Top 10 Best Spyderco Knives

Apr 12, 2024
What's wrong with everyone? Here is one style of knife and today I am going to do my video on the top 10 Spyderco

knives

and I actually only have 10 Spyderco so this is just me ranking my collection from my least favorite to my favorite but it's not like there are any bad

knives

on these lists, they are all really good, so I would consider them some of the top 10 Spyderco knives, at least in my collection, so before I start this video, I just want to give a little context for this, so I have 10

spyderco

s and that's what I get the most out of any other knife company I have just because I really like their knives and last year I got excited about

spyderco

and I kept buying more and more. of them and one thing that a lot of people may not like when I say this, but I mean I'm going to say it anyway.
top 10 best spyderco knives
Spydercos are easy to buy because when they're in a drag race it's like you can still buy them, use them. a little and sell it if you're not the biggest fan of it. I'm not charging people too much or anything, especially if they're used, and what it does is basically give you a little bit more insurance, but actually use them. Getting to know knives a little bit more and that's one of the reasons I bought a lot of them so first let's get into the first one on the list and this is the paramilitary 2. Actually, I mean when I said that.

More Interesting Facts About,

top 10 best spyderco knives...

The thing about selling knives, I haven't actually sold a spyderco I bought this year just because I usually buy it, I really like it, I carry it for a couple of weeks and then it stays so yeah it is what it is , but um. First, the paramilitaries too and a lot of people are probably really upset, freaking out, the fanboys are trying to find out where my address is, but, um, the pm2, the reason it's number 10 and not higher on the list is simply because it is not the most comfortable. thing in my hand, the reason it's not comfortable is because if you look at these g10 scales, they're pretty much flat slabs of g10, there's a chamfer here to knock down or break the corner, but it's just not the most comfortable thing in the world. world, this big belly right here I don't think is the

best

design, I don't know, at least in this rear choke hold because I mean, it goes up for your middle finger, which is your biggest. finger so that's not the most comfortable and sometimes you can get a pressure point in this area because of the compression lock and that little hump that digs into your hand and also this strangled grip here with the jump is not my favorite. because I feel like my thumb is a little tight, it's the same on par three it's like two, but it's just not my favorite knife.

Speaking of ergonomics at spyderco, they are a company that generally does a very good job with ergos and also. The blade, I mean, is good, it's functional, it's useful, it's nothing really special. I think it measures around 140k at the thickest point and then has a very aggressive distal taper to a thin tip, so I mean it's fine for everyday wear in general, the pm2. It's a solid knife, it's just not my favorite and that's why it's number 10 on the list for number nine and this is my pair of lightweight threes and, um, I modified this one, I did an acid etched stone wash on the leaf, um, I added. some purple hardware so I think it looks pretty good now that I actually scratched the blade so that's why I did the acid edge stone wash finish but the reason or things I like about this knife is that it's extremely light, I mean it's literally on. inside there's just that compression lock which is really the only piece of metal on the inside of these handles besides the screws and the blade, but yeah, it's a very light knife, very good for carrying in the summer, it's just a really nice knife to carry, but my complaints about it is that I had to modify it out of the box because this inside, um, I guess the inside of the frn here was a little sharp, so it wasn't a big deal, but basically I took it.

As an aside, I took a ceramic rod and knocked down the corner so it's not something that's like that or I never like to modify a knife out of the box because usually if I do it's something really important and something that should have been comes from the factory and it also has the same thing with the pm2, this huge hump right there for the spider hole that allows you to have a good space to take it out in a closed position. He's not my favorite just because he's very aggressive and this. choked grab your finger and your thumb they're like, um, I guess they're in the same line with each other and it's just not that comfortable to hold and I feel like my thumb would like to go over here in a saber cut, but it's like It's not very comfortable because there's a huge giant hump right there.
Overall, it is comfortable with this hammer grip. It's actually more comfortable with this saber grip than the pm2 and you should really try a regular g10 par three and maybe do a slim mod on it, I bet. I really wish that for number eight on the list we had the dragonfly and the dragonfly. This is a knife that I probably bought a couple of months ago and it hasn't left my pocket. Seriously though, I think it's been a month or not two and a half months and a half month and I just throw this thing in the fifth pocket of my jeans every day and I really like wearing the same thing for a long period of time as a knife reviewer.
I feel like I still want to post content for you guys, so I like to carry it like a knife, maybe a week at a time, but sometimes it's like I carry a knife for two weeks, give it my review and then put it aside. for about a month and I forget about it, but dragonfly man, I've carried this around so much it's very useful. I suggest you get a dragonfly if you are looking for a secondary pocket knife. It's a little expensive but honestly after I bought it I used it and didn't really care, I didn't think twice about it, maybe I spent too much money on this knife, it's so good, the blade is a very good blade shape , they are also coming out with a single clip version of this dragonfly k390.
If you are curious about the k390, I don't really have a good conclusion with this knife just because I mean it is very small. I'm cutting tape and cardboard which doesn't really wear the edge that fast but it's very useful for utility cuts like that, that's very cool you can get a full grip or I can grip this thing with four fingers but I never make cuts like this It's also nice in this pinch grip, if someone asks to borrow my knife I give them the dragonfly and that shows that I don't care much about this knife or really what it looks like if it's scratched or not and I work in a grocery store so that if I'm ever in a hallway cutting something and there's someone around me, some sheep, I would just take out this knife and use it alone because I'm not going to take out like a maniac or maybe a native or military chief who would probably scare a couple of people, but overall I really like the dragonfly, it's very functional and I would say the reason it's not higher on the list is just because it's so small. and not as capable as some of the other knives that come in at number seven on the list, it is a great knife and this is one area where it really became difficult to decide which knife goes where and I feel like all of these could really change in a couple. of months, but for number seven we have the spyderco sage five lightweight and overall I would suggest that if you're a new person looking to get into spydercos you might want to check out some reviews on this knife because I'm a big fan. the taichung taiwan factory and the finish on the fins are perfect i mean i have never taken this knife apart and it is dead on with one of the

