This is New York. this is Palm Beach this is California this is Paris this is London this is wherever Epstein landed he needed to have girls on constant call in every state or every place he goes he already has people lined up and creators making it happen none of this would be seen the light of day if it weren't for Virginia boss, her accusations of sexual abuse against Epstein Maxwell and the famous Prince Andrew have fascinated and rejected the world in 2015 Virginia sued Maxwell for defamation.

These last documents are in the main affidavits compiled for that case it is difficult it is very difficult to be back here we met Virginia 5 years ago when she bravely returned for the first time to the epain Mansion in Manhattan I was abused by people I can't even name here there are many scars hidden behind those walls. It should be torn down and I should be burned to the ground. Some of my worst memories are from this place. I continue to be shocked by how horrible this story is and the harm that was done to these women. it is incredibly difficult to even express this it has completely changed their lives it is incredibly unfair that this has been allowed to happen with impunity for so long Luchia Osborne Crowley is a journalist and author who has long covered the epin case and believes that the importance of the may exaggerate the new Epstein

files

, it's really important that we understand the difference between having these accusations floating around and seeing that people were willing to swear to them under penalty of perjury, it's an incredibly difficult thing to do and everyone was willing to do it. and to swear the truth, Luchia also had a front row seat when victims testified against Epstein co-conspirator Galen Maxwell when she was convicted of sex trafficking in 2022, much of which Jeffrey Epin got away with, uh, he wouldn't have done it.
I was able to do without her helping to recruit boyfriends and attract underage girls, but she was not only the organizer, she was also an abuser, yes, so we also heard at trial from several victims that she was in the room when the abuse was occurring and that she herself participated in the abuse, but documents released by the

court

highlighted the role played by others in Jeffrey Epstein's inner sanctum. The most controversial revelation comes from emails sent by Sarah Ransom, who was abused and trafficked by Epstein. those emails claim she watched video recordings made by Epstein of an anonymous friend having sex with Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew and Richard Branson, all three men vehemently refute the allegation and in the past even Sarah denied the existence of the tapes , but only two weeks ago.
She stood by her original claim on a Zoom call with Good Morning Britain. It's no secret that everything was recorded. I've also seen recordings in her office. There are videos that exist and people who know they exist. I'm sure they are very afraid of them. Fear of being released may also explain the resounding silence of others

named

in this recent massive release of documents based on thousands of pages of affidavits from women abused by Epstein. The men now making headlines are potential Witnesses. They place them in the places where the abuse occurred. commonly occurred in the vast majority um including all the names we hear the most there are no accusations of criminality um they are simply listed as Potential Witnesses if they are not being accused of any crime why have they been named in the question? it's what they saw, who they met, what questions were asked about why girls that age would be in any of Epstein's homes and if questions weren't asked about that, why weren't questions asked about that, the documents too.
To shed light on Epstein's alleged dark motivation for sex trafficking to dirty some of the world's most influential people, there is for the first time the idea that he was interrogating the girls he sent to famous people to get details of what happened for blackmail purposes. There has always been a suspicion that this man had cameras everywhere and kept blackmail tapes, that was his influence, so I heard about Jeffrey Epstein on the Upper East Side Grapevine social in New York for a couple of years in late the 1990s and early 2000s, you know he was a mysterious figure in the sense that all people really knew about him was that, out of nowhere, he was known to be unconventional, people thought that he was very handsome and the only thing people really knew about him.
The connector to the outside world was someone he knew: Gillen Maxwell with her connection to English socialite Galen Maxwell Vicky Ward was the ideal journalist to profile Jeffrey Epstein. Her assignment in 2002 was to investigate the man behind my then-boss's $500 million fortune. At Vanity Fair magazine, Gren Carter called me and said, "You know, I've been hearing about this guy for years, no one knows who he is, where he got his money, what his deal is and that's how it all started, but what It started out as a The story of the business quickly turned sinister. He liked to have parties with young women, but since he was very

