The Best and Worst Things About the Mazda3

Mar 19, 2024
Hello, how are you recently? I just finished a review of the new

mazda3

and there were so many technical details in that video that I had brain damage afterwards. Believe it or not, I was a little disappointed in myself for having to delete some. of the

things

I wanted to include, like all the pros and cons of that car, and I talked directly to Mazda, I talked to people who tested it, other members of the automotive press and what I'm going to give you. It's the

best

of the Mazda 3 and the

worst

, so you can remove some subjective and objective elements, let's get started.
the best and worst things about the mazda3
The exterior of the Mazda3, you have two body styles, a hatch and a sedan, and it doesn't matter which car you choose or choose. Whether it's a McLaren, a Ferrari or a Honda Civic, people usually fall into two camps: one side will tell you that the car is so disgusting that they want to throw up in your mouth and the other side is the guy who will go to his garage in in the middle of the night and you hump it and rub it with a diaper and that's how exterior styling is totally subjective, it's personal with this Mazda 3 it's just an evolution of the last car, there's more attention to detail, like in the hatch that you have a black grill, the darker wheels and in darker colors it looks more cohesive, but you know what my opinion is, there are details that they have added like this tight olive green black on the front grill and matte textures to break up many of the elements and it's one of these

things

you go to a dealership with an indecent light or a garage and you look at it and decide if you can live with it or not, but instead of wasting time on that, let's go inside, well, let's start with advantages and Inside is a great place to start.

More Interesting Facts About,

the best and worst things about the mazda3...

The most important thing about the new Mazda 3 and this next generation of Mazda is its attention to detail in the interior space, the stitching, the design of the dashboard, the leather, the way they have integrated the screen and the dashboard now seem more part of him instead of being an afterthought. They have padded the armrests. The center armrest. The door armrest feels much more comfortable than before. The knee area is padded on the right side. the knob buttons and switches are some of the

