The WORST Sequel I've EVER Seen | Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate

a while ago i reviewed the amazing movie mega mind and i thought it was a really underrated movie, let me turn down the brightness, my face looks like a fucking ghost, the writing was amazing, the comedy was amazing, it did a great job of showing the

megamind

anti-hero, a big redhead and no maidens, he explored the existentialism of Megamind and realized how the only reason he enjoyed and was a villain was simply the back and forth between him and Metroman, so when I heard we were making a

sequel

of this movie. I was scared, to say the least, and my fears definitely came true.

Hell, I don't think I would have expected something so atrocious to come out of Mega M. Now it's the only thing I can compare. This movie is the Mega Mind video game, something I actually played on stream before I was just chilling on my stream watching stuff and all of a sudden Mega Mind SE was recommended to me and I watched the trailer and instantly it hit me. oh that's not Will Frell, that's not David Cross, that's not Tina Fay sounds pretty devious, think like her, oh man, like they didn't get any of the voice actors.

It's one of my favorite things in the whole world. Keep having fun. I'm going with mental mega rules for the new series, yeah I'll pass before we get into this horrible excuse for a movie, let's talk about something that's not so horrible. Now there are a lot of people who have bad habits, including me, and that's something I. I'm not really someone who is very interested in having a

sequel

many times. I feel like it's better to leave it alone, whatever, you know, money. and I understand what Dream Works was trying to do right: they wanted to make a series, they wanted to make this starting point to just get cash to make more money, look it's all outside of this movie, they also made a series and I'd like mentioning that this is all on peacock, and if you know anything about peacock, that shows that this is absolute garbage. I admit I didn't watch the show, but I didn't want to suck so much.

I will mention one thing, though Keith Ferguson, the guy who plays Mega Mine, is the same guy who did all the voice acting for the games' commercials. Actually, he technically has a lot more to do with Mega M than Frell. However, if you have your The First Movie that is loved by so many people and you have these specific voice actors and then you just say screw them, let's get fresh new meat, people are not going to be happy with that and obviously with the reviews it's pretty obvious that people are not happy with it now.

I will mention that these reviews definitely have a lot of hate behind them for that reason, precisely for the reason that the recast of everyone, obviously, people are going to be, quote-unquote, criticizing this movie, however, even with the cast original of this movie would still be terrible. Now we can make excuses all day as to why this is one of the

worst

reviewed movies of all time, but let's look at the animation a bit. The animation in the first film is fantastic. Great, it's what you expect. from dreworks, the animation in this looks like Paw Patrol or PJ Masks, literally everything within this movie.

The animation, the story, it all reminded me of a cheap kids show my son watched, it just falls flat and everything feels cheap, so the story. is set 2 days after the event of the first film, which is honestly a very strange way to set up a sequel. They're pretty blatant about the fact that they're just trying to turn this into a series and to make matters worse, everything. and when I say everything I mean everything that happened in the first movie was basically spit and what I mean by that is all the character development, you know, the relationship between Mega Mind and Rockan, they hated each other at first, but then I know Megamind started falling in love with her and then she started falling in love with him and in the end they were a couple, yeah that all happened because in this movie they basically act like they know each other but they don't like each other.

Honestly, they are constantly annoyed at each other throughout the entire movie and don't even acknowledge the fact that they like each other, which was established in the first movie and another thing that was established in the first movie that they spit on Minion's voice . by David Cross is the character we all know and love. They had a little fight in the first movie because Minion was like, Hey, I'm underestimated and the

megamind

says whatever, I don't care and they fight a little bit. They go on different paths and then they meet, in the end they reconcile and realize that, in a way, they were made for each other and then they start treating each other as equals, but in this movie the same thing happens.

One thing happens, they fight a little for some reason. Minion changes his name to his old friend. Minion doesn't feel like he's respected enough as a companion, so he happily leaves alone. He gets a job while Megamind does his thing. They realize that they need each other at the end of the movie and then they meet and literally everything that happens in the first movie as far as character development or should I say the good writing of the first movie movie was just recycled and made in the

worst

way possible, so basically what I'm saying is this movie shouldn't have been made, there's absolutely no point in it being made, the story makes no sense, Doom Syndicate, which we'll get to in a moment, doesn't make sense.

