S20 Ultra vs 11 Pro Max - Real Differences after 1 Week!

Jun 01, 2021
In this video I will skip the specs and focus on the

real

world

differences

after switching from my beloved iPhone 11 pro max to the s20

ultra

for a

week

and I must say that there are two specific reasons that make me

real

ly want to continue using Samsung and finally get rid of Apple, which I'll talk about in a moment. This was the first phone I've used the case on in many years. I hate using cases because it covers up the amazing build quality and makes them that much more attractive. Unfortunately, thicker and heavier, even though the s20

ultra

is taller and thicker than the 11pro max, the camera bump is even thicker and not only does the phone sit very crooked on a desk, but when holding it in my hands, the camera kept cutting my finger. module which doesn't happen with my iPhone or the Note 10 plus, it was also virtually impossible not to leave fingerprints on the camera while holding it horizontally, which is not a problem with most new phones.

I got used to the large size surprisingly yes. but after going back to the 11pro max, the phone seemed so thin and small, something I thought I would never say about it. The auto brightness is stupid, maybe it's just because it's been a

week

but it's constantly too dark or sometimes. too bright, while the iPhone works fine most of the time. I also missed Face ID, it just works so well and is so fast that most of the time I don't even notice it. I mainly used the fingerprint sensor, but I also tried the face and lock for a day, of course it is not as secure, but I wanted to see if it is just as convenient and it is not.

More Interesting Facts About,

s20 ultra vs 11 pro max real differences after 1 week...

You have more options, but it takes longer to unlock your phone, especially in low lighting conditions, and sometimes it doesn't work. Fortunately, the fingerprint sensor has improved a lot since the S 10 and Note 10. It works fast and almost always, but it's still not as convenient as Face ID. I especially missed it for authentication and apps or websites where Face ID is just automatic now the screen is beautiful especially in 1440p mode it's really nice for watching movies honestly best phone ever and definitely Trump is the one iPhone 11 Pro max first. I love having the 1440p option on YouTube which is noticeably more detailed than 1080p, next up is HDR this is the first time HDR has shown a huge and significantly noticeable difference compared to good quality SDR on a phone and it's really impressive and clearly better than the iPhone, not only that but the speakers are also a bit louder.

Glad to hear it. that Samsung has really stepped up the Spieker game in the last two years. I usually run the iPhone at about 90%, but the s20 was fine at 70% and in those cases where you have a quiet video or are in a loud room and want to share a video with the extra volume. It's very nice to have the only downside to the speakers is that you actually feel the phone case vibrate when you're running above 70% which could be annoying if you do. I'm watching the long video while the iPhone is solid even at maximum but of course it doesn't sound as loud.

