on November 30, 2015 , Chino Hills. ' played the first game of his season and you could say it was a pretty solid debut beating San Bernardino High School by 89 points. See, the Ball brothers weren't making national headlines just because they were pretty good or because they were three brothers committed to UCLA or because their father was absolutely egged on that they were getting national attention because they were really good, the hype they were getting was completely justified in the 2015-2016 season, their starting five consisted of lonzo lee angelo lamella and yes, KO kong whoo and eli scott and this might as well have been the team because no one else sniffed playing time for virtually the entire season on paper .

Without him, we would

never

have heard of the Ball Brothers. Then there's Lamella, which should. As an eighth grader, but reclassified to play with his brothers, we all saw the potential there, but as a five eight and 14 year old, I don't think anyone could have predicted that just four years later he would be scheduled to place third in the general ranking. NBA Draft, but quietly holding the paint cleaning everything that came his way, was this unassuming 15 year old, unless you follow Chino Hills closely you've probably never heard of this 6 foot freshman 8 inches, Anya Kiyokawa, who finished her high school.

give you a bucket , averages 28. he scores the game on the best team in the country in 2016 and was the eighth leading scorer in the country with 34 points per game in his senior season and last but not least was Eli Scott, a guy who I always thought of as Draymond Green. from Chino Hills Now I know that sounds bad, but I'm not talking about Draymond Green's 2020 triple single.
I'm talking about the spark plug glue guy, the heart of the team, the All-Star Draymond Green, the two most underrated players on the team and they were both still in the top 50 in the country at their positions and with these five players and only these Five players, Chino Hills had one of the most historic runs in high school basketball history, in fact, of all the teams I've watched in the hours and hours of High School Movie I've analyzed. I have never seen a more cohesive and dominant team. 2016 Chino Hills was the best high school basketball team I have ever seen.
It sounds crazy, I know, but you don't have to take my word for it. just take a look at the revenue throughout their national championship. Chino Hills went 35 and 0 being the only public school in the last decade to win a national title in those 35 wins. Chino Hills won by an average margin of 30 points, but these guys were not only screaming at some garbage teams on their way to winning those 35 games, they went through five of the top 30 teams in the country and 11 of the top 100 teams in the foothills of the country. Christian was ranked the 29th best team in the United States and Shino Hills mopped the floor with them three times that season, they also beat sixth ranked Bishop Montgomery twice, almost half of their games were against top 100 ranked teams. and they never lost among the numerous ELLs they turned in that year. they went to Mon vert Academy, the 7th ranked team in the country with two future NBA players in RJ Parrots and Anthony Simmonds, this is a future NBA player, this is a 14 year old brother, they beat Redondo Union , the thirteenth best team in the country they beat.
Sierra Canyon at 20th with future NBA player Marvin Bagley beat Foothills at 9th Christian with future NBA player TJ lief beat the top Nevada team Bishop Gorman with Zach Collins beat the top Carolina team North with Bambaataa Bayou and they beat the best team in New York at the time Jefferson High School do you want me to do it? you want me to keep going yeah I think you all get the point with two freshmen and only one senior Plain Chino Hills took the brakes off each team they faced off they were literally unstoppable three brothers two close friends and one public school with limited resources, somehow rose through the ranks and surpassed every other team in the country.
This is a feat we

will

probably never see again, but before capping off their season as national champions Chino Hills had to face arguably the most prolific, tested and deadliest teams in high school basketball today. In the previous season, the modern-day Monarchs finished as the 14th best team in the country and two seasons earlier had won the national championship. championship led by Spencer Friedman, a player who personally took my ankles, today's Chino Hills showdown was destined to be one of the biggest games of this season, currently they were stacked, they were defeating the teams by 40 points every other game with eight d1 recruits this was going to be a battle a private school with a prestigious sports history against a public school with a loud bald guy behind their bench the line to get into the gym wrapped around the block everyone anxiously waiting for the showdown of the year man This is going to be a clue, huh, well, are you sure about that?
And what would later be recognized as the best game the Ball brothers ever played. Chino Hills completely kicked Mater Dei out of the gym at the end of the first quarter. Chino Hills. ' was up by 27 and in the fourth quarter they were ahead by 51 points, look at this scoreboard, oh damn, almost a foot shorter than anyone from Mater Dei who dropped a dime on my man. I mean, Eli Scott and Eli brutally pack one while Mater Dei. stands by praying for the mercy rule to come into effect and put them out of their misery, which it practically did as the referees had to implement a running clock to prevent the game from starting even more out of control than expected. who was already the coach of modern times.
The winningest high school basketball coach in California history said he had never seen a clock ticking in his thirty-four-year career, well that's because he had never played against the Ball Brothers, but wait, that's not even the best part. The guys started celebrating in the In the middle of the game I acted very stupid right there on the court I didn't even have the decency to call a timeout I just said: we have 50, let him have a bucket. I feel sick to my stomach and to make matters worse, Chino Hills was throbbing. Modern times are so bad that while the game was going on they were trying to think of plays to keep the crowd excited.
I can't imagine a more disrespectful way to win a basketball game. This is just rude, but that's how most Chino Hills games are. returned in 2016, lots of explosions, lots of egos from him, and lots of standout moments. I don't think we've ever seen a high school team get so much hype and attention, and rightly so, what the Ball brothers did was unheard of. It was exciting, I know because Levar Ball has aggressively reminded us of it for the last four years, but how can you blame him? they got the 92-point game, the UCLA incident, the Lonzo saga, their own reality TV show which, by the way, is still airing in some form, their historic 2015-2016 season got lost in the shuffle, so here there is his reminder in 2016, a previously unknown group of children.
It grabbed the world's attention, knocked off the best teams in the country, and for four short months had us all tuning in to watch the most exciting spectacle in basketball. I hope you all enjoyed Levar Balls the Goat and until next time.
