Terminator Dark Fate - Its Terrible

Jun 01, 2021
The unknown future is approaching us. She faced him for the first time with a sense of hope. Well, I don't think you'd feel that way if you knew what was coming 28 years later, Sarah, but I know now and that's why I drink. So Many Dark Fates was exactly what I expected from the hilariously hopeless trailers, a boring, disrespectful, mediocre, creatively botched, visually unimpressive attempt to simultaneously milk the classic films for a box of cheap nostalgia while simultaneously shitting on and using them. as a springboard. launching a new revitalized franchise with a cast of younger actors, what does this remind me of?

Needless to say, I'm going to spoil the content of this movie, so if you don't want to know what happens in it, it's probably best that you do. Seeing a different review, there's a lot to cover here so grab a bottle of whiskey and the glasses because we're going to get tough with this one, there you go, well let's drink, so Dark Fate begins in 1998, when a young Sarah Connor relaxes on a beach. with his son, John Liv, stopped Judgment Day, destroyed Skynet and everything looks pretty good and I take my hat off to the CGI Department on this one because the da-jin process and these actors are absolutely flawless, also a drag It reminded me that Linda Hamilton was really pretty.

More Interesting Facts About,

terminator dark fate its terrible...

A long time ago, this may need to be investigated a little further, gentlemen, but then the t800 shows up and murders John, and let that sink in for a moment, John Connor, the most important man in the history of the humanity, the savior of humanity. human race, the one character whose survival has been at the center of everything that has happened up to this point is eliminated without a single line of dialogue in the equivalent of a pre-credits scene that in its right mind thought was a good one. idea what is the way to shit on all the events, sacrifices and triumphs of Termini or basically undo everything that happened in it, if this doesn't tell you the degree of respect this movie has for the rest of the franchise, then don't I know what will do it.
terminator dark fate its terrible
For example, how is it possible that Morty 800 appears from a future where Skynet no longer exists? to start, so we fast forward to present-day Mexico. No, this is another formulaic Terminator movie. Obviously we need to be introduced to our two competing warriors of the future. The first to appear is an androgynous thing that falls off a bridge and almost. she gets arrested by the local police, but then beats them up because she's some kind of super-enhanced hybrid machine and then steals a man's clothes and leaves because she's too tall like a man. I guess then the Apple Genius comes along and it's a liquid Terminator that can imitate anything or anyone it touches because you know what else we really have at this point, the

terminator

s have basically hit an evolutionary dead end in the second movie and finally , we meet the character at the heart of it all. story of the generic teenager The generic teenager lives with her father and her brother and they both work at a local car factory where humans are being phased out in favor of automated work.

Nice little touch, even though she is about 20 years old, so the Apple Genius, an androgynous thing, tracks her there and they arrive just in time for the androgynous thing to save her, then there's a car chase with a bit of back and forth between the two sides, including the androgynous thing during her ridiculous jump onto the back cover of her truck, but hey, at least you can turn this into a techno track and make it look like she's Lava Nets, anyway, their vehicle is disabled on a bridge and a teenage girl's generic brother dies and Apple Genius separates its liquid outer shell from the metal skeleton. below to make two of them, things look bad because both Apple genies are approaching the two girls, but then a very old version of Sarah Connor magically appears and Semper gleefully disables the Apple genies with a bazooka and then offers the most boring sound. line I think I've ever heard I'll be back really this is what you went with guys, you couldn't have gotten a better purchase than that, so old Sarah Connor goes down to investigate the disabled Apple Genius, allows an androgynous and generic thing. a teenage girl to steal a car and she's as angry about this as if you were tall, we didn't see it coming what did you expect these two desperate fugitives to do?
Sarah just walks around and assumes you were on her side, androgynous is in a bad way because it turns out being a human-machine hybrid isn't that fun. It can fight fast and hard, but only for a limited time before crashing, so it needs medication and supplies to stabilize itself. Did you really think this was for the best? person to send to the past for a mission like this the people of the future are not a person with a constant dependence on drugs inherently vulnerable oh well, it turns out that he passes out anyway, so Sarah Connor tracks them down and marks them so she can interrogate androgens. but it doesn't go very well, something androgynous takes the lead and after a bit of female dick waving to establish who the stronger female character is, we finally get some kind of explanation, so it turns out that something androgynous is coming from a new future.
Skynet never came into existence in their reality, a completely different AI called Legion was created and this completely different AI caused a completely different Day of Judgment and a completely different war between humans and machines which gave rise to a completely different human resistance movement. Oh, sumit lee, this means that a completely different sermon has been sent back in time to kill a completely different savior of humanity straight from the movie, you're literally recycling the exact same story as us. I've had it in every Germany or movie since the first one. No, you have the audacity.
It is an affirmation. This is different simply because it doesn't revolve around Skynet and John Connor. The equation here is exactly the same as before. The fact is to change some of the values, yes idiots, anyway, old Sarah Connor explains that after her son was killed, she started receiving anonymous text messages giving her a time in a place and every time When it got there a

