I'm just here to talk about your boxes. When I bought this, I was very impressed with the box. Look at this. It had this excellent lift box that secures. inside I always like those look at this tray the moment I saw this guys I thought I had to save this box now it comes with two inside and they are sturdy think about it it held six bottles of wine so it has to be Capable of supporting weight, each of these is a double piece of corrugated cardboard, so I honestly think I could stand on this thing and it wouldn't move, so I've been holding it up.

to share with you. and when I saw this, please don't shade me for this, but I saw this Totally Tiffany organizer and I'm sure the products are phenomenal, but the price of the cardboard I just couldn't do it, so that's when I decided to give them I will show you how to make amazing storage with these boxes on an extreme budget, let's get started, the first thing I want to start off by saying is how tempting it is to keep every box, fight the urge if you want. You're currently in the middle of organizing a space where you're going to need some storage, so go ahead and put away some boxes, but if you're saving the box in case you need it one day, give yourself a deadline, don't leave it. that clutters your space now for these, I knew I wanted to do a storage video for you so I had them on hand.

The size of these is for a bottle of wine so you can keep an eye out for these, contact your local wine total or any of your wine distributors and see if they are receiving them or maybe you already know someone who receives He came to your home and you could ask him to save some things for you that would fit very well here and keep in mind, I just made my channel. storage, but the little spools of tape fit so well here that I'm almost tempted, but I'm not going to get rid of my gutters because they fit so well and what I'm going to show you is how to make them.

There would be drawers that slide out so it would be a separate drawer and I could only tell what color. This would also be great for brushes, utensil makeup brushes. You could use them for small scraps. There are so many things you can save. here, oh and by the way, because they are over 12 inches, your vinyl for your cricut and silhouette would fit rolled up here too, but you can find what you want, you can also save some shoe boxes, get them all the same size and you can duplicate what I'm going to create today with a simple shoe box and then you can add your own divider inside so let me show you how I'm going to do this so this is what I'm going to do.
I'm going to get a foam core, but you can use cardboard or whatever else you have lying around. I'm going to make the two side pieces. I'm going to have a back piece and then a top piece that goes on top and is the same size. that fits at the bottom there will be smaller pieces that are a little bigger than these boxes so you can slide them in and out. The reason I don't want to not have dividers is if I want to take out this drawer. so I can just slide it out and keep this top drawer where it is if I don't have that divider when I take it out this top drawer will fall out and I don't want to have to deal with that every time so you don't have to put dividers but I'm going to go with dividers.
I'm going to start measuring the pieces that will divide the drawers. I don't want the depth of the drawer to be any size. thicker than these because if you make it longer when you push the drawer in, you will see this protrusion from the front. Likewise, if you make it too short, the drawer will look like it doesn't fit because it's sticking out, so you want to make sure it's flush, now you want it a little bit wider, so I've got just a little bit on the side here. I'll probably cut it down to about a quarter inch and have a quarter inch on this side and that way I have room to get it in and out, no matter what happens, I'll get my handy dandy square that I love so much and bring it in here just a little bit . use my new finger cutter, which many of you asked about this Fiskars cutter when I made the love topiary cards.
I have this in my Amazon store. This has been one of my new favorite tools but you can use a steak knife, sharp knife and x-acto knife, whatever works for you, sometimes I use my rotary cutter and that works with the foam core too , the sharper the blade, the better it will cut the foam core. Now I have a piece that's a little bit wider, but it's exactly the same depth along this way, but as you can see, it's a little bit wider at the ends so it can slide in and out. The storage item I'm making will have four drawers, so I'll need three of Now that I have three pieces, I can start to intersperse these inserts so I can see exactly how tall my cabinet will be for me.
Each of my boxes measures three and a half inches with the foam core as the base. The divider is three and three quarters, so I'm probably going to use four inches total so I know, without a doubt, that I have enough room to slide them in and out. The worst thing would be to build this and prepare to shoot. I took out a box and I can't take it out so I'm going to measure that way so we have 4 8 12 so I'm going to use 16 inches I think that will be enough let's get started. a new sheet of foam core and I'm going to cut two panels that measure 13 inches by 16 inches again, these are the dimensions of my specific box, they will obviously be changed for whatever box you use, so I'm going to cut two of those. and then once they're ready, I'll set them aside before moving on to the next step.
