SAND-STRIPPED BEACH Exposes Lost TREASURES! No Metal Detector Needed! (Beachcombing Treasure Hunt)

Mar 20, 2024
We found so many unidentified things that we found there that we would love for you to help us identify some of them. um or if you recognize anything here that's like a piece of copper pipe. that's interesting and random, but we can definitely do things with these bits, although we have thou

sand

s of them now, we probably couldn't in a lifetime, we couldn't use them all. . We have so many crafts and of course there is my favorite. find what the miner count is, tag, check or token, yes, and I think it was 16, but it could have been, I don't think so because it's round, it's a circle, it could have been around six, well, 16 or 18 , Yeah. but these were used by the miners and the mining company, they would come in and do their shift and they would have one of these that they would put on a whiteboard and probably write in a notebook, who, I guess, it depends, yeah, you know what? and if Mina didn't come back at the end of the day, of course, her bead would still be hanging on the board, yes, because after one turn, she would remove it from the board, yes, when she got to the mines and and it was I don't know someone broke it let it be someone in this little office I'm pretty sure someone said some didn't even come at lunch time no they would come at lunch time they'll stay down all the time all day no what a bleak job.

I'd hate to be a miner, yeah, um, but yeah, and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they might have had these tags on similar cars of mine, yeah, I'm not sure. which actually some also say they would have two of these one that they would take with them and one that they would leave on the dash yeah yeah so I guess it varied depending on which one mine was different and a lot of these tags actually had mine, the name of the mine, the company, um, but this is very basic, right? Yeah, so maybe these were discarded when mine got new ones with the name on them or something, maybe they're old, really old, who knows, who knows, but yeah. it's interesting either way it's really interesting and of course that's not the only count of miners we found there oh no over the years wow these are all the ones we found they all follow a similar theme they are like kind of an angle and they have the corners cut off the sides and this one's not there so I don't know and that one is very thin look at that oh this is the only round one and then this is our twelfth 12 one so now we've got a whole dozen negative things, so this thing we pulled out of that big crunchy lump of yeah, that epic crunchy lump is pretty interesting it's actually the front cover of a lock, kind of like a plaid cover if like yeah, like a padlock. , yes, from a large lock and it actually says that once we cleaned it we could see that it is a JS and S improved drum lock and now all the manufacturers of these drum locks seem to have a different shaped cover, yes, so it's really interesting. to see all the different locks with their different covers and we found quite a few pieces of these really old 19th century locks on that

beach

, they date from the mid 19th century to the late 19th century, we have a lot of fun bits. how they were all called improved, they all improved, yes, I don't know, improved than we may never know, but uh, yes, I think it was their ability to not be forced so easily, yes, the ear tufts could be forced more easily.

More Interesting Facts About,

It's going to be the safety of them, yeah, that's been improved, so yeah, I really like that and this weird looking thing here is actually a weight and it's called a slotted weight for obvious reasons. It may have the weight stamped somewhere, but we have it. I didn't clean it so we can't see it, yes it's hard to see, and these would have been placed on a hanger that would have had a hook on the top and a plate on the bottom to hold them and they would come in all types. of different weights of course, just like other weights and I think they would have been used in experiments where they calculated the mass of different things.

I've seen the modern ones advertised as um for soil weight, so weights, mass weights, oh why would you? I need to know that, I don't know, I'm not really sure exactly how they use them, but I think we'll leave that to the scientists, but it's interesting because we have a collection of weights that we've found over time. years, actually, yeah, and we found a lot of these little scales here, um, that's a new one for the collection and we also have this one, so we have like a whole weight collection with three different ones. types of weight, it would most likely have been used in a kitchen, probably on kitchen scales, yes, or in a store, and these would have come in a variety of different sizes, so with these and these would have been a lot too bigger. those also that would be on a scale, so yeah, we have this really interesting kind of scientific scale, weight collection, yeah, how cool they look too, so we have something here, it's a little label of something a little bit. lovely, but it's been extremely frustrating because, as you can see, there's a word in there, there's an r sa something and you can see the end of it, but we don't know what it says.

