ago I secretly began digging an underground tunnel from my workshop to my house. This is the full story. I have dreamed of doing this forever. Welcome to the Colin First channel. Beautiful now, also remember this from the last video. I basically added a long tail to it. I welded a nice long pole that is adjustable so we can stretch it and that will basically hold on while you push it against the rock face and break it completely silently. Basically, we'll hang this from the winch as well so we can get it at the right height and move it around nice and easy. I don't have to try to pick it up and stack it, which is one of the problems I had before, so let's give it a try.

And I kind of came up with my own little outfit. of rules we've never respected anything that wasn't fully supported, so what we're going to do is slide in a three mil plate and then we're going to use an old bass here to drive it. the ground and then we'll weld it across this edge and then that'll hold it up as we go and we can scrape underneath it, you know, weld all the edges up and stuff, and that should be fine, so we'll never go over underneath anything that doesn't have metal on top of us, that's the plan because the problem is this is a huge weak point because we have an open edge and then the part that we're sinking and it can basically fell off and we open it up near this morning and there was a lump on the floor that's a little stressful, so slide some metal, push it in, weld, weld, more, digging it out weird down here. so it's all flat, dripping down, you take a little bit more of this bottom and then we can stick the old Ramy thing in, stick it here to there and then push that corner in nice to get a nice chunk of bar on the other side here . one needs to lift a little bit here, push that up, lower the dam rights, weld it all together, tangle it up, put it back to safety, a little prouder, how the hell, and I'll show you right, so we've got all these huge oak pieces to make. something like that I'm using my hydraulic pointy thing to split them in half but I keep running back, okay, we're about five feet down, we're putting the systems in there, we know exactly what we're doing now.

I can't take that one out until that one is gone. It's not good enough now, so we have these decorative lights everywhere, it looks really good down here, now we've gone as far as we're going to go, for the moment, this is towards the house, so basically Let's stop here next, we're going to start going in that direction towards the bunker a little bit more, but before we do we need to get some order, these big rocks are basically waiting for the neighbors to come out, so put down the jackhammer here and crush them. There are a couple of pieces like this, like this shelf on the floor, that just won't lift up and if it lifts up in one piece, I mean, we're not going to lift that up, so drag. all of these down here ready to break out, empty out the remaining buckets and then start going a little bit in that direction and then basically, of course, the next thing is to make the steel lining inside of this surrounded with concrete and we have a new pointed stab.

This time it looks like a 600k run, so it goes up a lot more, so I'm not just moving it up, oh I have to change it, oh I have to change it again, right on the neighbor that came out, let's enter Jackhammer, we need Your Jackhammer people, we need to make use of this strange cloak in case we have toxic gases down here and need to escape quickly, attack this side slightly differently, basically with plasma, cut it down the middle of our blade so they are only . 200 deep into the slot first just to keep the front edge up because I remember on this side everything started falling too early so we kind of kept it from doing that on this one and then we'll relax a little bit. more, put the other half in, make a little curves and then carry on as normal, but there we are, but I have to fix this again because I almost broke the end chisel, oh Colin, you keep breaking wonderful things.

Colin's first little tip here, if you want to make a ram sleeve, just cut the arm off one of your sweaters and Jubilee hooks it on each end, but not a first Colin hoodie. No. Well, we've employed a slightly different approach on this. Basically we've put a mesh on top of this because you're thinking that when the concrete surrounds the inner tunnel, it will push up through the mesh and seal against the clay or rock much better than Flat is good and we also have a little more confidence in the fact that it's not actually going to collapse on us.

Now you can tell we're getting a little closer to the surfaces because my garden drops slightly as it goes. to the back of the shed because we've seen little holes in the clay where the roots used to be because they used to be flower beds before I built the shed, they rotted and left these little holes in the rock, which is really nice, like this that I only have a little more to clean a little more to get rid of and we're there my hair is full of clay to be the only way to get rid of it friends exposed okie doke, that one has the first little bit down Now this part with plasma cut in the middle, this is so when the concrete comes down the side, if it doesn't sink properly because it didn't sink in the bunker, we can put our arm under it and help pull it out. or of course we could just fill it from the middle ear and then push it all out so it's nice and solid now to keep it level we've basically welded these little tags here onto our support frame and then we've put little posts underneath to give it a little more support, we've had to focus on trying to line up the school stuff with the hole at the top and our hole we've dug isn't quite straight, but I can live with that, so next part it's going to go down we've got some little tabs welded on here that it can sit on so take that part out and then keep doing it basically we've got two pieces of flooring down there and Place this 50 mil box section here basically we put Kingspan insulation between this and then the floorboards on top, a little bit of insulation keeps it nice and warm so there you go, the third one is ready to go down and then put a fourth on and then let's start putting up some walls, hopefully the jobs dusty are almost over, yesterday was absolutely covered in it, here we are, it's a new day people, we've had a dusty stall, we're a little clearer, right? the floor is down the floor is level the floor is ready there is a little extra feature, look here.

