May 30, 2024
foreigner happy Wednesday everyone I hope you're having a great day if you're watching this and you realize okay it's a good Wednesday but we're sitting on the couch because we have a very special guest in the house today we have my father Willie Robertson handkerchief and everyone who didn't get the note that this was like a full body photo, surprisingly to some people they thought I didn't even mess with this, but I didn't know potentially my legs, you should know, quite a nice space, um, waist. and then some camouflage shorts with his swim shorts and yeah, I wasn't prepared, but then you put this pillow down and I thought it might just be an extension of my beard, but now it's like I'm sitting here shirtless. just swimsuit because it's terrible, so if you're listening to this and not watching this, you'll have to watch it on YouTube later to get the full effect.

Also, if anyone from Hocus is watching this, no one has more hokas than this guy here, so if you're looking for some sponsor deals, he's the guy, yeah, yeah, he's the guy. By the way, you would definitely think you were sponsored by Home because his entire wardrobe is ridiculous. many players I like the shoes I have How many pairs did I have out of the box or do I still have there oh my goodness, well I made a deal, you talk a lot, I talk a lot at every event I did, I wanted to have? a new pair of shoes which is useful, but I started

icipating in too many events so now I have to mix some others, but, yes, I like the way he loves the Hoka lifestyle, they help me with my pimples and You definitely rock them, you definitely rock them, but I'm excited that he's on the podcast today, we're going to talk a lot about his childhood and his life and all the things, um, because there's a new movie coming out on the 28th. of September called the blind, if you

haven

't

heard

us talk about this yet or seen it on social media, it's a

story

about his father, my pepboy Phil's life before the dynasty, which I guess you can actually attest that all of your lives were not always like this. like a dynasty, well, no, and not just Phil's life but Kay's life, yes, and actually my life because I'm actually in the movie, yes, played by John Shepard, my grandson, your nephew when I was two years old, which is so sweet, isn't it great?

More Interesting Facts About,

the part of my family s story you haven t heard sadie robertson huff willie robertson...

Yeah it's fun to watch and that's the time period so we're talking about about 50 years ago this time period and uh no it wasn't like that you know watching the movie uh for me it's hard and I really Me I felt bad for mom and dad because it's like you're taking the worst

part

of your life and then you know, burning it up in pictures and screens, you know you're going to live forever, so it's hard and I know it was hard for them because you know a lot of things in your past and you say, move on and there are no error records and you know you have no past, only a future, but here we stop at that moment, I think for show.

The shock was how close it was because there was never a dynasty, I was never Duck Commander, you never know, to have something come out, who knows, you might not exist, uh, if that were the case, and then you realize how close that was in our life. and obviously for the life of me, I'm very glad that that was able to work, but really how close it is to the lives of many people and some don't know it, yes, they don't know it, they are not rescued by the gospel and they don't know it. you know and their lives fall apart or people die or you know they overdose and all this kind of stuff and then you realize how important it is for that life change to happen, so that was just a real one. sobering thought and it's very different than the Doug Dynasty, uh, because now you see once there was Redemption, once there was a change of life and once you know that we've lived our lives this way, then you see fun and comedy and uh,

family

and prayer at the end of a show, but this is when it was like, uh, it was bad and then the marriage, uh, my parents' marriage was essentially over, uh, Phil had kicked us out of the house, um, There's just no good guy and I think Kay at that time was looking for something, she obeys the gospel, and fortunately, Dad's sister, Maya Jan, who has also passed away now, had this real Burning Heart for God even at a young age. and he never gave it to her. she gets mad at her brother and then she goes and begs this preacher to go to this bar and talk to Phil and that's in the movie and um and Sophia, here's the gospel, uh, he's not like him, um, he does not.
the part of my family s story you haven t heard sadie robertson huff willie robertson
He doesn't even respond, you know, in fact, he probably doesn't want to hear it, uh, but that's how the gospel does when it gets to people's hearts, he let the Holy Spirit work and it wasn't until he really got to the end of himself and he was just desperate and alone and he had lost everything and that's when that seed that was planted he said, I want to go, I need to know more about that and so, um and yeah, that's that movie of really, uh, something like that. . they grew up and then you're starting to understand, um, even things with my grandmother, uh, grandmother, who you will have some memories of, but not much, and I'm sure you will, because she was great, even though she was mentally ill and, therefore , there were a lot of difficulties and challenges and I feel like they were in extreme poverty and the way they grew up and um, yeah, I think it's really extraordinary to just go out and end up being successful in business and obviously in television and all that. where did they come from. of uh that's awesome outside of the faith aspect too, it just really goes out and changes, you know, a link in a chain that seemed to be just desperation and then, um, uh, yeah, that's a um and I think The reason why which Phil is kind of like the Doug Dynasty, like when I first approached him about doing television and he was like a hard no, like no, you know no one's going to see this or it's not and um and I told him and then I said well, dad.
I think it could be a bigger platform for us to spread the gospel. Yeah, when I said that, he said, "Well, if it will spread the gospel, then I'll do it." We did Duck Dynasty, obviously, that happened not only through the show but also through the podcast through all the things the books that came out of that now this movie that also comes out of that so the movie was the same way it's like if we could show this and show what you were like and show what your