rich

at the time, you know, a handsome bachelor in his 50s, that didn't seem so peculiar in itself, but then I met this woman Maria Farmer and she told me that she had worked for Jeffrey EP.
No one immediately realized how important Maria Farmer would be in the Epstein story. Certainly not the authorities when in 1996 she was the first. in reporting Jeffrey Epstein and Galen Maxwell to the FBI, Gilan came to pick me up one night, Gilan walks me to Jeffrey's room and he's laying there and he's fine here, sit down, you know, right next to him and then Gilan sits down. sit on the other side and they started attacking me, but in reality while I was lying there the whole time. I thought my sister had been with these people. My sister was 16 years old.
She has been alone with them. Mary's fears were well founded. Her younger sister, Annie, had also been abused by a fellow pedophile and it was the worst thing that ever happened to her. It never happened to me, but in a pattern that would be established for decades to come. Maria's complaint of sexual abuse against her and Annie to the police was ignored, they just kept everything quiet, put it in the bottom drawer and are so dismissive that I just felt. daunted and stopped for more than 25 years Maria Farmer has been filling her canvas with the Epstein Story, a horror story that began in 1995 when, as a GI student at the New York Academy of Art, she met Jeffrey Epstein and Galen Maxwell was given a job by Epstein to buy art for his New York mansion and also became an unwitting witness to a constant flow of teenagers and young women through Epstein's front door and, surprisingly, had direct evidence that Maxwell He was looking for girls for the unsociable millionaire.
What did you witness so many times? times um, I would be in the car with her and she would ask the driver to stop the car and she would run to school or the park or wherever she was and she would like to write down her phone number for a little boy. girl and then I would see that girl at the house and she would say that they were auditioning, you know. I found a model in the park and I thought it was very strange because I saw a couple of girls with braces and you've never seen a model with braces.
Do you reflect on how different life would be for so many women today if the FBI had investigated your complaints in 1996? Yes Yes. I think about it all the time I do it and it hurts so much and I've never done it before. children because she didn't feel they were safe, it would be another 6 years before the farm sisters would again consider speaking openly about their experiences with Jeffrey Epstein when they met with journalist Vicky Ward in 2002. Maria and Annie were Did you have a hard time convince them to open up to you to speak publicly?
There's no doubt that they were very afraid of these very powerful people and I felt that at least Vanity Fair magazine was powerful for us too. publish their accusations that would give them protection, so I think we all proceeded under that premise and unfortunately that premise blew up in the worst possible way, what blew up, what happened well, what happened as this piece progressed and I had to finally put all the accusations both from the company staff to the farmers to Jeffrey and Galen, they in their different ways went completely crazy. Epstein was instantly threatening, a man prepared to intimidate and intimidate to save himself, he treated the whole thing like a game. really dark twisted game, he even told me at the beginning, okay, let's play chess, I will be black, you will be white, you will make the first move and from there it all descended into a kind of horrible game of cat and mouse, he called me all the days. and then he told me that if he didn't like what he was going to write, his witch doctor was going to curse my unborn children and that that was off the