Apr 30, 2024
What's up guys today? I'm going to go over a constant question I get and it's usually between the Galaxy Note 10 plus and the Note 20 Ultra. Should you

upgrade

to the Galaxy s23 Ultra? Now I made individual comparisons of these two phones. against this phone, but I wanted to go ahead and update it for all the new people on the channel that I didn't see, since we also have a lot of new people. If you want this wallpaper, you can get it on Live Loop. The app is on the Play Store and it looks like this, yeah, so I'll try to go over the pros and cons and simplify everything, everything you need, know all the essentials and then you guys can make your decision from there, now let's talk of the price because the s22

ultra

is a 1200 phone but if you go ahead and change your device you can see that the modified

note

20 gets 600 off and then the Note 10 plus gets 430 off currently.

Right now you can see it used to be 175 and then the Note 20 Ultra was 270, so you can actually get a pretty good trade-in deal right now. I think that's what piqued the interest of a lot of you, as you get you know a pretty good trade-in deal here, so the first thing is the hardware with these phones, there's not a huge hardware difference as you might think here, which is quite interesting, the Note 10 plus and #20 Ultra are nice. very much on par with the s23

ultra

here, they all have this square design. I think the biggest difference is that the s23 ultra might be a little easier to hold since the sides are completely flat, but all of these phones have a boxy feel. and you know they cut off the hand at the bottom here so they still feel pretty much the same um yeah they still feel pretty much the same and I think the design of the Note 10 plus is still my favorite of the bunch I think It still looks great, with this really cool color, just amazing, it always catches people's attention, so it's part of the design, there's not much going on here.

More Interesting Facts About,

s23 ultra vs note 20 ultra vs note 10 plus should you upgrade these old flagships in 2023...

I think they all still look fantastic. Additionally, all of these phones have the S Pen. Also, now the s23 ultra is a you'll notice the precision, it feels a little more instantaneous, so if you really use the S Pen a lot, you'll notice it, but it's not a dramatic difference, right? uh, and also if you do digital artwork, maybe that's something that's really important to you, but if you're just using it as a regular stylist, you know, taking

note

s, browsing, um, it's not really a big difference, Also guys, these two. The phones are glossy, the Note 10 plus and the Note 20 Ultra, the s23 has a matte finish and you're definitely going to get those fingerprints and stuff and smudges, so I'm glad they went with a matte finish here, but yeah, on as for the hardware.

We'll look at these speakers and all that, they all have stereo speakers. Now the big difference with the hardware here is that these two phones have SD card support, the s23 ultra, not all of these phones are also IP68 water and dust resistant, but the interesting thing is that the Note 10 plus has the best option of storage because it is the default or the base storage 256 gigs 12 gigs in Ram SD card support these are 128 gigs and eight gigs of RAM default, so that is quite interesting, the note 20 Ultra could have 128 12 gigs, but of anyway it's still not as good as you know 10 plus so that's what I really liked about this particular phone okay so let's talk about the display differences here so it's not as great as you think, so what's quite interesting is that the Note 10 plus the older phone here still looks pretty much on par with the s23 ultra here, so as far as the viewing experience goes, there's a big difference, but I don't think it's at the same time for the average person either. the s23 ultra has a 1440p screen, it's 120 hertz, it's very bright at 1750 nits, so you can see it much easier in direct sunlight than these two phones, but again, you won't be exposed to indirect sunlight all the time so I know it's no big deal they all have curved screens but the s23 ultra isn't that curved so the biggest difference here is the note 20 Ultra is 120 hertz it's 1440p but you can only use at 1080p, so you can only do 120 hertz 1080p.