family

was like and how you had really ruined everything through sin and hurt and all that and show that you can be redeemed and I think at that thought he says, well, if it helps to money to share their faith or be open to the receptive gospel and that changed. and it's so remarkable to say that when I think especially about what you're doing and the impact that you have and the reach that you have and the people who listen to the books that you've written and all that and all the things that you do if you start backing away from this and you go back 50 years ago to a couple that was in Junction City Arkansas that had no money or fame, no, it's like nothing happened to them, a decision was made right there. that could have been one way or another and because that Faith was instilled in them because they obeyed the gospel because they changed their lives radically it immediately helped the three children of which I was the youngest at that time and if it had been only because it would have been worth the pity, it would have been like, hey, our families together, but once you start moving forward, then the commander comes out and can run Duck Dynasty like a business, changing my whole life, that now I go to a church. camp we wouldn't have gone to a church camp because we didn't go to church, that's where I met mom, yeah, that's where our family, all the other families, all the ones that came to Duck Dynasty, hundreds of millions of people all over the world were exposed to a sentence at the end of a show that had an impact now there are books now this movie your podcast everything you're doing none of it happens like literally hundreds of millions of people expose none of it happens you come back with that couple over there, yeah, if that guy doesn't come up and preach the gospel, yeah, if dad's sister says he's too far gone, if mom, yeah and even if mom says I can't get over it and I'm not willing to try and that inspires me to know that the impact of what God can do just from that

story

that inspires me to say you never know who will, so never give up on anyone because when he says it is worse and there is no way This can get better, just let the gospel get in there, let the Holy Spirit work, let it and then see how it can and does change lives.
Now I baptized this guy, I think last year, and I said, well, this is really going to have an impact on your life. children and he said Willie, I don't have children and I said, but you might have children, yes, and if you have children, this will affect their lives because now once you change your life, you must have a completely different perspective on life. and become a new person and that will directly affect your children, it's well, my goodness, it's so powerful and for so many different reasons, and we could separate the story of each different person in the movie and it can relate to someone here listening, already whether you are on baseball fields. position and you're too far away and you're living a life of sin and you feel trapped in it and you're like hitting rock bottom, this movie is for you or if you're like Jan, you're the sister who believes For someone who's too far away, you think you don't There is a way for him to change, but you still believe that you are still putting the right people in his life or you are in a marriage that is falling apart and you are the wife and you.
You are believing in your husband, but he will not come back as if this movie is a hit for many. Can you dream that you could be one of us children? It's not fair, yeah, like it wasn't fair to us when we were little kids, yeah, that our parents were. so for them to have gotten into that place for dad to be mean and cruel and not be there for us and all that and then we could have lived in that and just said well life wasn't fair and that ruined us All of you time It flies by when you have kids, it's like one minute they're just born or a baby, the next minute they're a couple months old and they're outgrowing their newborn clothes and that's where we are. with Haven, she's leaving those newborn clothes behind and putting on those three month old clothes and she's also starting to find her hands, she's figured out where her hands are and she can finally start hitting little things, she wants to hold little things, so It's so fun to watch our daughters grow up and I can't wait to see all the things they're going to do in their next season and Kiwico is actually an amazing company that helps them, you know, get all these fun things and seasons.
The ones they are coming into Kiwico are amazing if you

