and never think about it again after this. I will also cover all eight episodes of the television series. At first I thought only eight episodes I really like. Why are they television seasons? so short every once in a while after watching 5 minutes of the first episode I thought oh my god why is this season so long?
But we're getting ahead of ourselves, let's start with the one and only Mega Mind 2, as some people have started calling it. Hell, I even made it for the title of this video because it's shorter and that way you can see the rest of the words, but don't be fooled, this is not mega mind 2. I think that will become apparent very quickly. Well, there's nothing left to do. but Jump On In, first and foremost, this movie for making me get a peacock subscription. Don't know. I guess now I can finally watch that Ted show everyone was raving about back in January.
It sounds much better than this. I have to see it? However, the movies first are like best called, I saw, where it flashes to post the events of Breaking Bad, so you won't have the full context of this prequel unless you see what came out first. Damn, you know what I guess I can't. do the mega mental check until I'm sure about that, oh well James, good news, you don't need to watch the Ted movies to understand the Ted prequel. Excellent William, thank you very much. I guess I've run out of excuses. We see the DreamWorks logo and the megamind interrupts it in a very forced and awkward way talking about forced and uncomfortable uh this voice hello loyal viewers imposter now let's make one thing clear: I don't want to see any of you clowns go out there and harass to any of the voice actors involved in this production or the writers or animators etc, the only people you should harass are the network executives, it's always morally right, obviously the voice actors are doing the best possible work trying to fill the space. big shoes left by Will Ferell Tina Fay and David Cross I wouldn't say they're doing a bad job overall as voice impersonators, although yeah, I mean, surely there was someone out there they could have hired who really sounds like someone wild, right , anyway. no Mega mine says like me you probably never thought this day would come that's not his voice uh but neither is the real voice on the show sorry I see some old friends I see new friends and if that line doesn't tell you who they're trying to market this product in I don't know what it will be, oh look, we're your old friends.
We never thought we'd get Mega Mine 2 and there's a good reason for that because we still don't know who's ready. For the first joke, Mega Mine says it will probably be very funny. I see friends who, frankly, should put on some pants and venture out once in a while. Well, I don't exactly think I need to explain the wit and charm of the first film's humor. everything is gone, it's blatantly obvious if you watch a minute of this help, 15 seconds is probably all you need to get the image. Mega Mine below explains the plot of the first film without jokes.
It really is the vaguest possible way to capture. Viewers are aware of the story and most of the things he talks about, like Metroman and Titan, have nothing to do with the story of this movie. You could have just not had this here, stop reminding me that I could be watching a real movie. Instead, I'm depressed. Enough is enough, so after the title drop we meet the Go Fish gang, they are a gang that wears fish suits and are robbing an aquarium. I mean, I've seen less creative things before. I guess they are going to steal a fish and megamind is going to stop them and now 3 minutes later we have our first gu get AO so far so Minion explains that due to a cease and desist order from the food chain quick Mr.
Minion's Meatles, he can't be called Minion anymore and his name is now Chum, okay let's get into this, so obviously this is a sly reference to the fact that minions exist and pretty much took up all the mental space associated with that word. It's basically the mega mine franchise admitting defeat and acknowledging that Despicable Me won the culture war or whatever and I have to ask what are you guys five just call it minion who cares if minions are a thing that exists? It's a name based on a word, enlightenment doesn't own the word or wait who. owns enlightenment again Universal, yeah they don't own the word hm, that makes me curious who owns DreamWorks now, what universal belongs to both of them now, so what's wrong with calling a minion ?
Maybe they don't want to get their opportunitiesappears in front of old Pixar movies and the funny song about the phone number 8675309, are you still laughing? Oh, no megamind is that scared because Titan was just a villain and this is a whole syndicate of them, it doesn't matter. the fact that Titan was basically a God and these four are not only huge idiots but their powers are a mime that hypnotizes people. Gentleman who darkens things. Lava monster that could probably be stopped with a large water balloon. The only one I can see posing slightly. The threat is the weather lady and yet she hasn't used her weather powers for anything threatening, but none of them have the idea that Megamind considers these guys to be an overwhelming and unstoppable force.
