I have worked with Ogera a lot, they are great people and I sincerely thank them for allowing me to borrow their Specter for the day. Alright, for the cirks and features of the new Rollsroyce Spectre, the first all-electric Rollsroyce. I'm going to start with a little overview, starting with the fact that this is not just an electric version of the Rolls-Royce Wraith, this is The Wraith, it is a beautiful Rolls-Royce Coupe. but it runs on gasoline, it shares some similar body lines with the Spectre, its overall design, but the Specter is a totally different car, in fact it is not even built on the same platform, the Specter shares its platform with the Phantom plus large and the cinin SUV and, of course.

More Interesting Facts About,

2024 rolls royce spectre review 450 000 ultra luxury electric car...

This one is all electric with 57.77 horsepower and about 665 lb-ft of torque, big numbers, but again, this is a big car, it weighs about 6600 lbs, which is a huge number, but it makes sense considering all the

luxury

and opulence it must include. a Rolls-Royce, despite its weight, still rolls pretty fast, it says 0-60 in the low 4 second range, which is impressive considering its size, but makes sense with 577 horsepower now range-wise. of conduction. Rolls-Royce says around 260 miles between charges, which is not a huge figure, but Rolls also says that the vast majority of customers will do most of their charging at home so they don't have to worry about getting to the next Walmart parking lot charging station on a road trip, although this is the first electric Rolls-Royce, it's just the beginning, Rolls says its entire lineup will be electrified by 2030, so more EVS Rolls are coming.

As for the price, I happen to have the window sticker here in my hand, the base price of a new one. The Specter costs around $423,000 with destination and then you add options which are plentiful, this car has a sticker price of just under $520,000 which means it has around 100 Grand in option and throughout this video I will add little bits of tin of optional extras to let you know. How much do some of these things cost? Okay, so the quirks and features, let's start with getting inside and the key that's wrapped in leather. Yes, the key is leather in your car.

They are plastic rolls. They said no, they didn't even bother with metal or aluminum. It wasn't good enough, the key is wrapped in leather and that's the level of

