So schnell ist Max Verstappen wirklich in einer Rennsimulation | F1 23 vs. iRacing

Apr 29, 2024
Hello everyone about this new sim racing video, which today is about true driving speed in Formula 1. You've probably already wondered how well you would do in a racing simulation or racing game compared to with a real Formula 1 racing driver. Whether the simulation or the game requires exactly what a real racing driver has to implement one by one in his cockpit and to find out, we of course need real Formula 1 drivers like Max Forstappen, who set a time in the game and then they equal it. with our lap comparison, meaning they put real Formula 1 drivers in front of the simulation and have them play to do a fast lap on a given track and then be overtaken by the community.

For example, there is currently Max Suzuka. The pro challenge in the Max was to do my decent round in the individual 23 and then I asked the F1 gaming community to beat their time. Now, of course, there are some catches to the matter; for one thing, it's all in EA's marketing campaigns for it. On the other hand, it is clear that small bikes spend much less time in a racing game. We have an average player who does that every day, but now he's known, for example, for. do simracing as a big hobby, which means of course you know this gaming and simracing business.

More Interesting Facts About,

However, in other racing simulations like iRacing, it is one of the most difficult racing simulations out there, so I thought I would prepare. all this to show you the big difference between Max, the data that is possible in a Formula 1 game and In his words, to show a real racing simulation, he didn't even achieve a faster time in F1 23 in this Suzuka lap than His actual Paul lap, which was already a strange lap, half a second faster than everyone else compared to the rest of the field, I thought to myself, hey, but let's start this challenge right away, it's going to be a really challenging one. difficult for YouTube and it will definitely be a challenge to buy the time to fix it for those people who maybe don't watch my channel as often.

Normally I'm about two seconds behind eSports drivers, but no. I'm always in the top 4% of all time trial people here, I went here and selected the standard setting for the moment so I didn't change anything in the automatic settings because I assumed they had some data since then. There was no special setup, then I started with the first attempts. Of course, I already saw on the menu that drivers like Marcel Kiefer, who are among the best in eSports, including a 1.25, can drive on this circuit, which of course they are. significantly faster When Max Verstappen took this lap immediately, I also knew that the time was very possible to beat, but can it be beaten with a setup that is set as standard on such a difficult circuit that has so many difficult corners that you would normally drive through? ?

The car is very cornering and it really depends on the setup. As we know, 23 standards are not really a good choice. After the first two attempts where I made some mistakes, I already had a 1.28.6. On the side table I knew then, okay, either Max Verstappen wasn't really in the best rhythm of him or they just didn't give him much lap time for this event. Of course, we don't know how serious Max is. accept this challenge for me. The game is usually not a simulation where you drive seriously. Don't get me wrong, the lap was of course super fast and very well timed, but overall I used full laps which of course I had to do.
Concentrate really hard to get all the 1A corners right, but then I thought this is definitely not Max Verstappen's true pace. There are definitely some people who say, hey, the lap was amazing and, hey, I did it. do it in one lap in F1 23 Unfortunately, that's not really a benchmark of what Max is normally able to achieve when he works very hard in a simulation and certainly not for a marketing campaign for f123 laps and probably explained and commented all. lap at the same time, so this lap was definitely great for qualifying, but I wanted to know more and see what Max was capable of doing in a formula car in his favorite simulation and that when he sits at home in his simulator and really shows his true strength.
The problem is that Max Verstappen mainly drives GT vehicles in his iRacing simulation and I'm not really a GT vehicle specialist and I mainly drive formula cars and therefore know the handling much better, but there are. some videos of Max, for example, that we have driving the Formula 3 car in iRacing, the videos of these laps are a few years old but I selected them To make a comparison, for example, here you have a lap of a lobby in iRacing in Montreal in Canada from the Diva laser scanned Formula 1 track Let's take a look together now Max, what does he himself say that i Racing and the formula vehicles in iRacing are more likely to be in Reality is coming what is it like to drive a formula car real and maxusdappen will probably know it and that is why we are going to take a look at how this Formula 3 car takes the corners and we can already see from the first corners that it flows smoothly.
Everything here looks like this with it and in comparison we will see another lap while I try to do that lap and those of you who know iRacing know how difficult it is to control a formula car in iRacing, it is very difficult to find the right one Find the corners speed for the individual corners once you have that you quickly figure out how to drive too fast in the corners the car just slides too fast the brakes in this simulation are super sensitive and it's just extremely difficult to brake for a turn without skidding or standing sideways, so in principle it's like karting and now we're almost on one lap and you saw some skid, some brake or something similar in Max's data, so I didn't see it and here on the steering wheel we already see a 1.30 and that was actually just his warm-up lap and now we are driving through the last chicane with a lot of feeling, we drop a few gears and hit the accelerator again, accelerating to the maximum to exit the Wall of Champions and Then we are here on iRacing with Max to get some data, 1, 25 9 and of course I don't know if that was really his best performing lap in this lobby, but it was definitely a top lap and that's easier to classify.
Max Verstappen is now one of the best drivers in iRacing Simulator and sometimes he is even faster than the esports athletes who are in the top rank. Most people running this simulation have an irritability of around 2000 or less, which is the skill level you have. I basically have iRacing, so I thought I'd give it a try. Just practice this lap ad nauseam. I already have experience with F1 simulation for a few years, so it can't be that difficult, well at least maybe in a while. a few seconds of getting closer to time. I also have to mention that I have been in iRacing for some time.
However, of course, I don't use the simulation that regularly, which makes everything more difficult, and of course, yes. I have no idea about the settings so I just used a standard setup for this track that i Racing suggests and it's simple. By the way, once you get started on the wheel you can see how many laps I did in each individual session that iRacing calculates. How good would you be with an optimal lap without all the mistakes you make and believe me people, this challenge has driven me to despair. I don't think I've ever been so far away from a lap time like that.
In theory, it could be achieved in a simulation. It has never been so difficult to achieve a perfect lap like that without slight bumps, without entering the corners too fast and the entire lap being lost. I probably spent about 60 laps on the track. without even getting close to the time of 30, but now just look at the comparison with Verstappen's lap and mine, you can tell right away. In turn 1 the tire slips, so the tire squeals on my lap, there was very little grip in the first corner. And there is data after Kove two felt all the way ahead.
I can tell you that it is incredibly difficult to drive the Formula 3 car into the corner with the correct speed when braking so that you can brake as late as possible. without slipping and it feels like Max Verstappen is driving a completely different car or a completely different lap here, as I can see now he is driving here a world wide 7 seconds if we briefly think about the lap time that was achieved in F1 23 .so we can roughly imagine what it does on the race track and of course you still have to do everything. It adds forces that you don't have in the simulation and, unlike iRacing, it makes me look like a real grandmother and I've already made many comparisons on this channel with my own eSports laps in F1 games.
We were still able to learn to a certain extent when we had to brake when approaching the corner, but in this case I was able to. I didn't even implement the braking points correctly, I implemented the correct steering angle for the corner, no matter how many times I watched Verstappen's lap, maybe he made it clear. More practice and maybe a setting at 130 somehow did it, but I think that does it. It's very clear how much difference there is between individual simulations or a single game, no matter what you think of official F1 games, of course it always depends on how well you are used to a game and how well you are used to it. but I hope this example showed you how good Max is in a simulation that you can really master.
