Have you ever seen these stools from Dollar Tree and wondered what to do with them? We're staying because in today's video I'm going to show you how you can DIY these stools from Dollar Tree. Last year was probably the first year I noticed these

at Dollar Tree now at Dollar Tree they sell them in the Dollar Tree plus section for $5 if you don't have the Dollar Tree plus section in your store you can pick them up at a similar store like Five Below now I realized that I did show you guys, these plant stools lasted last year and that video went viral when I showed you all the plant stools, but I never did that many crafts with them.

I wanted a video where I could show you exactly how you could use them in your home the plant stools or

I'll probably call them stool and table in this video they come in a variety of colors so the colors I got were blue. I had a white, gray, and black, so for this first project I'm going to make a plant stool. Now I will use one of the black stools to make an ornament for this stool. I wanted to use one of my favorite products that is quicker to create a table base. Now I think the hardest part for this project was finding something I could use as a frame for my table.

I needed a round table that was larger than the stool, so you won't believe what I used. I used an oil container from Walmart and it ended up being the perfect size to create. on a table, so I'll use a quick box. You can get it at any big box store and mix the quick creation with water until you get a pudding-like consistency. Now I would recommend mixing the Quickrete in a separate container. I'm going to mix it up and then pour it into my pan. Once you've poured it in, you just need to shake it and tap it so it's nice and level and so there are no air bubbles in your fast food. box, continue adding it until you have the thickness you want on your table, once you are happy with it you will take your black table and place it on the quick build, let it dry for at least 24 hours the next day.

The day I came back and wanted to take it out of the mold I was seeing that it was completely dry around the edges so I started by taking the mold out around the edges and then I lifted the stool and it came off completely. It wasn't connected in any way, so I'll have to glue it back in, but it wasn't a big deal. After doing this I noticed there were some circles on the top where the pan was so I only used a little bit. of sandpaper to sand down any imperfections, now to fix my stool I put some E6000 on the top of the stool and then I will place it on the quick crafting table, I will let it dry overnight and this is a perfect support to place with a plant. top I wanted to see if there was a way to turn one of these plant stools into an ottoman.

I know it's a bit of a stretch and I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but let me explain how. I made this so I started with a plant stool and then I also bought a roll of foam from Walmart and then I'm going to need some fabric to wrap it so you can go to Joann's to pick up whatever type of fabric you want. I chose a brown Sherpa fabric just because it is very

y right now, Sherpa material and brown is a very popular color right now so the first thing I did was spread my foam because I thought I was going to wrap foam around the piece whole thing, so I measured it to where I would have the phone wrapping around the entire body of my stool and maybe going back about 2 or 3 in.

The next thing I did was measure a table, so the way I did this was just to turn my stool and

using

a Sharpie I simply marked where I wanted to cut it so it would be the correct size to fit on top of my stool. I marked where I needed to cut and cut the foam so I could wrap the foam by hot gluing it to the legs of my stool. Now I messed up a little because I hot glued the foam piece to the top of my stool and then realized I probably needed to cover it first before doing that. so I had to pick it up, but it wasn't there for long, so it wasn't a big deal.

Next I wanted to wrap the outer layer with the sherpa, so I did the same method. I made sure to cut the fabric. so I had about 2 inches extra on each side that way I could wrap it and hot glue it on both sides, the top and the bottom. Now where the fabric was attached, I folded it under and hot glued that edge if I could probably. go back and redo this. I probably wouldn't have put the foam on top of each other, it made it a little bulkier on that side, but I'm hoping that's the back of my hot glue project. the top around trying to make it as secure as possible if I saw an area that was coming up I just added more hot glue and then repeated the same steps hot gluing it around the bottom edge now with my foam circle I.

I also did the same method . I laid it out on a piece of fabric and measured about an inch and a half wider than the foam, cut my circle out and then turned it around and hot glued it to the foam and making sure it was as flat as possible on the front and then to attach it i simply added some hot glue to the top of the stool and placed it on top and here is my affordable ottoman if you made it this far in the video thank you. So much for looking at commenting on the word of the day which is Dollar Tree let me show you how to make a bench with these two stools so start by removing the plastic from the bottom of your stools there are also these little rubber pieces on the bottom. and I'm going to remove them because I want it to have a nice clean look, you can use any base color you want.

