FSD AVOIDING traffic cones WITHOUT confirmation! - Tesla Autopilot in a UK City #14 Carlisle

Mar 26, 2024
It widens quite a bit here and now this comes straight out of Carlisle, so it was actually a straight drive through the center of Carlisle and it was very, very easy as the roads here seem very easy and actually quite quiet. It's nice that there's no one parked on the road or at least not too many people and if they are, most people are parked here on the sidewalks like that anyway so I'm actually a big fan of how it is situated this currently, well, so I have to go around it now because obviously yes, I know it's there picking up people again, that's something that will have to be able to judge for itself whether it can go around a bus like that, a bus stop or whether you know people who just stop and drop people off, all of that needs to be built into the system, so what are we going to do here?

It will be interesing. try to pass these cars yeah but it's a way to try again I think it was just a mini oh my god no yeah he still gets too close to the parked cars for my liking like he really needs to get around them and he needs so I can get him to tire on the line or slightly above the line so he can pass the cars, but I don't think he'll do that yet. You see it's starting to get a little busier now, but I think it's

autopilot

sometimes. works best when it's busy with other cars to regulate, it's a nice Jack to go out there I don't know, maybe people up north think differently and don't park their cars on the road I like it, do you like it?

More Interesting Facts About,

fsd avoiding traffic cones without confirmation tesla autopilot in a uk city 14 carlisle...

Look, just so everyone knows I didn't run that red light, I was just running it so they wouldn't have to sit in

traffic

with me and everything was fine, it's getting a little more old fashioned, here we have a car here on the side of the road that wasn't turning didn't seem to be a problem but again I just wasn't

avoiding

it or looking to avoid it enough and I really want it to be obvious you need to make an almost obvious turn so you know the car is there and you is surrounding. Okay, we're going to go straight, so we'll stay in the right lane and the cars will be a little slower.

He picks up the pace, which leaves that kind of space, which is a little irritating. This must be Carlile's car area because there are many car dealers here. Well, now we're going to reach a big roundabout that's going to say wow, what's up! What the hell was going on there, which will take us to the m6, so in this right lane and of course the car won't stop on red lights so we'll have to stop, that's quite useful actually, get in this lane because you're allowed to sit in front of everyone else which is cool and we can do a little toss up to 30 if this light ever changes let's see yeah I've got 30 there oh just finish and go okay, Obviously, I'm not going to leave it. the car made this roundabout because i couldn't do it that's not going through a red light still amber yeah nailed it okay now we can go ahh what straight to a 50 okay it should be on

autopilot

navigation so let's see what this is going to do do is going to be very interesting because there's roadworks going on, oh oh, look what he did, he's not going to do it in time, I don't see, he wasn't fast enough there, but he actually evaded the first charge of

cones

that was.

