euv and it is Chevrolet's latest

electric

car. The Bolt first came out in 2017 for

electric

utility vehicle because it is more practical than the regular Bolt and today I am going to review it before I start, see cars and deals which is my online enthusiast car auction website and the best place to buy and sell cool cars of the modern era. hatchback

.
the 2022 chevy bolt euv is an electric hatchback with good tech
You understand that for 2022 the bolt has been redesigned and remains an electric

hatchback

called the bolt ev, but Chevy is also adding a new version. to the regular hatchback called the Bolt Euv, which is this car, and it's a little bit bigger and more practical than a regular Bolt, so what's the difference between the regular Bolt and this one? The Bolt euv, well euv means electric utility vehicle and this one is bigger than the normal volt with more interior space and a more muscular design, chevy is presenting it as a kind of crossover electric vehicle, not suv but euv, that's the idea, although for me it's a bit suspect, it's only offered with front-wheel drive and the ground clearance is It's not very crossover let alone an SUV, but there's still a lot to like here.

More Interesting Facts About,

the 2022 chevy bolt euv is an electric hatchback with good tech...

The regular Bolt EV starts around 32,000. The Euv costs around two thousand dollars more. They have the same all-electric powertrain, around 200 horsepower, and about the same range, around 250 miles, but the big news is that the Bolt euv will offer Super Cruise, which is a driver-assist

tech

nology from General Motors designed to rival Autopilot from Tesla and others. That's a big deal because it's the first time supercruise has appeared outside of some very expensive cadillac products in the new one. Bolt euv and today I'm going to review the Bolt Euv and show you what it's all about. First I'll take you on a tour of all the Bolt Euv's interesting quirks and features and then I'll take it out on the road. and drive it and see how it feels and then I'll give it an excellent rating.
the 2022 chevy bolt euv is an electric hatchback with good tech
I'm going to start off the Bolt Euv's quirks and features with some interesting exterior quirks, starting with the brake lights, which are strange because they're Dummies, you can see they're illuminated right now, but that's only because the headlights are on these functions like taillights, but when you actually go and brake, you can see the brake lights come on at the bottom, like on the bumper, and that's it. The same goes for the turn signals placed on the turn signal and it also lights up on the bumper and away from this set of giant brake lights that you would expect to be the brake lights and turn signals, very interesting and quirky that They are now part of the The reason they do this is because there is a regulation that says you can't have brake lights on a body part that moves like the tailgate, but they could still have put brake lights on. on the side like a lot of cars do, but instead There's something weird about the bumper with the euv bolt and by the way, speaking of these taillights, this taillight assembly comes on when the lights are on, like I mentioned , but there's a quirky little Easter egg on the side that lights up too. the chevy logo, you can see this little chevy logo that lights up every time the taillights come on and that looks cool, i love it, but anyway, below, two more interesting quirks around the rear, one is on the bumper, you can see there is this black one.
the 2022 chevy bolt euv is an electric hatchback with good tech
The plastic piece in the center is very large, it's not painted, it looks a little out of place, in fact it makes the bolt look like it permanently has one of those rubber bumper protectors that people buy on the blue car . It doesn't look too bad, but in silver you can see it really looks, it doesn't really look that