terminator

appeared and destroyed it. How exactly can a single human being eliminate terminators? They have always required the combined efforts of several people to destroy or even damage in the past.
I don't know how Sarah Connor wasn't on that bridge at that time to save a generic teenager. Girl, when Apple Genius arrived at a totally different Simon location, I don't know if these similar ones were sent by Skynet or Legion, if they were sent by Skynet, how is that possible when that future no longer exists and if they were sent by Legion, as was? she's never encountered an apple genie before i don't know why they only send out one sermon at a time when kids invaded the place just as easily with hundreds of them i don't know anyway something androgynous magically tracks down the source of the text that turns out to be from Texas so they sneaked across the border but then they got caught by customs agents and this whole segment felt like a skid and to be honest they finally escaped and caught up with Sara's mysterious contact and It was then that old Arnold made his appearance.
He says oh, he is the Sink Terminator who killed John 20 years ago, but he went rogue after completing his mission and since then he has become self-aware and that created a whole life for himself. He has a house, a wife, an adopted son, even a dog and him. His name is Carl. Have you ever wondered what a Terminator would do with himself if he actually completed his mission and had no one to kill? Did you ever wonder how or if he could somehow integrate into human society? How would you deal with the mundane reality of the day? -current human existence, what would he do as a daily job?
Could I form friendships? a personality hobbies could love either? because that's stupid it's goofy comedy material at best it's not the kind of thing you'd put in a supposedly serious action movie, but you'd never guess this movie was made by the director of Deadpool. Are terminators not supposed to live and work among humanity? Yes, they may possibly look human and handle basic interaction to get the information they need, but that's it. As always, t800 acknowledged this at the end of Terminator 2 when he said this: I know why you cry, but it's something I'll never be able to do, it was the movies way of telling us that no matter how much the Terminator could learn and understand BRIT behavior human could never be human itself but instead chose to end his life knowing his mission was complete and his purpose fulfilled but now here we are making jokes and trying to continue a story that should have ended 28 years ago God I hate . movies nowadays, so anyway old Arnold reveals that he was the one who gave Sarah the locations of the terminators to kill because he thought it would give him a purpose in life again instead of, you know, ending it in a violent way.
I guess we shouldn't think. too much about how he knew where they or the geniuses at Apple would be, especially since he came from a completely different timeline, so old Arnold agrees to help them and some generic teenage girl decides to put on her big girl pants and just like that she finishes running. I'm going to stand up and fight I'm done running I'm going to stand up and fight me and that made me physically squirm because it's like watching preschool or giving the Gettysburg Address, they find out they can use an EMP weapon to fry the genius at Apple. and permanently disable it so they go to a military base where some random guy meets with Sirit and hands him over.
Who exactly is this guy? How does sirrah taste? Why is he willing to hand over extremely dangerous military grade weapons like this? a group of people who are clearly extremely shady don't know anyway, the Apple genie shows up and chases the monster into a nearby plane and they temporarily escape, but the EMP device is destroyed in the process and eventually catches up to them and causes their plane . crash near a dam, so the final battle takes place in the dam's turbine room. Arnold and the androgynous thing attack him and eventually force him into one of the turbine units and it explodes and severely damages all three.
I don't know why this particular thing damages the Apple Genius so much because it's been shown to be basically indestructible up to this point, but anyway, whatever, the Apple Genius keeps showing up, so an androgynous thing says to a teenage girl generic that removes the energy unit from your body. because they'll fry the Apple Genius just like the EMP device, well it's just as well that this is where the generic teenager has her big hero moments as the ruined, smoking remains of the Apple Genius lurch towards her and she blasts it with a shotgun. blank range to stagger him, then hits him with a club to knock him down and is about to stuff the power source into his mouth, but then gets the upper hand and is about to kill her in return when Arnold comes back to life and finishes.
