The New Standard For Earbuds: Jabra Elite 10

Mar 05, 2024
Hey, here we have another pair of Jabra headphones and every time I go back to the Jabra headphones there is always a feeling of, oh yeah, like the worker knows what's important, like you can be picky about which headphones have better ANC or better audio quality, but there is never a deal breaker with jobber headphones, they are just very easy to recommend because they master the fundamentals like no one else does and these are the new jbra Elite 10, their latest pair of flagship headphones after a small pause like the one we have had. I haven't seen a jbra flagship pair in a couple of years so I've been trying them out for the last 2 weeks and I have to say they definitely did it again.

It is a great convenience. They have wireless charging. Of course, they have multipoint connectivity. physical buttons which I really like and I'll talk about that in a minute and they have a unique jobber design which again is just solid it's good it's easy to recommend so they come in five different colors this is the Coco color personally I really I like it, it's exclusive to some places, you can't buy it everywhere so I'll link below where you can buy it, but even in other places that only have four colors, it's still a lot more than most other headphones that come in white. or maybe black and white, so I'm a big fan of the color options and the case is pretty classic for Jabra, it's not the smallest one out there, but it's pretty slim in all dimensions, it has wireless charging via USBC on the bottom.

More Interesting Facts About,

the new standard for earbuds jabra elite 10...

Well, it doesn't sit upright like the old ones did, so it'll sit more like the Airpods and it's got a nice plastic, like matte rubber look to it, uh, I think it looks good, it feels really good and when you open it up, you have some sort of rubber wells where the

earbuds

go, obviously they sit there magnetically and the magnet isn't the strongest but it's good enough, the rubber like open design makes them easier to clean than other

earbuds

that have very deep wells and this one is ip54 waterproof for the case and the earbuds are ip57 and when you look at them they have even more like a layer of rubber jawra said they scanned like 40,000 or 50 I don't know thousands and thousands of ears to find the perfect geometry .

I'm very skeptical about it, but I have to say that headphones generally don't fit my left ear very well and I like these ones, they stay on very well, they're very comfortable, so I mean, as much as I want to be skeptical about the thing about scanning 50,000 years or whatever, I don't know, maybe that's right since they work for my ears. Also, we have a proximity sensor inside, so they have auto play and auto function. pause, they have that physical button on the outside. If you've seen my content on Jabra headphones or other headphones that don't have this, I always talk about it as if it's a nice feature to have a lot of.

The headphones have a capacitive touch sensor that works, but the physical button has some advantages, so , if your hands are wet it works, two if you wear gloves it works and three, you don't have accidental touches if you're adjusting. the earbud so you grab the outside like you know where the button is and where it isn't so it's easy to adjust them without pausing the music and unlike most other buttons out there no one else seems to be able to do that too . like Jabra does where it doesn't like, you don't press very hard, there's no really loud click, just a small subtle one, it's really the perfect tactile button.
You'll also see that they have three microphones on the outside, we'll get into a I tested the microphones in just a second, but just the overall aesthetic here. I think Jobert did a really good job of making them look more premium with that kind of brass or bronze look on the outside, the accent on the button. I think these look good turning to the inside of the earpiece, you can see it's a different shape, it's more of an oval, we've seen this previously on Jabra as well, but the intention here is to give you less pressure when you have active noise cancellation, so which is like a semi-open hybrid feels in your ears, it still feels closed, but it's not like a really closed feeling that some people really hate, but the trade-off with that is that you don't get the same level of passive noise blocking.
I did some really in-depth testing for active noise cancellation and passive noise blocking. I'll share those results in just a second, but let's get back to what I was saying about microphones and actually do a microphone test. number one indoors in a studio environment, it will probably be as easy as possible for these headphones, but let me know what this sounds like by the way it uses side tone right now so that when you're on a phone call you can hear myself talking , this sounds a little more robotic than Hearr makes it, so for some reason it's slightly different, but I can still hear myself talking and hopefully this does a pretty decent job.
Let's go out and see how it sounds in a noisier environment. so now I'm outside on a pretty busy road, it's a little breezy out here, let me know how this sounds, sorry it's so bright you can barely see me, but again, try the microphone outside, let me know what you think of these , so although these are a fairly compact size, they have 6 hours of battery life on the earbuds and 27 hours when you include the case. My first thought was that it's probably not with ANC, it actually has active noise cancellation without it, you're getting up. 36 hours total and then if you want to recharge just 5 minutes gives you an hour of listening, so battery wise these will be pretty solid for travel, work days or pretty much anything, they also have Bluetooth 5.3, it's good to see the new