It's a deeply crazy premise with no plausibility whatsoever. once again. It can't be a difficult task to pretend you're meeting each of them one by one and then shoot them with the Fing dehydrator gun. It's the easiest solution in the damn world. What is your problem? But you don't understand. On top of the countless gadgets Mega Mind has built over the years, it's not enough, it needs Minion to return, so they derail the plot completely to witness what clearly should have been just an episode of the show. television before Minion got a job on this shit.
Diner and now he turned it around and it's a good place that has good donuts and mega mind is like minion, you got it, come back and he says no, I like donuts and mega M says okay and Minion will be back later, just wait. This happens because I have seen a movie before. Mega Mine 2 relies on the child audience it's clearly made for to have never seen a movie to make this scene work, oh yeah, and Mega Mind and Roxan had trouble getting into the guard lady's CU, but a kid stupid, he showed up and helped them in because he got a roach and then the strange thing about this scene is that everyone in line just stares at them and doesn't complain that they're cutting in front of them. they're just okay with this, it's crazy that Cars 2 is better than this movie, so I didn't realize this the first time I saw it, but Doom Syndicate is watching a show called Crab Cake Wars, Crustation Devastation, which is pretty random.
That they reference crabs of all things, could this be a reference to a certain YouTuber who made a mega mental video? I really doubt it, but I feel like I'd get a lot of comments about it if I didn't address that. So there you have it, I don't feel anything, even if there was somehow a direct reference to me in this. I also wouldn't feel like anything about Mega Mind versus Doom Syndicate has broken me, not because it's a betrayal of everything I appreciated about the original. I'm serious. It's that, but that's not the main reason, the main reason is that it's one of the most boring and unbearable things I've ever seen.
You want to know where it would rank among Disney sequels. The last place is worse than the magical world of Belle and the Hunchback 2 because at least the Hunchback 2 had Serou and the magical world of Belle had um. Whatever it is, this is worse than that and it's worse than any real DreamWorks movie, including Turbo and Shrek II, it's so bad in so many ways that it's kind of soul crushing, like I really don't have the strength to get that angry. for that in general. it's really not worth it and we still have 30 more minutes to go oh my gosh you know one cool thing about Peacock is that it will actually tell you the Rotten Tomato score it has something every time you pause it so I have to watch this . glorious and prestigious 10% score every time I pause the movie to write about it and let's be honest, 10% is more than a little generous, guess what guys?
Mega M finally has a plan to defeat the Doom Syndicate. He took the entire movie to come. He keeps this up but he finally has one, are you ready? he uses the portable prison that he used on the fish at the beginning of the movie. It took him so long to come up with that it's not even a plan he already had. what is this? The problem with the movie anyway guess what you know how the portapotty broke earlier when he tried to use it on the fish, well now it breaks because he never fixed it.
What a brilliant plan to risk the entire fate of Metrocity in Mega Mine. Try to tell them what it is. just a joke, bro, and you thought that was just my casual, nonchalant way of expressing what happened through a quote from an old meme? No, that's actually what he says in the damn movie, it's a joke, bro, and then he sweats and the sweat drips all the way to his belt where the three fish were stored and he rehydrates them and they're real again oh no , what an overwhelming and bleak situation Mega Man finds himself in, it feels totally deserved and I'm experiencing a very real sense of dread from these subsequent shenanigans okay then, just like that, just like that, they kill off Mega mind finally, woo Oh my gosh, it took you long enough and the weather lady says let's move to a better neighborhood and the lava Skylander says Mongolia once again.
I don't understand what the joke was supposed to be. to be there, so please mail me the joke please email me the explanation of what this joke means and I will literally drink water if you do, thank you. Okay, next we have to have the scene where uh. the scene where it's super sad because Mega M is alone and about to lose all the good things in his life, but then he gets pep talks or whatever from Roxan and the stupid kid and Minion comes back, guys. I never wanted a video to end. in my entire life and we're not even on the TV show yet oh my god how did my life go so wrong?

