The Bonneville Work Begins! | The Only Option is to Try and Fix it Myself

Apr 09, 2024
It's time, we're ready milker, it's been a while, it's been a week since the day I left the

bonneville

down after returning from Europe and honestly I haven't even been able to look at it, it's been parked in the back from the parking space below and I haven't had any interest in even touching it until last night when I finally thought no, you know what's enough. I'm ready to do it again so it needs

work

, I have no idea what

work

it needs. but it is a simple bicycle. I probably got frantic when I was in France and I can surely try to fix it

myself

, so I'm about to go to the parts store, buy some parts and see if I can fix it and get one today.

Get it 100% before you do it, I have a new jacket from a Spanish company, Andromeda, to show you a sustainable company from Spain. This is the Neowise jacket. It is made of a 100% polyethylene exterior. I think that's its name, so it's Highly Abrasion Resistant with a 100% Kevlar lining. It costs 397 euros. This is a triple A rated jacket. The highest safety rating you can get. It comes with all the armor in the right places and is a size medium. I'm six feet tall. one and about 80 kilos and it fits absolutely perfectly it's meant to be tougher than leather it's meant to be more breathable than leather and it's also water repellent fantastic i haven't come across this brand before but now i'm a big fan I also love what they represent, they have a different material here too so it's more breathable.

More Interesting Facts About,

the bonneville work begins the only option is to try and fix it myself...

It is a very, very comfortable jacket. The aim of this video is to bring the bike to a good enough standard that you can ride it and go for broke. a little walk to a coffee shop because actually it already has been. I realized it's been a long time since I took Monica to a coffee shop so I'm giving

myself

three hours, of course I don't have a bike so I'll pump. I take the tires off my dad's old bike and head two miles that way to the parts store, where I'm going to get parts for the motorcycle, where I've never been before.

Actually, I've never been. to a dedicated motorcycle parts store to get anything, so this will be a first for me and you can see the ipswich marina, today it looks like Santa Claus is paying, amazing blue sky, completely clear, not completely clear, and the still water almost had a head there with another cyclist who I'm not used to riding a bike okay, so it's about two minutes left. I'm going to try to get the spark plug oil filter to do that and then hopefully that will give me a good idea as to what the situation is with the bike.

I've said that Freddie sounds like he's just firing on one cylinder, so he checks the spark plug, so that's the first thing I did. This is incredible. Look how cute the zipper switch looks. People even clean the streets. Incredible. Oh, I picked up the bike yesterday. Between. I came back from the city to Ipswich, went to unlock the bike and someone tried to steal the front tire of the bike. It can't be worth more than five pounds. Why would anyone want to steal a flat front tire? Okay here we go we're going to pick her up so the bike has a flat so I had to go back 40 minutes which was actually a very nice experience so there are very nice people there I think I recorded the real name and the contact details of that place because it is very, very nice, they know what they are doing. you go in there you just say the model of your bike and they have the parts ready for you so I have an oil filter, oil spark plugs, air filter so pretty much the whole basic service package for £75 and the interesting thing is that the waiting list to do any kind of work on your bike in the uk, i guess it's uk wide, but you certainly have to wait a month in ipswich, so any kind of work you need you will have to miss about half of It's cycling season, so it's definitely best to try it for yourself.
If I can't fix the Bonneville myself today, I won't have a bike for a month or something, I have no choice, I have to fix it myself. A good mechanic will be able to do it, I think a basic oil change or basic service i.e. air filter, oil filter, spark plugs and oil, I guess about 45 minutes, let's see how fast I can do it, so I'm at 28 minutes. away the oil what is the name of that screw that you unscrew to let the oil out unscrewing oil screw unscrewed let the oil out the oil filter has come out tank off obviously the seats have disconnected the battery I noticed something because now I'm on the spark plugs   oh, and I also took out the air filter uh, I just started taking out the spark plugs.
I'll turn the camera around in a second and show you the moment this happened. I posted on Instagram and Adam from Easyridertenery said Freddie, these. Bonnevilles are quite known for pulling the wire off a spark plug and he said that would mean it's flying on a single cylinder and that would be the reason for their atrocious economy, rough ride and general feeling like the bike is about to explode. I think you're right because I just removed the spark plug wire. One of them felt like he was barely hanging on to the spark plug and the others let go.
I'm happy because I think that's the problem, but I'm furious with myself because if this is true and this solves the problem that I traveled between six hundred and seven hundred kilometers and indeed there is no problem with the oil tank of the bicycle that is here, which I have to take somewhere and dispose of properly then that's the filter at the bottom of course the tank with no battery and everything outside and here's the problem it was barely on barely on and on this side I'll be completely honest if I can move my hand which wasn't even on either one and with the

bonneville

s they are brilliantly designed because they are very easily accessible to get the spark plugs so there is no excuse whatsoever.
I'm going to change the spark plugs, put in a new filter, put in the oil, put in new oil, put it back together and see if it works well. At the very least, there will be a huge difference between the old and the new, a huge difference that can

only

be a very good thing because they are changing them. All done. I just put the last bit of oil in it, so I'm going to turn the engine on now just to make sure it's at the right level. I started at 1 49 and now it's 3 25. An hour and a half isn't bad for me.
Okay, this is it. I'll know right away if it sounds good because before it was so atrocious. so here goes, not sure to check the right side spark plug doesn't sound right. I hope I'm thinking that maybe I just didn't tighten it, so I loosened everything with the tank seat again to tighten the point on the right side. spark plug yes, it's my last hope, I mean, it doesn't work, well I have the bike, I definitely can't take the bike on the road there, the queues are too big at the bike shop, so the bike is fiat, yes , she is lovely. summer combo ok I'm emotionally exhausted because all I do now is bite mechanics, I'm not a good bike mechanic and I don't really enjoy it if it doesn't work, okay, give up, it's so exhausting, so exhausting. it works that sound just came back it's like a hissing god it's a rollercoaster that sound just came back but what is that sound like a hissing sound from the right side spark plug hmm why is that hissing ok?
I'll cut the camera for an hour. I'll come back if I can figure it out or I'll just keep riding as is. This is now the third ending I filmed in hopes of a good outcome. I didn't have any luck with the first two. Oh, ah, well done, that's it. feels great, excellent problem with the spark plug just as a couple of people said including easyrider tenerife adam thank you thank you it was that spark plug right let's go to a coffee shop yeah too so it feels like a very nice coffee , very well deserved, feels so good. having the bike on the road and working again and really working again, but I was just at my limit then, absolutely at my limit, so I feel amazing now that summer is here in the UK and the bike is working, so it's cool, right?
If you're looking for a new jacket, definitely go and check out Andromeda. She has impressed me a lot. It feels like a completely modern take on a classic leather jacket, but it's not too difficult to try to emulate a leather jacket. It's a Take it again, the quality of the build, the thick cladding, but it's still cool in the summer months, if you can believe it, it's 26 degrees in Ipswich today, it's amazing and it's still nice and airy, so no Take a look at them, but thank you all very much for coming. I'm excited to see more Bonneville content.
It's not the end of Bonneville, but I can't reveal too much in the next video. There will be a different bike. on the channel thank you all very much for coming see in the next
