Let's start with a simple update to these Dollar Tree signs. Dollar Tree recently got a new selection of these cute signs and it's so easy to update them and make them a little more personalized than the way they come, just pick your favorite which will have some sort of new pattern on it and let's make our own little Lemons miniature with a little Crayola Model Magic, if you haven't tried this stuff it's so fun to play with and craft with, it's a little like air dry clay but definitely not so messy that you won't get your fingers dirty.

It doesn't sit on your work surface and it dries quickly, so we're literally going to roll these little Cray Model Magic things into little balls and then pinch the ends, roll the middle again a little more and it's these cute little lemon shapes. , so once they dry, it takes about an hour, then you go in and paint them yellow, so I'm using a chalk paint here a little bit more of a muted yellow if you want. bright yellow use a bright yellow totally up to you. I left some of the white type visible just to give it more texture and now we can start decorating our Dollar Tree signs so this sign doesn't have any greenery.

So I

grab

bed this white Greenery I had at the craft store. I'll link it below for you. I love this all year round, but especially at Christmas, but it will be perfect for this DIY that you just wrap up. Form a circle a few times and then wrap the tail around itself to keep it in shape and then similar to this porch sign, this one already had some greenery on it. I just removed it from there, let's save it and use it. and give this sign a little more greenery here so it doesn't look so sparse.

I just did the same thing with the house sign, but then I took the greenery from the porch sign and hot glued it right on top of you. You can see we have a nice layered and textured look there and now all you have to do is once your

lemons

are dry you can hot glue them onto the wreaths just a little bit here and there and then I also took a bigger one and I actually glued it right in the center of this bow at the top, which gave it a little more color there too.
Same thing with this porch sign and I just stuck those

lemons

in there and stuck them on with some hot glue, so super. Easy, right, just a very simple and quick way to update some signs that are affordable at Dollar Tree, but keep this in mind. If you have other signs at home, all you have to do is stick some lemons on them to give them more summer. and updated look. I made these next two DIYs even easier for you with these two free printables. It's very easy to add them to your computer. All you have to do is head to the description box below, click the link and save them to your computer.
Be sure to increase your quality level to the maximum before printing for the best quality. Let's start with this printable print right here so it's actually reduced to an 8x10 size and yes you can find beautiful picture frames at Dollar Tree one. one of my absolute favorite things to get from there because you'll get a bargain and they actually look great too so this doesn't get any easier all you have to do is print out your free printable like I said it will be linked. down for you and then we're going to remove about a/4 inch on each side and about a half inch from the top and bottom so now we have an 8x10 size, like I said, just regular computer paper.
There's nothing special here, go ahead and put it in your frame and it's easy, if you want you can decorate your frame a little bit, but I really like the simplicity of this and of course you can shrink this file and enlarge it. make it fit any frame you already have, but it's a simple, easy and really stylish way to add a touch of yellow to your decor. Now, this is the free printable that I will link to you below. It's markers and everything you have. What you need to do is print this out on regular computer paper again, take some scissors and cut them out so they're small enough that you can print them and then use some packaging tape to laminate them, so we want to make sure that we can use them. over and over again, so let's duplicate them too.
You will need some adhesive. I have this masking tape that I love, it's great for paper crafts. I'll link it below, but the glue stick works for this too, we're just going to sandwich them together, press them so they're flat with no air bubbles in there and we're going to do the same thing with the second set now too if you didn't want to do this and you wanted to have four markers instead. out of two, you can absolutely do that. I thought it would be cute to give these bookmarks a double-sided look. Now you're going to come in with some regular packing tape, the clearest packing tape you can find, not the fuzzy kind or the frosted kind and we're going to place our paper right in the center of that tape, flatten it out to get all the bubbles out. of air and then just fold it in half and press it again from one end to the other to get all the air bubbles out. and then trim this down, you'll also trim the sides and top so it's flush, but now it's laminated and protected and kind of waterproof, so you can stop here if you want or we're going to dress ours up. a little bit more just by taking an awl and punching a hole in the top of each of these bookmarks and as you can see I also have some wooden beads and I also bought some very inexpensive embroidery floss from the craft store let's make a little tassel for the top, so I'm using a phone case for this.
You can use cardboard, whatever you have on hand, big enough so you can make a nice tassel for the top of your bookmark. remove it and then cut one of the small loops at the bottom so you have a long piece of embroidery floss. We're going to put some masking tape on the end and then put that end through the marker and through one of those wooden beads add a little bit more. glue ribbon to the other end and push it through the wooden bead so now we have a wooden bead and a pretty tassel on top instead of tying a knot on top.
I just took some hot glue and put it inside the wooden bead to hold that. everything in its place and then I removed the ribbon from the top of the rope, not bad for a gift, right? And I love the addition and added embellishment of the tassel and wooden bead to make it look a little more elegant. an idea that you can get for free to print below or use your own printables and scrapbook paper to recreate them, so it's fun. In fact, we're going to

