The iPhone 11 Pro Max is great

Feb 27, 2020
remind me in three minutes to make a point to our viewers, okay, I'll remind you at 5:13 p.m. m. I spent the last three weeks exclusively using the iPhone 11 Pro Max Apple Watch series 5 and second-generation Airpods to immerse myself in the ecosystem. as much as I could and was constantly frustrated by the clear and obvious problems that Apple has had to fix for years and just hasn't bothered with, however, for Android fans who are foaming at the mouth right now, about 10 minutes of hate speech about How Bad Is Apple? Guys, you can relax because there are a lot of good things here too along with some strange things, like what's so professional about a phone.

With this question in mind, our journey begins right after today's sponsor. Ruggable rugs are spill resistant. stain resistant and machine washable, they even stay in place with their non-slip pads use the code fun linus 15 to get 15 off your order and free shipping at the link below, so the setup process was awesome As usual, Apple finally removed the SIM card activation requirement from its new device and moved iOS 13's new dark mode front and center on the settings screen. Now some third party apps don't respect that setting but otherwise it's

great

and I never turned it off again and there are a lot of other smaller things that add up too things that you might not notice at first but when you do you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. him, like offline dictation, which I immediately enabled when I saw it and also enjoyed that Siri's voice responses sound more natural than ever, tell me. bad joke, I was so late to the cannibal banquet that they just turned their back on me, wow, that was a good one.

More Interesting Facts About,

Wi-Fi in the control center now gives you a list of nearby access points which makes all the sense in the world and what about the fact that you can attach a photo to a reminder? That's incredibly amazing. In fact, the new Reminders app in general just makes Android's handling of reminders look stupid. Unlike Android, you can set any ringtone you want, even a longer ringtone style, one that doesn't close. until you figure it out for things that, oh, I don't know, you might want to notice and be reminded that someone else notices the reminder from my Android phone, not me, nor is managing your tasks easy, with easy ways to check off. complete and delete completely and my only complaint about this is that reminders can be easily deleted with no way to restore them, so parents who lend their phones to their children will know why this could be a problem.

Another thing that's nice to have is that Apple now. It provides what seems like a much more accurate set of battery stats than the competition and even made battery replacement easier with convenient pull tabs that contributed to ifixit's repairability score of six, so good job Apple is what I'd say if they hadn't left. and they added drm to their batteries at the same time they said they consider them consumables, which is okay to repair for a reason, not a repair privilege, which I guess brings me to some of the low points of ios 13 for me compared to Older version apps constantly ask me about privacy and security permissions.

This used to be an Android problem, not an Apple one, and there are plenty of other little things they've had to fix for generations. Now I will complain about the lack of t9 dialing. on the iPhone until it's old and gray and the fact that your home screen always ends up looking like a relative's desktop, you just have everything there, why is everything there? Also, I still have to swipe from the bottom to the bottom. Unlocking the phone and the frosted glass back can make big hand movements like going down there and then back up here.
It's very dangerous, why don't they just use haptic touch to scroll through notifications and then a flick to unlock or vice versa too? Carplay is still bad even compared to Android's recent horrendous auto update. Navigate to the subway. Siri has a significant delay between activating and when it actually starts listening. Apple Maps requires manual input for most navigation and when I dared to leave the ecosystem with my Google Play Music. with the subscription it only played music about half the time and then never with the screen working so I could see what Drak was playing, although to be fair Google should probably take some of the blame here and in fact I guess It's kind of an aside, but I need to get this out of my system, both Apple and Google need to grow up and start treating users of another platform like what they are: they are paying customers.
I'm not the only one complaining about this Google Play Music issue on the iPhone and it's been months and this kiddie app is even moving to the Apple Watch where you still can't interact with a Gmail message. Seriously, your multi-billion dollar companies put their heads together and figure out how I can move around so much. of the email, since very well, please, then market in red if it is not important. I've said this before, but here it comes again. I am their customer and I am one of the many people who pay for their service but don't always use their operating system as for the Apple Watch itself, I really love the hardware, it finally has an always-on display which makes it the Apple's first smart bracelet that also works as a competent watch.
Wow, dictation is

