The Forgotten Gravity Falls Theories

Mar 06, 2024
Being a fan of Gravity Falls while the show was airing was an absolutely unparalleled experience, watching fans in real time attempt to uncover the throbbing mystery of the city and how three mysterious journals, a universal portal and a dream demon, connect together. Yeah. Remember the

theories

that came true, but what's lost to time are the

theories

that didn't, from the absurd to the downright improbable here are the Gravity Falls theories that no one really remembers. I'm here with Trinity, a Gravity Falls fan who only really got into the show after it ended and who wasn't there to witness any of the crazy social media shenanigans between 2012 and 2016.
the forgotten gravity falls theories
So I'm going to read her theories. I prepared for us an encrypted file of Gravity Falls straight from season 2 episode 15 and we're going to rank them, I guess, on a scale of one to ten, dipper, the cool dipper, uh, dippy, cool, one out of ten, dippy, cool , wig, wig, what's up, friend, brothers, dippy, fresh, subway, tiffy, freshman, how many flip the our first trinity theory is a little strange bill cipher's secret twin brother im fine sorry listen sorry which is not okay so let's set the scene it's march 2015. okay,

gravity

falls

just saw its biggest plot twist, we learned that the portal to the universe led to stan's brother, the author of the diaries, and then there was a huge billion year wait until a two story story came out, it was four whole months, so Gravity Falls fans were just eager for answers, so eager for answers that they were asking their own questions to find answers For a few days after the episode dropped, eagle-eyed Gravity Falls fans noticed that actress Cecile Baldwin, my name is Cecil Baldwin, added Gravity Falls to her online resume in which she voiced a character named Kinda Oddly. , now we know that a little. strange turned out to be just some random guy in the stachurian candidate hello guys the name is tad and being normal is my game series creator alex cerse later revealed that cecil c school just updated his resume online almost immediately after from the recording session even though he was told not to. alex hirsch hosted a reddit ask me anything on april 2, 2015 in which he played the role of bill cipher when someone asked who was a bit strange kirsch as cipher responded that tad is a real square and that it is an objectively stupid shape and That started a fire, oh too. um I have some footage that you can see to bring up the first file, a lot of evidence here, the attention that you put into it, we just found out that Stan had a secret brother last week, so obviously, naturally, the show was going to work. the exact same plot twist again in a matter of days, the internet decided that a little strange was a purple square demon in a bowler hat, Bill's more evil brother, who had been pulling the strings the whole time.

More Interesting Facts About,

the forgotten gravity falls theories...

I have provided some images for you to see well below screenshots, okay, several things, there were hundreds, hundreds of people, oh my goodness, you decided Todd is strange, this is scary, these are real people, they really think these Things, well, they thought of them at the time, now I know who it is, oh yeah, how did they do it? go up, they just wanted shapes, they just wanted to make more shapes, yes, triangle, where is the circle?, where are the oblong shapes?, there are no dodecahedra, demon in