best

compression locking actions i have ever felt and it was like that out of the box like just it flies over, I mean I'm not the one that really doesn't care much about the action but I have to give credit where it's due because it's a very very nice action, it's thinner behind the edge than most of your spydercos . around 15k, usually Golden Colorado factory stuff like the PM2, the par three, the maniacs, they're usually around that 20,000 mark, so it's a little bit better cutter.
I feel like this is a good knife, my main complaints I guess. Do I have a hot spot of this compression lock here? This is something that happens with many compression locks. However, it depends on the model and whether I'm on the rear grip of the choke, on the top, or on this part. That wire clip gives me a little interest, but overall the Sage line of knives is very underrated, very good and I highly recommend you check them out and they are very good EDC pocket knives. Plus, I feel like Spyderco. It would be a disservice to this knife if they didn't come out with speed runs and a better steel with some different colored handles or maybe even a new handle material that would be cool.
I guess they already have the salvia 5 and carbon fiber. laminated g10, but I still have a little idea, but I know spyderco. I mean, obviously I don't really know them, but I guess they're working on something because this knife has a lot of potential. I would highly suggest checking it out. Find out if you're new and maybe looking for one of your first spiders for number six on the list. What a big difference between the dragonfly, the wise 5 and now the military one. This knife is huge, but I really like it. I like it. more than the paramilitary 2 and the pair 3.
I think it is the best knife in that line of knives maybe if I had the pair 3 and g10 I would like it more than this one, but, for the military, the ergonomics are very good. On this thing, it has the chamfer that the pm2 doesn't have this, it's actually a factory second, so I bought this for 70 bucks, which is crazy, and really the only downside is that the retainer was really strong. Out of the box and the action is not very good, but I mean, I don't mind that at all, especially if this, because I got this knife to be a hard to use knife, I haven't used it much, although only because I really don't I've had a lot of opportunities to do it, but yeah, the ergonomics are very surprising because it's like you have this huge pocket clip.
A lot of people get scared when they see that it's tilted down, but I put my whole hand on that thing and, honestly, I don't. I'm not sorry at all, it's just a very, very comfortable knife and I'm a big fan. There's that smart second factory one in there if you're curious, and also, this liner lock is one of the best liner locks I've ever owned. I've ever seen it except probably, honestly, I would say it's probably one of the best liner blocks I've ever felt. I feel like if I had a Socom Elite that would be really cool too, but I mean, it has a radio locking tang which I don't really have time or really want to spend time delving into the science behind it, but yeah, it's a really nice facing block and a lot of people make me cringe when people say this but You're like a man I would love to be military if it was a knife with a compression lock and I mean it would be a good knife but with the point facing down it doesn't bother me at all just because this knife is lightweight and you when you take it out of your pocket, your hands right there, ready to open it and you won't have to fumble for the knife if you took it out like that and also, um, the liner closure It's so well made, I'm really a big fan and also one thing I want to address is how good Spyderco is at making their knives lightweight.
I mean, imagine. I think this knife measures nine inches overall. I know the blade is about four inches in terms of overall length. I forget, but the total length of the blade is about four inches. Imagine if a company like zt was basically a company that makes titanium frame locks. Imagine if they came out with a knife this size. I mean, it's probably getting bigger. about six ounces in weight, which is heavy for a lot of people, but this thing weighs like four ounces, so it's not the size of a knife and there are a lot of people in the comments section of the videos.
I've done it with the military, who are basically like yeah, I've carried mine for 15 years. I love the knife, so it's definitely a knife that stood the test of time. It's a great knife. I highly recommend it if you like big knives. and you're looking for a real workhorse, so yeah, sorry it took me a little longer, that's my main problem with these top 10 videos. Typically when I review a knife I talk for about 20 minutes. Sure and it's hard to talk about just one knife for a couple of minutes, but number five on the list goes to my new addition to the collection, the native boss, this is the speed run with the s90v blade and handle scales real carbon fiber. and like I was saying with the military, this thing is super light, let me get out my flashlight just to show you that yeah, this is just carbon fiber on the inside here.
I really don't think that helped my flashlight skills much. they aren't the best, especially when I try to light it while looking through the camera, but yes, this is a knifevery very light and honestly it's very slim or I mean it's much tighter in the pocket than many others. other spydercos just because a lot of times spydercos have this big thumb hole that sticks out like that so the pair of three takes up more pocket space than the native boss or like width wise so if you wear jeans or maybe um I guess just work pants.