They won't do it. The romantic plot here cannot make the relationships between the characters progress and stay progressed. I mean, none of this is Canon. anyway, obviously, so I guess I don't care, all the basic inconsistencies of the story imply that this is a situation from the Penguins of Madagascar TV show because in that show there was clearly no point in the timeline where the penguins and the lemur would have been. the zoo together it's obviously just an au and that's what this is too don't worry guys it didn't really ruin mega M's timeline even though it kind of ruined the franchise because they think they're going to make a actual theatrical sequel after this, well the first movie is intact and was always better as a standalone story anyway, let's leave it at that I guess before we do that, though I have to finish this next.
Mega mind and roxan distract the Doom syndicate with tennis balls, these are extremely effective against the four evil villains that mega mind didn't know how to defeat for days and days. Now it's crazy that beloved Evan Hansen is a better movie than this megamind. If I know the Minion, he has cleverly escaped. Through the lair's defenses, he takes a Wilding, guess what he's going to cut himself to after he says you'll never believe it. The minion didn't escape through the layers, the feces, that's so funny, that's the funniest thing I've ever seen, oh my god, this.
The movie keeps getting to the point of Home Run, now it's time to witness Roxanne's totally natural and believable arc in this movie that you saw before, she met with the mayor and the mayor is an idiot who doesn't know what to do in any situation, so she told him things he could do because he doesn't have AIDS, I guess who could do that for him and now that the city is flying into space the mayor is once again incompetent and doesn't know how to lead this situation, so I guess it's up to Roxan to lead everyone including these trained paramedics, police officers and firefighters because they didn't know what to do until this random reporter told them that in the meantime Minion defeats the gang of fish without his suit because they are the characters most incompetent in the world. movie no, I can't even say that everyone is on the same level of incompetence, so it stops the city from flying into space, but now it's just going to crash into Earth.
This is just the climax of Age of Ultron, what kind of fraud operation? Is this anyway playing a mind trick to get them to argue about who is the leader because they were arguing about it the entire movie and it didn't get annoying? He then beats them up in really disappointing ways and then stops the city from falling too quickly to the mayor. He yells at them for this and Roxan says haha, you're a bad mayor. I can do your job better and then immediately they have an election and she's the mayor, now that was the Arc of her, she became mayor because who else in the city would know? we paramedics trained to help people needed this reporter to tell us that Whoopi and Megamind finally learned the difference between villains and heroes, bad guys take care of themselves, heroes take care of each other, what a crazy revelation, guys, I can not believe it. and then a robot parakeet poops on him at the end, oh sorry, that's not the end, we have to have a 2 second Stinger credit post where the Doom Syndicate is in prison and is greeted by a floating brain named Makia, the villain, the guy who taught Megamind. everything he knows about evil, hey, wait a second, he grew up in prison and learned it all there, what are you talking about?
Just stop and that was Meind versus Doom Syndicate all over again, if it was just a TV movie that came out 14 years ago no one would do it. "Careful, we could all just ignore it and go on our way, but no DreamWorks had to hype it up and say: we hear you, Mega Mine fans, this is the sequel you deserve, you're welcome, it really might be one of the most insulting things we've ever done." I've ever seen it to the point where I'd say it's practically toe-to-toe with Surfs Up to wave Mania in terms of being an absolutely insane bastardization of every aspect of the original that was good.
I know I screamed a lot, but Really. I don't have the strength to despise it on the level you would have wanted from me, which is pretty surprising considering how long I talked about its horror. No, I really will forget everything that happens in this within a month. I don't think anything about it will give me. nightmares like seeing Vince McMahonmilking the nipple. I'm glad I can officially say that I talked about this and we can all move on with our lives now and what is that, no, no. No, I don't have to talk about the TV show.