He tries to kill them both in the process and the movie ends with a generic teenager going to start a new life with the old Sarah Connor preparing for the coming war and teasing a sequel that will probably never be made and that's it, that's the plot. terminator Dark Fae For God's sake, there are so many things wrong with this movie that I could probably create a long video of monsters breaking them down scene by scene, but I'm too drunk and lazy for that, so let's keep this concise. To start with the characters, this film is the first time Linda Hamilton has played Sarah Connor in almost three decades and if you are a big fan of the classic Terminator films then I imagine this would be very exciting for you, the problem is that She doesn't really do anything significant in the entire movie, yes she has some heroic moments where she shoots guns in the chaotic action scenes but none of that really amounts to anything in terms of plot compared to so many mistakes and hybrids of machines fighting.
She looks weak and ineffective, she feels like a fifth wheel most of the time, just there in the background, making snarky comments and looking angry or confused. The only real character arc she has is with Arnold over John's death, but not even that. I'm not really going anywhere talking about Arnold. I suspected from the trailers that he wouldn't play a major role in this movie and well, I was right to be honest, it's hardly even recognizable as his most iconic role anymore, so maybe it's for the best for him. He is 72 years old, he has had multiple open heart surgeries and as a result he looks sluggish, tired and overweight.
This is made even worse because the script turns him into some kind of quasi-human and he takes full advantage of his ability to make deadpan jokes and he just feels stingy and disrespectful when he sacrifices himself to thefinal. I felt almost nothing because Arnold died in these movies more times than Sean Bean, the Terminator. He used to be a cool and menacing character, but now he seems like some kind of bad joke. included in this movie because well, it's a Terminator movie and it would feel weird without it and these two veteran actors are supposed to be very underused because they both still have decent charisma and screen presence, but you know who doesn't?
Danny Ramos is effectively the core of the story, the character around whom the destiny of humanity revolves, but we barely learn anything about her, we have no real idea of her personality, how she feels about all this, where our motivations lie. or ambitions, she reacts to things. and she lets herself be carried from one place to another and that's it. And I'll just say that the actress who played her was terribly wrong in this role. Linda Hamilton in Terminator 1 was able to grow and develop effectively over the course of the film, going from a scared and confused civilian to a tough, defiant and independent woman. she mother of the future in fact and you could believe it because she really sold it to you and that's even before she transformed into a real badass in so many or two, but a generic teenager is just a generic teenager who could be played by a pretty . almost no one, she can't act, she can't fight, she can't hold weapons properly, she doesn't command the screen in any way, and she inspires nothing except mild amusement, a move toward her as an ass-kicking leader. of human resistance is absolutely ridiculous because it is simply not credible in the slightest.
I didn't care because neither the script nor the actress made me care. The funny thing is that the androgynous thing actually turned out to be less of a disaster than me. As expected, there's certainly no Captain Marvel-esque smugness about her and I liked the fact that she's fast and powerful, but only in short bursts. The upgrades that allow her to fight so well are also slowly killing her, but just like with a generic teenager, we're never. If she's been given much information about who she is or how she believes living with a death sentence like this would probably weigh heavily on most people, but she also doesn't seem to mind coming from a nightmarish future of endless war to relative peace and prosperity of our country. the time would probably inspire sadness and longing, but again there is nothing of her, she just arrives here and continues with her mission as if nothing ever happens again.
