better

, what's worse, the little factors that go into deciding

which

of these two cars you prefer. Maybe you want to buy them. I want to give you my impressions after obviously now I have these two cars. I have all kinds of great content coming up this year, it should be really exciting, also follow me on Instagram and we're going, we have 1000 horsepower so for those of you who actually follow me. You may have seen my channel, just a couple of days ago I picked up this bad boy and yes the 2020 Mustang GT, this is the premium one with recaro seats. I love the interior of this car and I have to be. To be honest, I've driven a lot of the 10-speed Mustangs and of course the Scat Packs. You have seen me drive all kinds of these types of cars.

More Interesting Facts About,

scatpack vs mustang gt which is the better car to own...

You've seen me review them, compare them to each other and 60 to 130 test 0 to 60 all kinds of things, but now that I actually own the car, I said this is the premium edition, I want to give you my normal driving impressions, so maybe you are someone who is outside. There, maybe you're thinking about buying a Mustang or a Challenger or both, you never know. I'm going to show you how these two cars drive differently because, in fact, they drive very, very differently and they both provide a very satisfying drive. experience now before I start driving I want to cover just a couple of quick things and I know I've covered this before in some of my other videos but obviously there are big differences between the engines in these two cars so obviously here in the Mustang has that five-liter naturally aspirated Coyote engine, but this thing has plenty of power.
scatpack vs mustang gt which is the better car to own
The 460-horsepower, four-valve-per-cylinder, dual-overhead-cam engine is actually quite different from the Scat Pack. Now the Scat Pack produces more. power as we know you're looking at 485 horsepower 475 in torque so that's really one of the big differences the hemi has a lot of torque I talk about that all the time but then you're talking about two valves per cylinder in this one and this is of course the single lower cam on this one so there's a very different engine setup all together so while this one makes more horsepower it's also heavier; you're looking at about a 600 pound weight difference between the uh, the scat pack challenger and of course the premium

mustang

gt, and you feel it when you drive it, also an eight speed transmission versus a 10 speed transmission, of course , both cars are automatic and both transmissions are really phenomenal, so really Quick, before I forget, I also want to talk about the tire setup on these two cars.
scatpack vs mustang gt which is the better car to own
Both cars have a sort of stock thing that I like to call the shit setup,

which

is, you've got your RSA2s here, uh, the eagles in the scat pack. they're 245 wide which is completely inappropriate for this car but as much as she drives that's what we're working with and of course in the

mustang

we have pirellis and 235 in the back of this car and that's also Extremely inappropriate. We'll be changing the tires on this bad boy here very soon, so it's definitely something to consider, but really the tire setups on these two cars aren't enough meat under the rear for the amount of power these things make.
I want to give you a quick look inside these cars so you can see how different they are. Now both sports cars actually have plenty of room and are very comfortable. but I love the red recaros on this as you guys know I'm a big fan of black and red and you can see this is a very neutral driving position here in the mustang with the digital dash also very very stylish which which is I'll show you here shortly and then as we walk towards the challenger, I have the two cars parked quite close to each other, but I want to show you the inside of the challenger, many of you know this very well. of what the interior of the challenger actually looks and feels like, um but there you have it, these mopar seats are actually bigger than the mustang seats, they don't hug you even though they look very bolstered and they're actually