It makes sense, since most of you probably won't see this movie, let's go over a little summary of the movie together, so the beginning starts with a summary of the breaking of the fourth wall, yes, throughout this entire movie, everything is spoon fed. For you, as a baby, it's honestly an insulting movie, but anyway, the beginning starts, he breaks the fourth wall and says, oh man, remember that first movie? Remember when I made it, it was great, guys, wasn't it great? I'm the best anyway, we're going to make this movie now and this movie is filled to the brim with liners and it's very difficult to sit through all this, we have to hold you until we can transfer you to your fish tanks in jail.

It's a tough caliber to crack, you guys were great villains, but as heroes, you guys are all wet, like what that means, but anyway, the beginning of the movie is kind of a fight between Mega M Minion and you know they're the good ones. and stopping the bad guys who are just fish, that's all, I really don't know and how he defeats them is so stupid and again doesn't make sense, so these are fish, right? They have a tank that has a lot of water. They're in a fish tank, so throw in the little dehydration cube.

I don't remember what it's called there, I guess it has a shark in it and instead of touching the water because they're in a fish tank and it shoots water so there's definitely water in there and that would make sense. He throws it there and then picks up a bottle of water that is on the floor. He runs to the tank. He lifts the thing and then pours the water over the thing. complicated and stupid. I'm going to try not to focus too much on the details because it's going to drive me crazy. I'm going to go crazy and the mega mind shows the minion that he still doesn't care.

In the first we already established that they are closer and care more about each other. Things like that, aren't you forgetting another Defender, sir? I don't think so and then we have Roxan, remember Roxan and how she was super upset. She was obsessed with being a very good reporter and that was like her dream, now it's not like that. In the first movie it was established that that was her dream, that was what she wanted to do and in the end she became a great reporter. true, but now in this movie, suddenly, she doesn't want to be a reporter and as if she didn't have viewers, the only constant is me, Roxan Richie, reporting on the achievements of others, although that was a dream and then a bit .

A girl comes up with a phone, we and this girl says, Hey, I have like a million followers on social media and look how many viewers I have. I'm streaming a show with half a million subscribers. Did you say half a million? Who is this child? Who is this character? What is he doing in this movie? And she is a recurring character. They literally just added a little bit of jenzy just because sometimes it doesn't fit, it doesn't make sense. Anyway, this girl walks up and starts spamming. some life advice from Andrew Tate you gotta get a side hustle girl you gotta get that bag you know you gotta go with the wind get them views girl you're a shark you gotta keep moving girl you gotta get a side hustle but anyway, apparently she's the president of the Mega Mind fan club and she's supposedly a big deal and I feel like another reason this character is here is just so we can bring out all the belief in yourself, follow your dreams, this character It is simply abandoned. there just to add that layer to it which again is poorly done what you have to do is find what you want to do and go for it look at me and as we get further and further into the movie we realize the mind from Mega. like a jerk in the first movie, yeah he was kind of a jerk, he was selfish, but then he realized that he cares about people and he does it as a method of projection because you know he doesn't realize who he is really and that was like the good writing of the first movie, while in this one he's just a jerk for no reason, like Minion starts mentioning that he wants to do more, he wants to be a sidekick, he wants to be higher up, which again was established in the first movie, but then Mega Mine just doesn't care and mocks and laughs at him.

I don't think you've thought about this old friend. I am the hero. You're the guy to hang out with. with the hero like, how is this? You don't even need to see the first mega mine to see this one, so anyway now we meet the Doom Syndicate, which is just a group of heroes recycled from different movies, we have bomb boyage, we have Ben. the rock guy from Fantastic Four or honestly you could add any obligatory rock guy from any superhero movie, we have Storm from X-Men and then we have the only semi original character which is Nighty Knight and this is just another representation how this movie is trying to appeal to little kids, so basically the joke throughout the movie is that he's a knight who has powers of darkness, like shadows and stuff, so he calls himself same Nighty Knight, but he acts like it's a super cool name, but it's obviously like a bedtime thing and it has stars and moons and things that look on them,like kids' bedtime toys, very low-level jokes that, you know, little kids would find absolutely hilarious, and that's why I say this movie feels like it was made for little kids, and Doom Syndicate for some reason. he's stuck in prison even though they can apparently get out easily because they do.

I guess they were stuck in prison for the entire first movie and suddenly decided they wanted to. to get out so they just do it I don't understand that anyway, the conflict throughout the movie, like throughout the entire movie, the main conflict is the fact that the Doom Syndicate still believes that Mega Mind is a bad guy and for some reason Mega Mind doesn't want you to think he's a bad guy. good guy now, which I don't understand because mega mind if it was the first movie, mega mind could use the fact that they think he's a bad guy against them, catch them and win and it's that simple, but no, we spent an hour during the whole movie. movie of Mega M trying to convince them that he's still a bad boy, it honestly makes you want to tear your hair out and it's weird because Mega Mine and Roxan, like in the first movie, we established that they are together and have romantic feelings for each other the other throughout this movie, they work together but hate each other like Roxan is constantly annoyed by him and just tired of dealing with him throughout the movie and even at one point in this movie ask "hey." Are you guys together and just saying it's hard to cross your arms and walk away from each other but there's obviously some romantic tension between the two of you?