gravity

falls

, imagine being cecile baldwin, cecil baldwin and no knowing what was going on, what this fandom is like now, obviously. this theory was disproven when the stanchurian candidate aired six months after cecil baldwin's recording session and a bit strangely it was just a guy with three lines, oh luckily although due to all the slightly strange fuss there was enough time of production to give him a small cameo. the ending of raremageddon in response to its unexpected popularity coming out of nowhere, this experience will always leave a slightly strange scar, so that's all the evidence for the slightly strange theories, how many flip sauces would you give this one?
the forgotten gravity falls theories
God, okay, are we, are we, are we leaving? about how fake it is or how good it is like oh my God, I believe in that credibility, let's say plausibility, plausibility, I'm going to give it, I'm going to give it a lipstick and a quarter, I'm being very generous, just one. A different twist of creativity, there's like a random concert there, yeah, I'm not sure if you can hear this on our microphones here, but there's a concert there and people are screaming and the way it resonates it sounds like it's a ritual of cult the next robbie is a zombie robbie the emo punk teenager is sometimes surrounded by images of death and the newspaper says that zombies are sometimes mistaken for teenagers fake food no, you're actually kidding this is proof that you're dead , they took it seriously.
the forgotten gravity falls theories
The zombies are dead. Okay, this makes me laugh because how would Robbie hide the fact that he's a decomposing corpse? He is dripping and oozing everywhere. He says, "Oh, I'm sorry, Robbie, you smell like you died, take a shower, oh, I'm sorry." Just my new cologne is like I think the paper says they can be mistaken for teenagers at a glance, but since we've spent so much time with Robbie, I think we'd know if he was a zombie. I'm pretty sure it's very clear. I'm ready for flip dip dips on this one because I'm ready okay zero nothing at all none none no flip dip tips not even ten allowed ten flip it dip dips do you think robbie uses that flip to dip or flip and dip, flip to dip. and flip a dip or flip a dip or flip a dip or flip a dip or flip a dip or flip it dip it flip it dip dip dip dip before I forget I'd like to thank Confucian Hill for letting us film in front of their cipher bill statue in the middle of the night to clarify that this is not a sponsorship, but I think it was very nice of them because it is their private property and someone lives there.
Confusion Hill is a tourist trap outside of Piercy, California, that inspired the mystery. shack and has been the home of the statue since the cipher quest, if you are ever in the area be sure to visit it, it really feels like you are in the mystery shack and Grunkle Stan will be rounding the corner any second. these are not officially licensed these are fan art our next theory is mabel's secret clone the bam god knew about this one i told you about this time the other day the palette cleanser the opposite uh whatever advertiser and appetizer no, you warned me about this one but I don't think I'm ready for the evidence because you gave me a small sample, give me a sample, I'll give you a test, there are so many that your jaw will drop and you'll stop. laughing at this one yeah in some episodes mabel is the left hand dominant in other episodes mabel is the right hand dominant there are two mabels obviously that's the only option there are two you can look at the first two quite convincing, that is, look at these.
They are two different people and the gnomes fell in love with Mabel specifically, probably because she had deeper secret powers. I hope you have evidence of this, which was evidence in Mabel's Romance Guide, which is a little short film made by the Mabel she talks to. a cardboard cutout off screen I love you so much baby why don't you let me into your life? you know what you did zack she's wearing a different sweater yes yes this one you show yes yes this one you showed me this is the one she prefaced with and it made me mad hey take a break those grow on the trees here how dare they children to try to be creative?
This could have been filmed on a different day and that's the joke, is that her short has no production value or consistency because she's Mabel, she's kind of literally maple, that's not all and the crazy kid Mabel is at the foot of the stairs while Grenda and Candy run up, but when they reach the top she is already up there, how did she get there? that this is just a classic cartoon gag that's been around since the 1960s, but you don't realize that this is evidence of a clone, I think every time the Scooby-Doo characters passed like a door in a hallway and then they came out like a different door they were cloning themselves that's the only way it works gravity falls they had the key to discovering scooby-doo and we got him boos what does that mean? books i don't know what that would be scooby-doo's evil twin velma ammon a lot of people claimed that the bam would be the llama on the bill cipher wheel because the first time we see the little llama symbol mabel is holding it in the mirror, therefore, the other way around, mabel the bam is the flame, okay, but the real irrefutable proof here is that deep down mabel receives messages from a bottle of shrinking the first four that appear say mabel and the last two they say la bam i want to know the real meaning behind bam in this so alex search has said on multiple occasions la bam was just an animation error oh but that makes me laugh because how can you accidentally spell a word backwards Like you know it was animated overseas in South Korea?