I wanted to use white because it matched my living room a little better. I need a board now, you may have to go to Lowe's or the store to get a board. I did a project in my office where I used Butcher Block to create a shelf and a desk and I had a bunch of leftover butcher blocks and I had this piece that was honestly the perfect size for this project, it was a little long so I just I marked where I wanted to cut it, making sure it fit the back of my couch and then

using

my miter saw I cut. on both sides to create the bond I needed, the next step I did was stain this with early American color and to stain this board I just used a paper towel to wipe the stain and then the paper towel also worked to remove any excess . stain I let this dry overnight you could add a sealer but I feel like Butcher Block really does a great job of absorbing stains so I didn't and then to put it in my living room I just put the two stools behind. my couch, then I'll put the Butcher Block board on top, adjust your stools so they're at the right angle for you and then you can finish it off with a blanket and some pillows if you like a vintage look, here's an option.

You can try using one of the white stools and you will remove all the plastic again. I'm going to remove those black feet at the bottom. Then you'll want to go to your local thrift store and find a tray you like. something that really catches your attention I found this silver tray. I thought it was adorable and the only criteria you need to have is that the tray needs to be wider than your stool for this project, but it's so easy to put this together, all you have to do. What you need to do is add a little bit of E6000 to the top of the tray and then place the tray on top, let it dry for 24 hours and then the next day you can design it at home.

It is an excellent side table. Now let's say there is a project you want to create with this stool but the base is bigger than what you want to put on it you will have to remove that top and that's what happened in the next project I wanted to do so I used my angle grinder to cut where the top meets the legs because it's only attached at those four corners and then on the last one I just pulled it out and it came off very easily but that took care of removing the top. If you have a piece of furniture with drawers, hold on to those drawers because they make some really cool vintage tables.

Also, I had this side table that I was going to replace with something else and it had this beautiful drawer in it, it looked very old, very old and I saved the drawer and that's what I'm going to use to put it as the top here, so what What you want to do with your drawer is just clean it, remove all the dust and then you'll just add. E6000 on the top of the legs and then place the drawer on top, let it dry completely and then you can design it with plants or you can place decorative elements in your house.

I love the vintage look of this piece, not only can you wear these. tables for so many different side tables, they also make great plant stools. If you have a white one, I would remove those rubber pieces from the bottom or you can always spray paint them white, but you can place them around your house, just add a few. of your favorite planters, let me show you how I make this planter myself. If your Dollar Tree has a Dollar Tree plus section, you've probably already seen these $5 planters, they're so big, they're thick, they'll be perfect. and I saw this one I picked up and thought it would be great for a DIY.

Another Dollar Tree item you'll need for this DIY is a trout. They have them in the spring section right now. You're also going to need some putty now, this is something you can get at Dollar Tree. I actually have it in a large tub from Lowe's. I think I use it for a lot of projects so it's easier for me to get it in a larger tub. What you are going to do is start by putting some putty on the back of your trout, then you are going to take your TR and press it against the side of your pot, pulling it down to create the shape of a petal, you are going to start on top and make a layer around it.

Now I did this on those natural lines that form in the shape of my planter. After going all the way around, I went down and made another layer between the petals I had created now, as I was in an area that was at a point where I couldn't make a full petal, so I had these smaller petals between my Bigger petals, but I like it. the way it looked every time or two you create a petal, you're going to need to apply more putty to the back of your knife to make them create a really consistent look now after I did the second layer that I went down to. my next layer and continued adding petals until I reached the bottom.

Now, when you get to the bottom, you may need to turn the pot over and add additional petals. Now you want to let this dry completely overnight when you're done. I returned the next day. I sanded it a little bit with some sandpaper along the edges that way, if it has any rough edges or anything that looks like joint compound, it will completely fix it with this sandpaper, it's really easy to do, do it lightly around the edges, now you can leave it natural. I decided I wanted to paint mine on the outside. I used a beige texture spray and then on the inside I just sprayed it with a light beige color.

I wasn't sure you'll be able to see this once I put a plant in, but I wanted to make sure I covered it just because you could see some of that putty on top, so once I had everything spray painted, I let it dry. and I designed it in my house with a plant I had from Ikea. These plant stools are great for outside too. I just had to show you this now, this stool video that I filmed a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm shopping at Dollar again. Tree and I just came across a stool topper that looks like wood, it's not actually wood but if you don't want to do all this DIY you can choose this one and this one is only $5 ok it's your turn to vote let me know know.
