camp with Paul Reed Smith. Well, while I was there, I visited the PRS factory to create a private guitar. This was a gift from Paul to me as part of his thanks for helping. Private Stock is PRS's custom shop made up of boutique builders with decades, if not centuries, of experience between them. They link in the description to a PRS video explaining exactly what Private Stock is. If you are interested in learning more, all woods for private stock guitars are stored in this wood. The library is called a vault here. I spent time choosing the wood for the top of the guitar, the neck, the fingerboard, and the headstock veneers. After choosing the wood materials, we start making customizations, including body shape colors, fret inlays, and really any details you can think of.

it. I couldn't be more pleased with the end result. I thought I'd add just the specs of this guitar at the end, maybe a couple of sounds without the recording, just so you can hear exactly what's going on. I continue with this instrument and what makes it so special. I have the spec sheet here. It's obviously a single cut McCarty 594. I will start with the wood of the neck because it is something mysterious. This is a very rare piece of black rosewood that Paul hand picked just for me, let's just say you won't find many guitars with this type of neck in the world.

The fingerboard is a beautiful, amazing, unique piece of exotic ebony and you saw me pick it up in the pictures behind. The stage design for this guitar was the first fretboard piece I picked up and I knew it would look amazing. The binding is curly maple, so you can see that little bit of curly maple, just a beautiful accent here, uh, with. the rosewood on ebony the top is unreal it's a one piece maple top and again I knew it when I picked it up and Paul agreed with me this is also the next piece he's trying to see which piece I like best because is one of these this is the best top yes this is what i thought too this is the first one i bought don't think too much about it it has a cracked nitro finish so this finish will organically check itself over time and I just think. that's really cool for the pickups I chose 5815 to accentuate my other single cutaway options that I have in my arsenal so just one straight humbucker, split coil, both humbuckers in action of course when you increase the gain it just goes goes crazy oh um I'm discovering new parts of this guitar every time I pick it up and it will be a great friend to me for the rest of my life thanks for watching this video thanks for all your support almost 10 years ago until the day I I graduated college and was pursuing a music career, I just didn't know what it was yet and I had this guitar to my name and now I have this one and now it's like a little brother. big sister little brother um I don't know what else to say I'm really happy until next time