No, it's complicated what happened in the two days between the first movie and this one, that's what I want. to know because apparently a lot happened, there are even points in the movie where Mega M actually helps a Doom Syndicate commit crimes to convince them he's not a good guy, which again, what's the point? And then we have a scene where there is a villain. party that in this situation, if it were the first mega mind movie, it would have easily created a trap for all these villains, since it was centered in one place of the party, it captured them all, easy job done, but no, not even during this dance party.

What he is doing, he is constantly trying to convince everyone that he is still a bad guy, however the fish remember the fish from the beginning of the movie, every time Mega Mind stopped them, they end up appearing in the picture and trying to tell everyone, hey, Mega M actually. a nice guy, so we get a whole scene of him trying to turn them into little boxes. I don't know, I don't know what he calls them, just so he can convince everyone that he's not a good guy again. Get it anyway, we discovered phase two of Mega Mind's grand plan.

I guess when he was a villain he had this big plan. Along with the Doom C, they indicate that they planned to put Rockets under Metrocity, lifting it up and simply sending it away. to the moon, I don't know why there's not really an explanation for why they're doing it or what the benefit is to them or why it's even bad because they even have an oxygen dome over the city, so in context, that's In fact. something good because they are colonizing the moon so I don't understand what's wrong with all this so again instead of Mega M finally saying hey uh actually I'm a good guy I fooled them all the time .

Now you're captured, game's over, I win, oh wait, wait. I would like to mention that he did that. I forgot it. I almost forget it. He did it 53 minutes into the movie. I'm not kidding. 53 minutes into the movie he finally realized it. he can use the fact that he's tricking them to his advantage, so instead of coming up with some grand plan to properly secure them, make sure they're actually trapped, he just says, "Hey, everyone, stay there for a photo" and then he gets his little robot to make a cage the robot malfunctions they take him out why it took an hour of movie for mega mind you know mega mind the guy who is super smart to figure out how to catch the Doom Syndicate I can't write very well so which anyway, another recycling from the first movie, Megamind, gets defeated by the Doom Syndicate, gets sent out of town and does this whole moping thing like he did in the first movie, remember when he was against Titan and Titan beat him up and then he's like oh I can't beat Titan he's too strong for me oh man this sucks and he's depressed and sad the same thing happens again oh yeah the whole movie Chum was working at this restaurant and then he ended up making the restaurant extremely successful and then uh he and mega mind get back together because mega mind realizes oh i need my partner i mean my minion or should i say old friend i guess that's his new name , so it was like what was in the movie, I mean, me.

I don't really know what to say about that, one hour to stop the Doom Syndicate, so stick with the list, we're not here to explore, so mega mind, mega mind, super genius, who can create all these crazy weapons. Creations, you already know everything. these inventions you want to know how he, you want to know how he fights the Doom Syndicate, it was like a big laser, it was like a big robot that he had in the first one, it was the cloaking device of him, you know? The list goes on of all the crazy ideas he could have here, he uses a tennis ball gun, he and Roxan get like one of those tennis balls and just shoot tennis balls at him, why, for what purpose?

Anyway, how the movie ends is Minion or The Old Friend ends up stopping the city from blowing up and, yeah, we have to end it somehow to promote the show they're trying to show us and that makes it even more like PJ Mask or Paw Patrol because I have this brain in a glass jar floating around saying, "Oh, you guys didn't beat Mega Mod, but I taught him everything he knows and that's how he ends up, you know, on a cliffhanger, saying : "Oh, everyone should watch the show." I'm not watching that, uh-uh, I'm not watching that for babies I honestly don't understand what they were thinking with this I guess they were trying to appeal to kids type shows. this is a damn DreamWorks movie, it did so well and then it just came out again.

I don't know the only thing I can compare this to is the mega mind game, because of how dumb, dumb and cheesy it is. , it could all also be due to the same voice actor who voiced Mega Mine in the game, but there it is, it's a basic summary of the movie. Don't you dare ask me to watch the show. I don't want to do that to myself. I already had to see the movie.
