Apr 10, 2024
hello friends welcome or welcome back to rustic and lace diy for those of you returning welcome back I appreciate you so much and if you are new here welcome my name is brenda and this is my oliver and we are very happy to which I'm also here today I have a great um video for you so I hope you sit back and enjoy it. With all that said, let's start creating. Well, here's DIY number one, so for this DIY I'm going to pull out this um decal. which I created from my cricut and these three wood planks that I got from the

dollar

tree

and then I'm going to use my Waverly chalk paint in the white and elephant color and then I'm also going to use some lids from about 5 gallon shakers. sticks and I'm going to start by cutting all the threads off of these plates and then I'm going to place them and glue them now I had to turn them over because they're a little warped on some of So I was trying to make it a little more uniform so I took these caps five gallon and I'm going to glue those pieces together and I just put a little bit of wood glue in the middle and hot glue on the ends.

Now, if you don't have any of these wooden five gallon lids, because you know I cut up my sticks and had them left over, you can always use craft sticks or rulers or something and then I just painted it with my Waverly chalk paint in the color white and then I'm doing a little bit of dry brushing with my elephant color and um doing a little bit of distressing around the edge as well now if you don't like distressing you can do it however you want and whatever makes you happy this is just inspiration and this is what I like, so I'm having this chicken now.

I didn't print this together because I had the green leaves, so I did this part separately, but I'm just going to add this to the middle of that decal and then use my transfer tape to transfer everything to my boards. Now I don't know, there may be an easier way to do this with my cricut, I don't know but this is what I found has worked for me whenever I'm making multi colored things so I just take my decal here and just rub it on or I braid it, burnished, burnished is the word on my side that I will now have in my description.

There is a link to this in the box since I created it, but the link is only if you have Cricut design space, so unfortunately I don't know how to do it any other way, but I'm trying to learn how to make things so I can share them. with you guys so bear with me while I learn so I took some jute twine here and I tied a knot on the end and then I wrap it around the board three times and I trim it and I tie another knot and then I glue it on hot.

The reason I tie the knots is I feel like it gives the hot glue a little bit more to stick to and then I do that on both sides and then I took some of this ribbon that I bought from Amazon. I have that in my Amazon store, which you can also find in my description box, and I just make the awareness ribbon, crumple it up and take one of those jute hangers that I pulled off one of the plates there and just wrap it around a few times in the middle and tie it so that way we have a bow and then once that's done I'll just trim the little tails there and then cut that ribbon and then join the ends together. and then I'm going to hot glue this to the top left corner of my super easy sign project.
I love the way it turned out. I love it and then I just use some shipping paper from Dollar Tree and I'm hot. I glued it all over the back and then trimmed off the excess. Now I'm taking four of these more of these tops and I'm just using a little bit of wood glue and a little bit of hot glue and I'm going to glue them on top. two on top of each other if that makes sense and the reason I'm doing this is that normally I would use falling tower blocks to make a stand for my sign but I figured the sign is so big they wouldn't work very well.
So I decide to use these and I need to use all the ones I have, but I'm going to hot glue them to the back so I have a stand now. If you want to hang this, you can use a hanger. but I'm going to put this on top of my cabinets in my

kitchen

so I thought I'd rather have it standing so after that it will be complete and I love the way it turned out, you'll have to tell me what you think. but I came up with this saying and I thought I cook, I don't enjoy it and I prefer to have a self-service

kitchen

, so here's DIY number two, so for this DIY I'm going to use basically the whole

dollar

.

tree

elements except my painting, now you may have seen one of these before.
I see them all the time on Pinterest and I also saw the monarch mom create one of these and I love them and I think they are so cute and I really wanted them. to make my own, that's why I'm making this one, I hope you don't get tired of looking at them, so I'm going to start by taking all of those items and painting them with my white chalk paint and then once they're dry, I'm going to take my elephant and I'm going to do my dry brushing and distressing on each of them. If you're new here, I just want to welcome you.