No, no, you can't make me talk about the TV show. Under no circumstances will I talk about the television show. Now that you see kids, this is the part. where he cuts me off talking about the TV show, which is funny because I just said I wasn't going to do it. You are now a master of comedy on the same level as the writers of Mega Mind Rules. Episode one of Mega Mind Rules is perhaps even worse. That movie The only benefit it has is the fact that it's 22 minutes and not 90. You might be wondering how it could be worse than the movie.
What could follow that damn atrocity? A gift awaits you today, all the children. First things first, the show has a theme song and if I'm honest, it's not bad. Give it plenty of props for having lyrics, something a lot of kids shows these days don't have in their openings for some reason. Adam Lambert apparently did the song and he's like a real musician, he's crazy. My only problem with it is the lyrics, a superhero you stream online now, obviously this has a double meaning since within the show people see it on streams, oh wait we haven't gotten to that part yet, oh oopsie, sorry to spoil the big reveal, it's a mistake, but yeah, it makes sense within the context of the show, but it must also be like, hey, look, you're streaming their show online, they baked in the fact that this is a piece . of airing garbage in the theme song, what kind of sick and twisted show does that?
Anyway, the episode titled Mega Mind versus Dude Monkey, you know, we're in for a real treat with a title like that, so I'm not going to recap the Plot for all of these episodes. I'm just going to cover the main beats and lowlights. Basically, there's a new crime fighter in town and his name is Dude Monkey. He is an influencer. He broadcasts all the crime fighting escapades and stuff. Yes they played. Miles Morales game, you might remember that annoyance like the villain he broadcast all the time, yes he is like that, but a hero, wow I'm so excited, so Mega M goes to Roxan and throws a monitor at her, which makes it fall forward. in his office instead of the other way around, what makes sense is that here we can see the absolutely abysmal state of Rox ofine.
It's just that what's called, I have no idea, megamind gets into a little fight with Rox San's assistant, Christina, and breaks it up. Roxan is like kids stop fighting and everyone is like I will when you admit I'm the favorite, so basically Roxan now sees Mega Mind as her petulant, annoying son and not a love interest, which she likes given the way he acts on this show. yeah, I guess I can see why there's character assassination and then there's what happened to the blue guy. He now he's just an insufferable, obnoxious idiot and my soul hurts anyway.
How is Mega going to stop that cute guy? He just, really, just has to become an influencer. Himself, thank God, a stupid kid is here to do that for him. I don't know if I made this clear, but I hate this character so much. It's such a bland and annoying insert for all the kids at home to relate to. She is great and knows how. to the Internet and stuff, she teaches Mega Mind about the Internet and he doesn't know anything, not even what trolling is. Minion laughs at a very old meme, he even references Chocolate Rain, how are you guys?
I would play for you some of the most embarrassing moments where Mega M tries to be trendy, but I don't want this to be potentially affected by copyright and I also don't want to subject even my worst enemy to that kind of things, so the climax of the episode takes place in the aquarium. a place that we already saw in the movie and the villain who tries to steal the fish is Nighty Knight, a character that I already saw in the movie because if the quality of the animation were not enough to tell you that this is one of the adjacent DreamWorks productions cheapest of all time, the frequent reuse of locations and characters will certainly have Nighty Knight wiping the floor with the monkey and Turns out he was just faking all those heists stopped for views.
You really think someone would do that. He just goes on the internet and tells lies anyway. Mega M stops Nighty Knight very easily and then Minion turns it into an epic meme. I wonder if it will be a fall. from this height it would be enough to kill me but oh no it turns out that Nighty Knight was actually after a starfish that can regenerate for the brain yeah we have an ongoing story on this show it's not that great okay , I really want to finish these faster, so for the next one I'm really going to get to the lowlights, it's really hard when basically everything in these episodes is absolutely abysmal in so many ways, episode 2 isn't as bad as the one that preceded it directly.
