Surprising my Mechanic with his Dream Car (SRT-10 Viper)

Dude, look at this, look at the driveshaft, we call it Daniel, tell the car, that's pretty crazy, you know, it's literally like a foot and a half long, it's really short, it's the whole jaw, it's like a sausage. These tires are, do you see? mm-hmm, they were made in 2008, no way, not eight, last 200, no way, dude, the last two numbers are what year, yeah, yeah, we definitely need to get some new wheels, new tires eight .years, should I go ahead and sort this intake and go to kN?

I intended to videotape this whole flood swapping everything, guys I'm sorry, yes we've all done it. I'm fascinated and looking, people have been stopping today and we've been looking at the whole car just because it's so different, there's nothing I've seen that's really like this, this is very interesting even though of course it's still a car , they're just minor differences, yeah, yeah, it's looking at the engineering behind everything that's really cool, just like Daniel and Doug were pointing out, there's like a little flap here and I guarantee you it's because they did it.

I don't want to have an airbag right there, so they wanted to have everything, even under the car, they paid attention to everything. This car probably loves us right now, it hasn't gotten any attention, so what you're telling me is that the Viper is what a normal written, what the hell, so check this out, we're changing the diploid, this is a , they are all pieces of metal. I came out of that diff but we're still going to fill it with fluid if we're going to give this car away I definitely don't want to leave that drop there so we're going to have to change the diff but I figure we could also do something cool to get that diff out of the blowout if it was already leaking Dude, there might be something different about my need to look up the filling procedure, but yeah, it looks like you can get a fourteen thousand mile dive or so for about $1,500 in boats, so that's not horrible.

I guess anything related to snakes will be expensive, but oh well, I say. One thing that is good is that this differential seems extremely easy to change, the driveshaft is just four bolts, right there you slide the driveshaft forward. I mean, it's a swipe that you'll set up based on trends so you can just swipe it. go ahead release the volt axle right here on the front two bolts back here on the side obviously take out the axles but after that the whole div pretty much falls into place yeah but just hold it down for a second there's a plug Upstairs I'll also try to see if I can fill it from the top, well we'll look to make sure but I just wanted to drain the plugs to fill them, now it's crazy, yeah I wanted to learn. by test and then we will look at it and see before we ship it or something, yes they are expensive, yes, but there are much more expensive parts that could come out, like a GT 350 Union, yes, like a GT 350 engine, that's all. for those of you who have no idea what we're talking about, we bought the GT 350 in the same situation similar to the Viper, we didn't think it was going to have any problems and we got it back at home and after further investigation after we took The cat came out of the car, we saw a lot of smoke, we couldn't understand why Ranek's compression tests failed.

With no compression one of the cylinders separated the engine and discovered there was this on the cylinder wall so it really sucked we had to do it. Send that engine go get one completely shrouded and built and then we ended up with twin turbos on the car and I got a lot of power and it's been fun ever since yeah so it could have been a lot worse I will say it looks like it's going to be a very solid car built, so I can't imagine there being that many problems. I am sure that many will correct us, there are many, many. things about this car we're probably saying wrong, whatever, just understand we're not professionals, we're not Viper experts by any means, in fact I know next to nothing about Vipers except for the donut media video I saw that it was like my crash course on Vipers before we decided to buy this just because I like not being able to be an expert on something. I like being able to buy a car like this and start on the new platform and learn mistakes and stuff like that and I think that's what people misunderstand about watching these videos.

The reason it's fun at least for me is because we can get into these new cars, we can get into different types of cars, different platforms, different engines and it's a lot of fun to be able to just learn about them instead of acting like an expert. in every thing. Just, yeah, that's cool, but I'd rather show you the mistakes we make, the fixes, the things that break. It would be completely boring. If we showed that things are going well all the time it's because people get angry all the time in the comments on videos and all that and say that you guys don't have a job and you just lose your mind.

