Theoretical Longest Speedruns

Jun 07, 2021
Hello everyone, I'm Bescape and welcome to the Longest Theoretical Speedruns. It's been almost four years since EZScape covered the Top 10 Longest Speedruns, and today I'll be covering even longer

speedruns

that would require not just hundreds... but thousands of hours of gameplay. The longer sprints in this video are based on segmented time, not real time... so you'll be in luck when we get to number one. I don't want to spoil anything so let's get straight to the video and I hope everyone enjoys it. The first is a 100% True version of Perfect Dark. In the arcade version of the game for Xbox Live, the normal 100% World Record time is 2 hours and 4 minutes according to Endeavorgaming, and in this run, the player must complete the game on the Perfect Agent difficulty, unlock all cheats and win the duel.
theoretical longest speedruns
The XBLA version is faster than the N64, but this gives us an approximation of how long this segment would take. The biggest part of a True 100% run would be getting the Perfect rank in Combat Simulator, which takes 300 hours and this is because the game forces you to play as long as the requirement to reach the Perfect rank. To reach this rank during that time, a player would need to rack up 18,000 kills, use 450,000 rounds of ammo, win 900 games, run a total of 9,000 kilometers, and more. It stands to reason that if you played at maximum efficiency, you could complete all the requirements before the limited time requirement.

More Interesting Facts About,

theoretical longest speedruns...

Another large portion of the run would be spent completing all the single player challenges and then completing them again in 2, 3, and 4 player mode as the game keeps track of this. The current world record for all single-player challenges is Big Bossman's 1 hour, 29 minutes and 51 seconds. We can assume that it would take the player this amount of time at a minimum for the co-op challenges, so if you multiply Big Bossman's time by 4, we get a little over 6 hours for this section; However, all of this can be done in 0 time in Combat Simulator, as these are Combat Simulator challenges.
theoretical longest speedruns
The rest of the race requires the player to complete all of the device challenges and holographic training challenges, but this would only take 6 minutes, so at least this is the easy part. So if we add everything up in total, this entire run would take a minimum of 302 hours. Before we continue, I would like to announce once again that EZScape and I have partnered with Feeding America to help support Covid relief. For every $1,500 we raise, we'll create speed racing competitions on EZScape's second channel. The two new incentives I'm announcing today are Captain Falcon SM64 Romhack and Softlock percent from Gen 1 Pokemon Games.

If each and every one of you donated just one dollar, we would completely achieve our goal. There will be a donation link in the description and in the pinned comment. Thank you. This second entry will be a quick review and is 100% Baten Kaitos. This speedrun isn't entirely

