I would come home from school and Sailor Moon was on TV right after I got out of school and I had always been an artist, but you know, I liked drawing little kids' pictures and I saw Sailor Moon and I thought, "wow, how They look, they just look different," like American cartoons don't look like that, like I've never seen anything like that. This I wanted to express myself in my art in a way that I was passionate about and nothing had ever hit me like that until I saw it, they were like those big beautiful

eyes, it was like, I mean, the women looked like women, just anime.

More Interesting Facts About,

the bright and colorful world of anime tattoos tattoo opinions...

It was like an awakening for me. I started seeing all these really incredible stories, often centered around women, that were very inspiring to me and I think that's another reason why I'm so interested in women as heroes, women as leaders, why I open a store exclusively for girls. I mean, I can really trace almost every passion I have in my life back to anime. Saved my life. It made me feel much less alone and isolated. I like it. It gave me a passion that I look forward to every day. I started getting interested in anime when I was in high school, but then my high school art teachers told me that it wasn't real art and that I couldn't draw it or use it to submit similar projects and stuff like that. messed up um and I think that's funny now that I've built a career off of similar things things are similar that my art has always been bubbly it's always been cartoony um it's just the way I draw it's definitely I mean such Again, since they didn't let me go to the new school or didn't let me do anime, I would end up doing more things that seemed like the new school, um, but it was always super cartoony, so I started an apprenticeship the traditional way, ya You know, I had. a mentor, I worked in the shop a couple days a week, and you know, back then you didn't have drawings or show a portfolio, they were like, oh, you want to be a tattoo artist, okay, like you're going to do roses and skulls, I told.

My mentor I told him: You know, I like to draw like these anime girls and he said: Yeah, okay, but that's not for

tattoos

, it's for you, you can do it at home, but when you draw tattoos, you draw roses and scripts. script, oh my god, I had a couple of friends and acquaintances who knew me as an anime artist and they were like: can you do like a Totoro or like a Ghibli, something like that? And like I said, Hori Benny was the only person I'd ever seen that girls liked anime style and stuff and he was doing a 90s style like this new anime style wasn't very 90s angular faces um square eyes you know and um I was like I wonder if I can do that and Benny was doing it, I don't know if he was in Japan at the time, but I saw it in a magazine.

I was like, I want to do these tattoos and my mentor was like, no, you can't do tattoos like that, that's not how it is. you can't bold outline an anime face, you know, unless it's huge and who's going to have an anime character that big. Now you know, but back then that wasn't happening, so I was doing all these little ones and they'd be like, oh, you've got a black tone, you've got a whip black tone there and I'm like, but I don't know, that seems weird and they said that that's the right way to do it and eventually my clients said we wanted to.
Do it how you draw, how you draw, and my mentor, I mean, I worked in my mentor's store for a long time, so of course I respect him and I wasn't going to do things that he told me. It wasn't because I trusted his knowledge, he had been tattooing for over 20 years, but I just said, please, let me try it, you know? and then he just jumped looking back, he's kind of crazy that I figured it out. not at all because there were no resources at the time, like I couldn't go look at a tattoo like Mike and Dazzo's and say, oh, that's just like him.
Shades, I'm going to try that or look at it, Michaela's butt tattoo and say, oh you. I know I can use this technique or learn from it, it was like well I'm going to use this blue one and just fill it in and see what it looks like and you know here we are you know I don't really have that many anime tattoos because it wasn't a popular style When I was tattooing a lot, there weren't people who specialized in it and even if you're taking an exact image, it's still difficult to replicate that exact image. clean lines solid colors there are different techniques, as I have experienced over the years of learning how to do this and developing my own technique, but at the time I was starting to learn, the big names in the business were, you know, Dave Cavanaugh. and a lot of other people who didn't do that kind of style and wanted to get what they liked.
I wanted to respect their art and get their art, so they covered me with all this stuff and now there's like a whole new generation. from tattoo artists who do things that I really love and I just don't have that much room for them, so when I come up with a really good idea for an anime tattoo, I'd like to just draw it for someone else. thanks oh that's a tough spot neck Michaela is the biggest goat ever she's like probably my hands down my favorite tattoo or my favorite anime tattoo artist. I've never seen anything like this, but if anyone wants eyes, anime eyes on her neck.
Michaela is the one who would do it perfectly, so it's perfect, it's amazing, did Horry Benny do that? Yes, the other goat is great. Hori Benny is one of my favorite tattoo artists. I have to get a tattoo with it, it's a perfect tattoo. that man was probably the first person to actually do anime tattoos. I mean, I know, 12 years ago, the only person I could think of who was doing it was Benny, how beautiful, Benny, if you see this, I love you, you're great, I did that. It was me, hey, please notice me. I hope Guy Fieri sees this.
I hope the kids know how much everyone loves him because he's cool, this is cool too, so every Halloween I do flash where I take a character and put a costume on them. You're dressed as someone or another character and I don't know why that was what drove me this year, but I thought of Flames, I thought of Charmander, I thought of Guy Fieri, I'm a big fan of his and then of course someone got it because my The clients are amazing and it was a lot of fun to do, he hadn't noticed me yet so I hope one day they will be as cute and we will make it very hard for me to hate anything.
They are all so good. I love them because Re anime, but it's like the specific style of the tattoo artist, so I really like it, I admire this, they can take these characters and make them their own, that's really cool, they're beautiful. What I want to know is if he feels like he's being shaken. out for Luffy because that's what would make me think that whatever you do with this hand now Luffy does it with his hand and maybe he's not left-handed and then he's safe, but like he's pretty crazy, that's pretty wild, I don't know. how I feel about that background, but the concept is great.
I feel like maybe the arm should be a little thicker and a little less depth. These are weird to me, it's well done, but I think it would be weird to feel like an extension. of a character on my arm I've seen it many times, many Jesuses, many people understand it with Jesus, which is also strange because God forbid your idiot be the one who has Jesus, then maybe you can't masturbate anymore. you have to learn how to do it with the other hand, well it looks like a potato, that's cool, it's very small but still has a little outline.
I don't know what those hands will look like over time, but it has a little bit of outline so I hope it's good, this is very nice. I love Kayon. I love this anime, but they have to stop getting these big tattoos. It looks great, but there is no way for the tattoo to show through. So now, oh, I did it. Wow, this one is really good. I don't know where you found this, but they are good at tattooing. It was a fun project. That girl sat down. Like a rock it didn't move. I think we did it in like four or five sessions but the fun I love Sailor Moon so much what's your favorite part of this tattoo oh that's hard I like how the background is because it's simple but it's a little galaxy like um but I love it chibiosa I love chibi Moon she is my baby so she is my favorite I like that part I also like doing that part she is super cute foreign