luxury

we're talking about here and it only gets crazier, flip the key and you can see the buttons but no words, no pictures, just a triangle and a square. and the Rollsroyce logo, which is a rich people code, they know what it means, you don't, but the door, once you've unlocked it, the door handle is on the front, which is certainly unusual. You might be wondering why it is because the door is rear hinged. it opens towards the front so it's easier for you to get out and it opens automatically, you open it and give it a little tug and then it electronically automatically opens the rest of the way and then you can climb inside, but we're not quite there.
It's not there yet because on the inside of the door frame you have this silver circle with the Rolls-Royce logo that is an umbrella. You can push it in, take it out and then use it while walking around rainy London driving your Specter. Now on to this particular Specter. The umbrella canopy is black. I think that's the part that makes it the real umbrella. It's black and costs an additional $1,775. Additional $1,800 to make the umbrella canopy black. I wonder what is standard, but there is still more to cover with the doors, starting with The stars are fine, it is already well known that Rolls-Royces have a starry night roof.
You can see it here, it makes the roof of the car look like a beautiful night sky, but now they offer the same thing on the doors if you pay. extra you can get a starlight theme door design that this car has and the cost of that option is $13,300 extra for Starlight doors and get this when you get into the Specter you sit down and put your foot on the brake you are ready to handle the door closes automatically you don't pull it you don't press a button you don't talk to it it just knows what to do and you don't do anything it's handled electronically and automatically it's wonderful but again it makes sense that the doors close on their own because they're giant like I said this one car weighs 6600 lbs.
Rolls-Royce says they've put 400lbs of weight into this car just for soundproofing, in other words to make the car quiet, an extra 400lbs just for that. the door is huge, it would be heavy to close it, so it happens automatically and it's not just the sound deadening that makes this door and this car so heavy. Take a look at the power mirror control. It's this aluminum joystick. It is not plastic like any other. The car is aluminum because everything has to feel and look beautiful and that theme is repeated throughout this car, there is basically no plastic anywhere here, but anyway, next we go up inside the Specter and I'm going to start this walkthrough for the peculiarities of the interior and features with the materials because they are part of this experience, take a look, for example, at the mats you can see: this beautiful thick mat not only cleans your feet regularly like in most cars , but they are comfortable, fantastic and beautiful rugs. continued the dials are leather wrapped look at this the climate control adjustment dial is leather wrapped in your car you may be lucky to have a leather wrapped steering wheel in this car it has a leather wrapped dial to increase the fan speed and Speaking of the climate controls, the vents themselves are this beautiful chrome metal that looks and feels fantastic and even the switches to close and open the vents are heavy chrome metal.
Everything is perfect when it comes to materials in a Rolls-Royce, another great peculiarity of this one. The car is the theme of stars and starlight. I love stars, so I love this. I already mentioned that the door panel is covered in this crazy Starlight option and the headliner that you can see looks like a starry night sky, which is a really cool feature, kind of a gimmick. but you have to admit it's cool, but there's more: on the passenger side of the dash you have Specter printed like a galaxy or a Milky Way of stars and it looks really cool and when you want to use voice control, you press the button on the microphone on the steering wheel and look on the screen, the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament emblem has appeared.
All In Stars is a cool touch and by the way, if you're wondering about that starry sign I mentioned, it's free. I guess it looks standard on the Spectre, but the little Galaxy design on the passenger side of the dash costs an extra $5,425 and the clock that appears next to it costs an extra $4,725, so on this 18-inch space you just spent about $ 110,000, okay? So beyond the stars, the beautiful materials, let's move on to some unusual and quirky controls, starting here on the center console, where you have these two switches, they look like window switches, but they actually control the doors that I mentioned before.
When you brake, the door closes automatically, but if you are the passenger, you obviously can't put your foot on the brake, so you press this switch and close the door, and the driver can do it too if he wants to close the door but can't. still ready to drive, you have these switches here to do that and here's an interesting Quirk and all the new Rolls-Royce models the climate control temperature setting is this dial here you can see it goes from red to blue and there's a top and a lower part of the dial has no actual temperature readings in this car but you just adjust it until you feel comfortable and then it's all set and it goes up or down depending on where you want the air temperature to come out and there are more interesting controls.
For example, the presets in the center labeled 1 through eight not only control the radio presets, you can program them to do many different things throughout the car, such as you can have a preset send you home in the system navigation and As you run your fingers over the presets, the infotainment screen gives you a preview of what each item does in case you've forgotten, which is a brilliant idea on this particular Specter. The last preset has been saved to lower the hood ornament in front of you. and the spirit of ecstasy literally disappears with the push of a button and now you're in stealth mode, the spirit is gone and no one will know you're driving a $520,000 car unless of course they look at the rest, but it's still a trick great party.
Next you look at the overhead console and you'll find some buttons here that you won't see on any other vehicle, this one has stars and then the one next to it has two more stars. one on the left turns the night star roof on or off in case you don't want it and the one on the right changes the brightness of the roof star buttons in a car. I guarantee you don't have this in your car. An interesting element, the gear selector in the Spectre, is just this action coming out of the steering column, quite subtle and unassuming.