theoretical

since there's a race on the leaderboards, but it's still the

longest

completed speedrun of all time, so I decided to include it anyway. To clarify once again, the reason this speedrun is so long is because of an item called Shampoo, which takes 2 weeks or 336 hours to evolve; which means that it is impossible to complete this race in less time.
The reason this quick run takes even longer is because items pause their evolution while they are in the menu, so it pays to have quick menus during the run. Additionally, the game's final bosses must be defeated, meaning a run will take a minimum of 338 hours. Baffan currently holds the world record with a time of 339 hours, 17 minutes and 19 seconds. What's more interesting about this speedrun is that Baffan's Twitch account was temporarily banned for 24 hours due to "non-gaming content" as he left the game idle all night while he was sleeping. In 2016, Twitch had different policies regarding being AFK, mainly because there were no IRL categories at the time.
Baffan made a new career attempt in September 2019 that failed on day 5 due to a mistake, but as long as he put "Not playing" on his board while he was inactive, there were no problems. The next step is the execution of All Europa Universalis 4 Achievements, which would take at least 600 hours. The interesting thing about this game is that it is limited by an in-game timer, so you can't be sure that each achievement will be reached before the end of time. It starts on November 11, 1444, increases one day at a time, and ends on January 2, 1821. Your game will end here no matter what the world looks like, so there will probably be a lot of restarts during some of the more difficult segments. .
The game consists of taking control of a nation and commanding its army, navy and all diplomatic actions. From there, the future of your nation depends on you... for the most part. At first glance, this game seems incredibly complex and challenging. A runner of the game, MiklMaar, told me that he played for more than 1,500 hours before achieving his first world conquest. Paradox Studios has rated the achievements for this game from "Very Easy" to "Crazy," but this rating is graded solely by difficulty, not by time to complete. There are a total of 310, meaning each achievement takes about 2 hours on average, but of course some are significantly longer than others.
Some of the most extensive include The Three Mountains, which require you to conquer the world starting as the nation of Ryukyu. The achievement One Faith! requires that all non-vacant land provinces in the world be of your religion, and The Great Khan, requires that you start as Mongolia or the Great Horde and own the Chinese, Russian, and Persian regions. These alone can take between 15 and 20 hours each. As for the hardest achievements in the speedrun sense, they would be Eat Your Greens and True Heir of Timur, as they have very strict limits based on in-game timers, so you need to find the perfect balance between optimized gameplay and fast. .
Also, if you were to do an All Achievement run, it has to be on "Ironman," which means you can't use console commands to cheat, you can't use mods, and your game will overwrite your current save every three months. . So you can't save before a war and just load your save file if it went wrong. So for those up to the challenge, MiklMaar wrote a 61 page route for this race and I'll link to it in the description. Even if you have no interest in running the game, I recommend checking it out to see the wealth of routes and details.
Next up is a 100% run of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, and it's estimated to last at least 610 hours. In reality, 50 of these hours would be spent playing a different Harvest Moon game, A Wonderful Life. In this game, there are 49 tasks to complete, such as befriending people, fishing, earning a certain amount of money, etc. For each of these 49 tasks, you must connect A Wonderful Life to Friends of Mineral Town with the Gameboy Advance to Gamecube link cable and throw an object at the Goddess in Friends of Mineral Town. If you log in 49 times after completing the requirements for A Wonderful Life, the Goddess will give you a seaside cabin, which is a requirement for this career.