good

, there's another interesting element back here that you can see on the taillight, this has the badge as bolt euv, not just bolt or stud electric or whatever it specifically says euv. to distinguish this car from the regular Bolt EV hatchback which is a different car as I mentioned and talking about the Bolt Euv branding on this car you can see the same thing on the front fender just below the hood line again it says Bolt Euv calling specifically .
Find out what version of the bolt it is now in this area, it also has another little hidden easter egg, once again a Chevy logo appears on the side reflector in orange which is a nice little quirk if you notice it for people who see those kind of little details now the headlights themselves are kind of interesting on this car the top piece what you see here is not the headlight but the running light and when you turn on the turn signal it becomes the turn signal and you can see with the twist The sign on it extends across the front, which I think looks really cool.
It's becoming more and more common in the automotive industry and always looks clean and interesting, so you might wonder where exactly the headlights are if they're not in this. upper light assembly where are they so they are down here on this lower headlight assembly like on the bumper this is the headlight this big piece that you see that is the light and it is quite low, especially for a car, some SUVs put the lights lower to make are more compatible with cars, but rarely seen in hatchbacks. this lower lighthouse, but that's where it is in the euv.
Another interesting element on the front is the grill. This is an electric car, so they don't really need a big grill for airflow. instead, it's this piece here with this kind of weird design that looks like the side of an art museum, but it's interesting to see it there, in fact, it's interesting to see what automakers are doing with the front of their electric cars Since you don't need grills, it's kind of a big unused space and all the automakers are coming to different conclusions about what they should do with the space and this is what Chevy did, but anyway, below We move inside the euv bolt and its first impression.
Going in here is that the interior is quite nice, especially for the price. Now it's worth noting that there are some cheaper materials here, for example the door panel has a cheaper plastic. The same goes for the center console that can be seen around the cup. The bracket has a plastic that looks and feels cheap and the same on the passenger side of the dash looks a little cheap, but for the most part things here are quite nice. It has, for example, a lot of piano black trim that is not normally seen at the moment. The price is like a smaller hatchback and you get these nice blue seats, they are dark blue to match the blue exterior of the car and have blue stitching which looks great.
They also have an interesting sort of perforated triangle design. Saying this in two is better than I expected given the price given the overall engines and the type of size and class of this car, but anyway, moving on to the interesting quirks here, a notable one is the gear selector on the center, without lever. no dial, has p buttons for park on top, then r pull back this switch to go into reverse, then n for neutral, press down then d to drive again, a switch to go into drive, one gear interesting and strange. Selector for an interesting futuristic type vehicle.
Now, the button below all of these on the gear selector is very important. This button turns on one-pedal driving, so if you press it, the car will automatically regenerate every time you step off the accelerator pedal and will sort of slow down and stop automatically. Many electric cars have this feature in this car. It is very easy to turn on or off. Just press that little button. Another interesting thing in the center console area is around the cupholders. A cup holder. It has this silver trim around it and the other one doesn't, so you have one chosen cup holder in this car and one minor cup holder.
It's a bit of an odd trim that's also worth noting on this center console, in front of the entire gear selector on the Very top you have a button with a checkered flag that activates sport mode, although this car only has about 200 horsepower, it's not really very sporty, you have a sport mode to make it a little more exciting to drive the sporty bone. The button is placed next to the inexplicably huge traction control off button, which is about the size of four buttons, but it's there so you can press the traction control with all your fingers at once if you want to keep going on too. this.
However, nearby moving towards the dashboard is a power button to turn the car on or off. Now many electric vehicles do not have power buttons. You just walk in, they detect that you're in and then they turn on, but this one does. To get in, you have to manually turn it on to start it and go anywhere and when you park it, you have to press that button to manually turn it off, a little different operation than other EVs below in the vicinity of This Start Button It's something I know I will absolutely hate. You have the volume control for the stereo system in this car and then, mounted right next to it is a dial of the same size and shape that adjusts to where you look on the infotainment.
