for the

. Toro SUV. We will do a detailed and complete

review

of the exterior, within all the headroom and features, and take a test drive, let's start now, let's take a look at the exterior of the Hyundai Santa Fe. It was redesigned last year for 2019 and continues being the same for this

2020

model. We have LED daytime running lights and decorative lighting standard on each version. but to get LED headlights and LED fog lights you have to get to the SEL trim for them to be optional, but they are standard here and the daytime running light is separate from the headlight, which I'm not a fan of. design, but they actually do a pretty good job, these LED lights have definitely worked pretty well for me, it has a pretty big grille with chrome accents, it has a sophisticated look in my opinion, especially combined with this quartz white paint, here's how feel. let me know what you think has a bit of metallic flake too.

Now the wheels will vary from 17 on the low version to 18 and then to 19 on our top version. We have 19-inch wheels with two 3555. tires as standard and just above our mirrors they are heated with turn signals on the SEL trim. In the end we have satin chrome or body color dark chrome door handles, depending on the finish, we also have the dark chrome on ours, of course the Santa Fe is a mid-size SUV, it is only 2 rows, It's 187.8 inches long, certainly less than the Hyundai Palisade, but longer than the Hyundai Tucson, so it's right in the middle there and then when we get to the back, we have a familiar layout like we do with the front coming to the back, we have LED taillights that are optional on the SEL and they really look great at night.

More Interesting Facts About,

I like the design of these taillights, there's also a gray bumper lip on the bottom of the rear bumper and just one exhaust outlet here now, when it comes to Hyundai and Kia, the way they do it, the tailgate Cleverly rising butt is probably one of my favorites, you just have to stand next to it for a few seconds and then it will spin. on or then it will lift up and you can turn it on or off to where it actually does this function or not, it's optional on the SEL and standard on the SI l turbo and then once you get back here you'll have something decent.

Space isn't class-leading by any means, but it's definitely a lot of usable space with 36 cubic feet behind the second row and just over 71 with those seats folded and there's a 40-60 fold now that we're back. here. See, above, you have a tab where you can close it electronically. You also have a handle. There's also some pretty nice usable space back here and we have several titles. We have four moorings in each corner. I have a hook right there for maybe some grocery bags or things like that, on the other side, even a 12 volt outlet, and when I fold them, they electrically fold, there it goes, there it goes, and I don't know why that one doesn't it worked, but you still have a nice flat cargo floor.

