attack we're going to pretend to be a wireless access point that you normally connect to, let's say in a hotel, so if you go in there and try to log in to something called Four Seasons Guest. Well, as you expect, Wi-Fi is all around you. I would like to be able to log in and a person who just arrived will think I am a guest. I must connect to the guest network.

Clear. Now, if you go to a website that you would normally use, like Yelp.com. Well, and you usually know what happens when you go to a website right after you've logged into a hotel network and it says, "oh, log in, you're a new user." So here it asks you for your room number and your last name, which normally you would do and I can actually see your information appear here, so part of the attack is it tries to convince you that you need to do an update, you know, your machine is outdated and there is one of those, so you will want to click on the download button because it will convince you to do this and once you have run it, you will already be exploited.

I can see it here and it says: I can use this Macbook. Let's say if I want to take a screenshot of your webcam, I have a special command here to essentially access your little camera here. If I say run, here we go. I just saw a green light appear there for a second For a second but now it's too late I already know what's going on around you Oh wow This particular attack is being recorded as an image but you can actually record video You can also record sound if you want. That's really disturbing. You can run things in name, so what I'm going to try to do is open the calculator app.

Well. Here we go. There's my calculator, it just showed up. I can basically run any type of command I want on your behalf. So what can people do to protect themselves? You should be aware of any time you perform an action and then the computer asks you to do something on your behalf. You downloaded something and it says, "Hey, enter your password." If you weren't expecting that to happen, maybe you should back up a bit and say, "Well, does that normally happen when I log into a Wi-Fi hotspot?" Or if you're logging into a network and weren't expecting to be redirected to an update page, you should back off a bit and say, "I'm not going to download this until I get home and can trust." my wifi.