I've put this little extra in because we're going to house our hydraulic pump in there, so we can basically be here all the time and then when we want to do the next part, we won't be dragging it over a piece of wood like we did last time, everything is connected to the hydraulic lines, it can be swept under the rug and then we can move on to the next exciting step. Okay, both sides of the walls are ready, we have our little kennel area with a fireplace down here, where we are going to place the bomb. Now we plasma cut the top edge of this again so it's all nice and straight. Now we can sink The Arches on top and that created so much smoke that we lost another parakeet in the next moment. You're okay, it's lighter, a slight oversight and our little pieces that were propping up the wall are a bit of metal now touching them. I have to cover them. Look at this. Look good. It is not completely welded. I have to go through all of them. the seams and things like that, but it's all put together now, the next job we basically have to connect this to the floor of the shed, but before we do that, we have a disk that cuts off this current like a trap door or whatever it's called completely. take it out, build it at ground level and then we can fill it with concrete around everything yeah oh weird look at that right in the middle of the cable thanks Tom thanks don't forget to follow me.

Basically, we have some of the spare insulation under the floor wedge that's on the outside and we pack it all in, fill it all in. Well now, of course, we have carpets to lay, we have to install the electricity correctly, at this point there was like a little pipe that we put in the walls in the concrete so that we can put the wires in somewhere that will connect correctly to the electricity from the house in the north and it will be dusted, but we are not there yet, we have a lot more to do now as far as ventilation, why we were doing this, you probably didn't notice it much in the video, but there was a huge fan on top blowing air in here all the time because obviously if you're welding and digging you need a new supply.

There we also had a bouncy castle blower in extreme times, I would give it a full Bell tab because That was like Mega loud, we don't really use that much now on top of the mat, oh it was heartbreaking. I had to remove the bottom three levels of carpet, they were completely destroyed, but there were so many marks on them that tell a story there is like a huge oil stain where the screw tank leaked the car is ruined there is a burnt mark where I brought the super bike to take 100 miles per hour Dodge all these other little marks from other little projects but unfortunately we totally wrecked it, they had to go now, next stage we have to go further towards the house, there's probably the same thing to do again , but in that direction and then towards the pantry there is a lot more work to do.

There is more moisture in the ground and that can cause the ground to swell slightly and the house to rise slightly, as you can see with my wonderful Lego and sponge demonstration. In the tunnel process, when we had hot concrete, the heat got to the cold part, of course, the condensation crept in and it kind of made some of the boards a little damp and a little dirty when running the cables. the plugs were pretty simple, we basically put them in the outside channel under the boards through the channels we had left, I mean basically the hydraulics that run it and now the cables are running it and then we ran the cables up to the plugs through these little ducks that we left it's like we knew we were going to do this now to put the plugs in the wall we use this amazing tool called our stud welder and this basically flash welds a small metal stud into the walls of the tunnel and then you can put the bushing on, screw it in, screw it in, it's nice and solid, then once I've sewn it up I need to go all the way down the tunnel, mark where all the bolt bushings are, solder them all together and then thread the wires.

Assemble and wire everything outside of the lights, this is a more complicated job, basically we have to run all the cables through the box section. Now I'm mounting the lights on the wall, but of course I'm not mounting just one light. oh no, there are a lot of lights, there are 14 lights in total and of course they extend throughout the tunnel. This might take a little more time, but to help me make the holes for the cables to go through, I got a new tool, why did I do that? I didn't buy one of these years ago, this is amazing right?

This was a bit of a hassle, so with all the major jobs sorted, it's time for some little ones to fix the hydraulics. remove the mine car Railroad get rid of all the welder and tools lower the compressor put it in position swoop it up and turn it on I can't help but hear it in the house so with a good brushing the walls, when you clean them, they look nice and shiny, then it's time for one last vacuum, remove some carpet and feel the luxury of the finished tunnel before starting a project, you always have an idea in your head of what it's going to be.

It seems, but what you don't know is how it will feel to be in its presence or use it. I have made vehicles and things that are super well designed. Compact and they do exactly what I want them to do, but this tunnel is basically just a hallway, it has warmth, it has a solid feeling.