best

in the segment and you have to go to a luxury car area to have this type of tactile feedback and almost all the buttons and switches in here and you notice it when driving and interacting with the car, the gear lever is manual, where it has physical clicks between all the gears.
the best and worst things about the mazda3
It is not digital. The infotainment command knob is easy to use as a solid clicker. There is no vagueness in it. The way the buttons are placed is intuitive to the point. when you use it and drive it, you don't have to look at it when you remember where everything is, there's a lot here in terms of just thinking about designing the layout so that you feel integrated with the car and that's one. Of the best changes Mazda has made with this generation, the next thing you'll appreciate are the color options: you have this black interior, you have this gray or darker gray that I'm sitting in now and you have the red option which gives it a little of character depending on who you are, yes a black interior will pretty much be the most durable, you won't have any color change or you know you won't see all the dirt like you would on a lighter colored interior, but you might like this one option and it's great you have the option of a wireless charging pad which is also in your armrest and speaking of electronics the infotainment is much better than it used to be and I'm going to talk about that just for a minute there are a lot of complaints about it looking older, like it was removed from the older BMW setup and the way I'm going to explain this to you is simple now because it used to work.
the best and worst things about the mazda3
In the field of technology, I understand how difficult it is to exceed your goals with technology. Many companies that sell technology solutions will oversell them. They say look at all the things we can offer you and the more complicated you make a user interface, the more code it requires, the more potential bugs you introduce into a configuration, which means you don't just have to fix those bugs or most manufacturers don't. They do it and their clients stick with it. When you make it too complicated, it just means it's harder. to keep it running throughout its life cycle, so what Mazda really tried to do here was remove it and the side effect is that it looks pretty basic, there are no fancy colours, there are no crazy levels of animations or graphical usage, it's basically black. slab with just the text and information you need and as a side effect it's simple and hopefully in the long run you won't have to go back and forth to the dealership all the time to update it or freeze it up.
Okay, on top of that, there's the fact that they don't have telematics systems in this car, which means there's no modem, there's no cellular Internet connection, which means you don't have to put up with that long term and they don't have to worry about braking and for people who are safety conscious, that means they won't be in the background recording your driving habits and uploading them to their servers, that's something a lot of manufacturers are doing now in the other area I looked at . In review was the LED interior lighting the uniformity of the gauge cluster because it has a digital display in the middle and analog gauges on the side.
It's shocking how well the color and graphics on the LCD match the physical gauges, and to the untrained eye, you'd never know it. While the central displays are digital at night unless you really look at them, the other part they improved was the color uniformity of the interior LED lighting. If you've noticed cars like Hyundai and Kia, which I complain about a lot, they tend to have this really blue tint and the LED lights don't particularly match in color or tone on the steering wheel, the center area, the upper interior lights don't match, Mazda dedicated time to color match all of this, so pretty much all lighting at night is about 5,000 K. and they aimed for a CRI value of over 90% so that everything looks uniform and that's just again their attention to the detail.
The other big pro is the improvements in sound quality. They have relocated the low frequency drivers to the footwells. They have taken the low frequency speaker. Outside the door casing and they no longer have a hole there, which reduces NVH and vibration, so the noise level is reduced. They have relocated the mid-range and high-range drivers so there is less sound reflection in the car. Also, and you notice this immediately when driving in almost all situations, the sound system is much better, so on the latest things, the seat design is better than before, it feels more comfortable, less fatiguing, more supportive. without being stuffy receipts, in the same way, the adjustability is much better in the driver's seat and even the rear seats are a little more comfortable, so let's talk about that now, the rear seat and hatch space, already You know, that's exactly how it was in the previous generation Mazda 3, it's not bigger, it doesn't feel smaller, the only place where you'll notice where your headroom is impeded is here, on this pillar, getting in and out, but once you're sitting like a normal person. yes it feels like it has a lower roofline, there is less glass here, this is not a full size luxury car so it will be tighter, that's what I'm trying to say, the comfort of the Seating is good, there is plenty of padding.
The seat feels upright but the door armrests are totally soft, like I said up front it feels like you're putting your arm on a sponge, it's something you'll have to try and get used to but I wouldn't do it. I consider this to be a total rip-off for its price range. Okay, the pros of the rear: you have a hatchback option, which is great. They've improved the rear cargo tray so it goes higher and you're not as likely to hit your head when you reach in the previous generation I cut my head all the time because it was super sharp it still has a sharper trailing edge but if you hit, it will go further instead of just taking your head off, I have to reiterate this is a car, it's not an SUV so it's not raised on stilts, it doesn't have the greatest carrying capacity, but again, you have to look at this, you have to decide if it will be good for you, let's get into it. the cons, well let's move on to the list of cons, the first one if you choose the trim level in the HUD, the HUD is now displayed or projected on the windshield, so the module is located here on the gauge hood, of so when you drive and we have broken or pitted, pitted pavement, that projection on the glass like the speedometer, you can see how it moves, it has vibration and it's blurry, and it's one of the only brands I've seen that has that problem and doesn't It's just the Mazda. 3, so I don't know if it's the way they mount it inside or if the module isn't stabilized enough, but it's annoying, secondly, you can't turn it off permanently, so you have to go into display mode driving, turn it off there and every time you restart it it comes back on so basically for someone like me I want all the features but I'm a bit stuck going down to a lower trim level to get rid of the HUD because I don't want to fight with the turns . they turn it on and off and the reason they do that is because of Mazda's mentality of having information on the driving screen here here an infotainment here and they want to keep these main functions on at all times, which brings me to the next part negative with all this technology that What you're putting here doesn't allow you to customize it enough, for example I can only see my volume information here on the infotainment screen.