Another 40 hours would be spent catching all the fish, getting all the tools, getting all the recipes and Power Berries, unlocking the Mountain Cottage, and much more. The remaining 520 hours are used to earn 100 million gold, which is the exact amount to buy the Townhouse. According to calculations, the best way to win so much gold is simply by betting on horse races, which are held on the 18th of spring and autumn of each year. By betting on them, you will spend around 16 carats of gold each year on medals, which you will use to buy brooches. They sell for 2,000 each and, on average, this generates a net profit of 135,869 gold per year.
So to unlock Town House, it will take 736 years of time to progress in the game. If you run the game on WiiU VC, which provides the fastest loading times, the horse races take about 18 minutes in real time to complete, and to get to the next year as quickly as possible, you'll need to sleep in. game for about 24 minutes and 20 seconds in real time. This means that about 236 hours are spent betting on horse races and 284 hours sleeping. Imagine finally retiring in a townhouse at the ripe old age of over 736 years old. This list wouldn't be complete if there wasn't an Animal Crossing game here, so the following is a 100% Animal Crossing: New Leaf run.
The first hurdle in this race would be to pay off all debts, which is based on a bug that is only present in version 1.0 of the Japanese release of this game. The current world record for this is 1 hour and 32 minutes, but the glitch settings are inconsistent and can vary wildly. The next part of the race would be to complete the museum, which requires a racer to obtain every fish, bug, fossil, and painting from Crazy Redd. Like other Animal Crossing games, fish and bugs are tied to the in-game days, seasons, and weather, so on average it is said that this alone would take around 11 hours, which is also fish, insects and fish purely RNG. fossils and paintings.
The next achievement would be the updates to all stores, the first being the Nook update. This requires a runner to pay the first debt, spend 12,000 bells or obtain 15 items from the store, wait 10 days, spend 25,000 bells and wait another 10 days, spend 50,000 bells and wait 21 days, and finally spend 100,000. chimes and letting 30 days pass. After this, you'll have to pass Gracie's Fashion Check, where you'll have to put together an outfit based on a theme, a total of four times. On top of this, upgrading the Able Sisters Fashion Store, Fortune Teller Store, and Roost Cafe would probably take 2-3 hours.
The next achievement would be to obtain All the furniture. In the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing, you can use the secret code system to get all the items effectively. This is not an option in New Leaf, meaning a runner would have to get the final upgrade from the Nook store, which would give them access to the most items per day. A runner would then have to constantly travel back in time to refresh the store and wait for new items that he hasn't yet obtained to become available. Since most tiers do not allow multiplayer, the only way to complete it would be to use brute force.
It is believed that All Furniture could take a player between 55 and 80 hours. So far, we have a minimum of 95 hours of gameplay, but the final challenge is to add a minimum of 500 hours, due to the Gold Badge requiring 500 hours of gameplay. All gold badges would be the final challenge of this race, and if we assume a runner has a blistering pace, all gold badges could be earned before 500 hours. For all my Desert Bus fans, we have 99 matches or Max%, which would take a player approximately 792 hours to complete. According to a 2009 TASVideos post, the maximum number of points you can earn is 99, and you earn one point by driving a bus from Tucson, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada in real time at a maximum speed of 45 mph.
Once this is completed, the player will have the option to make the trip back to Tucson, for another point, and this decision must be made within a few seconds or else the game will end. Each ride lasts about 8 hours, and it's impossible to tap a button to do anything else and have the game end properly. If the bus goes off the road, it will stop and be towed back to Tucson, also in real time. There's also no pause whatsoever, so you're forced to watch the game indefinitely, meaning it would be impossible for a single player to reach a score of 99, because you'd have to stay awake for 792 hours straight.
To put this in perspective, the world record for