better

for someone. who is really big in stature, but both interiors of this car are very, very comfortable and as you can see, this one is driver-centric, the dashboard wraps towards the driver very differently from the gauge cluster perspective, I mean, both cars have great infotainment screens in the middle here, they're both great to drive for very different reasons, another quick thing to note and a lot of people actually overlook this, but if you look at on how these two cars are aligned.
Here, um, it's very similar to how they're lined up, but as we move to the back of the cars, you really get a sense of how much bigger the challenger is than the mustang. The challenger is just a bigger car, overall, you can. Seeing as it's higher up, it can be a little difficult to make out on camera, but the Challenger easily sits a couple of inches higher than the Mustang. It's shaped completely differently in these two cars, but both are phenomenal in their own right. so let's go ahead and get these things on the road now that I'm aboard the 2020 mustang gt uh um it's a very different feel for this car obviously I really love the feel of these recaros of course um these are seats specials that don't I don't get this on the regular mustang gt and of course I love the red as I mentioned but I will say just from a driving position perspective the car is very neutral and I feel like the digital dash is the way to go on the mustang gt i love the digital dash because of course you have this option like my color where you can change you can actually change the colors of the ambient lighting you can change the color that the dash lights up , which is not an option on the Challenger, the dash on this car is just shorter, I mean, the dash on this car actually seems pretty short compared to when you're in the Challenger, the Challenger, really when you drive it , it really is a kind of muscle versus sports car feeling. to these two things because as I look at this the dash is shorter the hood just looks shorter it feels like a smaller car and it is but the mustang still has a lot of room in here I don't feel like it's me .
I get claustrophobic or whatever when I'm in this car and the visibility is still pretty good in this thing, so you know you have to hand it to Ford when they designed this because they were able to keep it for a smaller model. car, they were able to keep it nice and open and it has a really nice feel. One of the things that I really like about this mustang gt is that obviously you have the digital dash here and the driving modes. the way they're set up you actually change your drive modes down here with this switch and uh but I want to show you what's going on on the dash so right now while I'm going to change my drive mode you don't just have this guy . from the wet snow feature here now I changed my color to be purple and red which I think is cool there are a lot of options now as we go up here we can also change this to normal and you will start to see things change here .
A little bit now we'll go up here, you also have sport mode, which is a very fun way to drive this car, the shifts are a little quicker now, one of the things I like, obviously, when you jump up here to follow you. get a completely different look, it tells you to look at the manual for this and not only do you get tracking on this one but you also get drag strip mode which I think is cool so things change a little bit in terms of the shift points in the drag strip mode as well, so there's a lot of configurability for this particular mustang and you don't actually get the drag mode in the scat package, you just get the um, you know, you get the normal um. street sport and track but not necessarily drag and you don't have the wet and snow feature on that car as that is definitely a difference so while driving the mustang I can definitely feel the car is smaller definitely not.
I don't feel heavy or anything, now this car weighs around 36 3700 pounds and you can definitely feel it when you drive it. It doesn't have the same initial advice that you would get on the scat. package, which is one of the things I love about the stat package, is how much torque it has and how little effort the Hemi puts into moving that car, you would think that being a heavy car, the Hemi would. It's really hard for him to move all that weight, but in reality it's quite the opposite. Because of that big displacement, the weight doesn't really feel like it's there because it just crushes it out of the hole and it just wants to move your head back and this car when you step on the gas um, it's a feeling a little different, so when I tilt it, it doesn't really hit like the scat pack does, um, you can definitely feel it, it has, it has power, you can feel it's there, but it doesn't have that initial sound like a neck snap What does the scat pack do?
The 10 speed Mustang is just phenomenal in this car, it really is and you know there's something to be said about a manual car and how a manual is a lot of fun to drive. I still love a good manual transmission, but I mean you have to give it to Ford because this 10-speed just makes this car really what it is and, yes, it's missing something so low down. final torque than the um that the scat package has, but when it comes down to just shifting and once you really get into the mid-range power and this thing starts revving at 7000 rpm, that's where it really shines because it just starts racking up the miles. per hour and you can see that these 10 speed Mustang GTs, at least the newer ones, the 18 and up, are so formidable right off the bat, because that's really with the four miles per cylinder that's when the engine really kicks in. to breathe and do its thing and you can feel it when you drive it because that thing is moving like crazy let me take a look at you so let's listen to the mustang do its thing on this little back road here I'm kind of leaning it still feels very powerful but um , here we go abroad, the shifts are really quick, listen to the downshift, she's cooking, she's cooking now, I'm just driving the car in sport mode right now, but even in sport mode, Mustang, you can feel that speed 10 works all the time.
It's doing everything it can to keep you in the power band. You're working with a smaller displacement engine on this one, compared to the obviously slightly smaller Scat Pack. liters versus 6.4 and it's just something in that hemi that just creates all that thump but you really feel like it's shifting, I mean it's constantly shifting trying to keep you in the power band and when you get into it you can downshift like it is. crazy, so the thing about the Mustang is it doesn't really feel like it's trying to get away from you because of the way the power is generated in this car, it's very linear, it's very smooth and the car just It constantly changes trying to get you into the power band, but you know the power delivery is very smooth in this car, so it doesn't really feel like the car is trying to get out from under you.
