The case takes a scary turn we were all standing in the garage and my partner noticed that this seemed a little out of place and he opened it and he could see there was a lot of plastic in there and he kind of pushed it and he could feel a little present and he said: Doesn't that seem good to me? The detectives cut the plastic and find that it will sicken the most experienced investigators inside the bag where the remains of Tara's clove grant at least part of it. her torso from her neck to the top of her thighs on her back she had on her bra panties and part of the pants she had been wearing Tara Grant was dead and part of her was in her own garage .
My first thought was that his feeling wasn't We Got Him, but was Stephen acting alone? Stephen Grant is on the run. His

wife

The search for Stephen Grant is underway. The FBI is invading the state preparing a raid.
In full pursuit of him, a suicidal Stephen borrows a friend's car and heads north into the frigid Michigan night. He makes this meandering trip across the state of Michigan and remembers that he and Tara used to camp at Wilderness State Park as he heads there. Stephen arms himself with alcohol tablets, razor blades and something else. He bought a toy gun thinking that if he had a gun in his hand and pointed it at the police, they would shoot him after driving for hours. Desperate Steven does. some final calls and writes goodbye letters to his two young children, he knew he was not going to win, he was right, his vehicle is located in the park and they found it under the tree, he had extreme hypothermia, semi-conscious, he was seeing people and talking to the trees and he was in pretty bad shape, they transported him by plane.

Stephen says it all started in his room when Tara was unpacking her work trip and he was naked getting ready for bed and a fight. about Terra's busy work and travel schedule, the argument quickly escalates Tara slaps him, then Stephen hits her, she fell, oh, hits her head on the floor and then said something like, okay, I'm a kid big, enraged, Stephen does the unthinkable finally grabbed my hand at one point it was too late Stephen continues to strangle Tara she was looking him in the eyes and he was fighting with him and he grabbed a piece of clothing and put it on her face to that he didn't do it.
I have to see why he was killing her after more than four minutes of cruelly strangling the life of her wife. Tara Grant is dead and then with her young children sleeping just two feet away. She wrapped a belt around her neck. I think she was my brown. leather belt I know I couldn't carry her, so I wrapped it around her neck and used it to hold her down the stairs. Still naked, Stephen drags Tara's

body

to the freezing garage where he struggles to get her into the back of her own truck. I dropped the disgusting sound of it, it just sounded like dropping the watermelon on cement.
Then I knew that I had killed. Stephen finally puts her in the truck, puts her in the back of her truck, closes the door, and returns to her house moments later. Verena, the family nanny with whom he had flirted, walks through the door. Stephen quickly dresses and then tells her the story he made up: he and Tara fought and she abandoned him. He wanted the babysitter to feel sorry for him right now she was playing. what oh my wife has left me a card so Stephen starts a plan to cover his tracks he started doing things like calling his wife's cell phone and leaving messages knowing of course that her

body

was in the family garage the next day Stephen's plan He takes a terrifying turn after saying goodbye to his children, drives Tara's car with her body in the back to his father's machine shop, places a pile of tarps on the floor, removes her body, places her on top and begins to dismember it. tears hands to the next joint and the next joint and the same with his legs and how cute - what a surprisingly barbaric act I just said to myself look if you don't do this you will go to prison to rest your life and when Steven is done, he wraps the

parts

of the body in plastic and fill a large plastic container to the brim with Tara.
I put everything, I think it's a newspaper in there, please, at one point there was some blood, but it's very real, particularly like a syrup, so you had Tara's entire body. One in a Rubbermaid container early the next morning. Stephan grabs his son's sled and heads to snowy Stoney Creek Park while he stands on a hill. Steven puts the container on top of the sled, but before he knows it, you know I'm chasing this sled. He kind of has a body down the hill and I finally stopped him when he fell, he broke those pieces but he rolls fast.
Steven eventually gathers Tara's mutilated body

parts

and buries them around the park. Steven brought Tara's body and her remains to this area. here and he hoped that the wildlife and within the park would eat the remains and therefore the bones of the dream, whichthen it would make it a little easier to avoid detection, not that that would be her final resting place, he moved her multiple times to multiple locations. I've done a very, very bad job of hiding everything that's there on the elephant because of the way he was giving us his confession. It was like he was just telling a story, he would laugh, he would joke, he didn't show any remorse, it was just Los Tom's story detectives also learned from Stephen what led to their big break when they found Tara's torso in the family garage.
It turns out that when Steven heard that there was going to be a large-scale search in the park, he panicked fearing that the poorly hidden torso would be easily found. first he took it out of the park then he took it to his father's

business

and put it on top of the office area up there it stayed there for about a day and at that time he moved it because he was afraid it would start to smell bad and then that's when he took it to his garage, but that's also when the detectives showed up with that search warrant.
Our timing was right. Fortunately for us, he had just moved her torso there the night before investigators finally located most, but not all, of Tara's remains. They thought there were 14 pieces but they only recovered 11 and they also found some of the saw. Blades that Stephen used We recovered some with some tears still in the flesh Detectives now know that Stephen Grant committed this despicable act by himself The babysitter had nothing to do with it With that nine months after Grant is arrested for the brutal murder of his wife the case goes to trial and after three weeks of testimony Stephen Grant is found guilty of second degree murder and mutilation of a corpse.
He is sentenced to between 50 and 80 years. She certainly didn't deserve to die like this. Andrea Billups co-wrote a book about Tara's murder. She called it a murder in the suburbs and she says that while justice has technically been served, no punishment can replace what has been lost. I think the great sadness of this case was obviously for these children who were born six years at the time this murder occurred, so now they had lost their mother and their father was going to go to prison for what will undoubtedly mean the rest of his life. It's just an enormous tragedy.
