Yammie Noob Gave Me A Blown Up Turbo Charged Hayabusa

Apr 07, 2024
explain what it all is and how it works, and that will be a lot of fun, so next up is Dan. and I'm going to go get a cheeseburger and then we'll come back and smash this Dan, I mean, open it up, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, let's open it up and figure this out together, like this which now We're back to where we were, I'm excited to get started, man, it's going to be really interesting to see what we have to replace inside this thing. Okay, we're going to need a mallet, so this is what we have under the exhaust cams. here the intake cam is under here this is the grease line here we have the cam gears and the cam chain but yeah, we're increasing the oil pressure and then it crosses over and this is what oils the cams, let's release this cam chain ATT tensioner that thing is very tight, something tied up, well, yeah, it's tight, tight, there's no movement here , okay, this is a marked exhaust, this is a marked intake, remember when we put it back together we make music with carb tunes, except there are no carbs on this bike, so now it's the injector.

It gets stuck but you lose, that's what you never want to do, just throw a lightning bolt in there like it's no joke, it's going to be that kind of Friday, no it's not like that, that's how close we were to the point of giving up on the whole project. throw it away, there was a lot of tension there, screaming, slow down, yeah look there was so much tension on this cam chain it was pulling the cams towards me, not cool, not what you want, look now we got some tension or a little relief it looks like maybe we were having a lubrication issue here on the top end look how this is shiny and then you see how it's showing some wear here so this is where we had our issue so that's what they call it valve hubs so these would be shims under the hubs so when you adjust the valves what you're doing is replacing the shim more or less so you can get the valve clearance that you want what I'm going to do is pull the whole head. no load so everything stays in the head and then when it's on the bench I can lay everything out and keep it where it needs to be track so let's

turbo

let's get it out oh I gotta get oil out.

More Interesting Facts About,

The lines will also be interesting if the oil comes out of here because it doesn't drain the new oil. I think they threw away the oil before giving it to you. I think it's okay. I'm going to accept that, let's go with confidence, but. check no, I have full confidence today, okay, this has the potential to make a very big mess too, okay. Some oil there, let me have a cup, oh boy, when you thought they drained us, I don't think they did it right, which maybe they did. maybe it's just a little bit here at the bottom, but it hasn't stopped coming out yet, well, that's a problem, okay, new strategy, let's take this to the side of the table a little, a little, a little, okay, stop, move it a little. little my way is fine, well, there yes, of course, that's exactly where it ended, as if we couldn't have done that if in the end we tried to get into the drain pan, let's fill a handful of this oil to see what it's about treats. we see, I mean it's not super shiny or anything, there's a little bit of metal in there, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be okay, so now the

turbo

should be ready to pull, let's move this so we don't step on that.

It would be nice if the oil was dripping all over the floor, oh shoot, I think there was more than more than we realized, do your thing, pigm, oh come on, oh man, I feel like I'm in a race Because I do not want to. the oil to touch my pliers oh no Craig, that was fun, yeah, okay, let's attack that very differently next time, boy, oh daisies, does that look good? oh no Craig, hit your pliers, time's up, ah damn, Craig, you. You're leaving a big mess for Greg to clean up later, right, he likes it, he needs something to do now, let's rip this head off again, okay, let's start with the initial oil for the right knee, of course, I think this is ready to be removed.