record, then he told me that he was going to sue me. and ruin me personally and I was really scared of what this man could do, so even though the threats he was making against you were pretty absurd, you took it seriously like you, you were really scared, yeah, because at the end of it all This in After months of researching and getting to know the farm sisters, there was still this question mark over who this guy is, but it only got worse when Epstein paid a personal visit to Vicki's boss at the time Vanity Fair's editor-in-chief Epstein got the result he demanded from Maria and Annie Farmer's accusations were removed from the story that went to print in late 2002, so the journalist who uncovered these accusations and convinced these sisters to go public with them, what was your reaction to seeing that your work was not in your article?
I remember bursting into tears and saying directly to the person who is directly my editor, we have exposed these poor women. I mean, this is unscrupulous, was it also a reflection of an abuse of power? I mean, if Jeffrey walked into the editor and chief's office there, of course, 2002. It was an era when Jeffrey Epstein and other predators you know, Harvey Weinstein, were running the world and women everywhere weren't talking about the idea that two men would have a meeting after which these accusations would be dropped. I mean, you know, in the world we live in now, you know, it's monstrous.
Vicky's boss, Gren Carter, denies beinginfluenced or intimidated by Epstein, but either way, the Vanity Fair story fell short of exposing the depths of Epstein's depravity. I only got the very, very, very. With the tip of that Iceberg I did not reach the den of iniquity that we now know was really happening behind the closed walls of Jeffrey Epstein in the Mansion in New York and on his Island and in Palm Beach around that mansion, that is where it is part of sex trafficking ring actually came to life Palm Beach, Florida, is home to some of the richest people in America, an exclusive enclave for the rich and powerful, including former President Donald Trump.
Jeffrey Epstein's luxurious home graced the beach with its white walls and inscrutable exterior. hiding A Dark Truth a place where it is estimated that over 100 girls were deceived and abused their lives changed in an instant at 14 I was still in high school I was straight One student didn't even make it I played the first chair trumpet. I was captain of the cheer team and then after I met Jeffrey I quit completely. This is where you lived for a while. Yes, this is where I lived when I met Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein was 48 years old when he was a teenager.
Courtney Wild came into her orbit in 2001, when she lived in this trailer park, one of the poorest communities in West Palm Beach. Do you think Jeffrey Epstein targeted areas like this? Yes, he definitely targeted kids like me who were vulnerable to him and his money. and um, we felt like he was helping us and saving us when ultimately he was just praying for us. As Colney told me in 2019, her experience began when another 14-year-old boy took her to the millionaire to earn much-needed money. She had set the trap, what did you expect to happen? Why did you think you would come here?
Well, I knew he would come here to give a guy a massage and win $200. Yes, I knew it. They never told me. This man would sexually abuse me or something inside. Courtney soon discovered that the massage was a cover for Terri's terrible and well-rehearsed crime. They took us upstairs, it was like a circular staircase that led to a hallway that led to her bedroom, where the massage table was in the bathroom of her room, you know, she asked us to get comfortable, only we took off our clothes to be in our BR panties. If you abused yourself during that session, then we would massage him for about 30

