Alright guys, it's the next day and our speckle spray is all dry. I'll sand it with 220 grit on a foam backing and get it nice and smooth to the touch. Keep in mind that stone spray dries a little rough, you can feel that texture. so just grab your sander and smooth it out good. I am going to apply a clear stone countertop coat with epoxy. I'm going to apply two coats at three ounces per square foot, one coat that will cover that texture and a second coat to add. depth and durability, this also gives my edges some buildup, so I don't feel any roughness on those edges.

I'm going to do this by first mixing the epoxy in a one to one ratio and then I'm going to remove it with a trowel. our 1 8 by 1 8 square notched trowel after that, I'll cut the surface and then burn it to remove the bubbles. I will repeat the same system the next day to get that clear coat if you are going to in place over existing countertops follow those same steps and if you haven't seen our video on how to prepare like a pro watch now you know it's amazing how well it It looks without any layer of stone on the surface, but wait until you pour it, it really gives it that stone look, it imitates a solid surface, it imitates Corian, let me know what you think of this process.
Can it be easier? Remove any loose bristles from the brush before cutting it and applying primer. Just wet the brush so you don't start lifting the epoxy where you start cutting. Pro Tips When cutting the surface, do it randomly. You don't want to make lines, just do it randomly, but make sure to cut. entire surface, this also helps blend the material and eliminates any trowel lines you may have caused by troweling away the stone epoxy layer. Now that I have a saturated brush, I'm going to go ahead and brush these edges with long horizontal strokes. I also pushed any material over those edges by cutting it right to the edge, so you want to finish by spreading those beads with long horizontal strokes along those edges for a smooth finish.
It's okay to burn any of the bubbles. on the surface I'm just using a propane torch, you can use a heat gun, even a hair dryer, but I like the propane torch because it's quick and effective, okay, let's let this dry, it's a little uneven, I have a little bit of high spots from that texture spray and that's okay, my coat tomorrow will be completely spread like glass, we'll let this dry and see you later, hey, what's up, everyone here, Luc, with countertops stone cladding? There is random runoff epoxy from other projects coming off the tools. I see a small splinter of wood here. I'm going to use a little acetone to help me clean this dust, sanding is fine.
