More Interesting Facts About,

samsung makes a flippy camera a80 durability test...

Now it's time to see if the Galaxy A 50 can withstand my durability test. Let us begin. Samsung says the AAT is designed for the live era since it has that capability. to lift and flip the rear

camera

s towards the front, allowing the user to use the higher quality

camera

for selfie situations. The last up-camera phone I tested, the Oppo Find X, broke in half and died, so it will be interesting to see. Whether this rising phone with what appears to be the same mechanism will also die, I have my doubts, but this peach angel gold AAT seems to be full of confidence, let's get started.

If you insist from the beginning, the phone feels quite heavy and even without it. When activating the camera, the top half of the phone can be manually slid up but then automatically retracts into its case. We've seen quite a few mechanical pop-up cameras, most have a single lens that appears like the 1+7 Pro. If you have a slice of pizza like the Oppo Reno or a rotating camera like the Zenfone 6, this might be the most complex version we've seen seen so far, with a rising function and a rotating movement that are activated simultaneously and rotates the three rear parts. cameras facing forward in a fluid motion technology it's cool to analyze that little fin room mechanism from the inside it's going to be super interesting if I try to manually rotate the camera backwards while it's in the pop-up position it automatically triggers a reverse and everything goes back down.

I think it's a super unique gadget, but it's only worth it if it's durable and can last, which is what we'll find out today if the camera extends and I tap the top with my finger, I automatically retract and then if I hold the camera closed while I try to extend it, it

makes

noises similar to dialogue where, if you don't know what that means, you can ask your parents we'll turn up the triple cameras so they can see this. convinced with this green scratch test I have a set of Mohs mineral picks that tells us what the different minerals are made of for the different levels that scratch at level three as you can see it means that the screen is made of plastic in this case we are talking Regarding the pre-installed screen protector, we also discovered at this point that the camera cannot be retracted when placed on a flat surface.
I guess it's because the pan and lift movement are connected to a singular motor and the camera can't make its pan movement. than the upper camera trap it is interesting to try to extend the camera on a flat surface and we get the same results. noflipe means no extension continue with the scratch test Now that the screen protectors are removed, we know that since this phone uses tempered Korilla Glass 3, we shouldn't start seeing scratches until level 6 and that is indeed the case. Scratches at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7, fairly normal keys, coins and razor blades, will not damage the screen surface, the screen is visible. quite impressive, although there are no notches and hardly any bezels, even the earpiece seems to have completely disappeared, just as we saw with the note 10.
I will open the mechanical camera with its 8 megapixel ultra-wide camera on the left, the main camera of 48 megapixels in the center and the 3D depth camera on the right side next to that single LED flash the surface of the camera is made of glass no scratches with my razor blade the good thing that can be done on many phones today day is to add an under-display fingerprint scanner and the AAT is no different with an in-display fingerprint scanner near the bottom of the phone. I'll take my level 7 slots and scratch the glass surface after my fingerprint is set to simulate years of use.
Severe abuse and it seems that even with all that extra damage, the Galaxy AAT can still recognize that fingerprint and unlock the phone pretty much every time. The sides of the phone are made of aluminum and have a thin protective piece of plastic surrounding each. On those sides, it is always good to have additional protection. The volume buttons are made of metal, as are the side of the pop-up camera that is integrated into the phone's frame, the top of the camera unit, and the display bezel. Both are also made of metal. Samsung surrounds it with premium materials on the bottom of the phone, we do not find a headphone jack, but we do see a 25-watt fast charging cable, a USB C port and a SIM card tray without expansion. memory, this mid-range phone seems to be missing out on extra features and just like we see on major flagships, flipping the phone back we can see the same trio of cameras we tested on the front and if we manually pull the camera towards above.
We can see that the rising axis of the camera is made of plastic. It took us a while but we found that the back panel also feels like plastic but it's actually Gorilla Glass 6 and without any scratches I'll be buying my razor blade. Leave the Samsung logo unscathed, not bad at all. I mean, personally, I think phones should be tools with as many features as possible, like a Swiss Army knife, even if you don't use all the features, it's nice to have them, so I feel like this Galaxy AAT is aimed at tech people who like it.
Most phones these days seem to follow the same cookie-cutter design. I held the lighter in place on the 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display for over 30 seconds with no damage to the screen, which doesn't mean much. I started burning phones four years ago and I can't seem to stop talking non-stop. Let's continue with this camera trying to get the camera straight out. from the top of the phone is quite unsuccessful, it's there quite tight, hitting it on my desk doesn't do much either, even direct stack pulses from top to bottom, at least the slider intact still on the tracks, originally arrived without extra squeaks or failures, however, some pop-up cell phone cameras have a drop detection feature where if the camera detects a fall while the cameras are protruding, it will automatically retract into the air while going down and it appears that the AAT does the same . it retracts a little and then stops, as if bracing for impact.
I tried going a little higher for the last drop and got the same result. One kind of weird thing I thought about when I first saw this phone was a template, you know? when you can push letters from a cut out template with this camera only placed on each side. I wanted to see if I could pop it out of the frame like a jig, but even when I pushed it in from the back and front, the rotating camera remains intact inside its small casing, it has some movement, but is still very sturdy. I imagine other things on this phone will start to break before the camera mechanism, even after all this abuse of being forced and held against this will of the camera.
It still moves strongly with no squeaking, whining, or other strange noises. I'm impressed remember the carrier find completely so let's hope this sliding AAT is a bit stronger with the first flex from the back we don't get much movement just a very small separation of the back panel flexing from the front though is a story completely different, the back panel does not contribute at all to the structural integrity, it leaves the frame of the phone to fend for itself, even with that major flex, the screen appears to be intact, but the back panels do nothing to help the phone stay solid. but nothing is breaking permanently either, at least now we know where to start for that general teardown video.
I'm a fan of the company trying new things, so kudos to Samsung for coming up with a unique motorized camera design of its own and doing it. Tough enough to survive my durability test, we'll be taking this Galaxy apart to review it from the inside, so hit the subscribe button and let me know in the comments which pop-up camera, if any, you liked best. We have reviewed quite a bit. Some hang out with me in this scram and Twitter and thanks for watching, see you around.