grab

some real lemons for this project and a yellow candle from Dollar Tree. to make some cute summer candles, so if you haven't melted the Dollar Tree wax before let me give you some tips, we're going to put our stove on medium high heat and then we're going to put a pot full of water. halfway and then place our candle in the wax and let it come up to temperature all together, you kind of want it to boil now, while that's working to get to a boil, we're going to take our actual lemons, cut them in half. lengthwise and then take a spoon and scoop out all the lemon goodness in the middle.
I went ahead and saved the pulp so we can use it as cleaning supplies or we love to make avocado toast and put a little lemon on it. there, so I put it in the refrigerator because we're only going to use the crusts for this DIY. So what are we doing here? Actually, we're going to turn them into really cute decorative candles. I'm using some wooden wigs. Here I bought it from Amazon and will link them below. I like them because they have a nice strong metal base that weighs them down so they don't fly to the top and in this case we are.
We're not really going to be able to glue or tape anything to the bottom of these lemons, so in this case they work a little better, we just placed them right in the center of the lemons and then I wanted to give you some tips for melting the rest. of the wax, so here's a little tip. When you melt the wax in these candles you can see the bottom part is practically melted we just need to melt this top part now so what I like to do it and you have to do it very carefully just take something and push that solid wax into down and you can see that some of it will bubble up to the top and help disperse some of the heat from the bottom. to the top and then it will melt all the way to the bottom eventually just do this very carefully, you don't want to drop the glass or get splashed with the hot wax, be careful, but now you will see that it will melt evenly. this whole jar of wax for us and this is what it looks like it takes about 20 minutes so be patient but it will completely melt and then remove the wick from the inside there and then again very very carefully.
Take that jar and use something to protect your hands while you pour the wax into the lemons. Now, once the wax has some time to harden and set, you can see that I poured too much on this lemon if you get some wax on the outside rind. take a knife and scrape it off the side so it looks a little bit nicer and the same thing here we just cut our wigs so our candles look really pretty and then to totally show them off to you I just found this tray at Dollar Tree and take a bit of your White Rock and then just spread that rock out on the tray evenly and press the lemons against the rocks so they lay nice and flat and then add some greenery to give it more life and texture and really make this whole set Pop.
I think it's so pretty. I didn't test them to see if they would burn or melt the lemon peel, so if you've tried this, let me know in the comments below, but I would probably suggest just using them for decorative purposes, which I think looks really pretty. Now it's time to learn my secret on how I create distressed planters in one easy step. This is the secret here and I'll link it below, but if you're excited. for this tip hit the like button so this is what it is it's a lime wash glaze. I bought this from Lowe's, but I'll also link something similar in the description box below because I think it's actually out of stock online right now. so I'll give you another option, but look how easy it is, all you have to do is take that lime wash and paint it onto your surface with a brush.
The consistency really reminds me of Mon Podge, but it's not sticky at all. very thin and it also dries very quickly so I just put a small amount in the pot and then took a paper towel and rubbed it off. I didn't want any brushes. I just wanted it to look more random. so I went all the way around the pot and when I came back to the beginning it had dried out quite a bit so I went ahead and did a second layer the same way. Don't forget to cover the top edge and also the bottom edge. in the pot too so that you don't see fresh terracotta, which contrasts with the worn look of the outside, but how pretty, it's very easy and quick to make and now we're going to grab a couple of these Dollar stems.
Tree with the little lemons and we're going to make a little lemon