I'm going to plug in my glue gun and heat it up so it's ready to go once I'm going to use it. Now I'm going to go ahead and start covering the dividers so I take a sheet of contact paper and I find the nice edge and I put it on the back and I flatten the edge and then I wrap it around and what this does is it gives it a look really clean. edge for us to see. I use the x-acto knife to get rid of any air bubbles, but look at that edge that's going to be the front where you see the boxes and it's going to look really good, so anything that has more on the sides. just go ahead and use the knife to trim it clean and repeat this process three times for all the dividers.
Now we're ready to start placing those dividers on the side panels, so I'm going to measure the inside. between the parts of each drawer, which are 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches, and I'm just going to make one line, so this is where I'm going to attach the dividers to the side panels and I'm going to repeat these marks on the other sheet I didn't make the lines this time I just made two little dots and you'll see why in a second I'm going to go get my glue gun, what you want to do is make sure that you face them consistently so that the pretty edge and the top should always be on the same place, so I'm going to run a bead of hot glue against the first side and I had two little dots at the four inch mark, so I'm just going to line them up and then the glue is forgiving, so I'm going to slide it a little bit so it's flush with the front and will only take about 30 seconds before it is fully cured and in place.
I'm adding that I hadn't done it before when I made these units. I'm going to add some shipping tape because these boxes are going to hold some weight so I want to go ahead and reinforce them to double my shipping. tape in half, press one side against the side panel and then allow the other half to go against the small divider shelf. I'm going to do this on the top and bottom of each shelf divider, in addition to doing this on the front and back. It's an optional step, but again I don't know what I'm going to put in my drawers and I want to make sure it will hold up once I have the backing tape in all four positions.
I'm going to move on. and repeat the step of running a bead of glue making sure it's in the correct position and this goes at the eight inch mark for me and again make sure it's flush with the front we're going to go ahead and add the shipping tape just to give it that reinforcement and now I can add that third shelf and this is at the 12 inch mark and I have two points so I just line it up and again make sure it's flush, see how each one will split? of those boxes and allow them to slide in and out now we're ready to put on the other side panel so this is where those lines will help because I'm going to run the bead of glue along the entire line so I can Go ahead and place supports on top.
I hope that made sense so I'm going to apply a dab of glue and do these one at a time and then I can make sure the shelf is completely lined. I applied one last drop of glue and then I can make sure the support piece is attached. Now I'm going to do the same steps with that tape to make sure they're all in position, but it's not necessary. Look at it this time, so here's the back and you can see the shelves are ugly underneath, but no one is going to see that, but when you turn it over you have these beautiful edges and the top of each of them will be really pretty Yes I take out a drawer and, speaking of the drawers, this is what you will start to see.
I don't have the bottom or top yet, but you can see how well it fits inside. They will just slide in. I am very excited. about how this comes together, it feels super sturdy and each one of these will just slide right out. Are you already thinking of some uses you would have for this? So the next step is to cut the bottom and top pieces, so I'm just going to rest my unit right on top of a new sheet of foam core and I want it to be flush on all the corners. I don't want it to fit inside the supports.
I want it to fit the entire unit so I'm going to go ahead and measure again and mine is a little bigger now so make sure it fits what you have which is why I didn't cut them before. I wanted to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. I'm going to go ahead and cut the entire length of this, it'll be easier for me and I'll keep measuring again so it doesn't twist at all. You don't want trapezes and I'm going to use the outside. edges so that you only have two raw edges, go ahead and remove that sticker now that you have the top and bottom pieces cut out and now it's time to get an idea of what it's going to look like, see how perfect those top and bottom pieces are. fits, so I'm going to join each seam one at a time and I'm really sorry about the lean angle here.
I just didn't have any more room so I'm going to do the first seam and make sure everything is lined up super flush, get a piece of the foam core if you need so that when you press it down if anything leaks out you can just wipe it off because you don't want any glue on the outside, it's going to interfere when you try to put the contact paper down so it's nice and flush and I'm going to go ahead and get a little bit of a piece here and just wipe off the excess that came out and now we can repeat that process on the other end, but look.