I love meeting all my subscribers and just seeing where they're from and seeing what they think of my DIYs because I do this for myself, but I also do this for you because you're the ones watching. If there's something you don't like, I try not to do it and anyway, if you're not new here, make sure to give me a thumbs up too because that helps my channel grow, besides commenting, I love hearing from everyone. from you so it always tickles me to see your comments so once I was done painting or dry brushing everything I grabbed my e6000 and some hot glue and put it on top of that butter dish because come on to hit I'm going to lower it onto the butter dish tray, then I'm going to use my e6000 and hot glue again and place that candle holder on the bottom of that butter dish, then I'm going to use some dollar tree ribbon and I'm going to hot glue this around that butter dish.
Now I had to put little bits of hot glue here and there just because it's rounded so I didn't really want to get it too nice so that's why I'm using the hot glue. Glue there just so it fits properly, then I'll trim it and hot glue the ends to the back and then do the same thing with some twine that I also bought from Dollar Tree and This twine I think I found in the Crafter Square section of the Dollar Tree and then once I'm done with that, I'll make a couple of bows and add those as well.
Have any of you been to Dollar Tree lately and have them? I have ads that like customer service and cosmetics or customer service and automotive. The other day I was in a dollar tree and I kept hearing that and I kept laughing because it's like when did they have customer service in sections? I just thought it was the funniest thing. Which you'll have to let me know in the comments box if you've heard that before, oh, it was pretty interesting for some reason, it really made me laugh, okay, so after doing this arc, it was just a regular.
On the cheap, I'm going to make a bow out of the twine as well and I'm going to put it on top of that bow and then I'm going to use some hot glue and I'm just going to wrap the top with that same twine and I do this on each one now, if not you like the

