Trash to treasure Video 10 ~ Wooden Ladder Idea ~ Wire Spool Project ~ DIY Ottoman

Feb 27, 2020
Hello everyone welcome to my channel, today I will be filming a

trash

video

to

treasure

, one of my favorites to film and if you are new here and have never seen a

video

like this, this is where I take three drug addict looking guys. items and turned them into

treasure

s before I show you the items that I have here, let me talk a little bit about the shirt that I'm wearing, so I'm really excited about this shirt. They gave me a free teespring design where their designers actually designed a t-shirt for me. I told them what I wanted and they went ahead and designed it to be honest first.

I was a little leery of this because I'm so used to making my own design that I thought, who would know? You know exactly what I want, but you definitely did the job with this shirt. I'm very impressed so this is my first Mirc shirt where my name is actually White Cottage Company and I told them I wanted my name. there and the words "home" is where my cat is. I love the word "home" so I like to see it on a t-shirt and then of course I wanted them to add a little overweight Kitty which they did a good job with and like you guys.

More Interesting Facts About,

trash to treasure video 10 wooden ladder idea wire spool project diy ottoman...

I know I'm a cat lover especially my little gray kitten named Pebbles she will jump on my lap every time I sit anywhere on this property she will somehow find my lap and I thought this picture looks like her . This shirt is available. In my teespring store I will link it below and there is also a showcase image of this shirt below or there should be below this video so be sure to check it out if you are interested. I don't want to continue. and here, but another thing I love about this shirt is that it's a different fabric than usual, just your basic t-shirt.

This is a tri-blend fabric and it is very nice and soft and I think it feels better and fits better. It better not be as stiff as some of those other shirts, so if you like nice, soft shirts like this one, that feel good and fit you a little better than those stiff ones, be sure to check out my teespring store and If you feel that your cat is home, make sure you buy one of these t-shirts, so getting back to the topic at hand here, first I have my three items around me. Now I have this old

ladder

, as I mentioned before, in my

trash

.

Treasure videos don't necessarily call these items junk because I realize they're not actually junk. You know, I even paid a little money for some of these items, but you get what I'm saying. I like the term, you know, trash to treasure where I carry. something that needs a little help and turning it into something beautiful. My plan for this

ladder

is to turn it into a plant stand. In fact, I have one on our back deck. I didn't do anything too fancy with that one. I just painted it and I have another one. The little plan I'm going to make with this one next we have this white tray and it actually comes with cute little legs and my plan for this is probably to paint it.
I think it even looks good as is. but I noticed there's a little bit of cracking around the edges here, so I'm going to paint the whole thing and probably add a piece of wallpaper or some contact paper on the tray part here. The last item here is a

spool

of

wire

. I've made a few cable reels before, but never one this size. It's just a little smaller and my plan is to turn it into an

ottoman

. I've never done this before, but I saw where people do that sometimes and I would need to do it.
Of course, this is too long for an

ottoman

, so I'll have to cut it somehow and then wrap it in foam or batting or something and then cover it with a pretty fabric, so we'll see how it looks. I guess I'll work my way up as I go, so join me as I work on these fun

project

s and enjoy them. I will be using my Wagner paint sprayer to paint the staircase and had made a video again. I'll link it below. Just in case, if you want to check it out, it's from Amazon. The instructions say you don't need to thin the paint, but I know the last time I used it I thinned it a little because I was able to paint faster.
If I did that and the paint I'm using today is the best brand of paint and primer in one and the color is high hiding white, it's right off the shelf, I didn't dye this color, just a nice pure white color. and the shine is Saturday, it's a little windy to spray paint here but I'll try it anyway, like I said I'm planning on turning this staircase into a steam plant and I've done this before. I've taken different wallpaper or contact paper designs and added them to each step just to give it a little character. In this case I found some different designs of green that I'm going to use and this is the wallpaper so I'll be I can use my mystic bottle to apply this and if I end up giving it a coat of Mod Podge just to protect it I could go in and get my cutting tools , you know, straight lines here, but I think I'll just do you with what I have here in the store and in case you're wondering, I recently bought this beautiful little table at a garage sale for ten dollars.
I guess I can't wait to reuse it, so what you need to do here to Disassemble the reel is put a vise on one end of the bolt and a gear wrench on the other end. What I want to do now is determine how tall I want this ottoman to be. I'll use these boards, here are the same ones that were in the ditch or in the center of the reel. I'll use them as you know to hold it together, so I'll have to cut them to whatever size I want my ottoman to be. I had some carpet padding left. from another

project

that I will use to wrap the ottoman and then I think I have a piece of foam that will work for the top A while ago I found this antique grain sack at an antique mall and loved the writing. on it and the color, so I thought how could I somehow incorporate it into my car.
I know it's not centered, as you can see the writing is not centered on the bag, but I thought I could take a little bit off the back and you know. Put it here and just add a piece so that my design is in the center here, so I think I'm going to try to do that. I'll probably use drop cloth for the sides of the ottoman as it matches the sack here. The next step is to cut my fabric. I love how a fabric has these nice wide sturdy seams and I think I'll use one of these that seems to fit along the edge where the actual foam ends here just to give it a nice little break instead of, you know, having my seam up to here, you know, pull it over the side and tuck it under.
I will have a strip of fabric. I know it will take a little longer, but I think it will look good. I'm going to sew a regular piece of strip of fabric here and then I'm going to add this piece here with the actual seam that I'm even going to turn, you know, like this, like wrong side out, just so you know. Take a closer look, I think that will add a little bit of character, so what I've made here is kind of a tube. What I want to do is turn it over and place it on the ottoman and then pin the seam together.
I know I still use this newspaper print wallpaper a lot for my projects, but I love it, I really can't get enough of it, it goes with anything and good news: it's actually available in my Etsy store, many of you have it. I already asked about it, so if you're interested in purchasing some for a small project you may be working on, head over to my store and check it out. There will be more measurements included in the listing. I'm going to use a method that calls for heat distress on this tray, in this case I'm going to use this regular Sharpie marker frequently.
I'll use a paint marker. I don't have one here in the store right now so I'm going to go ahead and use this is a permanent marker it will do the job what I'll do is just go over the edges making them look a little chipped and old with this marker if there's something I want to redo on This piece is made so that my foam is cut nice and even, as you can see there are some lumps showing but I can always remove the cover to change it if it bothers me too much but I think you know for now it will.
Do it again, this newspaper print wallpaper is available in my Etsy store and I will link it below in case you are interested, thank you all for watching this video. I really appreciate it and I hope everyone is having a great week and we'll see. you next wednesday goodbye