I can't see it on this gauge here on the digital display. I can't see my volume. information up here and the heads up display or my Bluetooth information or song change here and here I can only see it here so at night if I want to turn off the screen here you are basically Sol until this screen turns back on or it comes back on when you adjust the volume, it's really annoying and it's just a matter of logic, what is better, what the customer wants or what Mazda wants. It's negative for me. The next negative is the Bose audio system, although it is much better. than the previous generation, I still find these speakers because of the way they did the equalizer, they are so super flat, even when you turn on the center point mode which widens the soundstage, it sounds really boring, like it lacks brightness and of course , I'm getting it.
They are older now and many of the high-end audio products are shinier because they are aimed at older people who can afford them. I feel like just a tune-up and our high-end speakers are made to give it some life would be helpful. but again, it's a professional recognition depending on who you are. The next negative that I can understand and have heard from people is that when you get in the driver's seat and close these doors, it feels like the visibility is not as good as before. more claustrophobic and I'll tell you right now if you're coming from an older vehicle with a lot of glass cars from the '90s and early '00s or SUVs, this is different, this is a car, it has a lower roofline, it has less glass so when you first get here you will have to adapt to that if you need an SUV or in this shiny cabin, well this Mazda 3 will probably turn, you offer it, it will take some getting used to, but no way.
Do you feel small? It's just a kind of illusion. The next thing is that people will complain that these vehicles don't have a panoramic sunroof and I've seen it many times. All Mazda models do not have it. Mazda claims they don't have a panoramic sunroof. panoramic sunroof due to structural rigidity because they have to make a huge hole in the roof to accommodate it, but this is what happens, I understand it, I understand that customers want it even though I don't want it, other manufacturers have discovered a way through the use of structural adhesives on over a hundred feet of them using different stamping techniques on the interior door shells to increase the rigidity of the cabin where a hole can be made in the roof and Mazda.
I don't know if they are still there or don't want to commit to that cost and time to do it just to cut a hole in there for a panoramic sunroof, but again, it's a scam if you're looking for that now, the next scam is also kind of a bonus from the telematics there is no telematics system here for the infotainment of course you can't update it wirelessly you are stuck with the maps that are here you are stuck with everything that is here until you take it to a dealership and update it to just so you know the next downside is the way these silver buttons on the bottom half of these steering wheel controls have cutouts to backlight at night and in some dim lighting or in the cabin since they are on a downward slope they are very difficult to see by inserting lighting conditions into the day, so it's almost like you have to memorize what they are and you'll see that whendrive more the next thing you will notice is when you open these doors and close them they have this spring, they feel a little light and cheap and some of this is simply perceived quality, it has nothing to do with the structural integrity of the door, but i feel What if they added a little weight. and the sound deadening on these doors would feel stiffer and have a greater impact on the customer now that we are the last cons to talk about is something I have read incessantly in the comments of my videos.
It even comes from the automotive press as well. and that is Mazda's omission to have a turbocharged engine in the new Mazda 3 or a high performance trim level and honestly it is a missed opportunity that they have competitors like Honda with the Civic that has an SI that has a differential of limited slip which is cheaper than this car, you have VW with GTI which again is about the same price as a fully loaded Mazda 3 and the GTI performs better. Hyundai has the Veloster and the r-spec which is cheaper, so you know. I think there are two right sides for me.
I bought a Mazda 3 in the past because I had sports cars. I didn't need my daily driver to be a rocket, but most people look for this because this car is so good now. People want this vehicle to be everything they wanted: refined, comfortable, fuel-efficient luxuries. You know, luxury features and they wanted to add performance. And the Mazda 3, at least, isn't trying to be a sports car. In fact, when you drive it. You really have to adjust your expectations to realize that this is not going to blow you away in terms of speed and it's not trying to by design, so the only way I can explain this is that Mazda is a smaller company and they are doing everything possible. to improve their core products so they have more sales volume now, if you're fresh out of college and saddled with $100,000 in student debt and your first jobs cost 40 grand, of course you won't have any money to waste o No you're going to have a hundred grand to spend on a Porsche 911 for a toy, you're going to need to get something practical until you can make more money, all of that and I feel like that's what Mazda is really trying to do.
All three of them and their next changes to their products, once they can sell two hundred and three hundred thousand units a year, if they can do that with these products, then they will have more money to spend on making that enthusiast product that will actually only sell about 15,000 units a year. for that small group that needs it and until they get to that point I'm okay with them improving their products and if you need a sports car or a sports car you might have to go somewhere else. In the meantime, but I'm a big fan of what they're trying to do here, I understand the pros and cons and if you look at it from a more complete picture you might even appreciate the car more, so that's enough if I haven't. reviewed my review, please do.
See you in the next video. Wild keys, what a waste of skin, man, we gotta get rid of this guy. I'll show you how, but first, in this Subaru I think 60 psi. it should be good if you you
