THE MATCHSTICK LIGHT!

Hello friends, welcome back to my channel and today I found some colored matches and what I thought I would do is incorporate some of these colored matches into a piece of wood like this. I picked this up quite a while ago and it's called Green English Walnut. I think it should turn out well. I'm going to make things a little better by using these matches. The idea of ​​what I have is that I want to embed the matches inside the piece of wood somehow and then. fill it with some resin, I'm not quite sure how to do it yet, I'll figure it out as I go, first of all let's put this on the lathe and get it ready, boy, now that we have this, I have no idea what to do. do the next thing, well what I think I'm going to do now is put this in resin, so that's the kind of idea I had at the moment, the kind of vision I have. in my head again I have no idea what this is yet I have no idea if it's our pot, an ornament from which matches are taken.

I don't know, but what I thought I would do now is "I'm going to put this in a pot, seal it with resin and then we'll come back and bring this back to the lathe and then we'll decide what to do with it at that point, what the hell is happening to it?" to this that's actually crazy? Not bad, although what happened to it. I've never seen anything like that before in my life, enough to open it, see what it is, see what's going on there, well, look at that, It's actually quite spectacular. I have no idea how that has happened, obviously some kind of air has gotten in there somehow creating that effect, but it actually looks very, very good, it looks like, I don't know, a kind of glass, I think when we put this together, whatever we're going to do with this this is going to look amazing, so this kind of weird piece is on the lathe, so now what I'm going to do is we obviously don't want to. get rid of that, which we can't anyway because it's a little deep, but we just want to round this out, get rid of all these little bubbles and things that we don't really want, these edges and I don't know, I have no idea what we're going to do. , but I am sure.

It will occur to me I really have no idea what to do with this. I'm racking my brain. I just can't think of anything right now. Something occurs to me but I don't know, I don't know if it should be a pop or some kind of bowl or it can't be a bowl because obviously that would ruin the effects. I guess I don't think it can be more of a kind of decorative piece that we can display. maybe with some

s okay so I think this is going to be more of an embellishment II than anything else as I'm cutting this out you can see these little cracks there are little cracks here so we're going to need I just have to have Be careful that they don't explode and fall into pieces, it shouldn't be enough, but I think if I go in and start trying to make a pot or something else with it, I think it might well fall over. bits, so obviously we would keep all the effect that is inside.

You can't see it right now because I sanded it, but you will when I start cleaning it. In reality, it doesn't seem like it's the best wood in the world. It doesn't really look that good, so what I'm going to do I think is going to be like the kind of feature area, so I'm going to cut out this circle and I'm just going to put a new piece of wood here, a different type of wood, still I'm not sure what, but we'll find something nice to trigger it, so I think it'll be kind of a show on that part, so we'll just film this part here and insert a new piece and then we can clean this up and then get it ready for what What are we going to do now.

What I found is I found this kind of piece of wood hanging out there kind of bent and looking pretty crooked. a nice piece of wood, although I'm not quite sure what it actually is but it looks pretty good so I thought this might form a sort of base for this, I'm not quite sure yet but I'm thinking it might sit like this and then this could be placed on top of there, maybe we can have some kind of

I have another idea so I'm thinking about scrapping the other idea now as I put a little lid on the top while I take this wood out and it's actually not that nice. It would be fair, I'm thinking about taking it now. hollowing out all this wood and leaving just the matches in place and the effect that will hopefully still be there because I think it could look a lot better and a lot better and then we could maybe fit maybe a better kind of filament light in the interior that will give an even better effect, so be patient now as we need to find a little piece of wood just to place on top.

Here it has nice grooves on the top. I found this really nice piece of wood. wooden actually and I'm just going to use a Slytherin of this, just a little top piece just to fit into this, this we could probably use and do something with it. There are cracks in it, but they actually look good and I already fixed it with super glue anyway, so they shouldn't be going anywhere, so I'm almost done with this little type of lid for this piece and put some sanding sealant.

I put some Yorkshire grating on. and now I'm going to finish it off with some of this chestnut cut and polish. I was in Yandell the other day and I picked up this thing that caught my eye and I thought it was a new product or something, what is it? Let me. I'm not blowing my own trumpet, I'm just saying it just shows. a little bit weird and I like weird things a little bit weird it's not finished yet it's not finished yet that little piece fits pretty well in there we hollowed this out so we can fit like a light in there now so now what I'm going to do is take it this piece to the lathe and make the base, so the idea is that this sits on the next piece so that we have our base ready now.

There's a couple of ways we can do this if we're going to turn this into some kind of light is we can put a proper light on it, fix it to the bottom and actually plug it into the wall and have a switch or we could have one of these little mini LEDs they have this on u-kiss and from a company called Wood Art Products and they make these little baby lights and also these little elite LED lights so I'm also using these which are great pretty neat , this might be an easier solution and maybe a better one too because I'm not quite sure if we should turn this into a proper lamp or not, if we just have it, you know, with just this literally being on it.

I like mine, I don't really know that I can always go back and turn it into a proper lamp if I want, but maybe we'll just use this little LED for this project I'm going to do now. I'm going to make a little insert so that it sits inside the base nice and neat and there it is. I'm not quite sure what to do with it if I'm honest, but as with most things I do, I really don't have much of an idea what's going on. become, but I like that, I like the idea of ​​just, I don't know, starting with a block of wood or some resin and not really knowing what's going to happen, so I had no idea that this was going to be a kind of light, I didn't even know this was going to have this kind of effect, obviously something went wrong in the process of setting the resin and I think air got in when I put the matches in, I think air also got inside some way and it started to form these kind of similar patterns, so obviously when we took it out it looked great, but someone knows what to do with it at that moment wanting to make a pot with it. or whatever, but as you start to move forward and you keep turning, you know things start to appear in your head and you start to think, Alexei, let's make this some kind of ornament or maybe a lamp, so there it is , there's the base with my little emblem on the bottom and I put this on the top here which I'm not really sure what kind of wood that is, but I thought it was nice just to top it off that just the grooves in there stand out .

If you want to get these slots out pretty good, but it's also pretty tight in there, which is pretty good, you get this out like this and there's your light and then you just twist it to turn it off, hopefully the guy who sells these.