Somehow it inspires a lot of confidence when you drive it. you know, it really does, I mean the car really comes to life as you start to develop more and more speed and as you get closer to triple digits, the car doesn't really feel like it wants to slow down much, I mean, it really does. it carries speed. Well, it's a completely different driving experience than the Scat Pack, so let's go ahead and move on to the 2019 Challenger Scat Pack and see how things change now that I'm on board the 2019 Challenger Scat Pack and it's a big difference when you sit down. .
On this car, as I mentioned, the dashboard on this car is much longer. This car is a shaker edition, so you actually have the big shaker blade in front of you. It really has a great brute force feel in comparison. Um, so it's got a lot of that muscular touch and it's just a monster, it feels completely different than driving the Mustang. One thing I like about both of these cars, obviously, you have the configurability when it comes to it. to the driving modes, but also to the steering, so I mean you have several different modes in the Challenger, just like in the Mustang.
As far as steering goes, you get your sport track and street and I usually just hold the steering. On the street, it keeps things at a nice mid-weight, but things obviously change when you switch it to the other modes, and of course you also get the traction control settings here, just like you do in the mustang, so Actually, a lot of things are similar with these two cars, but the driving experience is quite different, so I'm actually going to speed up a little. I always say hemis have so much torque and man do you feel it when you're driving this thing and um yeah I mean I like to drive it in sports or on track so not everyone likes to do that but I like to do that.
I love feeling the torque of the big V8 and while the Mustang definitely feels like it doesn't want to try to pull away from you, this car feels like that's exactly what it wants to do because I'm doing 30, listen, oh wow. go the tires and it makes the job of these 245 rsa2 so short where in the mustang even the 235 you have to want to spin them, you can and the car will do it, but in this car it just does it even if you don't necessarily want it, which adds to the fun factor for some people, including me.
Comparing these two cars really is like comparing apples to oranges at the end of the day. Yes, both are performance oriented vehicles. Obviously you already know that. You don't feel as light as the Mustang and it handles that way and it's not right, I mean it's like taking the Mustang and stacking three of your biggest friends with you just to match the weight of these two. cars, so there's a big weight difference between these two, so the Mustang feels a little livelier from a handling perspective. This thing is just a sledgehammer, it's just a brute force muscle car, that's what Dodge meant to it when they made this car. that's part of the fun uh but I really enjoy driving the scat pack it has the ability to put a big smile on your face and I must admit the transmission on this despite it being eight speed versus ten speed like in the mustang um it's still really good I mean as I'm driving down this back road you can really hear that x mod coming back there but um oh man the torque on this thing is just it's phenomenal it really is what makes this car very fun to drive, so it doesn't have to prance like a ballerina to put a big smile on your face and be fun to drive, and yes, the Mustang shifts more often, I mean, just when you're driving, it's just that .
Things just shift like crazy and constantly put you in the power band. This one doesn't change that much, but it's still a very good transmission. The eight speeds really move. In this car, this challenger. it's um it's a lot of fun to drive um yeah it may not be a scalpel yeah it's a sledgehammer but that's just part of the fun of a scat pack challenger or charger uh but anyway it couldn't be more different than the mustang so when I run the 0-60 test on these cars the results are pretty interesting because the scat package just makes more torque many times over the mustang really comes out on top and it's because this thing makes so much torque it just seems to fry the tires and it can be a tremendous challenge to connect this so it's not that it lacks power it's just the way the two cars make power and the difference and the mustang's power kicks in and it's very usable the amount of power what that car generates and it's very predictable as this thing is just a brain teaser it's very different but things change when you go to the track yeah the Mustang is going to breathe like crazy and really perform at the top end , but like in the eighth mile, that's why you see the scat pack work so well because you're on a sticky surface where he can literally use all his power and really plant it and usually when it's 60 feet and those things, it is superior. car the mustang has to roll up on the top end so apples to oranges so i'm trying to think of some really good analogies to compare these two cars because they are so different and they both make you smile so i guess you already know .
We have all these superhero movies and stuff right now, so I guess if you compared these two cars to superheroes, the Mustang would be like Superman and the challenger is like the Incredible Hulk. lots of civility, um, he's just a big angry beast, but at the end of the day, who cares? It's still a lot of fun to drive the big angry beast or I guess if you were a boxer, you know, I mean Mike Tyson, this would be being a mike tyson and uh it would be more like a muhammad ali in the mustang and he would just beat you to death and it would just change and change and change and change and this thing would just punch you in the face and call you stupid, so that's awesome.
I know there you have it, it's a very interesting comparison and both cars are fantastic in their own right, so at the end of the day which one is right for you really depends on what you want to do and what kind of car you like , so if you want something that's just a torque monster that's got a lot of low-end grunt, um, that just has that, plus you know that muscle car feel, you're going to love the challenger scats package because it's going to. put a big smile on your face and if you're looking for something that runs at low speeds under 80 miles per hour, it just has that big power, this car is absolutely the one to get now if you want something that's a little bit lighter , something that has a more neutral driving feel, something where the power becomes more linear, uh, you'll like the mustang gt, this thing really screams at the top, that's where this car comes to life, so you like low power if you want something that's I'm going to scream on the road and just accelerate at all kinds of crazy speeds the mustang gt now the mustang gt is a smaller car it has a smaller back seat so there are a lot of differences between both of these cars but they are both Fantastic and you really can't go wrong with either one so anyway guys it's been fun let me know what you think about it in the comments below and I'll see you in the next one so Until then, racerx.
