Jun 09, 2021
welcome back I'm tedward and in collaboration with the bond group in waltham massachusetts we are driving the most beautiful car in the world and enzo ferrari's opinion at least this is the

1971

jaguar

e-type I'm going to say

jaguar

because every time I say jaguar you get mad at me for pronouncing it wrong, but yeah, the jaguar e-type, this is the

coupe

and it's a series three, so when enzo said it was the most beautiful car in the world, he was referring to the series one. car, although it didn't change much, this shape is amazing and in the series three design it only comes in a v12, the series one and series two had straight six cylinders, so it has a unique sound.

The quickest way to identify a 3e series type is with These monstrous quad exhausts are not subtle. The Chicken Coop is very dear to my

hear

t because one of my favorite movies was Harold and Mod when I was a kid, so Harold turned this into a

hear

se in that movie and it's so iconically charming, although I appreciate this kind of deep maroon apple red color instead of black because you can see the color change a lot even under direct sunlight. When the E-Type was launched, it was famous not only for its beautiful appearance but also for its technology.

More Interesting Facts About,

It had an independent front. and rear suspensions, four-wheel disc brakes, you can see the front disc brakes through these beautiful center-lock wire wheels, but in the rear they are on boards, so those brake rotors are hidden just next to the differential, the rear suspension is quite strange because it actually has two springs and two shock absorbers back here, while the front has shock absorbers and torsion bars. Now there were no short wheelbase series three cars, so it was all two plus two and you're thinking, well, hey Tom, where are those back seats? Let me. I'm showing you because this is really cool, you can get more luggage space by folding it forward if you want two plus two mode, there you go, excuse me, and to open the back hatch of the barn door you use that little guy over there, this is actually It's kind of a pain to get in I have to find the way there we go made for nimble little fingers that's safe you can tell it was a luxury vehicle sorry for my crazy hair in the shade but everything is covered they wanted to make sure inside the cabin you weren't seeing any, you know, any ugliness, they just wanted it to look beautiful and of course it comes with a spare, just take this guy out and we'll have access to our spare tire, this would be some kind of nightmare . because it's the central lock and our fuel filter and you also have access to all the fuel lines, what a coup, but what you really want to see is what's under this hood and it's a cool hood, for sure, open the hood that we throw away this on both sides and then just move forward and all of this will be available to you, so it actually wouldn't be too terrible to work on, although I'm sure because it's a jaguar there are a lot of mechanics that would trigger PTSD with just the side of this thing, but it honestly works like a top, this sounds absolutely amazing, so let's jump in and give it a spin.

This particular version is an automatic gearbox and it has this delicate little lever, but let's turn it around, it definitely wants to get up and go against those brakes, but my goodness, the steering has power steering like the series three cars and it's so light it's luxurious, that's the best way to describe it. I imagine people were probably used to some cars with fairly harsh steering. In the past, coming into this and having some really nice light steering must have been a pleasure. It will be very smooth going through here despite the 70's automatic transmission we have here.

Pretty impressive throttle response and that's not top acceleration. I'm not going crazy because I'm not in a position to come and test

drive

this old Jag, but it's sporty, it corners and that's really the beauty of a big displacement v12. It's not necessarily like reeling your red line, it's just that you can just float it. Along with very low torque, I mean you don't

need

to downshift to get this car out of its own way. Look at this thing ready, it's got four overhead carburetors, so you know there's a lot of adjustability to make sure it breathes right.
It really feels like you are driving on a cloud. This is so luxurious. I also love the cockpit because there is tons and tons of visibility from this thing, although I don't have a passenger side mirror which could be useful on this

drive

r's side and this one. The guy is doing very well for me. I have to say that I have a lot of confidence in these brakes. This is easy to drive. Sometimes you get into older cars and the brakes can date it. I mean, sure maybe a transmission dates back to a car, but. You don't want the brakes to date a car because that can be very scary, here we go, she definitely has torque, first gear is quite long so, unless you really dig your foot in, she won't go too hard, there's no replacement for displacement.
I have to say, there is something really special about looking over this huge hood with the louvers. It looks so cool. The beauty of British cars in this era is that they were built and used in England, which means they were built and used. on pretty bad roads and there's something very special about driving this car nowadays on nice roads because even on nice roads there are potholes and stuff, but yeah, it's a sports car, it doesn't hit you, it's actually very relaxing to drive. I'm not concerned about the well-being of the car other than just mechanical things.
Oh, I love the roar of this idol. All the cars just vibrate with me like a fat old core, but my God, I know I have something much cooler. It's getting a little warm under the bonnet here, but I'm grateful the windows are down because you know a British car with more electronics is never something you

need

. I'm keeping an eye on the water temperature just because they have a reputation, but I think we're doing well, it's holding up well, this is the nicest day of the year so far. I love watching old racing with raggedy guys, they look so awesome going around the corner, that's so cool we haven't done that.
I just have to take the bump line but we have to take the photo line because we can't get it wet. I'm still going to take pictures of this thing. If we hit a puddle, I'll add a lot more work. my job is that a c63 in front of me that looks like a Thibodeaux car is a mass, let's see what happens with this, I think we found a friend, oh this looked good, eh, yeah, I'm going to turn around here, just follow me, so lucky you. of us have mass cars that showed up randomly but yes this one is going up for auction so we will go ahead and get all the necessary photos of the car.
You know, it's funny because I usually hate shooting. convertibles because you have to film everything twice, once with the top up and once with the top down with this car I basically have to film everything twice because I have to do it in this configuration and then with everything closed just because this looks so cool , how cool is this, oh my god, and look at this from the back, how crazy is this shot. It looks so cool, it's probably going to be a terrible shot, but I don't even care, it looks amazing, it's hard to take. a bad photo of this car, what do you think?
Oh yes, I know this is a pretty beautiful car, it really doesn't have any bad angles, no, ladies and gentlemen, that's the

1971

Jaguar E-type v12 series 3, 5.3 liter, 272 horsepower. the specs, this thing is great to drive, thank you so much for watching, liking, commenting and subscribing, and don't forget to respect the driving and of course check out the bond group to see more of these crazy cars and their inventory, see you in the next.