So some people said like you know, maybe you know it's not their first language, but it's like when I was learning Spanish, I didn't spell their mottos backwards, I mean, maybe I can see if it was like on the other side and they had to flip it somehow, they didn't flip it horizontally, they just wrote the letters upside down. It doesn't make sense, I don't understand how that happens, I really don't know, it's an intern that just got fired right there, oh, I also don't understand how it wasn't fixed because you only have a limited budget to get it retaken, the longer it takes do something, the more expensive the repetition is, it's like you literally rewrite the word or even if they are drawn by hand, you just use the lasso and rearrange the letters.
I don't understand how that took more than five minutes more bottles on the way that still surprises me someone got fired that's all I don't think anyone has a problem I think that was evidence of the bam an alternative theory also said Wattles was the secret twin from Mabel from another dimension but I'm not going to spend more than a second on that because there was no evidence of any hitting, I mean, well, the soos turned into wiggles at one point, so I mean it could be something that this sister of the maple from the second dimension no one realized who we are. right here clickbait zeus is maybelline is the evil sister trans male icon for zeus with I had credibility I want to give this zero but honestly I'll give this a little more credit than a little weird so it'll be real quick.
I'm going to give this five fickle dips. This one isn't terrible. A secret society based on gold. It's okay, guys. Crazy Stan mentions that he is broth and meat for the apocalypse and then tells Robbie to bury his gold and that the apocalypse is coming. two episodes later in dreamscaperers bill tells gideon to buy gold too see if it makes you feel better the apocalypse is coming soon bury your gold reality is an illusion the universe is a hologram buy gold goodbye the repetition of this line convinced the fans that Bill would cause an apocalypse and gold would be the only thing capable of defeating him and they were half right in that sense, since Bill caused an apocalypse.
Stan's preparation for the apocalypse was meant to be just a simple joke in the episode, it's just a jab at the old man. paranoid man who heard conspiracies on am radio it is not clear if this was intended to foreshadow raremageddon or if they had even conceived raremageddon that at the beginning of the series I listened to a lot of am radio so I knew what this meant the plans to stay here and eat golden meat until we run out, Stan obviously had no idea about Bill or anything related to raremageddon at this point in the series, but after the line was repeated several times, it wasn't unreasonable to assume there was something significant that fans started. looking at the gold necklaces on select characters, seeing how multiple hidden secret codes hinted at a secret society and gravity falls before the introduction of the blind eye society, it was thought that a secret society with a gold necklace might be the answer. , Stan was thought to be a prominent member because a rope board and Dipper's guide to the unexplained show Dipper questioning his Stan's tattoo could be a symbol of the secret society even though this is just Random theorization of dipper in the background maybe meant to be a red herring fans were 100 convinced stan was a member of whatever secret society gravity falls was hiding some people also misheard i finally got them all in the season 1 finale since i finally we have them all finally we have them all we finally have them all and we assumed that this portal belonged to said secret society and was the key To defeating Bill now, why would Bill tell people to buy gold if that was his weakness?
What I'm seeing now, lookingI can't do animation, they copied and pasted it. No, no, actually I understood. I know the explanation. Here to explain that shot which is not an animation error at all, which was animated and drawn completely correctly. Wendy and Tambry are asymmetrical characters. Wendy is drawn so the hanging bangs are always on the left side of her head. Tambry is drawn so her purple stripe is always on the left side. However, the right side of his head, Robbie is a symmetrical character, he is drawn exactly the same whether he is facing left or right, if you take a shot of Robbie facing left and flip him over, it works as a shot from Robbie to the right and vice versa, so in the mirror they took Tambry's right view and flipped it horizontally they took Wendy's right view they flipped it horizontally they took Robbie's right view and flipped it horizontally so technically the geometry doesn't match, but that's because it's a cartoon and a lot of cartoon characters don't make a complete geometry sense, that makes a lot of sense, yeah, but the fact that they couldn't figure that out like the kids that were watching this show, I want say, okay, like you're 12 years old, they get the funny thing and they go back and watch everything. those videos is how limited these children's understanding of the world is during bill's introductory scene, it shows footage of john f kennedy and it shows footage of the moon landing when he says i know a lot of things, i know a lot of things and then one of The videos like this show John F Kennedy as who he is.
Why would they show us this? What does this mean for the program? And then in the moon landing, this foreshadows that they're going to go to space and it's like no, it's the assassination of the candidate and the hoax of the moon landing. It's like Bill knows things. but when you're a kid you don't have the outside perspective on those things and so you think you're just trying to put the pieces together but you just don't have the outside knowledge to I know that's not a theory or a harbinger of anything, it's just the moon landing, it's something I feel, brother, at 12 years old, I wouldn't have learned that either, so let's take a dip, the son of a, I feel like I can't be generous with that, ah, let's punish the children for having creativity.