It's pretty interesting to see that he actually evaded the first of our

cones

, but yeah, that second cone that I honestly didn't see until I liked it was on the road, so it was even kind of a surprise to me, so that would have been a big one. surprise for the car too, but as you can see here, navigating on autopilot works and it actually says that it knows there are cones here so it can see the fact that there is construction going on. We will go here to overtake and check the lanes. however the lane works fine, it looks like there is a speed camera installed there on the bridge but these are average speed traps anyway so I'm not sure why there is a speed camera there too, this is working well and this is where obviously the autopilot is the most used and I have to say it's quite successful at the moment so now we have about five miles and six miles of highway until we get to our charging point so let's see how we get on It's going on this highway and we'll try to involve a couple of lane changes as well.
I want to make a couple of on and off ramps, but I'm not sure where the on and off ramps are. In fact, I may have found one that I'm going to make. an on and off ramp is fine at 1.9 miles so let's see what question yes 1.9 miles autopilot navigation is on and we're going off the ramp in a minute so I really want to get on that first lane relatively soon, okay anyone? it's at my door and I think I'll do it from this truck, yeah, we'll go by this truck and see that it doesn't actually say here that it wants to take me off the highway, so maybe there's not an interesting intersection on the left.
I'm looking at my GoPro now and it looks like there's a lot of room down here to get in and like a door and then back out because I noticed some people also complain about getting into the first lane on the GoPro because it's wide angle. when that gap seems big, you know if no one in their right mind would enter that gap, for example, this gap here in front of us could enter like that's about the distance that I would consider entering as something smaller than It doesn't really make sense. pass, but with the GoPros I found that it really makes it seem like you can pass a lot sooner and in much smaller spaces, but here we go with a little lane change, as you can see.
No problem at all and hopefully we'll make another lane change in a second to beat these Aldi lane changes. Except for some bad weather before this trip and a lane change being cancelled, lane changes are normally made nine times. out of ten successful, okay, now we're coming out of 50 and we're going into 70. I'm going to start speeding it up. One thing I have also noticed that is worth keeping an eye on is to see. where he tells me to go through the lanes because obviously navigating an autopilot tells me what lane he thinks I should be in and in my opinion he sometimes gets it wrong a lot so now why would he change lanes now?
Oh, actually, there's a The truck was coming, but there was no way the indicator wasn't on when it said to do that, so even though it was actually correct, you know, John, I mean there was no reason for him to go there and if that happened on its own without I confirm how it can be done in the United States. I think I would be pretty upset and the people behind me would have been upset because you change lanes a little bit randomly, so here, for example, let's see how long it takes us to get back. into that first nice, fast lane, that's a lot better than what you used to tell us to pass and now how about getting into that first lane?
It will ask us to enter the first lane. It doesn't seem like that and I think it's because he can honestly see that car over there and he's worried that we're going to get too close to it, but for my taste I want to be in this left lane. Now there's no point in sitting in that left lane, so you just need to judge a little. a little better which lane you should be in because obviously you need to judge if people are going to cross lanes, going faster, slower, etc., so this is the area where I had those problems before, where I said it indicated well and it which I think I've put it down to the lines on the road so I think I put it down to the arrows we have these big arrows that when there are big arrows they actually block the side lines here I think that's confusing welcome to Scotland so Now we're going to go to Scotland for a while just to get to this charger that's just a mile away, so like here, you see the arrow that takes off the sides, that's what's causing the problems, that's what that causes the problems.
I don't think we can really pass all these cars and get to the other side in time, so I'll sit behind everyone here, sit nice and far back, I'll put it on full blast, which It's seven o'clock and also the wipers are on, so I'm a little intrigued to see when the automatic wipers decide to turn on. I definitely would have used my windshield wipers by now. I probably would have pressed the water button too, but it doesn't seem like it. like it's interesting, okay, here we go, this is the last thing of the day, which is getting to this Brett Ratner gas station, here we go, there are the windshield wipers, this could be interesting because of the bad weather, but let's see what it does here during the half. one mile it's already telling us to move into the first lane, which is the one we're in, so we're in the first lane early for the car, there's no one behind us, okay, so I'll let it do, obviously. what you want here, but if you don't do it perfectly, I'll let you continue a little bit 200 yards 100 yards, okay, let's see how you do it, it's indicated, yes, you did it well and it's slowing us down, it's slowing us down. down, it's going good, here we go and now it's just trying to turn the corner, wow, okay, no, they're not behind us yet, but there are no lines, that's why the car struggles so much.
I'm just double checking that. There's no one behind us, look, it's hugging this right lane here and now it's stopping. I think so, I'm just going to wait and see, okay, press the accelerator to continue, they'll press it, oh, I didn't like that, now it's aborted. I'm not sure what he didn't like in the end, but he wasn't sure about something and I'm not sure what that was, let's see if we can get him to do something down here. Don't know. where are the superchargers so this is mediocre learning so I'm going to set this to 19 and just see if we can engage autopilot down here no it doesn't look like it wants to go back on it really should be able to. to work down here, it should stay here and you know be able to see that this is a path, but I'm surprised that there are still no lines, it doesn't work for Otter, there are no lines, I don't like it in terms of autopilot, now, in What direction should I go?
Think about it and yeah, you can see that they have new signs like Tesla everywhere, so you see this little sign with a little pod dot on it and that basically tells you which way to go to charge your car and then, yeah, there. in front of us, so it works fine, the autopilot doesn't want to work down here, although there is obviously a big obstacle in speed. Oh, and here we go to the superchargers, so thanks everyone for watching. I hope you enjoyed this video of us going through Carlile. In fact, I'm going to Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham in a minute, so those will be the next few episodes.
I think so, I'm taking a trip up north so it's time to get online and grab a bite to eat. Take a nap and I'll see you in the next video. Don't forget to see the case of your dreams. Our sponsor becomes a sponsor if you want to support the channel and drive safely.