I wish it was a 20 or 40/20/40 split, but it's still nice to have this 40 60 and it's my favorite thing about this area. Back here are all the extra cubby spaces, so take a look at you've got cubby holes right under there, a ton of space underneath there, a copy right there, another cubby right under this one and your cat kit like well, and there's a spare tire mounted under the vehicle and even if the numbers don't suggest this is the largest cargo space in its class, it's still pretty wide because it's kind of a square area back here, you've got a decent headroom here, it's really not It's so bad.
I can lie down here. Maybe you could maybe camp here. Now the Santa Fe keychain feels great. In fact, it is like a layer of rubber on the outside. There's a real key right here. that you can take out, you can open the tailgate, the alarm, there's no remote start on the key fob, but you can do it with the app with the blue link, which is actually free for three years and then it's like ten dollars a month, like that that this button locks it and unlocks it and that's all you need to know. Well, let's take a quick look at the interior of the Hyundai Santa Fe.
Starting from the top, if you like to rest your elbow up, this one is a little softer. The material isn't too bad and you have this very interesting and pretty piece of molding running across it. I definitely wasn't expecting that here and you even get this cute door handle and memory setting, wow! I just pushed them away and moved my seat. The light gray material is also very nice and soft. You get a decent armrest here, although it gets pretty small back there, but I haven't had any problems with that decent handle. It's fine automatic, lowers the front windows and then the speaker.
The grid is really huge on this Infinity system here. I don't care how much it sticks out because it blocks my water bottle from being here. It works, but it kind of crushes her. Otherwise, it's not bad. Not a bad setup, maybe even. room for an umbrella right inside we have a button for the interior lighting our lane keeping system blind spot button traction control and to open the cargo area it's a pretty good and solid slam, it really is and the rest of This Hyundai interior is better than I expected, not my favorite in terms of design but overall it just works, it's functional, there are some nice materials here, it seems like they did a good job putting things together, there's more to what I expected.
Now let's move on. and we start it up, we hit the start button and then right off the bat, right here in front of us, we've got this heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, we've got some decent chunky grips up here, it feels good, there's a little space just below There are quite a few of these controls that they have here as well that we can control the radio and the information display as some of you may know the automatic rain sensing wipers are some of my favorites and we have them on this one and then Right in front to us, as you can see, we have a split gauge, so both the left and the right, this 7-inch information display in the middle is standard on the SEL trim and above, so you can see we have got a speedometer around that information setup right there and everything can be controlled on the steering wheel so you have a trip computer that you can scroll through and you don't care about the miles per gallon.
I've been idle a good amount so So far with this so I can't really report much on that but it's kind of nice and clear here, a good amount of information on the driver assistance features here as well and then you can customize them all here like Well, I'll show you the head-up display in just a second, but it's nice to see everything that's available to you here without it being complicated. Just above you can see the head-up display, you can even change the size. and the color of that, there's a lot of information that you can see, it's just showing miles per hour right now because we're sitting still, but I mean you've got blind spot information there as well, and you can turn it off if you want to give yourself a little bit more of a view. wide, it's small overall, so it doesn't really distract you or anything, but like I said, you can turn it off or on to move around the board.
We have an 8 inch screen in this limited version, otherwise, you will get a 7 inch screen, definitely tablet style, it has some physical buttons on both sides, it is very easy to use, this is probably one of the simplest systems and easy ones out there, it's nothing fancy but it just works well, it has navigation that you can pinch to zoom and the touch setup works well, there's really no problem with that, pretty standard information here, we have the 12 speaker infinity system which sounds pretty good well and that is optional on the SEL model, then when you go to settings there are a few different things that you can customize, like the way your screen is, you can set things up the way you want, you can get a good amount of vehicle settings on the information screen here, but there are a few other things you can do here too.
I haven't had any glare or reflection issues with the screen which is also really nice and a really cool feature is that we have a widescreen monitor so I go ahead and put it in reverse so you can hear those parking sensors. going forward or backward and those parking sensors will appear there too. I'll go ahead and turn them off, but you can see to the side of the vehicle and when I turn the wheel, you can even see where it says you are. is going to go so it's really nice you can also change the view here so you just come back you can do a corner again like a hitch line right there if you're going to tow that's cool and you can see around the vehicle and it's nice to have easy parking and then when I put it in Drive you can also see directly in front of you and then those same type of screens in the corners here is also another pretty awesome feature that we have.