I suspect the casting was miles away in this case, a genuine, smooth, intense and physically imposing actress probably could have done it. done a little more than with this character, but Mackenzie Davis spends most of this movie with the kind of Katy Perry deadpan stare that makes supposedly dramatic scenes look completely ridiculous. I suspect she was chosen because she's very tall and seems a little androgynous, but those things don't make an action hero remember quick searches for aliens, she wasn't that big and she was certainly still recognizably feminine, but she was believable as a tough-as-nails Marine. nails because the actress sold the performance, Davis just looks gangly and is awkward most of the time, cries over Hamilton and the teenager and visually looks a little stupid.
The feeling I get here is that, whether by necessity or design, there are too many characters and the strip doesn't really know what to do with all of them. The result is that the central story feels vague and unfocused. A script that simply focused on something androgynous and a generic teenage girl or Sarah and Arnold would have been much tighter and more effective in my opinion, but this is what happens when you try to do it. too much with too little trying to take advantage of the past and prepare for the future at the same time.
I looked up the credits for this film and there are no less than five different people responsible for the story and it is noted that I said in my review of the trailer that the Apple Genius was an unworthy adversary for our heroes since they have not seen the film. He is another shape-shifting terminator who can impersonate different people, although interestingly he almost never uses this ability to copy one of the main characters when it would clearly be beneficial. he at one point is even shown to be able to manifest a weapon in his hand but he never does it other than that and it made me wonder why I also have to wonder why they made him so much more human with his behavior.
Robert Patrick. t1000 was memorable because there was a creepy and strange way about him, from the strange running he did to the way he never blinked and the way he tilted his head slightly when he put his hand through someone; It was as if he was a little intrigued by the concept of pain and suffering and wanted to explore it further, the end result was a menacing, powerful and terrifying antagonist, a cold and ruthless machine but with the vague feeling that there was something even worse lurking behind her, but the Apple Genius just bland and generic.
I didn't feel intimidated by him in the slightest and I certainly didn't care what happened to him. I also didn't care much for the message of this movie, which seemed kind of cold and self-absorbed to the previous Terminator movies. have emphasized the strength of the strong, romantic bonds between the main characters, the things that make us so recognizable as humans compared to the cold calculating logic of the machines they faced, such as the growing love between Sarah and Kyle Reese in Germany, are one of Sara's maternal protective measures. of his son and s2, the romance between John and Kay in s3 and the salvation and even the revised love of Caillou and Sarah and Genesis love loyalty, sacrifice and the hope and protection of the next generation, these are all things that speak of universal human experiences, it is inspiring. and helps us remember that there are still noble qualities in humanity, showing our flaws and weaknesses, no, what do we get from a generic teenager and the revelation that she is not the mother of the leader of the human resistance, she is the leader of human resistance, keep that. message in mind protect and raise the next generation it doesn't matter you are all that matters here and now never has a movie more clearly highlighted the problem with our current culture you know it's funny because the prevailing debate about

dark

fate

isn't Yes It's a really good movie, the question is whether it's better or worse than Genesis.
To this I would say yes and no, it doesn't blatantly steal or destroy the series' timeline to the same extent that Genesis did and the action scenes feel more stage competent, but it also doesn't break new ground or do anything remotely creative or different and as we learn from ceremony or three, humor and ceremony or movies are two things that really shouldn't be mixed, talk with the hand, ultimately

dark

fate

is exactly what I predicted in a retread of The same story we've always had, replicating the same ideas and dealing with the same themes that the Terminator franchise has already covered more competently and effectively, and doing it all with the very obvious intention of starting a new trilogy that will almost certainly. will never happen and to be honest I totally agree that this is a story that has already been told and told well and now needs to end by talking about endings normally.
I'd end this review by telling Gore that we know, but in this case, I'm going to remember a movie that is actually Goods, unless Sarah Connor does the honors for me.
