Apr 09, 2024
On September 15, 2014, Notch sold Minecraft for $2.5 billion, but 5 years earlier his life was completely different. Notch's journey begins on June 1, 1979 in Stockholm, Sweden. He started coding at the age of 8, when the code he was writing was pretty basic. but he later focused on game design, most of the games he created and worked on had little to no success until he created the game we all know and love Minecraft Minecraft was in development for two short months until the game was released unofficially, but correct. After the unofficial release of the game, it already started to attract people's attention, but the game was very bland and basic, so I didn't decide to add a couple of updates to spice it up.

Normally when I make these videos I talk about the challenges and ups and downs at the beginning, but in this case there really aren't any, Minecraft was an instant hit and a year after going public it sold 1 million copies. Fast forward Minecraft had sold 4 million copies and he didn't decide it was time to release the game, so he did. No Notch is going to wait, wait, wait, where are you going? Notch will officially launch Minecraft. It's safe to say that this event caused quite a stir because while Notch was moving that lever, 2,000 people were logging into Minecraft per second.