You know, it's like a solid three out of 10 experience I guess, so Mega M goes to the donut shop Chum revitalized, you know the location they reused from the movie and this episode is about Mr. Donut, you know the guy they reused from the mega movie. The mind acts like a little boy who can't resist eating a donut when told not to, so mom has to scold him and the resulting fight causes Mr. Donut to be accidentally thrown into this vat of evil goo. processed. Mega Mine saves him and he whispers: I'll pay you back for this and, oh, oh, a strange misunderstanding.
Mega Time Mine believes he has created a super villain, he even broadcasts about it, although how did he get the footage of Mr. Donut saying this? Who cares about this program? No, so I guess so. Will will be dumb of me too, so Meind and Minion try to stop him from being evil, but oh no, everything they do makes him look more evil because Megamind is an idiot, eventually the guy gets hit in the head and loses his mind. memory and oh no. The Go Fish gang is here, you know, the guys they reused from the movie, they've been big fans of Mr Donut ever since they thought he robbed that bank, which happened like 5 minutes ago in Universe, they've been big fans ever since.
These writers know how time works and I've mentioned how annoying Mr. Donut's voice is. Who am I, who are you and what is happening. It's like listening to a soulless clown trying to sound dumb, but in reality he's dead inside and maybe we all are. If this is the kind of thing a streaming service thinks will be a tempting reason for us to subscribe, well, to be fair, Peacock has the Ted Show, I guess that looks so good right now, okay, focus, I guess this is a cute premise, but the fact that they wait until the episode is halfway over for Mr Donut to lose his memory and for the fish fish to show up makes this concept have no real time to breathe, it just happens.
I guess it's noise anyway, he cheats on Megamind but his wife. and the kids show up and get him out of there, the kids definitely don't look like horrible CG abominations and the megamind makes a pun at the end and then says "I stepped on the good times, didn't I have a good time for you? That just happens." that he's right behind me." Isn't it IR, what the hell? So let me clarify this. I'm in this place I wouldn't call metrocity in this episode. John wants to see his first porn movie, so he and Ted make fake IDs and rent a bunch of Unfortunately, one of the tapes gets stuck in the VCR, so they have to wait a minute.
What am I making the video on again? Oh yes, Mega Minas, oh Lord, why did you have to make it so bad? So this episode starts off in an incredibly fun way. where mega mind is broadcasting live but he thought it was live screaming so he screams everything this show says oh mom the comedy police better come quell this riot anyway we can see the stupid girl eating and leaving his trash everywhere and mega mind is like Minion, clean it all up. I thought everything that was in the movie wasn't Trea Minion being trash, but she's doing it anyway.
What a beautiful exercise and not at all numbing in futility. Watching this show is so in this episode Minion and a stupid kid are fighting. the girls are fighting oh no but they have to put aside their differences and save the mega mind because Minion accidentally sprayed a cockroach with super intelligence so the cockroach is super smart and will take over the world, wasn't this a plot in Fairly op? parents or something anyway there was a joke that I think was kind of funny. I should get rid of my exo skeleton and deposit it in his shoe oh yeah well we'll buy him new feet huh this is pretty much the best episode so far it's like thinking. from a generic episode of a children's show, it's that minion and a stupid kid who learn to overcome their differences and get along.
Mega M learns to overcome her fear of cockroaches. Hooray, at least this episode introduces a new character that wasn't just copied and pasted from the movie. It was okay, this was the first experience of a mental mega show that didn't make me feel pain. I mean, how annoying can I really get over an episode that gave us this? Do you want to know why I'm afraid? Well, apparently, the next one is a Body Swap Episode. I actually really like body swap stories. I think they're fun opportunities for characters to impersonate each other and deal with problems in each other's lives, and this one features mega minds and rock sand changing bodies, that might be nice. of heat, I suppose it also happens due to some kind of scientific accident or something, no.
Mega M just does it intentionally without asking just because I guess she wanted to show it or something, even though she says it doesn't go away because Mega Mind of Days is the worst thing on this show. You know, someone on Twitter said, "I owe Ralph Breaks the Internet an apology for how bad this megamind is. By the way, that's not how it works, but I will say this. I feel a little bad for saying that Ralph was the character most killed off I've ever seen between an original and a sequel because there's practically nothing to like about Megamind in this show, he's not funny, he's complete, he's a bigger minion than he ever was when he was a villain and just. he does things like this without thinking about the consequences.