standard

uh and they have monom mode, in addition to what I've been saying quite a bit in this video, they have multipoint connectivity, which I think is very important to be able to connect, like my Android phone and my MacBook and just switch no issues between them, it's just that Jobber has been doing it for years, most other headphones are just adopting it now, but in my opinion it's by far the best feature in a pair of headphones, now the cancellation active noise in these headphones, Jobber dials in their ANC. by different models, so these have the advanced ANC, which is like their flagship, the assets have like a level below, that doesn't really matter what they call it, the point is the ancn here, it's like it's good, no it's number one, but it's like it's pretty good, I've been working like here and there's been construction going on outside all morning, which completely blocks construction, so I usually do several different tests for the active noise cancellation on the headphones and I compare them all so you can see them in this graph. right here this is my white noise test against the lower frequencies, the sound of an airplane to be specific and then here it is looking at the sounds of the crowd which, like I said, has a little more difficulty with passive noise blocking and even more than that if you go to a higher pitched sound, so higher voices trying to block it out have a little more difficulty with this, but it still does a pretty decent job of blocking out the wind.
I don't have a good way to quantify this yet. I'm working on that, it will appear in future videos, but this does a good job in that if you have a lot of wind, it doesn't really replicate much of that in your active noise canceling ears, but if you switch to listening mode. They have side tone and listen. I'll explain the difference in these in a second, but you can hear some wind there too. Listen to transparency mode, which allows you to hear your surroundings and, long story short, is always improving. a little muffled uh and there is also some white noise, it's not robotic and it's definitely decent, but it's not number one, it doesn't compete with the arches and airpods, but it still works if you're listening to music and need to hear what's around you , it just ties in with Jabra, it just nails the fundamentals.
There's nothing super exceptional about these headphones in terms of andc or listening or sound quality, but they nail the fundamentals and that brings me to the sound quality. It's my first major complaint because they are in the premium category. I would strongly say that in the premium category they still only have SBC and AAC codecs. There may be a firmware update with better codecs later, but we're not getting high-resolution codecs at this time. Which I think is a big mistake here, if you want to have a more premium audience, you need to have the best audio resolution on these, the sound quality, although these have 10mm drivers, they are definitely very capable with the bass, you can equalize them. the app and I'll show it to you in a minute, but overall it's a good sound, it's solid, it definitely is, it's very passable, but it doesn't give you that crisp, detailed sound that you can get from some apps.
The adaptive deex or ldac codec available so far may look a lot like the jobra

elite

7, but there are some features that should differentiate them from previous models, as well as other headphones on the market, one of them being Dolby head tracking, a big one that they're advertising a lot this year, uh, I don't know, this is what all the headphone companies are releasing this year: spatial audio tracking, whatever you want to call it, you can look around you and like it sounds like recorded music. In one place, I personally hate this feature. I never use it.
I keep it disabled, but do you use it? Do other people use it? People should use it properly, like it's on every pair of headphones this year, maybe people will use it for things like movies or something or music, I don't know, regardless, these also have, like I said, auto play and auto pause , they have automatic volume adjustment, they have a customizable equalizer in the app, so let me show you a quick overview of the app, you can choose the sound mode, uh, of course, ANC, direct listening or off, you have Dolby spatial sound, Like I said, you can track your head.
You've got the equalizer, you've got some presets in there and you've got soundscapes which is great uh jbra gives you a lot of different ones in case you want to sleep with these or you just want to block out the sound but not listen to music maybe while you're concentrating or you work or something and if we go to the top you have a setting there, where you can update the firmware, you can customize your headphones by customizing the controls, for example, and if you touch my controls for media, like I actually go down to this Rabbit Hole to customize them, so you can press one, two or three times on any of them. of the buttons and customize exactly what it's going to do and they have quite a few options you can choose from so it's nice that you can do full customization, it's weird that you just have like you don't have to tap and hold oh and also we have a Spotify T feature to quickly launch Spotify and start playing from a playlist without having to take your phone out of your backpack, for example, you have those classic different modes that we could see with the Always on jra app and they have many of the Staples like the Google Fast pair and the Windows Swift pair so you can connect very easily to any of those devices, but they're also compatible with Smart TVs and iPhones and whatever else you want to use, they sell for $249, which sounds like a high price and I agree it's a lot of money, but at the same time for what you get I'd say it's really competitive for a premium pair of headphones considering these tick a lot of other boxes out there.
I'm really excited to compare them to the best of the best and I'm actually going to make that video. I'm working on it right now. I promise it will be out very soon and if you want to see it, definitely subscribe, but I will compare them to Bose, Sony, Airpods and every other premium pair you know. Leave a comment if you have any requests for that video, but I'm really excited for it to come out. I think these are going to be a really strong competitor despite being much less expensive than most of them.