longest

time awake without drug use is 264.4 hours, held by Randy Gardner, which was set in 1964. Imagine if you had played this game back then, you would have only been one third. to the race. Additionally, the online charity gaming marathon called Desert Bus For Hope, where volunteers pilot the game based on the amount of donations, remains more popular than ever. Their most recent event, held in 2019, raised a record $864,415 and volunteers traveled by bus for 162 hours. Next up is Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, which is an expansion to the original Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and has more missions, equipment, and of course, monsters.
A 100% game completion involves completing all missions, unlocking all rewards and titles, and collecting all max-level armor and weapons. The speedrunning community for this game agreed that the game's 406 missions would take approximately 200 hours, but for everything else, it would take an additional 700 hours, so at least 900 in total. Most of the game's missions can be completed in between 5 and 30 minutes each, but most of the timecareer would be spent searching for better equipment, and the items you get for the equipment are RNG. With high-level weapons and armor, the plates and gems needed to craft them may have as little as a 2% chance to acquire.
There are also gathering quests that are RNG only, so taking general luck into account, the 200 hour benchmark for quests seems accurate. As for weapons specifically, upgrading them can be visualized as a tree. If we specifically take bows, for example, there is one called Wild Bow I. If you upgrade it 7 times, you get the Jungle Bow II, which would be the most powerful bow in the Wild Bow series. This process is necessary for many other weapons, such as greatswords, longswords, and hammers, to name a few. The highest level armor in the game is G level, and it is subdivided between Blademaster and Gunner, which basically means melee and ranged armor, respectively.
The highest rarity is level ten and, like weapons, there are many of them. The awards take quite a bit of time and on paper the Gold Medal achievement is one of the longest to achieve as it requires you to complete all 6-8 star rated missions. In theory, collecting monster crowns, which are awarded for defeating the smallest size and largest size of a specific monster, would take longer because the sizes a monster appears in are RNG. You can collect them throughout the speedrun, but if the RNG is bad, you may have a long road ahead of you.
As for titles, there are over 400 to unlock, ranging from killing a certain number of specific creatures to earning 1,000,000 guild points. To put everything into perspective, there is a video that was posted in 2011 of a player showing off his 100% Guild Card. In the first seconds of the video we can see its playback time, which was almost 1,200 hours. So in a segmented sprint, this race could be fully completed in as little as 900. Next up is a Super Smash Bros. Melee All Posts race. There are 60 messages in the game ranging from unlocking stages, characters and game modes. But by far Chad's absolute message to unlock is 1,000,000 VS. mode matches.
I'm not kidding, this is coded into the game. The fastest way to complete a single VS. Match mode is done by playing Resistance mode as Falco and doing the B-side in the flat of death on the Flat Zone stage. The way to make this process even faster is by unlocking the “Random Stage” bonus rule, which is done by unlocking all stages of the game. If you choose to only play Flat Zone when you press start on the character screen, you will skip the stage selection screen and therefore save a bit of time between matches. At best, a single VS.
Mode matching takes approximately 6.12 seconds, and 1,000,000 of them would take approximately 1,700 hours. As for the other 59 messages in the game, the 250 Trophy message would take the longest, but it's nowhere near the VS. mode one. NCB1221 was the first person to complete an All Trophies race in 61 hours, but has since reclassified the category and the new estimate is approximately 24 hours. Basically, you'll unlock all the other messages in the game by also completing a run of almost all the trophies simultaneously, bringing the total number of hours to a minimum of 1,724. This is where the estimated time can start to make huge jumps.
This is a game called Anti-Idle, and the race in question is to reach level 9001, complete all 666 achievements, and obtain S rank in each mission. The core game is a core game with 3 coins of varying difficulty to obtain and subgames based on popular game tropes that reward you with coins in the core game. Here we have the button machine and all you have to do is click on it. Rewards regular coins, which can be used to purchase features like Arcade or the fishing mini-game. Or there's the Stadium, where you compete in races that also reward green and blue coins, which are used to purchase upgrades and items in the mystery shop, respectively.
You can advance when you surpass level 9000 in the core game, and different difficulties are unlocked when you start earning prestige through promotions. The real difficulty in the race would undoubtedly be the S rank in each mission. Some S ranks require physical challenge and the ability to master arcade games like a Minesweeper clone and pong. Others require immense amounts of active game time to complete in the quickest manner, for example defeating each of the 500 monsters on the battlefield 10,000 times for a level 2000 bestiary and taming each of those monsters. as allies. A complete completion would also amount to 1000 times.
TiKevin83 worked with some core Anti-Idle players to estimate that these Battle Arena tasks would take a minimum of 1,100 hours, and played the rest of the game to learn that the other requirements could easily take another 1,000 hours, bringing the total time up. of this speedrun to at least 2,100 hours. For an even tougher challenge, the bestiary can go from an additional 1000 levels to 3000 with around 10,000 hours of play, and a player named phantomwolf13 is known to have played for over a year to surpass this potential category. For the next entry, I'm not even close to being qualified to talk about this, so, resolved, remove it.
The next speedrun on this list is getting an ultimate cape in the Ultimate Ironman game mode in Old School Runescape. At the end of 2018 I completed my 7,000 hour journey to do just that. For those unfamiliar, a maximum cape is gained by reaching level 99 in all 23 skills; To put this into perspective, a player could do this efficiently in under 2200 hours on a normal unrestricted account. There are a few ways to restrict and challenge yourself in the game, and that is to choose to play like an ironman. A normal Ironman cannot trade with other players, but Ultimate Ironmen cannot use banks in the game either.
The challenge of this game mode is to progress your account using only the 28 slots provided in your inventory, while a bank has over 800. However, there are some ways around this, such as using a loot bag or abusing certain bosses to get more money. storage. With this disadvantage, most of the 23 skills suddenly change completely from how they are usually trained. Just to put one skill in perspective, let's take Herblore, which is by far the hardest to reach level 99. A normal account could reach Herblore level 99 in less than 40 hours, given the player has enough gold to fund the skill before. -hand.
But in this game mode, you're basically training Herblore from your first breath to your funeral bed. Since you can't buy the necessary herbs and secondary ingredients, you'll have to collect them all yourself, with limited space. It is almost impossible to estimate how long this skill actually takes, although most of it can be trained passively through farming, most Ultimate Ironmen do not finish the skill until they are very close to the max. Earlier this year, one of Jagex's moderators tweeted an image showing the fastest times to reach the maximum total in each game mode in Runescape, and they can be considered the current records.
The fastest unrestricted account ever to max out all 23 skills took 89 days and 20 hours of play, while the fastest Ultimate Ironman ever took 206 days and 10 hours, just shy of the 5,000 hour mark, which is a record currently held by Hauki. Although this challenge has now been completed, it is still