How clean the edge is now. The interesting thing with the foam core is that it already has a groove in it, so watch how the glue gun just slides along the seam. It's actually very nice, so I'll move on. longer and just make sure everything lines up, if there's any excess, I'll clean it up, have the tape ready because I want to make sure this doesn't affect you, but I'm going to put the back. piece first so the pretty edges are the front. I don't want to put the back on, I want to make sure it goes on the other side, so I'm going to go ahead and measure and make sure it fits along the back. side and once again I'm just going to line it up with a piece that I had, but I'm going to use the clean edges and then I'm going to lift up my square one last time, I'm going to duplicate it. check those measurements and then cut them out now when it came time to attach the back I did it on the bottom first so I could really secure those corners and then I turned it around and just moved the nozzle of my glue gun. forI filled in the rest of the seam and reached inside if necessary just to make sure it was very flush along all the seams, once I got all four corners done I went ahead and taped it with that shipping tape. just to make sure this guy was sturdy enough to handle anything I put in these drawers once everything was done, here's what it looks like.
I am very impressed with how they look as they slide. It easily looks great, it can be finished at this point but I want it to look a little more finished so I am going to attach it with my contact paper to match my office , here it is, I think so. super cute and kudos to the fancy paper lady because I'm not an expert on this contact paper so I used some swearwords and some shipping tape in those areas where it wouldn't cooperate, there was film on my boxes that wouldn't allow the contact paper so it sticks well, but let me tell you, it sticks like a champ to the foam core pages, so I've given you just a couple of options for the handles and these are just hot glued on, like this I'm not going to pull them, they will come off right away, but I have the little handle that I used in the apothecary hoax I made.
These are the farmhouse shooters that are already in my office. This is just a little glass knob and then I made a contact flap that is pretty discreet and that you can take out and use, but I'm not suggesting you run out of wine storage like this, but if you know someone who receives wine shipments , you guys get these boxes, they are amazing. I'm going to use mine for all my little electronic items when I'm filming, I have a bunch of little cables, memory cards and microphones. This will be the perfect solution for all that and it slides on very easily.
Again, the reason we made the partitions is so you can take one out and it doesn't interfere with the other storage pieces at all. Oh, I told you it was just glued on, so let me know which of the handles you like. I lean between any of them. the little apothecary or the farm, but here's one more thing I want to show you in case you might stumble upon these boxes of wine, so they went in to hold the neck of the bottle in place, but guess what allowed me to get a ? Find out if you have things in here that you're dividing because they're already the right size, they're the perfect little divider to subdivide things in here, oh my gosh, so if you drink wine, contact brilliant sellers, find someone who's dividing them. these boxes are the best I only drank two bottles of wine I'm not a big wine drinker I had planned on giving it away for the holidays and then we couldn't do anything for the holidays so I have a ton of wine that I will eventually drink but like I said before, definitely you can do it with shoe boxes.
The main thing is to find a consistent size. You could create your own dividers inside with the remaining foam core, but there's no reason you can't. to make an amazing and affordable storage unit, this one cost me five dollars. I used three sheets of foam core and two rolls of contact paper. Five dollars. Can I remind you how much the one I found online cost? As I mentioned at the beginning, try not to do it. do storage just for the sake of doing storage find a specific need you have and make the storage match this was do as I say not as I do but these boxes you guys were too cool not to save and create in storage I'm I'm excited to know that I now have a safe place to store my microphones because they are quite delicate, it's the perfect storage place and they are very sturdy so if you want to duplicate this and can't find the wine boxes definitely check out some food boxes. which you might be able to replicate, the main thing is to find something that is consistent in size and the big key, making sure you have that little divider behind it so everything stays in place and then you can slide the drawers back in.
I ended up deciding to use the apothecary handles, I thought it looked really cute and gives me the ability to label them directly. I bought them on Amazon. I think I bought a dozen of them for eight dollars. I will have them in my Amazon store, but that's it. The link is in the description below.