minutes

and then whenever he was around.
Ready, you know, I turned around and asked the person who brought me to come down and wait and once that happened, that's when the sexual abuse happened. Yes, you are 14 years old and in a completely strange situation, an incomprehensible position of how you reacted. I just remember afterwards how I felt going down the stairs and I felt so dirty and so um like a part of me had been dirty. I felt like it was like my dirty little experience in Virginia's Jewish phase was eerily similar, except for its recruiter. was not a fellow teenager, but the sophisticated and apparently trustworthy Galen Maxwell Virginia was 16 years old and working at Donald Trump's Maral Lago Resort when Maxwell spied her reading a textbook on massages, seemed very friendly and said: I have a person who I know it's actually I'm looking for a traveling masseuse and if you want I can get you an interview with him, if he likes you, we can educate you, you will be a real masseuse and you can travel and see the world, and you know.
She made it sound like it was a dream come true and it wasn't within hours that Virginia was at Epstein's Florida mansion lured there by Maxwell's promise, it ended in a devastating sexual attack, so put it this way, we turned his back on him, we turned his back to Epstein and then when he turned around, that's when I was ordered to strip naked and have sex with Jeffrey Epstein while Gilan m participated too, do you want to take a moment. I'm fine, I'm fine, so they both abused you in your first meeting, yes, with both of them, Gilan and Epstein abused me.
I don't want to sound sexist in any way, but I expected it from a man but I didn't expect it from a woman and um yeah, I think that's what hurts the most. Maxwell's role as Epstein's accomplice for which he is now serving a 20-year prison sentence is well known, but it actually turned out well. Beyond Maxwell, the pair hatched a plan to feed Epstein's appetite. They lured poor girls with cash. Fueling their dreams of a better life, according to journalist Luchia Osborne Crowley, when the sexual abuse began, many were too committed to their promises to achieve them.
We found that this was a well-oiled machine of finding vulnerable young girls who really needed someone to take care of them, and then also using those girls to try to ensnare younger and younger girls and a lot of that seems to have developed in Florida. Girls, do you think you brought Jeffrey Epstein at least 50, but between 50 and 70 girls and what were their ages? Same ages as me, um 14 15 16. I just have a lot of guilt and shame for doing those things and just knowing that I had some influence on that happening to someone else, you just know, it really is just devastating and it breaks my heart. .
Epstein's dastardly pyramid scheme might have continued unchecked if it weren't for the stepmother of one of his teenage victims calling Palm Beach police. Department in 2005 was an incident that occurred maybe three and a half weeks ago when one of my stepdaughters found out that it ended up that they went to Palm Beach to a gentleman's house and started giving this gentleman a massage and he pays them if he likes them and he thinks they're pretty enough, he keeps them around to do other things, so I wasn't really sure if there was an investigation or if you guys had any word, well, I need.
This is the first I've heard that the initial call was so alarming that police launched an investigation and it didn't take them long to discover the sickening scale of Epstein's network. Did Jeff know someone's true age or did he just not care? I don't think he cared, he told me that it was better that the young man asked me to take off my shirt, so I took off my shirt, are you okay, so were you in BR or were you topless? I didn't, yes I ended up being toppers, yes he started to get a little excited about it and started touching himself during the massage, did he ask you to take off your pants or did he?
Police interviewed a staggering 40 victims ranging in age from 13 to 16. Their accounts were shocking enough, but what they found in Epstein's home was a horrifying glimpse into his depraved life. Dozens of nude photos, a steam room and a massage room with sex toys. Among the damning evidence were phone message pads. which clearly showed a trade in young girls scheduling massage appointments and flight logs listing girls transported aboard Jeffy's. private plane called Lolita Express. I think it's really important to know that it's actually a lot worse than we think. In 2006, to the relief of the police, this Predator was finally captured.
A great deal of evidence from a teacher against him, but his own great wealth. and his immense influence saw him escape charges that should have put him in prison for life. Instead, he served 13 months in Air when prosecutors accepted his guilty plea to the lesser charge of soliciting a child for prostitution, but while he was technically an inmate in Palm Beach. County Stockade, he really just slept there, it was essentially a slap in the face. He got a 12-hour prison job every day. Other journalists have described it as him basically having to sleep in a shitty motel for, you know, a little over a year.
For many, the most scandalous part of Epstein's plea deal was a sordid agreement he reached with the attorney general of the Southern District of Florida that gave Epstein and any alleged co-conspirators, known or unknown, immunity from further prosecution. supposedly by AI where still none of their victims were told about the treatment, how do they feel about being sexually abused by a man and the government knowing about it and then actually knowing, co-cspiring with the perpetrator to make sure nothing happens to him? It's just what it seems. unreal why do you think the government did that? My personal opinion on this is that you know the power of money and I think there were a lot of people involved in this underage sex ring that they were running and I think they all wanted it to go away.