It's the blind spot monitor on this limited version, so check it out, turn on the blinkers like I saw on the Telluride and it literally shows you what's in your blind spot thanks to a camera in the mirror, and be sure to check out that blue Audi. Also check, just below, that we have dual zone climate control standard on our trim, it's optional on the SEL, everything is simple and easy to use, you can just press buttons to do everything you need, nothing complicated, you've got your heating. and ventilation heated steering wheel configuration and heated seats and ventilated seats for your passengers three levels in which are just below which has a 12 volt power outlet wireless charging USB port auxiliary port and a second USB port right there, the wireless charging mat is here and you should have this turned on through the settings on your info screen so if it's not charging that could be the reason and it's just a good storage container if you don't charge wirelessly also, we have some nice oversized cup holders they accommodate smaller and larger drinks without being too tall my bottle fits in there no problem the shifter is nice with the leather cover you have a manual control down here you also have an electronic parking brake you can turn your The auto start-stop system is turned on and off here, by default it is always on the brake hold button, the panoramic view button is on and then the parking sensors are on or off and then the drive mode when we press that, when we press drive motor, it's going to change there, you have the comfort sports which will turn red and then Smart will change it depending on the way you're driving, the car will decide it automatically and I left it on Smart most of the time, another unexpected one.
The little cubicle is here. You have this little rubber mat so things don't slide around, but it's just extra storage space. And everyone knows that I love to save things. I have this center armrest that is quite nice. nothing big but it's a decent size you have a moveable tray you can pull it out it just doesn't slide out and then there are no lights or anything there no charging ports you can't get in either because you have an auto dimming rear view mirror and controls for garage that are optional on the SEL model. Our sunglasses holder is a decent size and actually has a soft lining, so sunglasses are expensive, don't worry, here we also have LED lighting which is super bright at night. they are optional on the SEL trim and we also have a panoramic sunroof and it's definitely panoramic, it's really huge.
I mean, the glass goes way back and the part that opens is very wide from my side to that side and goes back quite a bit. Also, it's definitely more than I expected as the panoramic sunroof is optional on the SEL and standard on the turbo model and another nice little touch is the other storage cubby right here on the dash, it's always nice to see another little space that your passengers can place. a few things, the glove box can't be locked, although one thing I complain about now is the fact that I feel like the visor is right in my way where I'm sitting now, this is my eye level and it seems like I don't know, the seat doesn't go down much, the roof line doesn't go back that much, the windshield line is fine, otherwise the visibility is good, the rear window is really big so you can see pretty well and the rear.
The window isn't too bad either, plus you have your blind spot, the camera around you and all that good stuff. This is the first time I have sat in the back seat and with this seat folded it is not a one hand operation to get the seat. up you have to shootof a lever and pulling it at the same time, it's a bit annoying. I only have one big complaint with this rear seat compared to the last generation. I'm going to save that for the end of this segment and Now that I'm sitting here, these seats are comfortable, they're soft.
I still have decent thigh support. I have decent space and there are hard backrests behind these front seats so your kids can't kick you and bother you. You have a mat pocket in that one and sitting upright even with the panoramic sunroof. I still have plenty of headroom. I've got a couple inches here, so six footers can probably be fine back here. The good thing about these seats is that they can recline back, this is actually quite comfortable and I have had a rear facing car seat in the middle seat and my wife has been sitting on the side and has had plenty of room to stand comfortable and I didn't have to adjust my seat, we have a folding center armrest right here with a couple of fixed cup holders, some soft padding, there's even LED lighting here with the grab handle and then right in front of us, We have air conditioning vents.
I've got a little storage cubby, there's also a couple of charging ports down here, we've got two 12-volt outlets and a three-prong 115-volt outlet, plus those USB ports are standard on all models, another cool feature that has been great for me The baby is optional on the SPL model and standard on our model, we have these sunshades on the rear windows on both sides which is great to help block out the light but if you have this on and you're going to turn around and look over your shoulder, I really can't see anything out of this window because of this visor, keep that in mind and then to add to the luxury, we have heated outside seats on this model with this limited standard equipment.
Now I'm in the middle and I can sit here. Well, it's a little more upright, but I can still sit without touching my head, which is great. My biggest complaint is that they removed the slide feature from these seats, so you can't slide them forward, which most people would probably do. But if you want to fit more stuff in the back and I can afford to have someone sit here and slide forward, it would be nice to be able to do that under the hood of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, which is what I dislike the most. of this vehicle by far and it's not just this one, but all the trim levels that you get, so there are two different engine options as standard: it will be a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated engine, which in a vehicle of This size isn't as good and that engine doesn't make much power, that 2.4-liter makes 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, but optional on the SEL and Limited you can get a 2-liter turbocharged engine, which That's what we have here, still a small four. cylinder engine, but you will get more power, you will get 235 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, but they are still not that good numbers, they will all be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and you can get optional all-wheel drive.
This one does not have all-wheel drive and that is one of the reasons why the price is a little lower, but you can still get it in any model, whether it is powered. The miles per gallon on this front-wheel drive 2-liter limited turbo is 20 miles per gallon. city 27 highway 23 combined and the best you can get with the 2.4 liter engine is 22 city 20 9 highway so it's not too bad with those numbers but I just wouldn't choose that engine at all and we'll eliminate it for a test drive and I'll tell you all about how it drives in a second, but you can get a tow package where you actually get a transmission cooler, which is nice, it's optional on any model, but you can only notice a hundred pounds as long as I have trailer brakes, so if you're towing a trailer with brakes, you're fine; otherwise it's like 1,500 pounds okay everyone we're in the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe and we're going to take a test drive here and I'm excited because I have a heater. steering wheel which is always nice I don't care what type of vehicle it is, I love my heated steering wheel and it's like it's 48 so it's not even cold but it's nice to have it now very fast from the start.