farmhouse

look or the distressed look or if you want to do this you can do it so many different ways you can wrap a ribbon you could wrap like the Rhinestone Adhesive Strips from Dollar Tree if you want to give it more of a look glamorous, you can do it.
There are lots of ways to do this and I saw all kinds of shapes on Pinterest so you can make it your own so I just used a little hot glue. at the bottom of those salt and pepper shakers so they don't move and then I'm just going to add some little flowers to each one and that's all there was and by the way I made little bows, I'm sure You already noticed, for those too you don't even have You have to make bows if you don't like them, I like them, as you can see, because I put them on almost everything, so there they are.
I love the way it turned out. to let me know in the comments box below what you like or what you thought and if you've ever made one yourself I'd love to know. Okay, if you want to follow me on social media, you can find my links to that and other accounts I'm affiliated with in my link tree in the description box below, okay, DIY number three, so for this DIY I'm going to use a choc couture transfer if you don't know I am. a chocolate designer, I'm going to use this mason jar sign from Dollar Tree and then I'm going to use my chalk paste on color storm, color meadow, and current color jam and I don't know why I'm showing it to you . my bright white because I don't use that and I knew I wasn't going to use it.
I was having a moment so I used my heat gun here and I'm just removing this piece of metal using the heat to release it. a little bit of that glue and then once I got it off I used my heat gun to remove that label and then I took my staple remover to remove the hanger but those staples weren't there very securely and they came right off. I really even need it so I took some of the goo off of it because it was still a little sticky where that label was and I'm just making it non-sticky and then I'm going to use my pinky sander and sand a little bit where those holes were so that They weren't apparent, but it's not going to matter because I'm putting the metal piece back in there, so gosh, sometimes it's okay, so I painted the whole sign white and of course I'm doing this on the la back because I don't want to deal with the paper on the front so anyway once everything was painted white I'm just doing my distressing with my elephant color and I was really proud of myself for remembering to distress the middle because a lot of times I put my transfer on and then I'm like, oh, I wanted to make it distressing, damn, and then I have to try to do it around the image, but anyway, I'm using my surface wax here and I'm just rubbing this all the time and the reason I'm doing this is because I'm not using a whiteboard and I want to make sure that surface is completely smooth for my transfer, so like this is my first time doing it.
I have used this transfer and since they are adhesive you don't want it to stick too hard to your surface or it might stretch the transfer so I rubbed it about four or five times just to make sure it comes off smoothly so after I'm going to use my storm chalk rhythm and I'm going to go over the measuring cups and the words with that storm color and then I'm going to use my metal green for the leaves and my current jam for the little berries now, if you've never tried chocolate and you're interested in trying it, we have a club called haute couture and it costs 19.99, it's about 20 a month and you get a free exclusive transfer which is not available to everyone, you also get three singles.
Pastes that coordinate with that transfer, as well as a squeegee, are a great option to sign up for if you're interested in trying it out. You only have to sign up for three months, I mean you can do it longer if you want. but it's only a requirement for three months, I just found out recently, but they get an exclusive transfer and it's so fun to use them guys, and it always looks so fancy when you're done and it's really easy, and if you're interested in trying it, I suggest you do it or they kiss. They sell them a little more, but they come with a few extra things, so check them out.
You can find my link to my chalk tour site in my description box and if you have any questions be sure to email me. I would love to respond and provide you with any information you may need. As you can see I just hot glued that piece of metal together and then I'm making Another bow, I think I bought this ribbon from hobby lobby but you can use any type of bow you want and you can find black buffalo plaid bows or yarn ribbons anywhere other than the dollar tree. Sometimes you can find it, but it is usually the smallest.
So after I make the bow and put it together, I'm just going to cut out some of these little flowers. I thought this coordinated really well with the leaves and berries on the sign, as well as my previous DIY, and then I'm just going to hot glue them right in the top left corner there and then I'm going to hot glue the bow right in the middle there and I love the way this turned out guys I actually love all of these projects. I really loved it today so I used a little bit more shipping paper and I'm just covering that ugly back with it and then I'm going to trim that excess shipping paper with an exact knife here and once that's all trimmed then I'm just going to use a little more thread.
I'm doingsome knots. I decided it was too long so I had to tie another knot and then I'm going to hot glue them on the end. Now I don't know if I can. I'm actually going to keep this as a hanging sign so I can add some falling tower blocks to the bottom if I want it to stand up so you can do it either way so here it is, you'll have to let me know what you think about this. one, I just love it and again, if you are interested and want more information, send me an email or you can just visit my site.
Here is DIY number four, so for this DIY I am going to use these wooden spoon and fork from Dollar Tree this wooden plaque from Dollar Tree now this white piece came from one of the small wedding reception plaques that you can get from Dollar Tree and then these Dollar Tree stickers and my white and elephant Waverly chalk. I start by painting this plate with my white. I'm going to paint the front and back because I'm going to have this as a hanging sign and because of the way the utensils will be held. I didn't think I could put shipping paper on the back, so I'm painting the front and the back and then I took my gray and I'm going to paint the front on the back of both the spoon and the fork and Solo I make sure you get into the cracks with that paint too after that I took my gray and I'm just doing my distressing around the plate and then I'm going to distress a little bit in the middle as well and then I'm done with the plate I'm going to take my white paint and this bigger chippy brush and I'm going to dry brush the utensils and again, if you don't like to distress yourself, you can always do this another way.
For you, this is just for inspiration, so I took one of these hangers that I had next to me from one of my previous DIYs and I'm just making a hanger and I ran it through the spoon and fork. and then I'm going to get my hot glue and I'm sorry if this isn't on the frame, but I'm also going to hot glue the spoon and the fork, but I'm moving them around here because I wanted to make I'm sure they were at the angle. right what I wanted, so I'm using that little white piece and I'm just going to hot glue it to that spoon because the fork lifted up a little bit since it was on top of the spoon and then I'm going to hot glue that plate on both of them, then I'm going to take these letters and I'm going to use my little ruler here just to make sure I have them lined up evenly because I'm really bad with that part.
Guys I do things crooked all the time, my husband asks me to look to see if something is right and I always say you don't ask, I want to wonder why I'll think it's right and then I'll look at it, oh not that. right, um, so I'm just spelling the words eat and then after that, I'm going to get some of these transfers that I got from Dollar Tree, these transfers rub off and I'm just going to put a couple of those sweet little vines on. There I think they're supposed to be olive branches and I'm just using my little burnishing tool and now I'm rubbing it and you can tell when it's done because it turns from black to a dark gray color.
So once I start to see how it changes, I just go and pick up the plastic piece, there it is and then I make another little bow with that dollar tree ribbon and add it to the top and that's it for this super farm very easy. and I just love it, you'll have to tell me what you think about this one too and which one was your favorite today and if you've created any of these yourself before and if so how you did it and you guys if you'd like to send me photos of your creations, I would love to receive them, you can email them to me and if you are okay with me sharing them, I would also love to share them in my videos and give you credit, so let me know.