Actually one interesting item has a button labeled b which means braking and increases engine braking so if you turn it on. In fact, it will increase your regenerative braking while driving to help charge the electrical system of this car or you will turn it off and the regen boost will disappear now, as for these screens and technology in this car, the center screen is pretty good using technology surely . Borrowed from BMW which is the parent company of Rolls-Royce, it's excellent, you can see it's a touch screen, very easy to respond, it does what you want, it's intuitive, nice, easy to use and I love the touch screen. home where you can simply slide the different tiles to view. whatever you want displayed front and center in your home this is a great infotainment system it works reasonably well the screen is a bit small considering the price of this car and what they are doing some of the competitors, but it is very usable, very responsive, excellent touch screen and it is not. just a touch screen, you can also adjust it using this dial here in the center wrapped in leather, of course, and some buttons around it.
The buttons go to various parts of the screen, such as the navigation map or home or your phone. The dial allows you to select individual items. on the screen and when you turn the dial the spirit of ecstasy stays perfectly straight it doesn't twist which is a cool party trick for this car, as for the gauges the gauge cluster of course is also a screen in this car. The gauges are pretty simple, nothing too messy or excessive really. Here on the left you have your power reserve, which basically shows how much power you are using at any given time.
In the center you have the speedometer which shows, of course, your speed. true, you have scope, there are a few other things here like the temperature and time of your odometer, but basically this is a pretty low-key gauge cluster display situation, not much going on here, they wanted to keep it simple and elegant, I'm sure that hand next we will move. in the back seat of the Specter, which is actually a bit of a pain getting into the rear hinged doors and this sloping roofline of the Coupe actually makes it a bit more difficult to get into the back even though the doors hinged rears help you with getting into the front now it's worth noting that this will be the case for all Specter models because these are all coupes there is no convertible there is no sedan there is no SUV at least for now the Specter is a coupe and therefore So getting in the back is a little difficult, but once you get back here you'll see that it's anything but difficult on the one hand, there's a lot of room, even though this is a two-seat coupe, it's huge and there's a lot of room back here for the seat. rear. passengers, these are adult-sized rear seats and come with some nice amenities, for example their own individual rear climate zones.
You can see here the dial to adjust the fan speed and the dial to adjust the temperatureIn the back. You never see that feature for the back seat. passengers in coupes, but it is here in this car that you also have heated rear seats, as you can see, another nice touch of luxury, and sitting in the back gives you greater access to gaze at the starry sky on the headliner, which is just incredibly beautiful and of course you have the same wonderful materials you did on the front, like the metal chrome vents that feel so good, the chrome metal climate switches to open or close the vent, and the lined fan speed dial in leather are carried back here, some other nice touches in the back. your own rear window that opens, this button here is your window switch, you can roll down the window, which is not always seen on bumps, but you have it here, there is also a cup holder in the center, between the two rear seats , and you have this nice armrest. and comfortable but it also serves as a storage lid, you can open it and you have space to store things or connect your devices because there are also two USBC charging ports in this storage area, so even if you are in the back seat of a coupe which is usually a kind of punishment box almost looks like a prison, in this case it is quite a beautiful place to be and by the way, if you are wondering about the color of this interior, it is orange, as you can see the seats and several other pieces, Rolls-Royce Mandarin calls it and, surprisingly, it's free, not about $20,000.
Optional interior, however, there is something very expensive here. You see this little white piping on the side of the seats, not the stitching which is separate and has a separate cost, just the piping on the side of the front and rear seats costs an additional $4800 Rolls-Royce. Calls it colored piping on the cashmere gray seats, okay, when you get out of the Specter you'll probably be wondering what UPF is on the front. This car does not have a gasoline engine, it is purely electric, but it has this long front bonnet like most Rolls-Royce models. what's underneath here the answer is well there's actually a Quirk we have to discuss before we get there to open the hood you pull a latch in the driver's footwell you actually pull it twice to open the hood and you can see how to do that and the spirit.
The rapture disappears, it goes down and to the side, I guess to provide enough room for the hood to open, it's a cool trick, but anyway, when you open the hood, once you've unlatched it you just lift it up and you discover there. There's a huge silver panel under here, there's no engine, there's no front trunk, you don't have any extra storage space up here, instead there's a huge, fancy silver panel that just reminds you that you own a Rolls- Royce. Don't open your own hood we can take care of that now even though this car has no engine it makes noise some governments require electric cars to make a noise to alert pedestrians because otherwise they would be completely silent and this one makes quite a lot of noises interesting here it's in front and here it goes backwards in reverse surprisingly those noises were designed by Hans Zimmer who is an Oscar winning music composer, he did the music for the movie The Lion King, the guy who did the music for The Lion King .
He also created the sound of a Rolls-Royce Specter going down the street and that's just hilarious. Now there are two other things worth pointing out. From here, number one, you have a giant grill. You can see a very distinctive Rolls-Royce design element in this car. The only thing is it doesn't really need it, an electric motor doesn't need air coming in from the outside, so this grill is almost closed, as you can see behind it, it's just there for show, but it certainly looks good as far as The wheels are 23 inches. The wheels are huge and expensive according to the window sticker.
The wheels cost an additional 10.6$75. Rolls-Royce calls them 23-inch wing-spoke polished wheel, more than 10 thousand dollars, by the way, another interesting thing about the wheels besides their huge At the expense of the small RR emblem in the center of the wheel, you can see which is upright and, in fact, always is, that emblem has weight, so that even when the wheels turn it always remains upright, so the Rolls-Royce logo is always displayed in the correct direction when you're driving the car, that's a nice little touch and we finally move to the back of the Specter. Some interesting things to discuss here, starting with the styling of the rear, now on the front there isn't much distinctive, especially with the lighting which actually looks nice, but a BMW comes in the back and you have these very distinctive vertical tail lights, They look beautiful and are beautifully integrated into a beautiful rear.
