Thieves Can NEVER Steal Your Hellcat If You Do This! *MUST Watch For All SRT Owners*

Mar 07, 2024
Foreign guys, welcome back to the channel, so yesterday I had another request. Someone texted me and asked if I could make another video on how to install one of these switches. Now I know I made a video about

this

about a year ago, but the time I was in the store there was no lighting, it was very hard to see what I was doing, so today I'll explain everything you need, how to get there. I'll show you the circuit, which wire to splice and how. to prevent

your

Hellcat,

your

SRT, your demon, whatever you have from being stolen, now

this

is really very important, it's really essential that you do this because as you know, Dodge's security system is not much, so that if someone breaks into your car, they can literally program their own key fob and drive off with your car while you still have your own key, so before we start with the tools you need and all that, I want to show you the actual circuit and what we're going for. to work.

So this right here is the star button, now this is the same if you have a Jeep, you have a Dodge, you have a Chrysler, it's all the same setup, so you have a power cable that goes to the rfh center, which It is a radio frequency concentrator that is located just under the rear glass, so on the charger. The Challengers and the Chryslers. I think they are all in the same place. I had one here. I could have shown you what it looked like, but the radio. The damn sub is what literally controls everything: your key, your response when you open the keyless entry handle, um, how the car starts, all of that is controlled through the rfh, so the radio frequency hub is connected to the star button, so what are we doing?

Are we cutting the power cord that goes to the home button by putting one of these switches so that when it's on it has the circuit connected and then when you turn it off it turns off the circuit so the home button doesn't work? It doesn't work, so let's say if someone wants to break into your car, like you see on the news, they break your window and try to program their own King Drive, what happens is this is a key to my elephant right now. the kill switch is on so right now the car is not going to start but as you can see i can store the remote car start so its show function still works.

I know a lot of people, that was their main concern about whether the remote start works. whether it works or not, but your features like keyless entry still work, none of that changes, so when you come in here, as you can see, I have the kill switch on, so the button won't work. Now I'm going to cut the video. I'm going to turn on the switch and then I'll show you how it works after that, so I turned on the switch now, as you can see, it's lighting up because it has power running through it now if I want to start it.