On the screen you can see one is the volume and then an inch away the same dial and that just moves through the icons in infotainment, it's not really a great location, it's not ideal to have those two things with different functions one next to each other, although it is like that. It is worth noting that the driver has his own volume control on the back of the steering wheel, very convenient, so with your hands around the steering wheel, simply touch these small buttons to turn the volume up or down, so these dials They will mainly be a problem for the passenger, but it is annoying to have them next to each other and by the way, speaking of the back of the steering wheel, this car has one paddle on the steering wheel, not two like every other car with paddle shifters, just one and it's on the left, you can see. there is a little icon of a battery with an arrow on it, that paddle allows you to control your regen, your regenerative braking when you are decelerating, you can increase your regen and thus increase how quickly the car decelerates by pulling that paddle if you want and can use it along with one-pedal driving, so if one-pedal driving doesn't slow the car down fast enough, you can start pulling on that paddle and it will regenerate more and slow the car down even more, which is a nice touch.
Especially very convenient right next to your hand and then a very important feature to mention near this steering wheel is this little piece here which is a camera that will monitor you while you drive as part of the super cruise system that this car has super cruise with motors general, such as driving assistance feature, which will turn for you, brake and accelerate for you whenever you are on a mapped road and supercruise has mapped most of the roads in North America so you can use this feature most of the time. time and the camera will look at you to make sure you're paying attention and if you're looking ahead it will basically drive for you on the mapped roads, steering, braking, accelerating, all of that.
Now I have a function. Deep video on how super cruiser works on my second channel. I'll link it in the description below so you can check it out and see how it works, but basically this is General Motors' rival to Tesla's Autopilot. Now it's important, especially on this car, because it's the first time GM has installed it on something other than an expensive Cadillac like the Escalade. Here it is in a relatively affordable vehicle. This super cruise driving assistance system works very well. Now it's worth noting that it's not available on the bolt, only the bolt. euv this car is the only way you can get supercruises but its the first application outside of an expensive cadillac on a car like this its pretty cool to see it with that said one drawback of supercruise on the euv bolt it wont change lanes for you when On the Escalade you put on the turn signal and the system will automatically make a lane change when it is safe, that doesn't happen here.
The escalade has more sensors on the outside than theIt doesn't have a lock, so in this car you have to do it manually. change lanes, but otherwise it has all the benefits of supercruising and frankly, aside from super crews, this car has a lot of impressive features given the price and, like the class it competes in as a small hatchback, there are a lot Nice luxuries here, for example. You get heated and ventilated front seats, which is a pretty nice touch. You also get a heated steering wheel. You press this switch and turn on the heated steering wheel.
You don't see that very often in small hatchbacks, so you also get automatic high beams. here, so you press this little button on the turn signal, you turn on the automatic high beams and then the bright lights come on when it's safe when you're driving at night, which is cool and your rearview mirror in this car is a camera that you can see right now it's just a normal looking mirror, but if you flip this switch it just turns into a camera and then you can see everything behind you much easier because you're not looking at the headrests and the seats and trying to see outside.
In your rear window you see everything in the wide field of view and that is another nice feature at this price. You also get a panoramic sunroof here, a big, wide sunroof that opens over the front seats, which again is nice to see on a small hatchback and another feature I love about this car is the infotainment system. This is the latest infotainment system from General Motors. I've reviewed it on many cars and I love it on all of them. It is tremendously intuitive and very well designed. and very easy to use incredibly touch sensitive just like your smartphone is, if not better, it's really excellent.
There are a couple of special highlights worth noting on this infotainment system. One is the camera system in this car. You come in here and you can see that there are all kinds of different camera angles where you can see all kinds of different angles as you drive this car, park it, or move around in a small space, which makes it very easy to park and it's nice to see such full camera system in a car like this, but my favorite feature in this infotainment system is without a doubt the portion of power that it gives you and gives you interesting information that you don't see too often in electric cars, for For example, it tells you exactly what it is. using all your energy while driving you can see that your driving is using some of it but also your climate control is using more of it and that's interesting to see the breakdown of what it's using which is also cool here.
There is a small tab that tells you what is affecting your range and battery usage. You can see that it shows you how your driving

