The Mandalorian returned for its second season and continued Dinjarin's journey months after my own journey was cut short. What followed over the next eight weeks shook me to the core, a story of tragically relatable proportions as the din moved from one unexpected scenario to the next, culminating in an indelible moment of acceptance and growth just as I was beginning to feel happy. . Realizing that despite the many twists and turns my year had taken, I was finally right where I needed to be all along, that despite all the things I tried to run away from before being forced to face them head-on, finally allowed me heal and despite the opportunities I missed.
In Florida I ended up finding a lot more over the next year and a half in Pennsylvania and I don't think I would have been able to find anything without the Mandalorian, because the things they carried, says author Tim O'Brien, the stories can save us. then, after all our other needs are met, stories are what we need most in the world. It's fascinating and maybe a little silly that Star Wars, a franchise primarily for kids, manages to be that story for me over and over again, but it's also not that story. By mistake, when George Lucas finished his fourth draft of Star Wars in 1976, he wanted to tell a story that applied the timeless ideas of Joseph Campbell's monomyth to a distant but identifiable space opera setting where childhood fantasy and ancient mythology merged into one. a cross. -Cultural sandbox, he believed as Campbell believed in cultures around the world, that we all have a destiny that we can ignore if we choose, but ifWe don't do it and follow it, we will discover whatever generation has the privilege to discover. themselves a battle between fear and hope the lifelong choice to be selfish or selfless and give something back to the entire universe is a great adventure and for most of us it will be, but not in the way we might expect , following your destiny is It's not always about blowing up death stars or learning the ways of the force, sometimes it's as sensible as starting a business, building a house, taking a life-changing road trip, and especially raising to a child and know if a spiritual force is really a guide or not.
To put that child on the right path, the very journey to do so is a long and winding one, one that will teach us lessons and change us in ways we cannot anticipate forever, in my opinion, that is ultimately what made the Mandalorian in the global phenomenon and one of the most important television shows of all time, is the perpetual mystery of its main character, the rule of cool, the familiar and attractive mythology well rooted in our cultural psyche and the world, the detention and the tenderness of Baby Yoda, but above all it is the unmistakable humanity that emerges in each adventure, even if you can't see a single human face, it's when you have to leave your child at daycare when you have two jobs and barely earn enough to survive when the group project goes worse. than you can imagine or when your car breaks down, breaks down or pretty much any car problem you may have and of course it is when your child goes to college and embarks on the journey to adulthood that you embark on new because Even if I have never been a parent, guardian or mentor in my young life, I know what it is like to be so mistreated by the world that I closed my mind and my heart so that nothing can ever hurt me. again, but when the day finally came that I had the courage to let go of my fear and let go of the coldness within me, the beautiful privilege of feeling again was magical in itself and now looking back on that journey of The four times I've moved in the last two years, I find the same calmness and genuine hope that many of us, including John Favreau himself, whose son started college immediately after the production of the second season, have projected directly onto the anonymous and silver guardian of the Mandalorian, because if I can believe in the possibility of change for someone like Din, who is to say that we can't all change for the better.
I guess within all of us there is that hero who is on that journey and searching for the connection with the father and with the father in general, the great father, you know, it's all part of why it works and why we care, It's not about x Wings, it's not about the things we decorate in Star Wars, it's important, it's part of its genius, but we react with soul. We don't just want an action movie, we want to feel uplifted and Star Wars is a feel-good adventure. What I like is that it really says that there is a lot of hope out there that fundamentally we want to be good. people who may all be driven to do terrible things but who can persevere through selfless actions with the cutting-edge tools and technology provided by 45-plus years of innovation from george lucas and beyond from favreau filoni and the team at The Mandalorian's galaxy-sized casting wove a myth that's as much a product of previous Jedi Jiki and Star Wars westerns as it is of the kind of storytelling the world needs to hear today.
Star Wars remains a global obsession and an inspiration for the storytellers of tomorrow. but it has also evolved greatly from what it once was, and despite that evolution, the myths our world gravitates toward most today are not always those set in a galaxy far, far away as they were for audiences of 1977. Today, many of us look to myths like Superheroes, men and women, are above the rest and are capable of tackling the enormous unsolvable problems that our globalized culture cannot always solve by itself. Some might be tired of superheroes or see their popularity as a detriment to the stories and myths they have introduced to the world. past, but as the person responsible for the biggest entry in the superhero genre, the inaugural film of the highest-grossing film franchise of all time, John Favreau knows a thing or two about the evolution of myth, myth is designed to the children who are to come.

The western was a great American genre. The superhero movie of its time. today's Western, but many Westerns also romanticized the emotionally damaged loner, glorified racism against Native Americans, featured only men in leadership roles, and cemented the gun as an immovable symbol of patriotic freedom, all ideas that leave an unmissable shadow.