tree

, so this is some Dollar Tree Styrofoam pushing this into the bottom of our pot and then we're going to take both stems and join them together. so bring them together right in the center and then start twisting the center stems, the longer ones together so it looks more like one big stem instead of two stems together, trim the stem so they're a little bit shorter and then I'm going to press that on the styrofoam, if you want to use a little bit of hot glue here to hold them in place, you absolutely can.
Now we need to cover that Styrofoam, so Spanish moss is perfect for this again, an item you can find at Dollar Tree in the floral section we're going to take a couple pieces of that out and just stick it into the pot. I didn't use hot glue or anything here it just sits there and holds on to itself so just stick it in make sure you have enough to cover that styrofoam, easy, these lemon

tree

s are super popular right now especially during the summer, and canbe a little expensive so making this one only cost us about $5 and I say that's a win and obviously I hope you try that trick to resist your terracotta pots.
I love this idea. We're going to make a very complete lemon garland that looks super fancy using some photos from Dollar Tree and some of their individual lemons that you can take out of the box, they look like this, as you can see those lemons are a little bit smaller. We did it on purpose. You will also need some jute and some leaves. These are some Magnolia leaves that I have had forever from Hobby Lobby so go to the craft store and buy some of those or you can also use the leaves that come out of those photos for this or use what you have around the house , let's take those lemons that are. basically just styrofoam and we're going to take a whole and we're going to run it through the center, the long end of our lemons and we're going to use it on both sides.
My owl definitely wasn't long enough, so if you have a longer type of beak that would help. especially with these bigger lemons, I just pushed it in on both sides hoping they would line up and then I went in with a barbecue skewer here to make sure I had a hole all the way through, now we have to get these lemons into that. Jud, so we're going to do that, we're just going to take some duct tape and we're going to take some jute, we put it on a barbecue skewer and we feed it with that jute on the pointy end and then we use the tape to hold it all together. . basically it's going to make us a long needle.
I'm sure I'll get some questions about my tape dispenser too, so I'll link it below. I love that thing, it's made life so much easier, it's great, so now. We are going to take our barbecue skewer and we are going to put it through those holes that we have created in the lemons and we are going to alternate them from the smallest size and then the largest size and we will repeat until we have all our lemons on the string. Now I didn't have them. I should have bought more of these to make a longer one.
I would have loved to put this garland on my mantel, but I had this idea after the fact, so if you want a longer garland, definitely grab more. lemons and lemon picks from Dollar Tree, but this one still turns out pretty good once we get them all there, we'll tie knots on each end and use a little bit of hot glue to hold them together and then I have to do Is heat glue the leaves on the bottom of the lemons and fill in any spaces they may have and it all comes together nicely. Trim the tails of your J when it's all together and see how. nice this is very classy and has a high end look but again it was super affordable.
I wish I had made it longer, maybe I'll make a second one and I'll put them together because I think this would be beautiful on a mantel, but I still love this little one, so cute to accent a shelf or place in the center of your table as a centerpiece. This is one of my favorite summer sticker sets, so I'm bringing it out of retirement and making it available again. in my Etsy shop so I'll link it in the description box below. If you don't have a vinyl machine or cricket machine, this is a great way to easily recreate the product projects I'm sharing with you.
Or if you already have a vinyl cutting machine, all you have to do is use the slim font and create your own. Here are some easy and fun ways to use these decals to create your own summer lemon theme. Decorative decals are a very easy way. to really elevate things that you may already have and in this case I'm going to update some old mugs, a pitcher and a lemon squeezer, from my stash into ones that are more summer themed and obviously this lemon theme . This is an old photo I had and I just added this decal to the front very easily especially if you order from my Etsy store it will come like this with the transfer tape on top so you can easily remove it from the paper backing , press it down into place, rub it on and then remove the transfer tape from the top and you've got something that looks super cute and also very professionally made, so obviously this is the cute little lemon School Weezer, the little decal perfect for that and then added the rest into some cups.
You can also find mugs at Dollar Tree, which I've also done a lot in the past. I just added a decal to them. I got an affordable way to update my kitchen and coffee shop. I definitely miss my coffee bar a lot recently, not recently, probably a year and a half ago. Now we actually completely renovated our entire kitchen so if you want to watch that video I'll also link it below so this entire wall is now C. cabinets in a giant refrigerator and not a coffee bar so you wouldn't believe the transformation, but I love this lemon theme coffee bar and the way these decals really elevated just some simple cups, a pitcher, and a lemon squeezer to give it a really cute and fun theme touch, so again, if you're Interested in those decals, I will have them in my Etsy store.
I will appear a QR code on the screen to make it easier for you to make the payment or you can scroll down to the description. box below and click that link or head over to Etsy and you can find me at the Etsy shop called The Daily DIY. I have another real lemon project for you here using a couple of vases from Dollar Tree and some live flowers, but you can also make artificial flowers. Flowers too, if you want, we're going to take this mini green Bud vase from Dollar Tree and add our flowers to it.
Real flowers, obviously, we added a little bit of water in there too and then added some yellow flowers to keep our lemon theme hidden. At that point we are going to put this small vase in a larger vase, a cylinder vase from Dollar Tree. You just have to make sure your inner vase fits in the next size vase and then fill it with water and let's go. To cut some of these real lemons into slices, simply take the lemons and push them down into your larger vase, as you can see the inner vase holds the lemon slices in place, you just need to make sure you cut the lemon. this slice is thin enough, obviously mine was a little thick so I had to cut it a little, but it is very very cute, it makes a beautiful centerpiece or a lovely gift idea.
Mother's Day is right around the corner so that would be great. Mother's Day gift or centerpiece for a bridal shower, baby shower, getting together for lunch, consider this idea. I wanted to bring back a couple of my favorite lemon projects from the past and this one is a good one using nautical rope and a