This one can do 120 hertz 1440p for full resolution. The Note 10 plus doesn't have any kind of high refresh rate, it's just 60 hertz at 1440. They are still beautiful screens, but yes, the s23 ultra will of course have the best. They are shown here, but as you can see just by looking at them side by side, they look good guys, but like I said, it's really nice to have 120 hertz, so if you're a big screen person, I really like the

upgrade

of the screen. coming from Note 10 plus um it's like a person who really loves technology but an average person might not care about having a high refresh rate so basically I feel like once you use a high refresh rate it's difficult back to 60. hertz um, but yeah, I don't think most people find it necessary, but overall it feels smoother like you, everything just looks smoother and faster, uh, with 120 hertz versus 60 hertz, If you have a Note 10 plus, I wouldn't upgrade. for the screen because you know even looking at this at 1080p it still looks really good, like you wouldn't really see the difference unless you looked really close, you know, that's the thing, so no 20 Ultra screen is very close to you.
Meet the s23 Ultra. I think if you're a big screen person, it's a big upgrade coming from the Note 10 plus, okay guys, this always surprises people, but if you're a casual user or just know a normal person who It doesn't do too much. on your phone or even if you're playing games and stuff like that, there's not a big difference, I'm telling you, so we have the Snapdragon 2 agent on the s23, they have the Snapdragon 865 chip here and then we have the Note 10. Also, with the Snapdragon 855 there is not a big difference, especially coming from the Note 20 Ultra here, so we can play at 90 frames like a game like Pub G, but also on the Note 20 Ultra we can also play at 90 frames and both.
It looks and feels smooth now, the Note 10 plus with the Snapdragon 855, it can't do 90 frames, but it can do extreme HDR and it plays very well too, so you can play this at 60 frames quite easily, like this I would say in general. The gaming experience is still really good on these older flash models. um, yeah, of course, if you're a very serious gamer, of course, the s23 Archer will do a very good job. I've been very impressed with how great the phone can hold up. Also, but if you're coming from a Note 20 Ultra, you definitely don't need to upgrade and if you're not a big gamer and you have a No 10 Plus, you don't really need to upgrade either.
Because this does a good job of gaming, you know most of the games on the Play Store are fine, so like I said, if you're not a serious gamer you don't really need to upgrade, but the Note 20 Ultra will surprise you. it does a great job when it comes to gaming guys here are the geekbench scores as you can see for the single core and then here are the scores for its main core you can see the s23 ultra is a huge jump when It's about these. scores here it's a very very fast phone but like I said for the average person it's not really that you're not going to notice a big difference so I'm going to show you something that you like here and we'll go ahead and start Subway Surf try opening this at the same time just to show you that the casual user won't really notice much difference as they can see the Note 20 Ultra almost on par with the S23 Ultra and the Note. 10 plus was not far behind, so even if you go to something like YouTube and all this surprises a lot of people because these companies do a very good job with marketing, but as you can see, the Note 10 plus is really you.
I know on par with um so you guys can see very quickly even when we go in and out of apps uh when multitasking the animations on these older phones are still very smooth that's why I said guys it's not a big big problem. upgrade as you think these older phones are really meant to last and as far as its extra features, it still has the same features uh pretty much on all of these phones. The Samsung desktop supports reverse wireless charging. Adobe Atmos, you won't actually get anything new. As for the software experience, now let's talk about the software experience because this is a pretty important point here, so the Note 10 plus is still receiving security patches surprisingly, but this will be the last year to receive security patches .
Sure, the Note 20 Ultra also continues to receive security patches, but both phones no longer receive major operating system updates. This latest update is Android 13. A 5.1 UI. This one has Android 12 when you have 4.1. This phone will look nice. Samsung's promise of long life, I think, is that if it's four years on major OS updates and then, I think, you also get four or five years of security patches, so now you'll know about major system updates operational on newer phone. Samsung made a pretty big improvement with the stereo speaker, especially on the s23rd, because it felt that the s22 ultra's speakers weren't as good, so let's go ahead and listen to them all side by side, definitely a little louder, a little top.