I hate him so much. Minion and Roxan in the show are just bland, unfunny imitations of what they were before, but megamind is just the worst ever. I mean, the original characters. I think I still hate Doom Syndicate and the stupid kid. Okay, what happens in this episode? Mega Ms runs around the city as the mayor because she's an idiot and Roxan fights the weather lady with Minion and stupid K, but she's not. good at that, oh no yeah, exactly what you'd expect from this plot with no real surprises, although one really fun aspect that I really liked is the fact that they don't change voices which means we can hear. to the voice actors.
Do impressions of each other's characters and you know what's fun. I like hearing Mega mind's VA talk unusually and casually while Roxanne's VA really exaggerates it like Mega mins, that's really good, good job, post by Keith Ferguson and Laura, you guys did great, God mine. roxan, this show has the same voice actress as Kumi Persona yaka Fire Emblem haa papaya, meanwhile, Keith Ferguson is the voice of Blue from Fosters. This is a clever reference to how the blue Mega Mines are also an annoying piece in the show, yes. There's really not much to talk about with this one, but we're halfway through the show, oh my god, halfway through, just halfway through, are you kidding me?
Episode 5 was okay, I actually had a little fun with some of it, I don't know. In setup, it looks like it's going to be somewhat frustrating. Oh boy, Roxan reunites with a childhood friend and the mega mind is super heh cool. I guess we're in for a frustrating story about him sabotaging her friendship and then she gets mad at him, blah. Blah blah, you know the drill, luckily it doesn't actually go that route, instead the megamind tries to make them jealous by stealing a stupid kid's robot from the science project and pretending they're his best friends, but the robot becomes too clingy and obsessive. and starts trying to replace mega. mind with other random objects and people and when he finds out that they aren't mega mind he just pushes them away, that's cute, I thought it was kind of funny, the robot is like the only character on this show that I like and Minion spends the entire episode getting high on electricity, that's kind of fun too, overall a decent little episode.
I didn't feel like I was in a coma while watching this, which is honestly one of the biggest compliments I've ever given in my life regarding what I expected from something dare I say this episode is complete six out of 10 congratulations mega mind Rules season 1 episode 5 extra credit you exceeded every single expectation I had oh boy are we boring again on this onemega episode The mind is really tired of fighting the Doom Syndicate and the obvious solution is that they should let him sleep, but he doesn't want to, so instead of hitting him with the forget-me-not stick to knock him out, the minion decides to clone himself, so than the clone.
I can take care of him while he goes out to buy tickets for the concert. I don't know, man, at least in this episode the megamind has an excuse to act stupid because he's sleep deprived or whatever, he doesn't really act much different than how he normally does. Anyway, the minion clone is cloned five more times. Will they turn evil and take over the city? he said that this city will be the death of me, so Minion needs to destroy the city before he can kill the megamines. I'm so tired guys make this stop overall this is another boring episode it's not horrible but at this point I really started to notice it. a pattern with this show's conflicts, all of them so far apart from the first one with the monkey guy are caused by mega mind and minion somehow episode 2 mega mind accidentally turns mr donut into a super villain and they need stop it episode three minion accidentally sprays a cockroach with super intelligence and they need to stop it episode 4 mega mind deliberately changes his and Rox San's body and is directly responsible for all the chaos that follows episode five mega mind accidentally creates a murder throwing robot while try to make roxan jealous The minion from episode 6 clones himself and the clones go crazy and it's really cool and not at all repetitive or frustrating that almost all the conflicts in each episode are caused directly by our main characters and they always need clean it up, can the next episode be resounding? horrible again so at least I can feel like something is right.