Hey, this is coming up about a month and a half away, two and a half months ago, well, we changed all the pictures under the car, got it back on the ground, now take the oil cap off completely. put it somewhere where it won't fall into the abyss of this ten-cylinder engine compartment and put our little funnel in there, so even though it's an older engine, it has 50,000 miles on it, but we'll use a zinc additive just to keep everything protected , you guys have seen us use this on new engines every time we break them in, but again, we don't know what the history or lifespan of this car is or anything like that, so it won't hurt. anything cameras to say no coyote we have a camera here it looks like a baseball bat it's probably that long are we trying to figure it out?

I really love him so much. I'll be honest, like it's been bothering me. I really just want to hear this so that way you can pull out a camera, okay? I mean a camper with seating if it's on. Hey, look, I don't see what capacity a 2006 Dodge Viper has that you can win with, it only has six dot coms. for only $10, oil capacity, ten point four quarts, yeah honestly I think we should use this as a giveaway car and then in a few months, seriously, maybe in a year, looking like a block built with 5th generation twin turbo Piper as just the nastiest fiberfill ever, I was surprised to ogle, the twin turbo, look for me and Viper me too, yes I understand you're upset about that, you think I'm not angry.

I have a I had to go get this damn thing knowing that we I have to give it away that sucks for me too so this is called the Ranger method it's a little primitive but on cars like this and if they have a concentric slave inside it's hydraulic, it cannot be accessed because there is no purge. So what you do is kind of a roundabout trick: you suck it out using a turkey baster like that and fill it with a new liquid pump, you do the same thing and eventually you'll get a nice, clean, consistent liquid.

Use a new brake. fluid here eske tools for the wind give yourself a nice little trim. I'm going to try to leave the GoPro on my head and see if I can show you what it's like to go inside this weird thing that you see here, there's this. it's like the door, you get down like probably six inches into the car, that's why I was saying the floor of the car is almost on the ground, you get down and then you can see why it means it's all about this thing. It's so strange that I wonder what the angle of the pendant looks like here.

Can you see it pretty well? If so, maybe it is possible to make driving videos in this car. If you can see like this, ready, silent, it's a muscle car. unfortunately it's one of the rougher ones with a v10, you only see the oil pressure gauge, you hear the valve train noise, it's actually much quieter now, every time we opened the hood with the engine running it made a good clicking and clicking whatever but I read on the forums that once you put a little thicker oil in it actually calms it down and we use a little thicker well this car requires 0w 40 we put 540 in there and only with a very small change.

You can already hear that it is a much quieter valve train. I'm going to turn it off real quick so we can check the oil. Oh my god, this is amazing. I just kicked a lot of don't talk anyway. Take this to the blog, just check everything now that we have changed all the fluids, especially in the rear differential, that's what I'm worried about. I want to know if we're going to hear a thud or something, but oh well. I don't hear the same clunking noise that the rear differential transfers as it also shifts a little more smoothly, so I think the timing is probably a good idea.

This thing is an amazing car, thank God it's cool. Bring on the Vipers Instagram page and this. a little design above our heads called a double bubble that came out with it. I assumed it was correct, they used, they did this so that that way you have space to put helmets inside the car. You really don't even have much of a say when you drive this thing it's like it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to even see one much less drive one much less own it much less be able to give it to someone else it's really cool oh sick friend oh there's another Viper up there oh that's the look of the three models of Oh Oh baby

s, well we had to do a little check up after we finished changing everything and it definitely feels like a completely different car, all the noises we heard on the way home They're gone, oh man, that painting, man.

Man oh man, I'm going to cry when we have to give this away. That's the unfortunate part about us giving away such nice cars all the time. It's just that every time we drink wine, I guess there's so much attachment to it that I just don't do it. I want to give it away, but it's one of those things where the only reason I can drive cars like this is because of you, you guys haven't allowed me to drive cars that I would have never ever thought of.