tech

nique affects you, whether it increases or decreases your range, but it also shows the terrain you are on if there is elevation. The changes, gains or losses, are affecting battery performance, weather and temperature, and how much effect they are having, and they even tell you exactly how much each little bit that you are driving each of these external factors is affecting. It's great to see, it's like the terrain is too steep and has robbed us of three miles of range.
It actually tells you that in this system I love seeing that and then we move on to the back seat of the Bolt Euv, which I have to do. Let's just say it's surprisingly big for what this car is. I'm sitting back here and you can see my knees are almost touching the back of the front seat and I have enough head room to sit here. I'm six foot three six foot four and I have decent space back here. I wouldn't say I'm incredibly comfortable like I'm sitting in the back of my box lounging, but I rarely have enough room in the back of small hatchbacks like this car, but I have it here and that's the point of the euv bolt in comparison. with the normal bolt.
This car is six inches longer than the regular bolt and most of that extra space is added to the back seat for more interior space and it shows when you're seated. Back here, if you had one of these, you could carry adults in the front and back of this car in relative comfort, which isn't always true for small hatchbacks, but anyway, size aside, there are other cool stuff back here, for starters there's only one storage pocket. the back of the front seat, so you have on the passenger side a little storage pocket back here, but on the driver's side you have nothing, most cars have two, this one only has one, which is a curious peculiarity that is now also worth mentioning back.
There are no climate vents here for rear seat passengers, but you do have something that I think is more important at the back of the front center console. You have two charging ports, one USB and one normal USB. This car is so small that I don't really need rear-seat climate control, but it's nice to have device charging ports for back-seat passengers. You also have heated seats back here. This little button on the door turns on the heated rear seats. You only have one setting on or off. I don't decide how much heating you get but you do have heated rear seats and a small hatchback and frankly that's a pretty cool feature and finally we move to the rear of the euv latch and towards the cargo area and surprisingly the tailgate It is not electric. operated, you have to open it manually, which I say is a surprise considering how many features this car has because all the driving assistance has heated and ventilated seats, but it still has a manual tailgate.
It's a little strange, but anyway you walk in here and you can see a relatively large load. Considering the size of this car, you can make it even bigger if you want. This little cargo floor can be lifted up and then you can see that underneath there is sort of a huge second level of cargo area where you can put things if you don't. If you don't want it to move or if you want it to be a little more private, you can also remove this cargo floor completely and then you'll have access to your entire cargo area in one to carry larger items, which is pretty cool and Frankly, it has a lot of space back here is pretty

