Nova is considered a prestigious assignment and Lindsay was one of the lucky few who managed to get a spot after landing in Tokyo.

Lindsay was eventually assigned to Kaiwa, a district in Tokyo's Edagawa district, and would quickly find solace and excitement in her surroundings located just 17 minutes from Akihabara and 22 minutes from Asakusa, there are plenty of sites, activities, and fun things. to do near Koiwa, whether you're there for food parks, temple shopping or just a nice drink. Tokyo has it all. She had found herself in one of the most interesting cities the world has to offer and she loved it. She decided to move a little further east of central Tokyo to a place called Chiba. The rent was cheaper here.

She also moved in with two other teachers. They both also worked at another. school and very quickly the three became friends and soon after Lindsay's time in Tokyo began to fly by, although she loved her time away from home, Lindsay often still thought about home, she had a loving family, a great group of friends and a boyfriend in England and that said, the local bird often kept in touch via Facebook, Skype, text messages and phone calls. Six months into a stay in Tokyo in March 2007, Lindsay had an awkward encounter: She had finished work for the day and traveled back to Chiba. station before picking up her bike while she was unlocking her bike, a man approached her from behind her when she turned around, the man greeted her saying "you're my English teacher." The offer was quite simple and innocent. Tatsuya asked Lindsay if she would be interested in giving him English lessons. He felt that she needed a little help with the language. They could meet at a cafe and she would pay him handsomely by the hour. Lindsay politely declined, her work schedule was busy enough and the time she had free was on her own terms, having fun. Tatsuya was disappointed, but he seemed to accept her answer, but it was here that she asked him one last strange question that she was thirsty for. Practically chasing Lindsay through the streets of Chiba, he asked her if she would politely give him a glass of water at her apartment.

Lindsay doubted her, but she reluctantly allowed him into her apartment, certain that he was a strange man and that he made her feel. uncomfortable but she had two roommates, this was a good opportunity to indirectly show the man that she had company at all times and it was a chance for her friends to see her

He just drew one of Lindsay and next to the sketch was her name and her phone number. Tatsuya Ichihashi was a 28-year-old man from the city of Ichikawa, also located in Chiba Prefecture. He was born in Gifu Prefecture on January 5, 1979 and initially grew up. There, before moving to Chiba, he was born into a successful family, his father was a doctor at a local hospital in Chiba, while his mother was also a professional dentist. In his youth, Tatsuya had ambitions to follow in his father's footsteps to become a doctor, but when he failed his exams and was denied the chance to further his studies, he settled for obtaining a degree from horticulture department.

She graduated from Chiba University in 2005 and although she passed her degree relatively well, Tatia made no effort to find work, instead living on an allowance of 100,000 yen or 920 a month from her parents and this is where we learn a little more about the dark half of tatsuya ichihashi tatsuya had no previous convictions with the law but had been the subject of a previous robbery and battery charge he had allegedly assaulted a woman on the street during a robbery, but the matter was resolved outside of the courts. He was also described as a loner with an obsession for fitness. Tatsuya regularly attended his local gym and often cycled more than 25 kilometers every day. days. They knew that Lindsay went to see a man at a coffee shop shortly before she disappeared and she had also left the sketch of her at her apartment. This was her first clue. It was around 5:40 p.m. m. when they sent two officers. to Tatsuya's house, but after knocking on his door no one answered, although her neighbors were home and kindly let the officers watch from the balcony and Tatsia's living room. There were no lights on on the property, but there appeared to be someone lurking. Inside and, interestingly, her removable bathtub had been moved from the bathroom to the balcony on a hunch.

The two officers called for backup. They were concerned that Lindsay might be inside being held hostage, and within the hour seven more officers arrived. Three hours and nine officers. Later and the police were preparing to raid Tatsuya's house, it was then in a surprise moment that Tatsuya opened the front door with a backpack on his feet, in that moment of panic, Tatsuya walked past the police, they tried to grab him but they only managed to get their Tatsuya's own backpack slipped, they also failed to keep up with Tatsuya, as the hallways of the building were so narrow and confusing that he managed to get through and as the police officers lacked radio equipment, they completely lost of sight to the man, so in the middle of Tatsuya in the city of Tokyo he disappeared into the night, it was as if the man had literally disappeared into thin air because Tatsuya was nowhere to be found.

Police officers investigating his property moments later would come across a gruesome scene where they had found Lindsey's naked body. street vendor found her buried in Tatsia's removable bathtub that he himself had moved to the balcony. This quickly became public knowledge and soon after evenRumors began to circulate suggesting that perhaps Tatsuya had killed Lindsay to use her hair as a wig the next morning. Ichihashi was officially a wanted man throughout Japan.

Police distributed wanted posters throughout the city. His face was shown on multiple news sites. Interviews were given to anyone who might have potential information and raids were witnessed at locations of possible sightings of the suspect, but despite all efforts. Like a ghost, Tatia was nowhere to be seen, almost no sightings of the man were reported over the next few weeks, in fact they all became dead ends, although the police were so keen to capture the suspects that they decided post photoshopped images of Tatsuya wearing wigs in case he was in disguise, but Tatsuya was good at blending in, in fact, he was so good at evading the police that his disappearance went from weeks to months to years and this frustrated the Lindsay's family because in addition to the relentless pain that they had to experience from the loss of their daughter was the feeling that her

The police and the peddlers' family would slowly begin to argue with each other and soon the British and Japanese media would also get involved and while all this was going on, Tatsuya was still there, he had actually traveled through most of Japan during his time in the escape, from Aomori, one of the northernmost cities on the main island of Japan, to the southern island of Okinawa.

Tatsuya had gone unnoticed, even living on a remote island in a concrete bunker at times to avoid detection also a year after Lindsay's death in 2008 and throughout 2009, Tatsuya found himself in Osaka, located 250 miles west. from Tokyo. Osaka is a large port city and commercial center of Honshu, it is known for its modern architecture and nightlife. and abundant street food, it was during this time that Tatsuya habitually lived in internet cafes and worked on construction sites to survive on the money he could save. He would undergo plastic surgery to change his appearance and avoid being caught by the law.

In the summer of 2009, the police were painfully desperate to find Tatsia. It was here that the national police agency increased the cash reward for information leading to his arrest from 1 million yen to 10 million yen. They also released a new statement reporting that Tatsuya was believed to have had plastic surgery performed on his face to alter his appearance and that people should be on the lookout for similarities in Tatsuya's special IDs and it worked because in October 2009 a plastic surgeon located in Nagoya reported to the police that he believed he had just worked at Tatsuya Tatsuya.

He would later receive two more arrest warrants for rape and murder and it would take him eight months to finally meet with his jury on July 4, 2011, his trial began and with the outcome fairly certain from the start, the deliberation would not last long, much attention focused on how Japan's judicial system works.

He would punish Tatsuya, although Japan applies the death penalty, not many one-man murderers consider that to be his destiny, but Tatsuya was a highly publicized man in the media and many voices supported the idea during his trial. Tatsu admitted that he attracted Lindsay. In her apartment he raped her and then strangled her because he was afraid the neighbors would hear her scream and call the police on July 21, 2011 Tatsuya Ichihashi was officially sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Lindsay Hawker and although Lindsay's family had asked The death penalty for Tatsuya The court found that the death penalty was not appropriate since he had no prior convictions and at the age of 32 there was still a chance that he could one day be rehabilitated.