As normal you don't have any lights on the dash, it doesn't make the check engine light come on, it doesn't create any problem, it's just a very convenient way, no, I turned that light on because my signal lights are not working or the computer it does not work. I don't think it works but now I'm going to show you how to get to it so what you'll need is the switches obviously these I bought on Amazon at the time I bought two packs of 12 in each package. so 24 of them, I think for about 30 bucks now, as you can see, I only have three left because I put them in every car I buy.
This particular car has two just because I'm very cautious in case someone finds the one they can't find the second one, but you could literally put in as many as you want. Kill switches now work in different ways. You can install a shut-off switch on your fuel pump. You can install a kill switch. Your starter motor. You can do all that well. but I see that the easiest way to do it is to install it on that button. First of all, it's easier to get to, and if you ever want to remove it, you'll have to attach the hoist, go to the start, and deal with the fuel pump. or something like that, so this is the easiest way to do it now, there is a fuse that is in the rear fuse box, it is number 33, it is 15 amps and if you don't want to, you can go through a wiring if no If you want to cut your OEM harness you can do that but the problem is when you do that when you pull out the fuse you are turning off the RF hub because that is what powers it if there is a fuse that goes from there to the control box rear fuses, so if you were to take out the fuse that's inside the trunk, your keyless entry will stop working, so let's say the next morning you're trying to get out and start your car, you can't unlock the door, you have to. take out your remote control which is right here, you will apply your five, you have to take out the blade and this is how you will have access to your car and then you have to open the trunk manually, you have to put the fuse back.
There and then you're going to start your car the reason I know that is because I tried it and it was a pain so I'm not going to do that again so now let me show you how to get to the real um the real harness and how are you going to start doing this now. I already talked about needing some switches. I'll put the link in the description so you know where you can buy them again. I bought them on Amazon, you will need some extension cables. Now I bought like seven rolls of these because I do a lot of electrical and I made it, 15 gauge, 14.
I made 14 gauge, so as you can see, I bought a lot of rolls, but if you have a group of friends, this is it. available now, if you have a group of friends that have some of these cars and you guys want to collaborate on this, you can literally go on a roll, some um some switches and you'll probably spend like five bucks a piece, it's that cheap. um, so you need a wire splicer to cut the harness, you need a Phillips screwdriver to remove the bottom knee pad. Protect whatever, you need a cutter to cut the wire, you need a trimming tool to get out the side. cover and some electrical tape now, if you're really OCD and want to make sure it's 100, you can get some solder and you can solder the switch on there, but I'm not too crazy about it since no, no, nothing.
It's going to get wet over there so I don't have to worry about it rusting, so I'm going to set this camera up here. I already have my Sony here and then I'll show you how to access it and what cable to connect. Cutting now a lot of people were doing this in my old video and they are cutting into the ground now, when you cut into the ground, you're not, you're still not turning it off because I guess there's another wire that turns it on. So you want to cut the power cable, this red cable and I'll show you which one is foreign, so I guess the camera was facing too much up, so you guys will see what I was doing, but there are three connectors here, one. there for the switch, one here for the interior dimming and one for the trunk release, so unplug these, one of them has a lock on it, so this one here just pull the red tab back and push it out ,uh.
This one you don't have to take off, just leave it as is, just put it on that way, you're not going to put a lot of things back together. Now what you're going to do is stick your hand in here and then Feel it, it's right over here, lower this here, not that one, this here is the connector, so I hope you can see this in camera mode, but you have a red wire, which is the first, you have a white and a green, you have a purple. and then you have a black that's ground up and you want to cut it into the red that's right here now, once you do that, obviously I'm not going to do mine on camera because you'll see where I put the switch, but this is where the extensions, so obviously you need some wiring to run through it so you can place it wherever you want.
So you're going to cut this. You can remove some of this tape so you can see the red wire. It is more exposed. You'll cut it in half, make sure when you cut it it doesn't touch the ground, because if it does you'll blow the fuse I was talking about, so once that happens you'll cut it once. you have everything wired once you have the switch set up the way you want you're going to reinstall everything and then it's a little hard to get it in because it's a tight spot but you can feel it so the tab this tab It's going to be in front of the car and it's going to clip in like this like this that I'm going to finish mine and then we'll put it back together and see how it's okay guys so I've already finished all the wiring.
I installed my switch, I have everything plugged in, I taped it up and now I'm going to show you that my switch is actually working, so when I put the switch back in the circus it should come back on and this red button should work. again and again if everything works I'll put it back together and that'll be a wrap for today's video so I turned my switch back on now as you can see my switch works just like it's supposed to now. I may even jump start it before I put everything back together just to make sure the car starts and as you can see there are no lights on the dash, we're all good so I'm going to cut it back in, reinstall everything and then that.
That's all for today, foreign guys, so everything is back in order. It's literally like a minute drive. Now I'll show you that this is all set and everything is working normally. My door will open. I'm going to close it just like that now, before I finish this video, I was going to make another whole video about this, but I might as well put it here so that if you ever see in a video how the cars start rolling and someone else pushes another car when They're sealing it, that's because here, if you take this off and open this door, you know, let me take a screwdriver and I'll literally show you how it works.
This is how cars are stolen. I'm going to grab my pliers. or my pry tool so you take it off and just a piece of plastic and then this here comes off like this this is where it happens so this tab here with the red thread if I pull this right now my car it's literally I'm going to roll now, the reason they have this is because your shifter at this speed, this shifter here is not connected to the transmission with the cable, it's electric, so the reason why they did this is let's say if you ever have to get towed if your car breaks down or something happens you have to put it in neutral so when you open this I'll actually do that so check this out so right now I can push my car, look at that, that's what happens when your car is stolen.
This puts your car in neutral and they push it now if you want to put it back to normal you just push it forward and now it goes back to normal. Now if you turn it on it will roll back over and now it goes back to normal mode so this is what allows your car to be in neutral and you can put it back in and everything goes back to normal. Now what I do and I will do once I stop this camera, you could remove this whole shifter. and you could deactivate that cable that goes here now, the only problem is that if you ever get towed you have to go through the trouble of putting it back together, but it's a lot better than having someone push your car, so I'm going to do that in a second.
I want to wrap up this video, but you can do it too just to take extra precautions to be safe and buy your car so it doesn't get stolen. And another thing is that before finishing the video, on the 22nd, This is a 2022. They made it where you can take it to the dealer. You can upgrade it where they lock the module that programs your keys, but the problem is that if you ever lose your own key, no one can do it. program a key so you have to replace that module, they have to program new keys and it's expensive, but for now I'm going to kill it, I'll keep an eye on the kill switch and I'll probably get the update sooner or later.
I've already done that so that'll be it for today's video guys if you learned something new make sure to hit the like button if you want me to make another video on something you want to know make sure to leave it in the comments at continuation. I'll go over them, but that'll be all for today. Make sure to subscribe if you're new and we'll see you around.