great

, but with a big asterisk there's no way to do it. quick fixes, you have to press the digital crown to cancel and try again from scratch, so if what you're trying to say is some kind of jargon or full of acronyms, then good luck, honestly the thing is full of this kind of simple user experience problems. Siri can't figure out how to mute my notifications, so I have to do it manually. Hey Siri, Mute My Notifications to see your notifications slide down from the top of your Apple Watch face. Longer emails often cut off after the first paragraph, which completely misses the point of a smartwatch for me, and some apps have no way to click and then open the app on your phone, even if they give you the Full read and reply function.
I mean, how is this still acceptable to Apple? How is this still acceptable to Apple? users, why am I dictating this right now? It just feels like Apple is backwards in a lot of ways here and the only way that's a good thing is that the Apple Watch is actually the only place where 3D touch still exists today. Uh generation Apple device, 3D Touch was one of my favorite features that Apple introduced with the iPhone 6s, unfortunately it wasn't a 6s I guess, so they removed it. I had already said before that it was a hard press for Wi-Fi, no it's just a fake hard press, it's a long press that rings, so hour 10 didn't have it and now all the 11 pro series included left it fall and I'm really sad, I really wanted it to take off but instead we were left with haptic touch which is just a long press with a nice vibration, it's just a little slower but I still miss it, for what it's worth they made a good Using its removal, the 11 pro's battery is 0.65 millimeters thicker than before and only 0.4 millimeters. of that is because the phone is thicker, in reality maybe Apple has been listening to me all the time in an indirect way and what that culminates is in the worst case, more than six hours and 20 minutes for the Professional in Geekbench Forest Drums.
Life with the Pro Max is even better than that, and that brightness of half the screen is not bad at all, since for the rest there are a lot of adhesive seals, yes, but that is normal for a phone that is rated for Such an impressive level of ingress protection, to the point of being a bit excessive, four meters of water is deeper than most swimming pools, so it would be difficult to kill this phone with immersion alone, and if something were to die, it would practically Everything inside the phone is a detachable module, even the face ID sensor and selfie camera are separate from the screen in case you need to replace them one day, which you might because the screen on mine got scratched the first time I put it in my pocket with nothing else on the front and the back glass may have proven to be as shatter-resistant as Apple claims, but the hardness, at least in my experience, doesn't seem to have followed the same path, so I would recommend a case and a screen protector because, guys, you don't want to break it.
The silly thing about the super retina HDR photos and videos, which is a higher 20. brightness than even most high-end monitors and TVs and get this, the HDR display spec actually only requires 500 nits on true black screens like this AMOLED To put it in a mobile perspective, it's almost double what They are the iPhone 10s max and most of the competitors. Able to do so, it's great for showing off those next-gen smart HDR photos you can take with the three rear cameras. Did I mention it looks great from any angle? I love this, okay cameras, yes plural cameras, I'm starting a movement where Don't call these lenses anymore because that's not what they are.
It's like me jumping from my minivan onto my motorcycle and saying I'm changing my tires. The slow rates are irrelevant, I hope, but the front camera is a lot. better than previous generations and I totally agree with that, the standard camera app, although it still lacks pro shooting modes, even on the pro models it is still very simple, very usable and they have added a ton of features including a much more mature editing mode in photos. app and samsung hope you're taking notes, they added the ability to quickly capture videos while in photo capture mode. This is a very useful feature and I can't even begin to imagine through what complicated process Samsung managed to pioneer it. only to abandon it later and then let Apple take the lead.
I guess I'm glad to see it come back because once Apple does it, everyone will have to do it when taking pictures. Apple's new semantic rendering engine makes extensive use of the A13's bionic technology. Machine learning accelerator to quickly identify what is in the image and optimize it. It works in two parts. The first is similar to traditional HDR and is a buffer of underexposed frames that is used to reconstruct details in bright areas and then a single overexposed frame is taken. To reconstruct darker areas, the engine looks for things it recognizes, the sky is removed while hair is sharpened, and faces receive more subtle highlights and shadow processing from the previous step to retain a more striking realistic effect.
That's also how Apple handles it. to achieve its high light mono portrait effect lttstorm.com by the way, all of this has been further helped by a combination of optical image stabilization and software image stabilization which results in a ridiculously stable shot while taking pictures and, Obviously, it is especially notable. When shooting video the ultra wide angle camera doesn't go dark, but with that wide angle it's quite difficult to notice, just as it's difficult to notice any significant difference in image quality between the three cameras, they all look great, as we saw in our previous version. -iPhone 11 pro review, although not everything is perfect and compared to the pixel line results they can sometimes be below average in terms of clarity and color accuracy, but I don't think anyone will complain of the overall image quality here.
What I will complain about is that for all the good things about the cameras, the hype train made it seem like you could switch between them seamlessly and there is definitely a delay when you do that, I mean it's not a big deal like being able to do that. having a delay is better than not being able to do it at all, but hey, Apple didn't do its best to temper expectations during its demos and the zoom isn't as smooth as I'd hoped and I guess that's really what this all boils down to. expectations are so many things missing that would give the iPhone 11 Pro some pro cred like a high refresh rate screen USB Type C two-way wireless charging pro shooting modes a high-quality analog output or a reduced or eliminated notch, but if We step back from the telephoto lens and take a look at the ultra-wide image, it all comes together in a waywhich is still really positive, even if I think it costs more than it should and everyone should buy the non-pro iPhone 11, such a stupid name, stupid camera bump and decidedly next-gen screen notch, but it's the most iPhone experience premium and we are past the time when iOS versus Android was kind of black and white, this is a better decision and anyone who says otherwise is frankly a pathetic fanatic, to be clear, I have preferred Android for quite some time now and , at the time of filming this, I have already returned to enjoying the widely varied, albeit sometimes buggy, hardware ecosystem on the Android side, this time in the form of the Galaxy Fold review coming by the way, subscribe so that don't miss it, but I actually plan to continue using the Apple Watch if only to point out the deplorable state of Android smartwatches, so thanks for Watching guys, check out our videos on 10 Ways iOS is Better and 10 ways Android is better for more of my thoughts on the two ecosystems as a whole.
A huge thank you to our sponsor for today's video, dbrand, which was a no-brainer. Apple part of my real money for iPhones, although I bought the watch, seriously, a thousand Canadian rubles for this thing, it's almost as expensive as fancy stickers for your oh, shoot, uh, uh, uh, dbrand. The dbrand grip case has a great grip, so you'll never drop your phone again. They use military grade impact protection absorption technology. It is ultra-low profile with only two millimeters thick.