Bass, yes the s23 ultra is definitely louder so they made a pretty good improvement on the space but the Note 20 Ultra Note 10 plus still has very good speakers and all of these phones have the same fingerprint scanner so I get that question very similar to whether it is a fingerprint scanner. much faster, it's noticeably faster, um no, it actually still feels the same speed even on an S10, so they still feel pretty much the same. Now let's go ahead and talk about one of the main reasons why people upgrade and that is because of the cameras. um the s23 ultra is a pretty big upgrade when you're coming from a note 10 plus, as far as the cameras go, there's a lot going on with the cameras, a lot of new things that you have that you can take advantage of now in my opinion as far as real steals and good lighting, there's not a huge difference, but when we lower the light when we get to the zoom, we know we can shoot an 8K video with the Note 10 and, furthermore, you know you won't.
You'll be able to keep up, but you can look at the Note 10 and we also have a 2X optical zoom and we can zoom in 10 times, but on the s23 ultra we can zoom in 100 times and it gets very close, the 10 times those shots are incredible. here so you get much better zoom shots on the s23 ultra sure like I said you get higher resolution video you get better super stable here or you have super stable here you don't get it on the Note 10 plus um but like I said as far as these stills go, you know, I think the Note 10 plus still requires very good steals and good lighting, but like I said, you take it out of good lighting, any kind of low light and then you start to see it age a little bit. and also one of the most important things here is the higher resolution camera, you have a 200 megapixel camera on the s23 ultra, so you get some very, very high resolution shots here, so if you like to crop and zoom in It's pretty crazy compared to the 12 megapixels now with the Note 20 Ultra um yeah you have a 50x zoom which is pretty good here.
The 10x zoom is good, you have the 50x hybrid zoom um, it feels a little more on par with the s23 ultra, this one also has a very high resolution, it also steals, it also records at 108 megapixels and to a video here, it has a very high resolution video and it also records 8K, you know, 24 here. I know the 10 plus can only shoot in 4k 60. um so I would say it's not a huge upgrade when you're coming from a note 20 Ultra, yes the s23 ultra takes better photos than the ones you know 20 Ultra but I'm sorry it's not such a big gap as you still have really good zoom, really good high repeat shots.
This does a pretty decent job in low light environments. It's not as good as this phone, so I'd say unless you're really, really good. On the cameras, guys like you, you know vlogs and maybe you want to make YouTube shorts or Tick Tock or something, start doing something like that on social media, so that would be a really good update because I think the cameras are definitely uh. It's worth it, but if you're just taking steals and shooting video here and there, I don't think it's really worth, you know, that kind of money because the Note 20 Arch still takes very, very good photos guys, so one In my opinion, the biggest upgrades with the s23 ultra is really the battery life, this phone has phenomenal battery life, it's surprisingly good, it's actually very good, the 5000 milliamp battery here and it's noticeably better than the Note 10 plus and the note 20 ultra. um, for me it lasts about a day andmedium, it's a very, very good battery life.
Samsung really stepped up the battery department here, um, so if you're someone who really wants better battery life on these phones without phones, this is I mean, I think that's probably the best update they made this year. I would have liked to see faster charging here, but this one charges at 45 watts. The Note 10 plus actually charges at 45 watts as well. But many people want to know if the battery life is significantly better. I think it's definitely better and like I said, really surprisingly better. I think you'll be surprised how good the battery life is on this phone, but other than that.
All of these phones have wireless charging. All of these phones have reverse wireless charging and these phones can get around six hours of screen time. I actually did a battery drain test, um, yeah, so these phones do a decent job when it comes to battery life, but this is definitely a real improvement when it comes to battery performance, so which sums up the comparison pretty well, you know, um, I think it's a pretty good update depending on what you're doing on your phone, if you're not really doing much on your phone, you're not like a hardcore user, I would say wait. even the s24 ultra um, I think it will be a little better.
Update for you because these phones feel very close to each other, but let me know what you think and I'll see you in the next one.