One interesting thing, I showed you that flashing light or blind spot monitor right there, it's very convenient for parking next to a curb and if you can see, my first impression with this Santa Fe is that honestly, it feels a little slow. I'm just NOT a fan of this engine or powertrain, but if you forget that it's a solid vehicle, it feels pretty solid too; The handling here is pretty light, it's a really easy vehicle to maneuver, maybe not the most precise but it's good enough, I mean for a two row SUV family vehicle, it drives well, feels good and is easy live with it, then that's probably all you can ask for in this vehicle.
Everyone saw how practical it is in terms of the storage space, the features you get, the overall space, I can't complain, the turbo can be a little powerful but there are times when it just feels slow and honestly, It was pretty good and totally sufficient, however, things will be different on that basis. engine, this is a pretty good sized vehicle and having 185 horsepower isn't that much, especially when you compare it to other vehicles. Hey, now there's another Santa Fe on this test drive. I just want to tell you how it drives, how it handles. from the acceleration noise, that's all fine, we only have front wheel drive, not all wheel drive on this one, and we were in smart mode right there, so it adapted a little to give me a little more acceleration.
It has more punch, but it accelerates you pretty quickly and you can probably see the front screen. I'm going to go ahead and get rid of that, if you prefer to have it on while I drive let me know. I'm not sure if it gets a little annoying right in the line of sight now just in a rolling stop just in your normal mode you're not in sport mode or just a rolling acceleration you're going to pass someone it takes a second but then once that turbo starts to push you, you get a pretty good pull at those lower revs, so for city driving things are fine, it definitely doesn't have a lot of power once you hit high speeds, like you're going over an interstate, but it's enough. it works and now the driving feel we're going to do a little bit of a tighter turn in a second, but it's not bad, it's not great and you can see the blind spot mirror monitor right there which is also nice.
I really like it. that feature is like a third part of security, so you always look, always look over your shoulder, please, always turn and look. I actually look instead of relying on your blind spots, so you have your blind spot in the mirror and then you have that. so it's like your third check, like it's your triple check that there's no one there now. Let's do a brake check right away. The brakes are a little soft, but their performance is quite good. I would do it. I'm curious to see if this would stop as well as some others in the class.
I'm not sure it does but I can't say for sure and I go ahead and put it in sport mode the indicator turns red and after that. After that upshift it started pulling pretty well and accelerated me pretty quickly but once those revs go up it just loses it it just loses its pull it's like it takes a second and then it shifts and then you're good and it surprises me The lack of body lean on this vehicle actually handles quite well. I shouldn't say handles, but it's composed, it's not like something where you turn a corner like you feel like you're going to tip over even if it's not a big turn, so it's not super precise or sharp, but it won't scare you. like you're going to tip over, even though there's no body lean, it's just a lot less than I expected, which is a great sport. mode keeping it over 2000 rpm, a little bit of pedal and it accelerates instantly which is good, you don't hear much noise from the powertrain here which is also good, it is responsive enough, it just seems like stop and go. traffic especially this is very slow at times which can be annoying and this Hyundai has the full suite of safety features for the driver assistance functions, it has adaptive cruise control, it has its lane keeping system that can be adjust for how aggressive it is and I did a full demo on that on the Kia Telluride which is basically the same type of setups and systems as this one, if you want to check it out I'll put a link in the description so you can see it. how that all works, but I'll let myself get over it and it just hit me right away and I have it on a moderate setting and it's doing this for me right now.
I'm going to finish this. and it just stopped me right away it's a really nice system it does a great job of keeping you in your lane but please do it yourself now we're going to take a road that's normally a little noisier it's where I do most of my testing it's because That's why I do all my tests on the road so I can get an equal surface and I can test in the same place every time my place is a straight line where I get the same speed with all the cars on the road.
Same spot, not this particular one here, but it has a stronger texture and can you hear the road noise? Honestly, it's not bad and we have laminated glass here which is great and helps. There's not much for wind noise and, to tell you the truth, here. I had the Lexus rx350 f-sport before last week and it is just as quiet. I think the perceived quiet on this is that maybe I hear a little more wind noise, but the road noise is literally about the same and Honestly, the decibel rating was a little lower on this than not, Alexis now that says a lot and I do more than one career.
I do several runs and on average my readings come in without any kind of big

bang

or noise. noise or very windy days throwing the numbers off so this is impressively quiet for the class and then when it comes to daily driving it's been comfortable my wife has been comfortable in the back seat honestly the visibility It's pretty good from here in the back. The second passenger window or windows are a really nice size so you can see out pretty well. The driver assistance features work well. It is easy to live with them. Parking is easy with the overhead camera.
There is not much to complain about. I just wish the engine was a v6 or two, a little more powerful or maybe a little more efficient for what it is. To conclude with the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, it is a feature-rich two-row SUV, as you heard some of my complaints. engine options the way it goes other than that this is a great option if you want a lot of features and a lot of value in our SUV for under $40,000 so that's it thank you so much for looking.