Point five. Flip a dip. That's pretty low. Gideon is a demon, he is our next theory. Okay, during the time travel in Blenden's game, we see a sign of a cheerful sprout who just had a baby offer, but the word baby is crossed out and replaced with the word demon next to the cute telepathy badge . like a pentagram and it has an eye in the middle, so listen to me carefully, Gideon is actually a star shaped demon, just like Bill, it is shaped with an eye in the middle, I'm just looking for shapes like a triangle, okay , respectable, a square.
Okay, I can get over that, but star, come on dude, they were literally grabbing some ways to turn it into something you hate. I'm how many flippy dips. Someone saw this and took it seriously. I give it 0.25. I'm going to give him a bathroom. I'm going to give it a point two four because I'm the bad cop here, the five finger secret society, so we knew there was a secret society and before the blind eye was revealed, an alternative theory was that there is a secret society of people with five fingers, so you can see that some Gravity Falls characters had four fingers and some had five.
Alex Search said on social media that it was just an artistic choice based on what looked best. the character, but we don't trust old alex, he would be a sinful liar after mcgucket's deception, no one trusted him again, fans believed that the creators would not do anything without a real purpose behind it, but in the end it turns out that the purpose Behind this there was only one stylistic choice for each character and that was the end of the story that the fans always try to give as much credit to as the creators alex hirsch, what a genius man I love him, you know, too much credit, too much credit, they will throw it away. anything about them they don't care breaking bad fans are the worst they'll just look like a puddle in one episode and be like some guy five seasons later someone fell in a puddle bravo vince gilligan dips this twist i mean i guess I will give it It's a three two, I grant it to you.
I never liked this one. He was a bit of an intellectual child and he didn't believe in most of these. Well, I mean there were several. I mean there was a secret society. So I guess so. they didn't really know what was going on, they could have gone that route, but no Seuss knows about Stan's portal. Zeus is too dumb for that, wait, no wait, although this actually had real evidence and I'm not kidding, although don't believe me now, it's a boy called a wolf, but this one did it in an online flash game on the site disney.com website called rumbles revenge, there were a lot of hidden codes that could be cracked and almost all of them turned out to be something that really happened. in the show, read a code, the maintenance staff knows more than you think, so I doubt these Disney interns were writing this, you know, the Gravity Falls staff and writers wrote the codes.
I think that's especially evident since all the other codes in the game were actually developed in the dreamscaperers program. Bill tells the group you know I'm impressed with you, you're a lot smarter than you look, especially the fat one who is talking about you, this really begs the question of whether Seuss is tenuous. The witty nature was just a ruse and she was like to remove suspicion by saying that she was also Mabel in Dreamscaperers. Then he opens a door in Stan's mind and sees Stan entering the secret vending machine and about to say what's behind it and he just decides. that it's boring and he closes the door, maybe he finds it boring because he already knows, but then in a later episode Stan tells them that they know about that vending machine in the mysterious shack and then they know how to protect it with their life, no, no, this. it was like people theorized that in the first season, oh, and early in the second, because they don't really know what it was no, this was before, it's not what it seems, ah, this made sense, you know, obviously, Zeus is still being the naïve fool at the end of the show, which really makes me wonder if they had plans for him that just didn't work out because they accepted those hints, so maybe they're not writing what he looks like and are like ah, this episode works better if Seuss doesn't know to change the direction maybe they thought it was just a flash game, we don't have to adhere to everything we put in a flash game, I think it makes sense, I don't know, that's my, I'm introducing a new theory that they perhaps originally planned for Seuss to know and changed their mind later.
I feel like that's kind of plausible, like Soos could have known anything, but if we know that the blind eye society was present at any time, his memory could be erased that's true maybe he knew about the portal I feel like at some point moment I mean really honestly I feel like that's kind of a cop out for them though well the story didn't really make sense their memories were blind The eye haunted everyone in the city except our five main characters who had never been affected by it , yeah right, because they didn't erase the memory of Lazy Susan's blind eye, they just erased her memories of the gnomes, so I guess, in theory, everyone in town. know about the blind eye society, I feel like they would have known, yeah, how did they keep it a secret considering they spray painted their logo all over the city, yeah, and this guy, I don't know if he was out of the house, but Yeah? like, oh, like tattoos all over his skull and stuff, I feel like it's a little hard to hide for years, for seven or eight years, I always had the impression that there was one more hidden code in a book that didn't come to fruition term. um, in deborah mabel's guide to mystery and non-stop fun, which is a book that was published around the blind-eyed society and had a bunch of codes for the second season, all of which were developed, there was a code that said gnomes have clear vision. of the northwest mansion and for years I assumed this was like an abandoned plot, something they had ideas for that never panned out.
A couple of days ago I found out that it was relevant to the 3ds game, so they were giving a hint for that game. so for seven years what I thought was just a

