TV turns ON but no picture or sound black screen FIX

Jun 04, 2021
This plasma TV is about ten years old and last night I suddenly lost

picture

and

sound

at the same time while watching a movie and now when I try to turn on the TV I can see that it is gaining power, there is a short flash. on the

screen

, but that's as far as it goes, the cable box is on and just to rule it out completely, I'll hit menu and input just for the TV and you should see some kind of options on the

screen

. which have nothing to do with the cable box and since I don't see anything on the screen, it's probably the main motherboard that probably lost connection with one of the components on the board, therefore I will try to warm up the motherboard . enough for the solder to melt and hopefully reestablish a better connection when it cools and to get to the motherboard I need to unscrew the backplate and for that reason I place the TV face down on a soft bench and let the stand hang During Now, until I remove it, the only tool I need for this job is a screwdriver and I basically just go in and remove each of the screws.

I see that these four screws are for the bracket and I go ahead along the side and by the way, this is a USB. Stick that provides internet for this TV, but for some reason it hasn't worked for the last few years and I'm hoping to fix it today, so I'm going to start with a bracket by removing these four screws and just pulling it out when the bracket is out. I will continue unscrewing all the screws I can see to loosen the back cover. Now I can lift and remove the backplate to see what's going on inside.

More Interesting Facts About,

tv turns on but no picture or sound black screen fix...

At first it seems very busy and complicated, but I don't care. There is a board on the right side, this is the main motherboard and it has all the old school HDMI and round USB connectors with different colors. It also has this

heat sink right in the middle that covers the main processor chip, so that while the board is still connected to the TV. I need to remove all the wire connectors from the board one by one, each harness is a little different so you have to figure out how to remove it without breaking it, that one was tight on the sides and pulling this one has nothing to tighten so I had to pull it out and it was a little difficult to do it the first time because you don't want to pull on those wires and accidentally disconnect one of them, always pull or push on the plastic harness, not the wires, this one has a plastic hook on the top and you can lift it up with your fingernail and then pull the wire harness like this, this one also has a hook on the top and you remove it exactly the same way. same as the last one but this one gives me problems so I will have to go back and do it with both hands later on this one I already loosened it and it has both grip on the sides and a hook on the top and now it's time to unscrew the plate from the TV .

It has one, two, three, four, five screws that I need to unscrew. Now as per the disclosure, I realized that I forgot to remove this flat cable harness and it comes off quite easily by lifting this

plastic. block it with your fingernail do not use a screwdriver because you can damage it and now I can finally remove the board from the TV when you take out the board try to handle it carefully only from the sides without touching any of the internal components because you can accidentally pass an electrostatic discharge from your fingers to the board and damage it.

It's like walking on the carpet with your socks on and then touching the metal door handle. Now I'll just put it on a piece of cardboard and cut it to the right size. and then place everything on a piece of aluminum foil in case you can bake it in a normal oven. Solder using the electronic components will usually melt at about 385 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about two hundred degrees Celsius, let it preheat and then put it inside the oven. for about 10 minutes, but I know it will really stink, so I'll take it outside in a portable oven.
This oven doesn't have an exact temperature setting, so I'm going to set it just below 400, which again is around two hundred and Celsius and also set the timer for about fifteen minutes. I'll let it preheat for the first five minutes and then use the other ten minutes to bake the board. Well, it's been about five minutes. Dobin is nice and hot, so I'm going to put him here and wait okay. I had to shorten it after about five and six minutes of baking because this started to melt. This is just a piece of tape with the phone and I probably should have removed it before I started baking, but I also noticed that some of the plastic pieces started to melt too, like here a little bit there, so at this point neither I'm not even sure if the solder had enough time to melt, so I'll just put it all together and hope for the best, but I'll let it cool for about thirty minutes before I put anything in to put it back together.
I have four different types of screws and the medium one rotates and there are a bunch of them, the long ones go into the bracket. There are four of them, the thick ones go in the middle and are for hanging the TV on the wall and the small ones go to different places like one and here next to the outlet and on the motherboard one here one there one there and on the other side or at least that's what I thought when I started putting it together I realized that the little screws have two different threads and are not interchangeable so you have to remember where you get them from.
Well, I put everything together, there is the cable box. turned on and here is the moment of truth, we pressed the home button, it flashes on the screen and we got a

picture

, so it seems that five to six minutes of baking and 385 degrees was enough for this motherboard, but you have to realize That every situation is different and there is absolutely no guarantee that this will work for you. This is a very old TV and I didn't really care for it that much and so I decided to try baking it and before I left I just wanted to see if they could fix it. my internet connection for this TV, I reconnected this USB stick to the network, accessed YouTube and the request cannot be processed correctly.
I guess baking the motherboard doesn't solve all the problems, but still I'm happy that I got my TV back and if you found this video helpful, please share it with your friends, subscribe and also hit the like button, thanks.