I mean, I guess that one was pretty bad ultimately. I don't think anything has reached the same level as Uncle Hermano's influencer episode because, honestly, the whole mega mind of being an influencer hardly has any impact. the show, don't get me wrong, I'm happy about it, but since I thought that was supposed to be the main premise or something, I guess it's hard to establish that when you only have eight episodes, but whatever, I'm glad that the had. Anyway today we have a stupid kid focused episode, it's not that good, it's her birthday and she uses the watch disguised as Mega Min to infiltrate the Doom Syndicate pretending to be a night owl, she just wants to prove she can be a hero , guys, oh. no, so the Doom Syndicate is hiding in this office and for some reason the former mayor is there too.
It's never explained why I'm going to lose sleep thinking about the reasoning behind this for the rest of my life, meanwhile the mega mind is baking a cake for KO, hey, that's the name of the episode, there's a joke that It was as close to being fun as if it had all the right ingredients, but it was undercooked or underbaked. Damn, why didn't I say that? Then they bake a cake that looks perfect except it turns out to be alive and attacks Minion so Megamind has to put him out of her misery. This is a great idea for a joke, but as if the cake were animated in a less forced way and if it had a mouth. or something similar to that Patty that Mr.
Krabs ate that went wrong, that would have been very funny and the joke especially would have landed if Mega M's acceptable expression when shooting was sadder with a tear or a quivering lip or something they were with so close this joke makes me depressed just thinking about it in the idiot squad cape we learned that none of them knew how to spell mega mina thought these guys were a bigger threat than titan the big boss took down mega mina uh-oh the real nightie Knight is here and the others can't tell which one is the imposter, so the evil mastermind comes in and immediately says that it's probably the one not using Mega min's disguise generator.
Yeah, none of them saw that I'm constantly amazed at how many levels of stupid, they're operating on some stupid girl pretending she wants to be evil, so Mamba number five tasks her with stealing Mega Mind's Binky. Remember he was in the first movie and he's a source of supreme power or something. She steals it, but she has the old one. The mayor makes a fake version to give to the Doom Syndicate and then tells them it's fake and that he has the real version instead of just sneaking away and not getting them to chase her right away, so everyone in this episode is stupid, at least Makia .
The villain is confident because he immediately knew the pacifier was fake and secretly swapped it for the real one the stupid girl had in her backpack. See, he needed it to regenerate her body and he's about to say ooh, it's the Cliffhanger setting up the end. It's like 2: a. m. as I write this I'm really really tired right now and this shit show is exacerbating that why couldn't I have done a five minute review, man what was I thinking? They've drained me of every ounce of joy I ever had and What you see before you is a lifeless shell that goes through the motions of life without a concrete future to aspire to and it will happen to you if you look at this garbage, don't be like that.
Yo kids save yourselves before it's too late okay we can do this time to finally see what Makia's villain looks like oh god what is that? Get it off my chest, so yes, in some ways, his design is even worse than all of Doom's syndicates. Was all that preparation worth it? Was there any point in all this? I wonder: Every day, the mime, oh look, the villain Makia and Megamind are rehashing the microwave warranty conversation from the original movie. It's a lot less fun from a writing and timing perspective, I'm surprised, obviously not, so Makia's villain's big plan is for Mega M to play a little game show.
I thought this was incredibly stupid and disappointing at first, but it honestly goes somewhere and turns into a pretty good plan. I don't think I'm saying that I think this show is causing me brain damage Mega Man's minion and the stupid kid go to various places and fight members of the Doom Syndicate yada yada yada and the whole time the stupid kid is guilty because he gave Mak a villain the pacifier. because she's a novelty, she reveals this to Megamind and he's honestly completely cool about it, which is good because I don't think my heart can handle a cliche third act breakup, although maybe they just didn't do it because they ran out. of time in the show otherwise they would have a mega mind and also reveals that he never actually defeated Makia's villain, he just accidentally burned his cape while microwaving a burrito and I guess that burned his entire body and left him like a brain, I think.