forgotten

seed actually bore fruit somewhere and I had no idea it had been in my head for years so seriously knowing about Stan's portal how many times I feel, yeah , I can, I think. You convinced me more because at first I thought Zeus is just stupid, no, but he honestly he was there for so long that he probably knew something at some point.
I'll give you five. I'm giving this a 10 because They literally put real codes in the game that said the maintenance staff knows more than you think. This is something I just need to search on the internet for this. I like it. I remember this was something in the past that I couldn't find. evidence of it anywhere on the internet, but I remember there was a supposedly fake leaked image of some super manly Beards holding Dipper in his arms and I was like a kid, I thought it looked real and I thought it was like the real thing. leak something like the fake mcgucket and obviously a fan just did it i can't find it i like it i want to see this photo again i haven't seen it in like 10 years next theory bill and dipper are from space so there were often images of the starfield Bill masked when he showed up, therefore he's from space, he has all the powers of space, you know, meanwhile Stan's portal seems to lead to space, the logical conclusion here is that I'm quoting a video directly, Stan will use the unimaginable power of the portal. to gain more power than Bill Cipher, finally having a duel with Bill in season two, are you surprised?
This is the most likely thing that will happen. It makes more sense. Dont have much sense. No? I think the fans thought that. Stan had much bigger plans with that portal, but he literally just wanted his brother back. Stan barely knew what he was, yeah, he really didn't know that he was really like the most oblivious character on the show, which is interesting because he knew a lot more than he was letting on, yeah, but he still didn't know much, yeah, he really didn't know. because Ford didn't tell him anything so he didn't even know Bill was a thing like he never met Bill until the end he didn't I don't think he knew Bill existed we'll actually talk about that yeah yeah like if you didn't know, you didn't know that Dipper's birthmark was a constellation, it's the Big Dipper on his forehead treated as just one. -joke in double dipper to explain his nickname inspired by alex hirsch having a classmate whose forehead acne looked like a constellation according to him, shown prominently in dipper and mabel versus the future when i watched it in the episode A couple of days ago I realized that I had been wrong for seven years, I thought the computer screen that was being taken to Ford showed the Big Dipper because I guess I just forgot what the Big Dipper looked like when the episode came out, so I thought the computer was moving towards the Big Dipper and then the Big Dipper had the Big Dipper, so I thought this was real, I thought this was going to be important, I thought Dipper was going to be, I thought his birthmark It was going to be important to the story and when the ending happened and nothing happened.
I was like they left her birthmark as a loose end but I don't think it was a loose end, I think it was just a birthmark as a joke and they had to keep showing it every time they lifted her hair up, I can't understand it. about these clickbait videos, these fan videos, you're in shock. I saw hundreds of these. How would you classify Bill and Dipper? They are from space and Stan will use the portal to gain power and fight Bill. Are you in shock? It is very likely what will happen. It makes more sense, I memorized it, I mean Bill is from space, technically he's from a different dimension, he's from what you would consider space, but not at all, um, I give him that, um, maybe Stan Newmore, but he I'll give one because maybe Stan knew more than us, he was leading, but I don't think so, for the sake of confidence if you're surprised, it's most likely what will happen.
It makes more sense. I give this a total of 10. What we determine is a wax figure, so in Headhunters Toby has a hole in his shoe exactly like the wax figures, yes this was just a narrative invention to make him Toby functions as a red herring before the wax figure is revealed, like, how again, how would you like it now? look if he was made of wax we're actually dead naming him he's actually weddingocious tea now weddingocious t excuse me sorry don't call me toby anymore call me weddingocious t no one will call you that so zero oh yeah no this isn't even a theory, not even a close theory 15. burger king foot lettuce this is the secret society based on owls so many secret societies they couldn't pick one so a random block of text in the guideof the inexplicable of the saucepan mentioned above short said the following: all secret societies worship a hyper-intelligent owl named dwayne, the roosevelt enforcer, most meetings consist of saying the secret oath, dressing in robes, hooting, sticking owl feathers on each other to the skin and devour the gopher hole in honor of their beloved owl overlord, but not all secret societies worship owls, some of them worship western owls also other owl related jokes, in addition to the owls, the owls, the owls, the owls, even though this is just a general reference to the secret society's general affiliation with the owls and despite the fact that the blind eye society was literally mentioned in the same block of text.
The main fan takeaway here was that the secret society in Gravity Falls would be based on owls, obviously Stan was a key member of the secret society and the goal was to defeat Bill, which is probably where the owls were going. to be the key to defeating bill pretty good too rock solid I'll give this zero I appreciate the sentiment for them but I'll give this zero too attached dips okay next theory Stan and McGucket have a secret connection. means that maybe in the poster for the second season of Gravity Falls, Stan's hat and McGucket's hat appear on the ground according to a fan video, the connection is confirmed in capital letters, the presence of the members of Blind Eye on the same poster he also confirms that McGucket and Stan belong to that one. society stan's hat and mcgucket's hat just being on the ground without them also confirms that they will disappear in season two this is basic visual symbolism 101 trinity and they think it's ridiculous do you know what this means?