The rear of this car is so smooth, so clean, so curved and basic that it's not cluttered with unnecessary design it just looks very elegant, it looks like Rolls Royce, which I'm sure is what they are going for and they certainly achieved it. It's a beautiful and very distinctive rear end, but climb into the trunk of the Specter which of course is electric and you'll discover some interesting things, for example the entire trunk is carpeted, not only on the bottom but also on the sides and even Inside the trunk, everything is carpeted, so any luxury items you carry will have a nice, comfortable trip back here.
You will also notice that the trunk is quite deep, you have a big space where you can push things all the way up against the back seat, so although you don't have any storage space in the front trunk, you do have a pretty decent rear trunk in this car and there are even more storage space underneath: you lift this leather Loop, raise the load floor and you have additional Ben NE space where you can store a lot more stuff if you want. By the way, one interesting thing about that lower storage compartment in the trunk is on the trunk floor that you lift up to access it is magnetized, so you lift it up and then you stick it on this magnetic panel on the top of the trunk and then it stays put so you can reach into the bottom of the trunk for whatever you want without having to hold the trunk floor like a commoner and another cool quirk of the trunk area in the Spectre, the button to close it right here is the outline of a rollsroyce with the trunk open, you push it and the trunk closes, which is nice.
Cool little touch, not just a generic car when you pay for 520 Grand, your buttons have pictures of your exact car, like they should be fine, driving the Specter now the first thing I think about this car 577 horsepower is a big number, no it's so much compared to a lot of new electric cars, you know you can get a thousand horsepower, no problem, a lot of electric cars, more batteries, more motors, no big deal, all these cars are incredibly heavy, so why Rolls-Royce doesn't do it so well? I don't really intend to be a performance brand, the goal is enough power to do what you want to do, they used to call it enough power and that's what we're going for here, this car has enough power, I have to say it drives for there. it's what you feel, it actually feels faster than I expected, you put the pedal to the metal and you get a pretty instantaneous amount of decent power, but it's not a sports car by any means, that's not the point, that's not what they However, what they do offer is a silence that is unlike any other vehicle.
It is incredibly calm and serene. Here you are completely and absolutely isolated from the sounds happening around you, as I said. Rolls-Royce has put 400 pounds of soundproofing equipment into this car, you can certainly tell that it feels like nothing more than a complete hush chamber of pure silence inside this car, it's wonderful, now let me hit the bottom here, woo wow, yeah, there's pretty decent acceleration, especially when you consider the fact that this car finally weighing 6,600 lbs is fast. I don't want to say it's sports car crazy, but it's faster than I expected. You would be given the power number.
You know, I've driven 800 to 900 horsepower electric cars. It doesn't feel much faster than this, it's surprisingly fast. Did you know that Rollsroyce would eventually launch an electric car. It actually makes sense with the ethos of the brand because ultimately you can make electric cars so quiet and that's it. exactly what they have done now $525,000 for only 260 Mi of range and for only 577 horsepower 06 4S doesn't make sense on paper, you can beat that with other cars that cost much less, but that's always been true with rolls Rice. The cars that make the most sense have never been on paper you have to experience them you have to sit inside this car and feel the float you have to feel the silence the comfort of this car I mean you don't hear the powertrain at all they have completely eliminated You don't hear any kind of anything, there is some tire noise on really rough roads, but it's pretty impressive how this car glides quietly, serenely, luxuriously, it just feels so good and so nice now.
What I find interesting is that Rollsroyce decided to lead the world of electric vehicles with a large coupe, which is a segment of the market that is practically dead. Frankly, I wonder if that decision was the right one. I think an SUV maybe would have done more. sense or even a sedan that the Rolls-Royce type is known for, but instead we got a large coupe, which is a surprise, it limits the buyer pool a bit, especially considering how many people want you to know SUVs or at least practical. four-door cars, the simple truth is, I mean, for most people they will never understand, they will never be able to understand why this costs so much money and I get that ridiculous price of $525,000 for this car, but what I have discovered about Rolls-Royce, ultimately, is the MercedesBenz, the S-Class, which is all the luxury car you will ever need.
It gets you 99% of the way there, but to get that last 1%, it's not a linear cost that lasts. The 1% is like that in terms of how 400 pounds of sound deadening materials and the star headliner and this beautiful leather and the feel and the sound and everything about this car is on a different level in a way that's hard to achieve. most people probably wouldn't even be able to discern how different it is, but if you've already owned all the s-classes and other normal cars and you want to step up to something truly opulent, truly obscenely luxurious.
This does that and Rolls-Royce has managed to do it with an electric car and in a fantastic way that doesn't compromise any of their Rolls-Royces. It feels like a Rolls-Royce but even quieter, so smooth, so beautiful. It's so beautiful inside but now you have an electric drivetrain it's almost like the shift is perfect if you know the stuff from before you know what it is now and I'm sure that's what they were going for and they've achieved it so That's the new Rollsroyce Specter. the most comfortable, most opulent and luxurious electric car of all time and now it's time to give the new Specter Doug's score and Doug's score is 69 out of 100, which puts the Specter right up there against other luxury cars high-end and expensive EVS, the Specter.
It is one of a kind, much more beautiful, luxurious, impressive and expensive than a Lucid Air or a Tesla Plaid and more athletic than most other Rolls-Royce models thanks to its great power and decent handling. The downside is the price, as the Specter is insanely expensive. On the other hand, would you expect anything more from Rolls-Royce?