theoretical

as there has not been a person who has obtained a maximum cape by trying to do it as efficiently as possible. Since the game is constantly evolving, the time it takes to max out is only decreasing, and for a while it was thought that the absolute minimum playtime to max out a ult was probably around 4,100 hours, but thanks to some new improvements .
Game updates and method optimizations over time, the total time could be less than 4000 hours now. Just to put everything into perspective once again, this game mode came out on October 13, 2014, almost 6 years ago, and there are only 36 players in the world with a maximum account. Thanks Settled, and before I talk about entry number 1 on this list, I'd like to give an honorable mention. The honorable mention for today's video is the 100% No B-Spec speedrun of Gran Turismo 4. A course like this has never been attempted, but a group of four friends successfully completed it on April 7 of this year.
This speedrun involves completing all license tests, races, and driving missions without using B-Spec, a mode in which the player trains an AI-controlled driver while the driver races on their behalf. If you want to play at 100% without having to drive for hours at a time, you can put your B-Spec controller in a car with plenty of power and just leave the console on. This is useful since there are 3 24-hour races in the game. So you can do it on your own and pause for breaks, or use B-Spec; which is what you would see most players do. So with a group of four people getting in and out, it was not uncommon to see one person behind the wheel for many hours at a time, and when I say behind the wheel, I literally mean AT THE WHEEL.
In fact, there's a Pastebin FAQ that runners asked that describes the reason for doing this, which says: "We're dumb, we're in quarantine for three weeks, no one has ever completed this category before, let alone passed it, and We thought we might as well be the first, and we're all fans of racing games, and they say run the games you love, right? This game was all over the Speedrun subreddit, and for good reason, it's one of the

speedruns

. most interesting. This speedrun recorded a time of 230 hours, 35 minutes and 51 seconds. I would like to congratulate the runners, Tyler, Shawn, Jonah and Paul, you are legends!
The last entry today is a 100% true run. from Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories. In a standard 100% race, a racer must obtain 689 of the 722 cards in the game. In fact, there was a new 100% world record that was set on May 23 with a time. of 72 hours and 34 minutes. So the question is, why are the other 33 cards not obtained in the race? To start, there are two cards that are impossible to obtain in the non-Japanese version of the game; Dark Magic Ritual and Black Chaos Wizard. However, if you play the Japanese version of Forbidden Memories with a Pocketstation, you can get these two cards.
Once again, another strange version difference between NTSC and JP. Now, as for the other 31 cards, it would be crazy to get them without cheating. Most of these cards require 999,999 starchips to purchase, but three of those 31 cards have special exceptions. A good example would be the Chakra card. This card itself cannot be obtained, but you can buy the cards you need to ritually summon it, so Technically, Chakra can be obtained if you have maximum Starch Chips, but it cannot be purchased directly. The other two cards are Javelin Beetle and Harpie Lady Sisters. Javelin Beetle can be ritual summoned, and Harpie Lady Sisters can be obtained by fusing Harpy Lady, another max starch card.
Technically, you can buy Harpie Lady Sisters to get maximum Starch Chips, but since the game will keep track of this card if it is Fusion Summoned, it is not necessary to purchase it. Therefore, a total of 28 cards would need to be purchased in the store to get the maximum starch chips in a 100% True roll. The quickest way to get this many starch chips would be to reach S rank in duels, and each duel would award 5 starch chips. If we do some quick calculations, this means that it would be necessary to complete 200,000 duels to purchase ONE CARD.
On average, a duel takes around 1 minute to complete, so to purchase a card, it would take around 3333 hours. But let's say we break the rules of standard execution 100% and allow duplication and sharing of memory cards. You will be able to effectively purchase all 28 cards with a maximum starch chipset. If this is done, a true 100% run with trading would take at least 3400 hours. But let's say we get down to business and don't allow duplication or sharing. Let's take 3333 hours and multiply that by 28 cards. Let's also add the 72 hour time for the standard 100% and we get a total of 93,396 hours.
This would take a player 3,891.5 days... segmented time, of course. Let's say you want to spend the rest of your life trying to do this legitimately and you spend 8 hours of your life every day dueling. Since there are 24 hours in a day, the RTA time would be three times the segmented time. If a person did this, it would take him a total of 31.98 years in real time. I'll see them when I'm 55 years old. Very good, this marks the end of the video and if you enjoyed it, leave a like, it helps us to be recommended. With an ambitious project like this, I want to thankHugely to everyone who gave me information for each of these games, they are all listed in the description.
I imagine there are even more theoretical speedruns that I may have missed, and if you know of any, please leave them in the comments section. This list wasn't limited to those featured, and I'd be totally willing to do a part 2 if you guys wanted to see it. If you're enjoying the content EZScape and I publish, please subscribe to the channel for more speedrunning related content. That's all from me today, thank you all for watching and I hope you have a wonderful day.