It is confirmed that Grunkle Stan and McGucket have some connection between them. Did Steven even know that McGucket had worked for his brother? No, he would never have known because McGucket lost his mind at that moment. Well, and besides, Stan and Ford hadn't said yes. They saw each other. for like an hour I'll give him a zero, let's be brutal today, well it's 10 because yes, it's confirmed that they know each other, but other than that zero, this one came exclusively from me. my theory when I was a kid during is not what it seems, mcgucket runs away and says that when that machine activates i have to leave town, canonically, during that time he enters the bunker because we had old mcgucket's conspiracy corner shorts that i think was broadcast as advertising or was came online and then Alex Hirsch also confirmed on Twitter that he went into the bunker during that time, so I thought that was going to factor into the show.
I assumed he appeared in a crowd as if by accident on Stan Shurian's candidate. I can't find the tweet I remember Alex replying to someone and he said oh my god you went out for snacks that's basically his explanation you know who else is in the bunker where McGucket went the shapeshifter McGucket wouldn't know was there . okay, also in diary three it is stated that Ford and McGucket sealed the shapeshifter there themselves, but that doesn't line up with the actual continuity presented in the show because when Ford was in the bunker he was paranoid as hell, he was stockpiling emergencies . supplies for 30 years and the shapeshifter knew he was paranoid because he said that six-figure nerd hadn't been himself in 30 years.
Four didn't become paranoid until after mcgucket went through the portal, so mcgucket couldn't have been there to seal the shapeshifter there because he was already gone before ford became deeply paranoid and crazy, so anyway the diary is completely wrong about this, so within the context of the show, McGucket can't logically know the shapeshifters trapped there, so at the end of the last Mabel Corn Bill says he needs a puppet outside the shack. I don't know why he waited until the sixth, the last episode of the show, to think that he had other things on his mind.
I guess Dipper is the only person he thought of. possess in all 42 episodes before he said, oh hey, other people exist, so bill needs a puppet outside the shack. I thought the mcgucket was going to fall there. There will be an episode where we accidentally freeze the shapeshifter and then like bill possesses the shapeshifter. because he can literally be everyone and that would come full circle, trusting no one like Ford's paranoia would pay off and I can see why they didn't do that because the whole central message of the show was that no one makes mistakes.
If Bill had possessed the shapeshifter in the final stretch of the show, it would be a little difficult to have that message because it would be blatantly false, like you can't trust anyone on that, so that's probably why they didn't do it. do it or they just didn't have the idea anyway that's what I thought was going to happen banger 20 out of 10 flip it dip dips whoever came up with this is a genius it's really good really good I'd give it like a 7 out of 10 , but I don't think mcgucket would have gone into the bunker either, but I don't see why no one didn't go into the bunker like that, that was food for 30 years and no one went down there, the gnomes were hungry throughout the show they could have gone down there like when I was a little kid my theories were so much better than everyone else's I was so smart I I new theory Mabel will be erased from the timeline in the back to the future movie Marty meets the doctor at the twin pines mall then travels to the year 1955 and runs over a pine tree knocking it down when he returns to the present 1985 at the end of the movie he is in the lone pine shopping center mabel and dipper's last names are pine trees dipper has a lone pine tree in his hat, i see, uh, i don't see evidence here, well, i see alex surf is so smart that he foreshadowed the gravity falls and back to the future plot from 1985, the year he was born, as planned in advance bravo vince bravo alex no, not bad, pretty good, How is it possible that they have removed it from something?
Well it would happen eventually, they had two seasons. Well, we didn't know it was only going to be two seasons at the time. Look, we had no idea how. As much as the show was going to be two seasons, honestly, this is a war crime, it made me sad, but I think it's good that it was short and sweet, yeah, honestly, because if it had gone to season three, we would have had more episodes like Roadside Attraction. oh god, okay, can we talk about that real quick? You know, what's sick is that on the Redwood Highway here we pass by all the roadside attractions that the Gravity Falls riders drove to between seasons one and two that then retroactively inspired the roadside attraction, so it's like there's Paul Bunyan showing up on the mysterious mountain, oh there they are, you know, the gravity houses here that inspired the upside down house, so we've been watching the full inspiration for the worst episode of the show here same.
It's been great, yeah luckily we live on the west side of the country, who's stalking us? How many flips are we doing? Mabel will be erased from the timeline. Is this even a question? Can we give this a negative number? Yes I'll do. Give this two negatives, two negatives, yeah, not very good. This was firmly believed in for a long time. Bill and Stan have history. Okay, I actually feel like they could have added something there, but no fan thought Bill and Stan had one. hidden story due to encrypted images of Bill throughout the mysterious cabin and Bill's reaction when he hears Stanford Pines call his name Gideon hinting at a deeper familiarity.
Wait, Stan Pines, you know what kid? You convinced me in Carpet Diem, an episode that had a lot of foreshadowing and clues he randomly stands outside at night when he gets hit with a golf ball, we just hear a meal like why am I out here at hours? ah why night, I'm even out here at night so maybe Bill was controlling him and making him walk outside. At night, that's why Stan was so oblivious to the paranormal in the first season. It's because Bill was taking over his body. Do you think sharp would be attractive if Bill took it over?