I think the ending is like er e or something and there's something written above it. and it's also very very faint but you can see you can't write on the back as well and down here there's something like a faucet looking, it's really hard to see you need a magnifying glass to see but it's like a faucet coming out of a crown, yeah, Griffin or a phoenix, Phoenix or something, so if you recognize it by chance, you know what this is. We'd love to know some kind of Sunday school, yeah, some kind of religious thing, um, we don't know, it depends, I wish we knew, but it's been battered at sea for the last 100 or so 100 200 years, something like that, like that which yeah, um, not in a big way, um and finally I think so.
I have our favorite find anyway. I'm not sure about you, but this is my favorite find. I love it and I actually like it in the state it's in now rather than how it looked when it was new, which we'll show you. Yes. We have some photos, but I have found information about the man depicted in this little BGE. What do you mean pork chops guy? Let's go eat some pork chops. They say there Matthew Hall and a date that is 188 um. 1848 and that's all we had to go through, so the Matthew Hall engineering company made a badge in 1948 to commemorate the centenary of the founding of Matthew Hall's works and so Matthew Hall was born in Newcastle upon Th in the north of England in 1815. her father was a merchant and her mother Lizzy Reed came from a large house called trough end in the north of umland and this was a stately home and had been in the Reed family for 800 years, crazy sadly after years of neglect, it was demolished in the 1950s.
It's a shame but it had pretty good experience anyway, but in 1848 Matthew moved to London to develop his own business which was plumbing and lead work of course. Plumbing wasn't just about drains and toilets and stuff in those days. It was an art of lead work and they made beautiful things like things, you know, things at the top of the drain that would collect water from the roofs and were very ornate, and toilet systems, all kinds of ornate water troughs and things like that. and he, um, was a master plumber and a skilled lead work worker and won many prestigious contracts, such as plumbing and lead work at Buckingham Palace, wow, and at various museums, Westminster Abbey and Castle Windsor, so he must have been pretty good at what he did. obviously a talented guy, yeah, he never married, but he took in his sister Mary and her kids after her husband, um, who was addicted to opium, she left him, she left him, wow, okay, yeah, well , Mary, I think she left him and got divorced, yeah, so she lived.
With his brother Matthew, the company became um Matthew Hall Limited in 1927 and in the 1980s the business expanded overseas and in 1988 it merged with amch amch. I think that's how you say engineering, which was bought by spie spy in 2007, so the company is still going more or less yeah, yeah, in a way, why do these companies start out as this one-man business that is very successful, they partner and then they merge and then they always merge, they always merge and they are bought by a conglomerate and it's a bit? It's really sad, isn't it that these individual businesses will be swallowed up by one big giant?
But as you can see in the picture of what this looked like, it had a beautiful light blue background and behind Matthew himself was this dark blue. kind of indigo blue um the badge was actually made by kton coup of s it's made of brass and would have had a guilty finish with the gaps filled with light and dark blue and on the back would have been a pin fastener , so this would have been really quite shiny and stylish, it doesn't look like an ancient relic anymore, so I think someone who worked for the company

lost

it, yeah, yeah, maybe an employee, yeah, and I love how it's there , this little piece of anel. just hanging on for dear life but i love how it looks now it would actually make a great weird pendant wasn't it a weird piece of jewelry piece of jewelry um so yeah thank you fate for bringing us this we could learn about it.
Matthew and his plumbing um it's also a very interesting find so before we go we have one last thing to mention. I don't think so? Yes, it is this and it looks like a musket ball, but it is actually made of iron, it is a solid piece of iron and we believe this is what is called a piece of grape shot that would have been fired from a cannon. Actually, they were also commonly used on ships and the grape shot would obviously There would be a lot of pellets and they would be over an inch long and they would be inside like a tied container and uh, that was shot and obviously all the pellets would fly away causing a lot of damage, especially to the candles.
They were really designed to break the sails exactly and we know that in that particular area where this

beach

was there was a lot of smuggling and piracy and yes, battles on the high seas, so who knows, of course, it's quite small now because it's been hit against the rocks. 'cause it's really rusty, endless years, yeah, warped, but it's really cool, yeah, and um, we found quite a few bullets and shot musket balls and all kinds on that beach too, didn't we? What an amazing collection of finds, um, just a few hours. search and it's just amazing, aren't you so happy?
It's crazy,