I normally only wear jeans, this knife fits perfectly and I have no problems with it and it really carries like a much smaller knife. It carries like a knife that has a three and a half inch blade when this one has a four inch blade. I'm very impressed. the fit and finish of this knife, look at this backlog, there are no gaps in the liners here, it is very well made by spyderco. I was impressed with that and it's also centered and especially for such a long blade, I mean, the sharpening is a little bit off, but it's a little bit difficult to get such a long blade, centered on the knife, which I think is good, the action buildup on this thing is nice, the s90v has been great, the shape of this blade is super long, super pointed, I would like the tip to maybe be a little thicker just to give me a greater sense of security when using this knife, but I want to say I haven't broken it in yet and I've been using it for about two weeks so I'm really enjoying it. this knife and I like it keep in mind this is my most expensive spyderco it's around 250 dollars which I think is pretty expensive but I mean it has high quality materials which I understand but I would like to see that slightly lower price, esp. because I don't feel that the native chief is a great knife, but people will probably move away from such a high price by reaching number four.
We have the five natives, a light and fast story behind this knife. I actually had this one. I got the Saint Nick exclusive, this is the one with the 4V coded uh blade and the red handle scales. I actually bought it from the Saint Nix delivery website. I carried it a lot. I really liked using it. I could already tell it or at that time it was my favorite spyderco and then, um, just or not, wait, what am I saying? I lost it, yeah I lost it at work, I was really really bummed about it and actually for Christmas my family got a new one from eBay or high school so yeah I'm really happy to have it now.
I don't use this one that often just because it's sentimental to me and there's something in the back of my mind. That's like I bet you'll lose it if you wear it again. I don't want to do that so I carried my original around a lot and used it a lot and I really like the native, it's such a good edc package. If I mean it's just, I highly suggest that if you're new to the world of Spyderco, maybe you're watching this video to see which ones you should get these two knives here. Native Five Lightweight Sage Five Lightweight.
I review them whoever you think. it's more your style, I would choose that, but I mean the ergonomics are so good that it's very simple, I mean it doesn't have a really flat back, but there's no big hump with the spider hole for you to put your thumb here here here doesn't really matter, it feels great in my hand and it's such a good edc pack. Oh, another thing that spyderco does a really good job with is making small knives feel like big knives because despite this blade length people can look at the length of the blade and say ah, that's not much.
I like big knives and I still carry knives like the native, sage, pear three and dragonfly because I can get a very comfortable full size grip with this one. I could still fit an extra pinky on the end of that, maybe if I had six fingers, but yeah, it's very comfortable in my hand. I'm a big fan of the native and the leaf length isn't something that's really that big. Deal for me, I've never cut something and said, oh man, if only I had .25 or a quarter inch more blade length I could have made that cut, so I really like the ergonomics of the native It is simply a great knife and I highly recommend it come in at number three.
We have the manix2 and this one in xhp and g10. I bought it used, so you can't get this version anymore. I really don't know how rare it is. is that I use this knife, so it's probably decreased in value, but one thing that I think is cool about the manix is this locking mechanism here, although yes, it's real, this and the compression lock are two or more, like some of my favorite locking mechanisms, but I like this one a little bit more because a lot of times, as you've heard me say, the compression lock gives me a hot spot, but this registration mechanism and the compression lock are great because they are are really strong and they are also very easy to operate, this is practically an axle lock but it uses a coil spring inside instead of omega springs which basically reduces the, I mean a coil spring is much harder to break Those flimsy omega springs, so I really like that about maniacs, it's a very comfortable knife in my hand, the ergonomic lines are sharp and specific, so that's a problem I have with suggesting this knife just because you know someone I could get it. and say wow, that's uncomfortable, but for me it fits my hand perfectly.
I really like this knife, it's very good to use, it's a good beater if you want one and yes I would also like the shape of the blade on this one. Spyderco, they have really simple leaf shapes. which are good for cutting tasks but also the tip is usually low enough for your simple edc utility test so I really like the manics one of my favorite knives and it's just a very good line very good line of knives and also completely ambidextrous for you lefties, Spyderco, are on virtually all of their knives, their clips are reversible, all the knives on this list are except the military ones, but yes, if it's a back lock or one of the ball locks, it is ambidextrous. knife, we're pretty, I'm pretty sure it is.