That's what the story is trying to tell me anyway, as the villain Ed Makia, distracted by Mega M, breaks into his lair and reprograms all the Brain Bots to run a Muk, so Mega Mine tries to destroy the tower of control with his space laser, but oh no, Makia again. The villain reprogrammed it to explode a nearby comet, causing it to crash into an atrocity. The Megamind can't stop her, but when all hope is lost, the villain Makia saves the day as he is a bigger hero than the Megamind ever was and even uses images out of context. of Mega Mind fighting the Doom Syndicate and knocking the comet out of its orbit to make Mega Mine look like a super villain again.
Honestly, this is a pretty good plan and I think what makes it even more effective is the fact that in this show Mega Mind is a legitimate threat causing as much trouble for this city through his incompetence as yes, you'd think he is. evil again 100% or he would if it weren't for a small flaw in this guy's plan, his name is Makia villain, hello Mak, a villain. your new hero is these stupid people it's stupid just name yourself anything else come on oh well with all this overwhelming evidence against Megamind roxan sides with Makia as a villain and declares Megamind's public enemy number one I would feel incredibly betrayed by this, but like Mega mine doesn't seem to be that way whatever if we feel the weight of betrayals on this show 5 year olds will be sad we can't have that I mean I'm sure Roxan still believes in him or whatever and just pretending to be on the audience's side, but we won't know for sure until season 2, oh my god, I really hope this doesn't get renewed for season 2, not just because obviously, but because it ends on a dramatic cliffhanger that never resolved would be the funniest conclusion ever to this Dopey show, oh and don't worry.
Mega Minds rules have one last ghetto. Up to this point, the hook for season 2 is Mega Mine telling her friends that to stop Mak they need a villain. To find Metroman bro please don't drag him into this this is really the most desperate thing the show has managed so far and I really can't think of a better Capper for this whole mess well it was a pretty much pointless experience of which I got absolutely nothing out of. At least the show started with its worst episode, I guess, and then we just slid into a comfortable, boring Evil, but I ended this whole experience by rewatching the original Mega Mind and, wow, that Mega Mind versus Doom Syndicate and the rules of the mega mind captures. in Iota of the wit, heart and entertainment value of the original film would be an extremely generous assessment, this sucks and making it was a complete waste of time on the part of everyone involved once again, although everyone just did their job so admirably as they could based on the pitiful budget that DreamWorks shackled them to, but once again I have to wonder if it was worth it, what was the point of making a show that is so clearly for kids and no one else, based on a cult classic movie with a large audience of twenty-somethings, right?
I think they're going to tune into Peacock Kids and watch ads for Caillou between episodes just for the chance to see an obnoxious, annoying character who looks and sounds vaguely like a megamind. I mean, yeah, I did that, but it's only because I had to take the bullet and warn everyone to stay far away from this movie and show that it's neither hilariously bad nor a great buddy hate movie, it's just bored. Kitty's Trash Kids have so many better things than what they would be watching and If you're an adult who wants a continuation of something from your childhood that actually acknowledges that you grew up, watch the Fiona and Cake miniseries.
Do you want to watch a great, original animated series aimed at adults? Watch Bluey Samurai or get trapped in Invincible Hell, just watch the video of my 2023 TV show because every show on that list is better than mental mega rules. Every program comes. I don't even know what to say about this anymore, just an absolute fiasco I'm probably going to do. Forget it completely now that this video is over. I'm serious, it won't be a punching bag that I frequently mention in my videos. It's too depressing to do that, let's all forget what happened and move on with our lives now. unless season 2 actually gets the green light, in which case I'll definitely talk about it.
I guess why not this is my life now, but for now we're done talking about mediocre DreamWork, March Madness ended in April, baby, that'll be it. my month I'm going to review hundreds of beavers a piece of peak cinema you need to see I'm going to post my Christopher Nolan rating I finally ordered my hot sauce an hour ago and maybe even got my big ass Pikmin 4 video I'm also very passionate about finishing though I may have to wait until May, we'll see, woo. I'm glad my mind is no longer a sunless place now that I'm free from the mega mind, hell.
I forgot that my job is really fun when I like making videos about something anyway. See you when we get to those really good things. Good evening, Metrocity.