We eventually learned that Bill's connection to Stanford was with Stanford Pines. Don't know. I think it clicked, I think the reveal was supposed to be oh that's who Bill has history with, but fans were still hoping that Stanley and Bill would have this connection with each other until the end of the show because I don't think it processed the subversion there. um and I guess in the end Stan ended up defeating Bill which finally satisfied the fans, although I don't know if that was intentional foreshadowing from the beginning, I don't think it really was, I think we just accidentally thought it was. foreshadowed also you know what a fucking plot hole is what the second season establishes that Bill can't get into someone's mind unless they make a deal you know the rules Bill you might be able to chase my dreams but you can't get into me mind unless he shakes your hand and let you in, but Bill literally entered Stan's mind in Dreamscapers because Gideon just told him to, so it's like Bill couldn't have gotten one of his manic Hinch's to tell him to enter in Ford's mind according to the program's own logic. in the sock opera, the handshake was to take over dibber's body to keep out of his mind, so they were changing the rules for bill as the show went on, creating plot holes around him, man, sorry that they didn't know they were going to do that in In the end he only showed up like three times a season to keep him, you know, a threat because if he was defeated all the time that would make him pathetic, but the unintended consequence of that is that it's like there would be one hundred billion. zillion things he could have done to break raremageddon breaking the riff he just didn't do any of them like he didn't he could have made a deal with the shapeshifter while he was in the bunker his goal is for Stan to activate the portal but in the sock opera is like Dipper, you've been getting too close to finding real answers and then he tries to burn the journal so Dipper doesn't find out about the portal, but wouldn't you like Dipper to find out about the portal? portal why didn't he help Stanley build the portal during those 30 years?
Like he could have told Stanley where the other magazines are because Gideon and Dipper didn't find theirs until much later. The other two were just buried in a forest for 28 30. I guess years and Stanley never looked for them or anything, but Vapor found him by accident on the first day. Bill could have shown up in Stanley's dreams and been like "Yo Stanley, I'll help you find your brother, I'll help you find the diaries." because he was trying to be nice and friendly to fool Ford, but then he wouldn't try to be nice to anyone else, like when he only talks to Dipper and Mabel, he's like, yeah, I'm a villain, whatever that may be. eaten, it made Nick not try to pretend to be the good guy to open the portal, you know, but it wasn't the point that Bill wasn't introduced until Gideon took him there, so how could he appear in dreams?
Gideon summons him. dreamscapers and maybe you know, I guess the explanation is that oh he's back in gravity falls for the first time oh oh gravity falls it's good to be back but why did he leave because he was talking to Stanford 30 years ago perfectly fine appearing in his dream as his muse or whatever Stanford passes through the portal, how did that sever Bill's connection to gravity falls? Bill is a chaotic genius, but his story doesn't really make sense, since they perfectly adapted the story to support Dipper, Mabel, Stan, Wendy, and Soos. His emotions, uh, didn't really work to make Bill a consistent or logical character, so I'd give this a couple of drops, maybe one or two, yeah, I'll give it three, next one.
Gideon is Bill Cipher. Gideon and Bill get angry when they don't get what they want they are both defeated because they have weaknesses they are both evil the writers of Gravity Falls wouldn't write two characters with similar traits without a greater purpose Does Gideon become Bill later in the timeline Bill it's literally like a thing that's a triangle that gediyon just got in a triangle shaped card press like it was squashed and then it was like me I'm yellow now bill is the universe like he helped create like him he's not a human isn't like maybe he used to be, can you prove he didn't used to be okay?
He has been alive since the beginning of time. Okay, there's time travel. What do you mean they gave him similar traits? Stanford and Stanley have similar traits. I think I'm just going to rip off the band aid I'm afraid this one has negative five yeah it's just not very good yeah no I'm going with it Gideon's mom is carla mccorkle in guys crazy Stan tells a story about a woman he loved in the '70s only for a hippie to steal it from Mabel Bud's rocking hand, she says happily in an infomercial Carla, I've always loved you, but I've never had the ghost to say it as she walks byquickly, yes, the theory.
He pauses and says that the most cheerful one is Carla, but he's the hippie who stole Carla McCorkle from Stan, then they both completely and fundamentally changed an appearance established in Gravity Falls and then Bud told his own wife for the first time that loved her through a 10 year old commercial. after they had their child, there is a pause on the theory that Miss Gleeful has gone crazy due to the mystery of the town and she would be important to the overall narrative. However, believing this theory requires completely missing the joke because she is simply traumatized by Gideon. is his son, that's the point of his character, one bone I'll throw is that a jar of Miss Gleeful's memories shows up at the blind eye society, meaning Bud erased his own wife's memories at some point.
Yes, this has no balance. at all, but I don't have words for this because it really is grasping at straws, literally, the scenes in which the cheerful lady is shown, she is like traumatized, like you said, like I was very mean to her, yeah, keep going vacuuming, keep vacuuming, I think that's your only line, yeah, that's really cute, like what I feel, they're just holding on to try to find a semblance of something, something and this little curl, you always get I've loved, but never had, that goes so far as to say, I'm sure it was just a joke.
Like they just used the name Carla twice, yeah, like know, you know, or maybe it was one of the director's wives or something, one of the director's wives had a multiple of zero out of ten, I never believed it, I told him I'll give three out of ten for creativity, yes they are quite creative with this and I'm not going to take away from the creative aspect, it's just that they should be ashamed of the fact that they used to be younger than they are currently. Stan will die. Gravity Falls fans believe that. There were several elements that foreshadowed Stan's death.
Almost all replicas of him are destroyed in some way. The wax figure of him is murdered. A table of standards is broken. We get a long shot of his sock puppet on fire. the earth before the pigs the geyser throws everyone into the church and stan lands in a coffin and dipper and mabel against the future there is a skull in a box with an arrow in the bottom pointing towards stan the theory stops all of these are very intentional elements that foreshadow Stan's final fate. I think this is the most reasonable theory of all. I really believe it because he looks at this, I know, yeah, no.
He was looking through a box with an arrow pointing directly at Stan. It's like he's in a coffin. okay, yeah, like I landed in a coffin, yeah, okay, I can see that these are communities, I mean, they seem like an omen to me, honestly, I agree, but also, honestly, I thought Stan was going to die or Stanford was going to die or something, I thought that was main. The character was going to die somehow, but they didn't end up doing it that way, but I guess it could be like it happened because he lost his memory but then he got them back like yeah, three minutes of screen time later, yeah, right, he honestly liked it.