So you think there was a conspiracy at play here. Oh absolutely, it really is a neat story. Everything that happened in Florida and the fact that the authorities did know that they arrested him, they charged him and he was still able to continue and according to Virginia du. But the abuse didn't stop with Jeffrey Epstein and Galen Maxwell, she wasn't just his sex game, she was now part of his international sex trafficking ring lent to whoever they wanted. I was trafficked to other billionaires. I was trafficked to politicians. Professors, even royalty, were the elite of the world, they were the people who run the world, they were the most powerful people in the world.
GM was a very exotic sort of glamorous figure who used to appear and, to be honest, his name was mentioned a lot. of famous names she had been dating, we heard about Bill Clinton and all sorts of other people and we also knew that she was very good friends with Prince Andrew and that Jeffrey Epstein sometimes invited Prince Andrew to stay as The British journalist expert on New York Vicky Ward moved in similar circles to socialite Galen Maxwell, the daughter of disgraced media mogul Robert Maxwell following the suspicious death of her father aboard his boat in 1991.
Galen moved to New York, where She began her relationship with millionaire Jeffrey. Epstein in 2002, Vicki was assigned to write a profile of the mysterious financier for Vanity Fair magazine. When I started reporting on this article, I ran into Gillan Maxwell and happily said, oh Galen, yes, I'm writing this story about Jeffrey and money. and it really surprised me when she started crying. I wondered why this woman is crying. This doesn't seem to make any sense. Well, obviously I didn't know. I didn't know that, from her perspective, she was probably in danger. of pulling back the curtain on what was an absolutely horrific criminal sexual enterprise involving both Epstein and Maxwell congratulating each other perfectly he had the money she was used to she had the contacts he wanted the highest profile of course it was the prince Andrew who is famous for abusing Virginia, who was 17 at the time, je fre at the invitation of Epstein and Maxwell we went to the club and he danced with me and he sweats a lot and smells funny um and then and then we got in the car and um Elan me He says in the car that I have to do what I do for Jeffrey for Prince Andre and that's when I knew what was going to happen there's a little problem with with with with with sweat um because it was a claim and counterattack The statement that turned upside down up the life of this royal The advised decision to appear on the BBC in 2019 left him, if not sweating, then red-faced.
His attempt to convince us that he knew nothing about teenage Virginia backfired when this photo taken in 2001 at Maxwell's London apartment. resurfaced she provided a photo of you two together yes how do you explain I can't because I don't have no, again I have absolutely no memory of that photo ever being taken your friend suggested the photo is fake I think it's a Based on the research we have done, it cannot be proven whether that photograph is fake or not because it is a photograph of a photograph of a photograph, so it is very difficult to prove it. but I don't remember that photo being taken, so as you know, Prince Andrew denies the allegations against him and says that this photo is fake, that he was never there and that he is not his arm or his fingers. . those are his fingers, that's Andrew.
This photo has been verified as original and he has since given it to the FBI and they have never questioned that it is fake and I know it is real and he needs to stop with all these lame excuses that we. You're sick of hearing it. This is a real photo and that was the first time you did it and that is the first time I met him and that was right before he abused me. How many times were you trafficked to him? Three times. His accusations against him. Prince Andrew is exposed in newly revealed court documents.
The disgraced royalty is mentioned 69 times and not just by Virginia. Johanna Scherg, who was 21 at the time, claims to have had her own traumatic experience with Prince Andrew and says she saw the prince and Virginia together at the Epstein Mansion in New York, according to British-based Australian author Luchia Osborne. Crowley, his account given under oath condemns the prince. We also have an allegation from a separate victim, Johanna, who said she was groped by Prince Andrew. that is incredibly significant because we have sworn testimony from a second person corroborating that he participated in illegal acts involving minors.
Do you expect Prince Andrew to come under more legal scrutiny? I think certainly Prince AndrewYou will face many, many more questions given. What we've learned in these new uh documents and it's really important. I think authorities need to look at the fact that there is a second person who alleges he broke the law and whether they need to talk to those victims and other potential victims. to see if there is anything they can or should accuse him of. I wonder if you now have any feelings of guilt, regret or shame for your behavior and your friendship with epon in regards to my association with him.
I had um uh some seriously beneficial results in areas that have nothing or nothing to do with what I would describe what we're talking about today. Prince Andrew has since repented, but he continues to deny all accusations that have been made against him. He settled with Virginia du FR on the eve of his civil trial in 2022, reportedly for more than $15 million. By settling with her, the prince probably thought the saga was over, but the release of these latest documents once again raises questions for him and many other Epstein associates. These are very, very rich and powerful people and so far they have escaped without being asked many questions.
Billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested on charges of sex trafficking involving underage girls and could face up to 45 years behind bars. He was a prized catch in 2019, the roar around Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking ring so loud that police were forced to act in a manner befitting the lifestyle of a jet-setting millionaire. Epstein was caught on his private plane as he landed back to the US from Paris for his most outspoken victim, Virginia du FR. His arrest was a gift that took more than 20 years to develop. I never thought it would happen. I honestly thought he would keep getting his way over and over again, just like she demonstrated so many times, um, so yeah.
It was like Christmas in July in a big way, but the expectation that Epstein would finally face his crimes was dashed when he was found dead by suicide in his jail cell a month later, disgraceful financier Jeffrey Epstein took his own life, the explosive development that raised many new questions with Epstein dead, charges against him dismissed, denying justice to his many victims and his co-conspirator, British socialite Galen Maxwell became the world's most wanted woman while on the run, so That the idea arose that this woman might be involved in something. As depraved and horrifying as this was mind-blowing as journalist Vicky Ward and the rest of the world watched in Fascination Galen was tracked down in a luxurious New Hampshire Hideway after eluding police for a year, today we announce the arrest of one of the villains in This investigation, this day for me has been like one of the best days of my life.
I haven't stopped smiling and crying tears of happiness and just saying, yes, I am elated to know that she is where she belongs immediately after the Maxwell, Virginia arrest. She spoke for all victims of the sex trafficking ring. She ruined so many lives. She should be in jail. You want to hurt children. That's where you'll be going in 2022. Maxwell was found guilty of five counts of sex trafficking. The then 60-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years in prison. jail, filed an appeal that will be reviewed in March and continues to claim his innocence from jail, as he told his brother Kevan Maxwell, everyone always asked who is the real G, who is the real Gillan, he is definitely not the person who portrays.
I feel completely divorced. from the person that people refer to and talk about and said the biggest misconception about you is that I'm the cruelest, yeah, and I mean, I literally haven't seen any details that are accurate. Luchia Osborne Crowley was one of the few journalists granted court access to report on Maxwell's trial. It was surprising that even in her own federal sex trafficking trial she didn't seem to have much humility and yet she had incredible confidence and I certainly got the feeling that she didn't expect to be convicted and certainly No remorse certainly No remorse, she basically said she was sorry for the harm Jeffrey Epstein had caused them and that's all she said with Maxwell behind bars and Epstein dead, this case seemed be resolved, but the recent release of these court documents shows how little we still know that there are so many names that we are left with question marks about what their appeal was.
Why did some of the most powerful men in the world come to him? What was Bill Gates doing with Jeffrey Epstein? I would love to hear from Bill. Clinton, what she saw in Jeffrey Epstein and what it would be great to know In total, more than 150 names have been linked to the disgraced millionaire, but apart from some denials of any wrongdoing, the silence of those identified has been deafening, we have evidence of sworn testimony. where people named very, very powerful people who would have potentially been in a position to do something about what was going on here, and instead we had a sex trafficking ring that lasted for at least two decades, possibly three, with almost total impunity , etc.
So that's the point I think we all need to hold on to about scale here: not the touch of these names, but how many there are, how many people there are that the victims pointed to to say this person can corroborate my story. this person may be a witness this person met me on the island this person saw me and those are very, very rich and powerful people and so far they have escaped without being asked many questions, we would have to assume that they are just running away from this so far and as fast as they can, yeah, well, I mean, I've been quite surprised by the silence over the last few weeks, if I'm completely honest, I would have thought that at least some of these people would have felt obliged to give some explanations, at least the association with Jeffrey Epstein raises questions of judgment.
No one looks good for having been with Jeffrey Epstein, now knowing everything we know about whether or not they should be held accountable. as to whether or not there was criminal activity and obviously we don't know, I know, one has to hope that as we now know so much more and there is so much public scrutiny on this, the wheels of Justice will turn in a way that they definitely don't. did for a long time, the legacy of Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell is to expose a darkness too terrible to imagine, but as difficult as it is to understand, it seems there is even more to reveal.
What I know is that there are more people who are not even on this list who knew or potentially participated in what was happening around Jeffrey Epstein. Do you expect others to be charged and others to face prosecution? I hope so much. I think so. It's really important to know that it's actually a lot worse than we think and that we feel comfortable accepting it. Hi, I'm Tara Brown, thanks for watching 60 Minutes Australia.