Number two on the list is the lightweight manix2, so yes, I like the lightweight a little more than the g10 and here's why the lightweight weighs less than three ounces, which I believe. It's really cool, you'll be able to wear this in the summer. I don't know if it will be that good to wear and maybe you like sports shorts because it is very wide in the pocket so maybe you will like it. flip like that and be a bit annoying but I'm a maniac too it's just that it's a very good line of knives and I like the frn version just because or actually this is frcp I'm a little more beefed up frn but it's still I have all the good things about the G10 maniacs, but it's a little lighter.
This one is on Spy 27, which I really enjoyed as a bargain. One strange thing is that it scratches easily. Let me see if. Can I show this on camera, I really don't know, yeah it doesn't show up or at least it didn't show up for me. I looked at it, but yeah, I really enjoyed this knife, it's really good and I guess the The main difference between this and the normal native or not, the normal manix, is that it doesn't feel as good, just because you know the opening noises and close, it sounds a bit cheap and a bit tacky compared to that, but I would suggest.
If you're someone who says yes, I really like rebuilt knives and you're okay with carrying carrion, I would suggest the normal maniacs, but on this one, if you like lighter knives, it's also very, very good, so to be the number one on the list. If you know my channel, get to know me, watch my YouTube videos from the last few months, you know what this knife is going to be, the Gale Bradley 2. This is a great knife, I really like it and let me show you this. real quick, the thickness behind the edge on this one is much better than many of the other knives on the list that we're looking at, you see that ten thousand behind the edge is not a hundred thousand, but ten thousand behind the edge, um and it's hollow ground , this thing is such a good cutter, a perfect m4 steel to continue this.
I haven't really seen any rust problems. I've maintained it a little bit, but honestly, I haven't maintained it as much as I probably should have, but I don't think rust is a big issue for me, but this is such a good cutting knife, it performs so well, I want That is to say, the ergonomics are very comfortable combined with how thin the blade is. a good cutter if you are looking for a hard duty knife and you don't really like it, for me this is a knife that I would consider a hard duty knife because usually my hard duty knives are hard duty chopper knives that just cut a lot and I'm not really someone who values or scrapes or does non-knife things with their knife, but Gail Bradley would also highly recommend it just because he's such a good user, such a good cutter, Gail.
Bradley, when designing this, tried to make it the most functional and most useful knife he could and that's why it's not the most fun to play with, there's not the most blocked access to the bar, but I've gotten used to it. I don't really care and it works fine for me. I think my thumb has gotten used to the turns of the thumb studs as well. I guess I have a pretty torn thumb, but this overall is a Great knife, I really enjoyed it. I also like Gail Bradley. I highly recommend this knife if you can find it in high school, they are not in stock at the moment and the lead time is quite long to get it. the gail bradley two but usually if i see one for sale on the secondary market i'll try to repost it on my instagram story so i guess shameless follow me if you want to try and maybe see some of those but yeah the gail bradley 2.
I can't say enough about this knife, in fact I compared it to the sabin, not this sebenza, but this is just a small one that is in my pocket today, I can compare the gill bradley to the almonds and the sibenza 21 and it was really really held up pretty well um obviously they're different levels of knives with the quality and the attention to detail that these two companies put into them, but I mean Gail Bradley as well, she's a good cutter, she's got better steel and she's very comfortable in the hand and also a very well made liner lock, although people don't like the spyderco lock bar access, they do a great job with padlocks besides this and besides the compression lock, but a lot People want compression locking because it's a lot of fun to play with, so I really like Spyderco as a company, but one thing about me, one thing you've probably noticed, is that I don't feel like doing it.
I'm your average Spyderco fan, I mean I had the pm2 number 10 on the list, which will make a lot of people angry, but I like the uniqueness of Spyderco's different and unique knives. I like their other locking mechanisms. I am not that. I don't like compression locking, I just think it's very underrated. They're like liner locks, their back locks, their frame locks, I think they're all very, very good and the lock on the manix, so yeah, I think I should stop rambling now. If you're wondering what's next, what's next in my Spyderco addiction, uh, I'd have to choose.
I would also like a salvia like the titanium frame lock, but I don't know how much I would use it because I already have the salvia. five, I also want to stretch my spine back in k390. I feel like it's going to be a great knife and yeah, that's all I have in mind right now, but thank you all for watching this video. Don't forget to like this video and subscribe if you're new and I'll see you in the next one.