dollar

tree burner. cover and we're also going to need some white and yellow paint, so we're going to turn this burner cover into a lemon tray, so cute, so you're just going to take some yellow paint and paint the burner cover, so I would recommend using some chalk paint for this because acrylic paint could chip or scratch once it's painted and chalk paint likes to grip and stay on very well on most things including this burner cover , so obviously this is the inside, so we turned the burner cover upside down painted the inside yellow and now we're going to make a circle inside the burner cover with a little bit of white paint and then draw like a style design daisy in the middle and then we will paint the entire exterior. with white and as you can see that transforms it into a lemon looking tray and we are going to give it some handles with that nautical rope by simply cutting a couple of pieces and then hot gluing the ends to the tray creating a sort of u. they stick out from the side of the tray a little bit easy doing the same thing on the other side a little bit of hot glue on both ends of that rope keeps it in place and now we can use it in our decoration oh my goodness.
I also love this DIY: It's turning an inexpensive doormat from Dollar Tree into a decorative lemon doormat. We're just going to find the center of this rug, mark it and then we put a Sharpie marker on a piece of jute and We're going to make a semicircle here, so we're going to start at the top and work our way down to the corners, so you're going to have to adjust your jice to make it smaller so we can get a mark from corner to corner so type I started in the middle you can see this one was too long so I went back and shortened that string until I got the right size semi circle for later be able to cut it and normal scissors cut these mats very easily, so you don't need to do anything special, just follow the markings for that semicircle.
Let's turn it yellow super easy and quick with a can of yellow spray paint. I gave it three coats to make sure I had a nice solid yellow color over that darker gray was a little difficult, so three coats works, then we're going to apply some white chalk paint here again, it sticks to almost everything and stays, so this will hold up better for us. than an acrylic paint, you can see, I created a smaller semi circle with that white paint and then I went in with the little Daisy shaped like daisy flower petals and then I painted between those lines to give us the lemon design.
It's also nice to come with a couple little splashes of white paint here and there, which makes it look like it sparkles or has some highlights and gives it a little more texture and style, so once it's completely dry, it really You can use it as a door mat, so just put it on a normal size door mat and some carpet tape; some double sided rug tape will help keep it in place and you can literally use it outdoors or be cute in front of a coffee bar or in front of the kitchen sink. or refrigerator, if you've made it to the end of this video, leave me a lemon emoji in the comments below, you all are the best DIYers and I just want to say thank you.