of it. It's a kids' subscription that encourages play and brain activity even in newborns like Haven. Ella's Panda Box is designed for newborns and toddlers and has up to Six products that are perfect for supporting development at that age, which I really remember when I had honey and she was like two months old. I literally Googled what to do with a two-month-old because I thought, what do I like? I feel like she wants to do something but I don't want to do it so it's nice to have something like this that can help you really know what to do and give them something fun, even at two months kids learn and grow. a lot in those first two years and believe me, it happens fast, as I mentioned, the panic rate helps babies at each stage develop new skills and activate their senses by doing what children do best: play and explore, and we all want keep our children safe.
I'm right and that's why I love that every product in the panda box is made with high-quality, non-toxic materials so I can focus on enjoying watching Haven meet her milestones. One thing that comes in panic fare is black and white cards and such. It was one of Honey's favorite things, uh, pro travel tip, we used to always carry your black and white cards on the plane and Honey would literally look up and I'd like to show her the different black and white cards and that would make her kept me entertained the entire time. flight so I'll definitely incorporate that with Haven uh it's so cute when Haven looks into your eyes or notices something her eyes get really big and those black and white cards really help with that so it encourages brain development, play with Kiwi Co right now get 50 off. your first month, did you hear me say that 50 off your first month plus free shipping at kiwicode.com promo code Sadie Rob that's 50 off your first month plus free shipping at kiwico k-i-w-i-c-o.com promo code Sadie Rob kiwico.com promo code Sadie Rob, go check it out so yeah, you can find yourself in that story somewhere, are you the guy, are you the preacher, are you someone who might need to go talk to someone?
Yeah, like you're thinking about someone right now who's going to go, I really need to talk to my sister, I need to talk to my cousin or I need to talk to that friend or that boyfriend or girlfriend, whoever it is, I need to just have a conversation because That guy got in the car and drove to a bar, which is very unusual acrossof people talking about it, that's, I'll take a thousand thousand, so that's what I hope to try to say, hey, you know this is a priesthood, you can go out and share this. and in fact, it probably means a lot coming from someone, although the case will feel like it was actually a preacher who went there, but then Phil became the same thing and I actually brought all these people and then that happened to me , No.
From what he told me, I saw it, yes, because I'm growing up. I saw that guy over and over again, not that everyone comes to the Lord or even understands that, so I mean our lives can be testimonies, yes someone can. Look at our family, which we've seen with Doug, it's good to go, hey man, you guys sit together, you pray together and you get along, you live next to each other, you work together in business, how does that happen? boom, yes, I can tell you. what to go back to the first games 15 because this is the most important thing for us, right, it's good, my God, I'm very excited. um, I can see you living this life.
I'll get to see you be an evangelist and mom and our family and I'm so grateful for that and that has greatly impacted my life and you are too, yeah, and it's not always just the important things, yeah, so this might even be someone you know. which is like, I mean, no, it could be any way you're sharing it. you know and you can always become, you know, learn that, go in there and do that, but it's great because what you said, like what we're doing now, is what we've always been doing when I think about, you know, talking and baptize people.
I mean, I'm not just talking about The Conference, where you know I can do this to preach to a lot of people and baptize a lot of people and it's amazing and exciting, that's great, but thinking back to ninth grade when I had a Bible Study at the house and baptize people in our bathtub because I thought this is dead for life, you know, like getting so excited and cheering up our school and talking to the girls that everyone judged and thought were just terrible and I well, let's talk to them about Jesus, you know, and then they will be baptized in our house and it's not like those are the moments of ministry, being an evangelist is not being a pastor, just being a pastor, yes, you can be that as a pastor. pastor, obviously, it's not about being like a social media influencer who preaches about Jesus like he's the person sitting across from someone at the coffee shop and it's like, hey, like you're struggling, let me tell you the good news. that you know and I love it. that you're publishing this book because I love that you said that you know what would happen if the structure of the Church was not just one person telling thousands, but thousands of people saying like this to those in their lives, this is what Revival will look like. that's when it's going to light up, that's when the nation will really start to change and the world will start to change, it'll look a little different, that light will start to take over the darkness and anyway, I'm really excited about that and very glad you wrote. that book and if you've heard this story and this cake, guys, and you have a lot to look forward to, you have the movie blind to watch next month, September 28, and also look forward to dad's book coming out.
I think this will be a great encouragement to you if you are someone who is struggling or someone you identify with in the story of the blind.