There, what do we have? Wow, I'm going to say that's your problem. Oh look, a piston broke here too. Look, you can see the top of the ring. You can see the brands here. Yes, sure you can, but. You see how they're shaped, that's because the face of the valve just slams into the piston, yeah, and then this right here would be part of the valve stem. Wow man, it just destroyed everything that was there and I'm guessing it's from the valve stem. of the valve stem, I think embedded there, it just happened. I bet we can see the rod, yeah man, that's right through the piston.
I wonder where the other parts went well, so we're going to need a valve, what does it do? Do you think we can just replace that valve and run both pistons all the way to the top end? Well, that's something I wonder if we can get away with with the cylinder. We are going to need to replace the cylinder. I guess we'll do it next and see. let's take these two bolts out That's it buddy I haven't been on an inline four in a long time I'm almost afraid to say how long it's been oh boy it would help if I took the tube out if I took the line off coolant, yes, from the cooling line, oh yes, that would make a big difference.
Lie to me, so G there must be two screws. Now you have to remove another screw. Fuck Craig, take this thing apart, ah, there we are. Come on, this will just lift up from there, okay, there we go, cylinder, oh, there's still some cooling there, shoot which valve hit the cylinder wall, look there and there, there's a lot of damage here, looks like we almost melted a piston, you can see this one here. Good rods are tight, yeah, well, yeah, we found the problem, but yeah, those rods feel tight, man. I don't know, I'll have to look at some parts to see what we have, what are you going to do about it?
Get a replacement or send it back. We take it out to fix it, we just polish it, we just polish it, man, the bottom half of this engine looks clean, okay, we're going to take the oil filter off and open it up, see what's in there, we're going to take the crankcase out. oil, see what kind of debris is in there, hopefully everything will be clean enough that I don't have to take the engine apart and redo everything, fingers crossed, I don't see any shine so far, that's good, let's open this up. I need like inverted scissors for left-handed people.
I really hoped that was going to do it. There are chances that he will achieve this. The cutter is also quite thin. Hell no, my goodness, I try not to use a saw because I don't want to skew our results, however, we don't have all day to do this, man. I need better, um, tin snips, those things aren't worth a damn, they're not worth a ton of beans and I hate using them like I said, I hate using a saw because you know then you can get debris in there and lose the results. Know? Did I get anywhere by doing great things for America?
Apparently, well, the good news is that now you can't touch this without touching a sharp edge that's clean there you go now once you start it then it's something easy like opening a can of beans something like that there you go, look, That wasn't so bad, man, I don't want to cut myself trying. It's really hard not to cut myself a little bit, nothing too crazy, although it actually looks pretty clean, yeah, it doesn't look horrible, okay, there are some pieces in there, it's not horrible, I don't know though, I'm leaning towards, we just run it.
I mean, based on what you've taken so far, it looks like it was rebuilt okay, yeah, yeah, I think the work is fine, so what went wrong. I'm thinking what happened is that he probably missed a turn and floated. valve and that's what did all this, this here looks like it was running lean or it was detonating and we had some detonation problems and then these other pistons have really strange wear like here and here it's interesting that so much heat builds up here on these pistons and in the cylinder bore, when you have an Edge as small as that, it gets very hot and I wonder if that's what we were because this one here is the same way, so I'm thinking it probably floated a valve here and that's what did this and then just a bad tune caused the other damage, that's what I'm going to do, so how can we stop ourselves from tuning it better in the future?
That's the main thing, that's the main thing, we'll tune it better and uh, it should be good to put a lot of yamy booa oil on these mats Craig, mm, you're going to keep them like this so they're more valuable, yeah, there's a piece of the stem of the valve, boy, all big pieces, uh, that's plastic, ah, that's what the cam chain tensioner slides on, look, it broke, look, there's a rib here mhm and there's no here, oh, those are the pieces there, but the big chunks are good too if it was a lot of chips and little pieces, all of that just gets absorbed.
It clogs oil passages and things like that, pieces that big are actually pretty good. I do not know, man. I'm thinking about ordering some top end parts and keeping this crankcase together because I think everything will be fine. we can run it and there's a good chance that if we run it and we don't get it right, it'll just fall back into pieces, so next time we'll be able to pull it all apart and do, yeah, we'll be able to pull it all apart. again, damn, what did you do? What did I do? I think we'll end it here for now.
I need to sit down and order a bunch of parts and we solved the problem. I think there was probably a mistake. change or something a valve floated the valve was traveling south it hung up a little bit the Pistons were traveling north and hit seen that before and then once that happened I think it was just chaos from there we also have some signs of detonation or running lean I don't know, we're going to have to address that. I'll address that once the bike is together and we tune it on the dyno, now that we know what's wrong.
I have a lot of things to clean. I have to order parts next time we're going to put this engine together, put it back on the bike, fire it up and then head to the dyno and tune it up. It was only like two cheeseburger breaks to take this thing apart. How many? it's going to be to get back together 14 depends on how lazy I feel depends on how motivated I feel depends if it's raining thanks for watching don't forget to like and subscribe Dan is going to put a video here and here check it out I know you're going to love it have a great weekend thanks for watching see you later I'm going to put them in the bottom corner just to spite you, would you?