I'm giving this one a 10 because, oh yeah, those are absolutely things you'd use in a narrative to foreshadow someone's fate they were landing on. in a coffin all on fire the skull in the box I also think part of the thing is that they don't like standard supports something like that guy anything about him his appearance is going to burn just intimidate Stan no bill Sorry, the journal fell on a rock like a second before and I picked it up and it was sticky, so I don't know what's on the rocks here, no I don't even know, anyway, Gideon is a vampire in Taurus. trapped mabel says she would like to date a vampire next and then her next street date is with gideon in episode 4. he is pale, his hair is white which means he is old, you know who else are vampires Old men, this is the dumbest vampire. a little TV show they watched in the bunker, so um, yeah, no, he, you know what else is old? he wears a wig or something you have to be 10 years old wearing this big Victorian wig he looks like a founding father zero zero actually I'm going to give him a point one one three point one for creativity do you agree that there was something we were connecting there but not today, the cipher wheel is how we are going to end well, so at the end of the show's theme song, a mysterious wheel would always flash to a cipher box surrounded by a ring of cymbals, so what is it really ?
What happened is that Alex Hurst and the team simply collected some random art assets and put them together in a way that seemed vaguely mysterious. There were no plans for the wheel to factor into the story, however, fans began to speculate that each symbol on the wheel corresponded to a specific character, which is fair because seven of them clearly did, but there was also a bag of ice, a couple of glasses and a llama from one of Mabel's sweaters, maybe the ice represented Windy because she had a cool personality and Dipper was getting ice for both of them. times the bag appeared maybe it was mixed up because dipper ran into it while carrying ice and the time travel maybe it was cold or something the glasses were probably Stan's secret brother because he used them in the travelers flashback in the pig time and uh, stan lee like cradled them, mabel held up a llama sweater in the mirror, so it was probably a mirror for mabel the pacifica or the bam and all of these were so flimsy and pointless and just grasping at straws There was no theory about the banknote cipher wheel that I have ever known.
I believed it because I thought everyone was stupid, so the Gravity Falls team still didn't know what it was for a long time and the Stanturian candidate, Gideon, uses the wheel to summon Bill, which is really at odds with what is supposed which is, which is uh. as introduced in the third part of raremageddon, his old weakness that Ford apparently found in a cave, so even though Ford's glasses were literally on the steering wheel, Ford has to be the six-fingered hand and then they say that the glasses just have to be someone. erudite and gets to be mcgucket pacifica who wears that random llama jacket only episode three post credit tag and then stands on the wheel Ford says the ice pack is just someone great under pressure and Wendy gets to give one step forward, it was completely complete without any logic and at the time I thought this is actually what they were going to do, but looking back on it, I'm so happy they did it because it was like the embodiment of gravity. theorizing, so it's like the final mystery of the show was solved by random nonsense that kids on YouTube came up with and it's like the ultimate nod to the random guesses that happened in the many years leading up to the show, honestly, That was always what I liked the most.
Theorizing about it in my head I never liked doing the youtube or tumblr videos or anything like that but just thinking about what you know at the end of every episode that came on and I always thought there would have to be more if I ever went on hiatus and Al See it, there has to be more to it, what I appreciate is that the fans of the show basically made up the answer to their final mystery themselves, the bill cipher wheel, that's so sweet, you know, I like it, that was the last thing. way to end this and that was the best way to end this youtube video oh yeah yeah quickly the last episode was one of the best I've ever seen on a tv show like the two seasons they gave us were probably some of the The best thing is that it's really good, man, it's really good, it's a masterpiece, yeah, compared to the average show runners, Alex Hirsch had no experience, they just threw him into it and it turned out so fucking good, so good, ten years since the show came out, there is still such. a massive fandom, there's still just as we were getting ready during the night, there's probably five different cars that drove by to see this statue and, oh yeah, and a kid I don't know, someone, someone, someone, literally, He just thought and just said.
This show means a lot to me and I'm happy to be able to go see Bill Cipher in real life. He and he and a bunch of people signed his ads on Twitter and it just said, if you're here, send me a photo and I'll think. that's so sweet and all these people did it it's just lightning and a bottle show dude I love Gravity Falls Bill I'm going to give you one last chance if you want to say anything it's anything you want us to say to the internet in general just let us know know, man, that sounded like Bill.
There are countless mysteries in the Pacific Northwest. At least nine. The question of whether Bill Cipher is real or just a fictional character created by Alex Hirsch and Disney for the show. Gravity Falls. remain unsolved I've wanted to do an unsolved homage on Buzzfeed for a long time in high school, my friend and I were going to do a paranormal investigation in our high school auditorium and we were going to call it spooky, spooky, ghost time without solve, okay? We interviewed our drama teacher, who said she saw a ghost. We interviewed a pathological liar addicted to crack who said as if a demon threw a Bible at him.
I believe him just as we were getting up and expanding our research. The whole world shut down. Know? What I think happened, the ghosts caused covid because we were going to be on them, we were going to expose them, man, on the final episode of Buzzfeed Unsolved, I commented I can finally cancel my subscription to Buzzfeed, then the comment just disappeared like Someone would have deleted it and you know what? I think it happened that the ghosts took him away from you.
