in actions and words, this is what happened just a few hours ago in this 20 minute police procession through the The officer fell as law enforcement officers from across the valley escorted Officer Bolter's body to a funeral home.

A lifelong Idahoan came to pay her respects and express her sadness. I'm angry, I'm so angry and so heartbroken, this has been my home. I was born and raised here and it's my community and it didn't make sense and it shouldn't have happened. Law enforcement from across the Treasure Valley could be seen in this procession from Boise to Meridian to reside in Canyon County, all here to pay their respects. an officer killed in the line of duty, a tragic day for our community due to a traffic stop that turned deadly last night. Jude, Carolyn, Officer Bolter passed away this morning and early today. During a news conference, Ada County Sheriff Matt Clifford described the moments leading up to last night's shooting around 8:55 p.m. An ACO officer conducted a traffic stop on a gray Chevy Suburban near Overland and Raymond in Boisee when he approached the driver's

where the suspect was standing. The shooter was a 65-year-old man who had a $3,000 misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. He has not yet been identified.

Sheriff Clifford says he fled the scene and Boisey police found his car around 9:30 last night. BPD's special operations unit responded when they located the suspect in a neighborhood on South Jackson Street in boisee. Boise Police Chief Ron Weer says they attempted to take the suspect into custody peacefully, but shortly after midnight he fired shots at the officers, a Boise police officer then returned fire that ultimately killed the suspect now during At today's press conference, police chiefs from across the valley gathered to mourn the first Ada County

I need to thank all the people behind me and all the people of Idaho, everyone. the chiefs and sheriffs that have reached out its not just our community here this shows what kind of state we live in this is an extremely difficult time for an agency to lose an officer we support them we stand by their side and behind them and our hearts grieve with Officer Bolter's family, friends and loved ones Bolter was 27 years old, had been working in law enforcement for 7 years and joined the Ada Sheriff's Office in January after previously working for Meridian PD and the Pleasant Hill Police Department in California have now had another officer injured in a car accident while responding to the shooting.

That deputy is in stable condition and Carolyn Sheriff Clifford says she knows there will be a big push from the public to support Deputy Bolter and his family. Very soon we will have a means for people to express their support.