good

because on the Bolt Euv you don't have a front trunk, you can see how this front area opens up and it's just mechanical components.
Many electric cars have a small trunk up here for extra storage, but the Bolt Euv doesn't, so it's nice to have this extra large cargo area in the back where you can store even more stuff than you'd expect thanks to this floor. bottom and finally, since I'm out of the Bolt Euv, let's talk about the styling from the outside. I think this looks like a pretty normal hatchback, it's certainly not ugly, it's not exactly beautiful, it just looks like a reasonable hatchback. Now it's interesting that they are launching the new Bolt EV and this Euv at the same time and they are different cars that I personally prefer.
I think the look of the Bolt EV has a more futuristic and cool look. I like the egg shape with a sort of flat windshield. I think the regular Bolt ev hatchback looks a little better, but if you compare the two, I personally think this one, the Bolt Euv, is the one you should probably buy, it's the one I would buy. They have the same powertrain, 200 horsepower, about 250 miles of range, but the Euv is bigger inside, as I showed you, and only the Euv offers super cruise. I don't have it on the regular bolt and to me that makes this the better looking car, even though it is a little more expensive and a little less attractive.
I think this is the best most practical alternative in the bolt line, so it's the quirks and features of the new 2022 chevy Bolt euv, now it's time to take it out on the road and see how well it drives driving the Bolt euv. Now I have to say that I was a fan of the outgoing Chevy Bolt, not because I thought so. It was like the best car, but I thought it was a pretty good value for what it was in terms of its electric range and its capabilities. It seemed like a reasonably good car. Many people at Tesla said it wasn't Tesla.
It does not sound. As fun as it was good, that was all true, but it was also a good bargain, so I was always a big fan of the outgoing model. Now, one interesting thing with the new car is that it doesn't really improve the range of the outgoing car. you still have the same powertrain, you still have the same range, which is pretty good, about 250 miles, that's reasonable, but obviously electric vehicles are getting more and more range, you're starting to see over 300 more and more frequency, and that's a bit. A little disappointing, although I have to say that for the price, 250 miles for 33,34,000, it's a reasonably good trade-off, so let's start with the driving experience.
A couple of things like the ones I mentioned. One-pedal driving is a kind of button you can press. to turn on or off, which you know some people don't like to drive with just one pedal, so it's nice to be able to easily go from on to off materials here, nice enough, but not surprising, ultimately this It is a general motor car. in the 30k range it's not going to have the best high quality stuff, but it looks reasonably good, especially considering the price and considering what this car is, which is basically like a compact hatchback, kind of which surprises me and interests me a little.
The ride quality is pretty good here, uh, it's certainly not like a luxury car, but it's better than you'd expect from a slightly tall hatchback from Chevrolet. Alright, the floor is fast, that's not the turn I would use to describe this. car feels good um but it doesn't feel excitingly fast um you know it's a reasonably good electric car in terms of acceleration okay now I'm in traffic and I'm like bumper to bumper alone on a highway so I'm going to turn on the super cruise. I just turned it on, so here I am, I'm sitting here and with no hands, the super cruiser drives or at least steers and brakes.
This is really a great system, I get it. it only works on mapped roads, uh, and a lot of Tesla people will say that's a big limitation, but to me that's generally acceptable. I mainly want to use these systems when I'm on the interstate for a long stretch. Monotonous driving when I'm in heavy traffic and that's when the super cruise works best. Most of the highways have been mapped and it works pretty well in that situation. Now it appeared during the last Super Cruise video I made. Super crew deal? well, with sunglasses, does it work with sunglasses?
The answer is usually yes, you have some camera system that allows you to look through most types of sunglasses and see if your eyes are still focused forward, and if they are, you can continue driving now in terms of Don't expect the performance of this car to be particularly high or particularly exciting. I know the Tesla Model 3 offers a lot more fun for about forty grand. But this car is not like that. It's meant to be more of an electric hatchback, you know, a commuter type car and it's certainly not exciting and you can tell that the steering and handling don't feel that exciting overall.
I'd say there's a lot to like about the Bolt Euv. especially when you look at the price, um and what it offers at that price, this is not the best electric car on the market, but just like a toyota corolla is not the best car on the market for dollar value, it's nice. Good decision and I think that is the case. There are plenty of people who want an electric car and are ready for a car who don't want to spend Tesla money and don't need all the capabilities of a Tesla. It has the excellent driving assistance function, it still has a lot of excellent technology and good range.
It's not the best technology or the best range but it's still great and I'm very excited with the way this car runs and how it drives and all for the price so that's the 2022 chevy bolt euv. This is a car attractive. It's no Tesla in terms of performance, technology or brand, frankly, but it presents an attractive alternative at this price for people who want a lot. Of the benefits of an electric car without spending a fortune and supercruise is a nice cherry on top anyway, now is the time to give the Bolt Euv an excellent score, starting with the weekend and style categories.
The Bolt Euv looks good, it's certainly not beautiful, but it's not ugly either. what you'd expect from a car like this and it gets a 5 out of 10. Acceleration supposedly does 0-60 in 7 seconds, giving it a two out of ten, although I have to say I think it felt a little slower than that handling . it's average for a car like this and it gets a fun factor of three out of ten it's low this isn't meant to be fun and it really isn't except for some accelerationdecent and gets a fun factor of two out of ten is also pretty low as this isn't one of the cool new electric cars, just a more utilitarian and economical eevee hatchback and gets a 3 out of 10 for an overall weekend score 15 out of 50.
Following are the daily categories and bolt features. Euv has some great tags like Supercruise and the mirror camera, but it is also missing some things like a power tailgate. It's a strange mix, but it's mostly going in the right direction and gets an 8 out of 10. Comfort is average for a car like this. and gets a 5 out of 10. Quality 2 is average given the price of this car in market positioning and gets a 5 out of 10. Practicality is good, it's not huge inside but it's bigger than it could think and the range is decent. a 7 out of 10. The value is also solid, it's a little pricey for what it is, but it has some attractive features and is cheaper than many electric vehicles.
It scores a 7 out of 10 for a total daily score of 32 out of 50. Added up and the excavated score is 47 out of 100, putting it here in front of the relevant cars. The Bolt, the uv, is only slightly ahead of the old Bolt, which was slightly faster, the Euv falls behind the more expensive Kia Niro EV, and neither. It can touch the Tesla Model 3, although that's not a surprise since the Model 3 I reviewed was much more expensive. The Bolt Euv isn't particularly exciting or surprising, but it's a good electric car for the money at this price point. This is a practical and reasonable appeal.