I also love the split sound settings and the mode that allows notifications to come through the phone and not the Bluetooth speaker you're connected to. I really wish my iPhone had these features along with other Android features like pictures and images, YouTube videos, Chromecast controls and notifications that stay in the top bar until I delete them so I don't forget things. Now the main feature of the screen is that 120 Hertz combined with fast animations and man I love it. I especially love it when scrolling through websites where the lack of motion blur looks great and coming back to my iPhone it feels so slow and sluggish, now there are downsides and it's not. just the battery life which of course is affected, if you are using 120 Hertz you have to be in 1080p mode and I must say I did notice it, if it was a five and a half inch screen I may not have have noticed, but being that this thing is almost 7 inches, you can clearly see it, especially in the text, now the other drawback, of course, is the battery life.
This is the first time in a long time that I have had to recharge every night, which I have only ever had to do. on my pro max, if I forgot to charge it the night before, I would have to say that for my usage pattern and my background apps there is a difference of about two hours of screen on in 120 Hertz mode and that is using the optimized power default. mode and without the always-on display, if you have never experienced the freedom of not having to worry about the battery life that the iPhone 11 pro max offers, you may not understand it, but it is amazing and to have the top again off. during the day or night is more important than I expected once I knew I had to turn off the phone anyway, I switched to high performance mode and turned on the always-on display, a feature I personally really like and want . that my iPhone had even if it used extra battery.
I really wish Samsung had the iPad pro promo technology where it could jump from 120 Hertz to 60 or even 24 Hertz depending on what you're doing, which really helps. Save battery, most of our YouTube videos are at 24fps and in that case the GPU and display have to produce five times more frames than necessary, unnecessarily draining that battery. Hopefully, the iPhone 12 will have the iPad's promotional technology and to the max. resolution too and now let's move on to what I probably love the most and where I noticed the biggest difference between my iPhone 11 Pro Max and the s20 ultra and that is the data speeds and reception.
Samsung has been ahead of Apple and LTE speeds for a while now I loved the note 10 but the s20 ultra takes it to a whole new level now it depends on what carrier you use and where you live but I used t-mobile and they have the sub 6 5g all over the US, this is not incredibly fast millimeter wave 5g, but it penetrates buildings better. I often got one or two more bars with the s 20, which is great, but what's even better are the speeds that were routinely 2 to 3 times faster than my iPhone during this test. I got the fastest speed I've ever seen on my iPhone, which was 65 megabits per second download, but in that same scenario the s20 got 162 and the download speed was 49 instead of 19 in the previous test where my iPhone got 25 and the Samsung got about 95. and during peak hours with lower reception, the Samsung got 27 megabits per second, while my iPhone got 9.
These are just speed test numbers, so what does this mean in terms of speed? The real world? Well, actually, when I use LTE, I often have to. I limit YouTube videos to 720p or else I get pauses, while Samsung seamlessly put them back to 1440p. The initial buffering of videos is almost unnoticeable with the s20, where I have to wait on my iPhone. You also notice a difference when loading websites and if you are downloading apps and other media and this is especially noticeable if you are constantly in steel or concrete buildings or basements and could ultimately make the difference between having a signal or not having one.
I really, really hope we get 5g. option in the next iPhone 12 and if we don't make at least a much better modem because the difference is huge and for some people this difference alone is enough to change brands, another notable difference is the call volume and the s20 ultra is definitely quieter because a problem if the person on the other side doesn't speak very loudly. I found myself constantly trying to press the phone too deeply into my ear and trying to turn up the volume to make sure it's all the way up and I think that might be because of this. the little speaker is hidden inside the frame here now, like on the cameras.
I really enjoyed using the note store camera, but the s20 ultras made me lose and the iPhone there are two important features: the 108 megapixel main camera and the 100 times zoom, but just the fact that we have these great specs to showing off doesn't mean they actually work well. I must say that the autofocus is rubbish. I haven't seen this poor performance in many years, if ever. The new sensors inside the s20 ultra are much larger than before, but it also has far fewer in-focus pixels, so it's slow to focus and hunts randomly, while The iPhone is lightning fast, smooth and precise, this means that although we have some advantages in real quality, if the shot fails and you are out then what's the point now with good lighting?
I love the 48 megapixel zoom lens which has much more detail, but since it lets in much less light at F 3.7 in medium and low lighting, the quality is worse than Apple's 12 megapixel 2 times. cropped zoom, which is effectively a 6 megapixel image, there are also major limitations for portrait shots and videos, and after testing the video to K, I have to say that it is just a marketing ploy and in many cases the iPhone's 4k video It looks better than this one. 8k there's a lot more to talk about in terms of camera performance both good and bad so I'll have to save that for the full detailed s20 ultra review so make sure you're subscribed now the other thing I loved and What made me want to change brands is the edge with the 11pro.
I often try to reopen something I was doing half an hour ago, say, and find it closed and have to restart it. This is very annoying, especially for apps where you have a video open. or a document, I never once had this problem with the s20. I routinely opened apps the next day and everything was as I left it at one point I had 18 apps running and I opened the oldest one on the list, which was cool and fine. As I left off 18 hours ago, Apple please stop barely increasing your RAM, especially if you're adding more football features that use more.
Overall, how was the experience of switching? Honestly, with Samsung it was great, definitely more so. positive than negative and I wish I could change, but I can't. The iPhone has good hardware, but it's the software that really sells it. I missed iMessage and other things like airplay which is better than Chromecast. I missed checking the airdrop continuity on my Apple TV. and, of course, my Apple watch, which I loved. I found that some things about football just didn't work as well as voice recognition for texting, and I really missed that Siri could read my messages out loud and let me reply to them hands-free. are the things that still keep a lot of people stuck on the iPhone, but if Apple doesn't continue to innovate and try to keep up with things like 5g RAM and having faster refresh rates on the screen, then it may have to take the plunge and go ahead. to Android, let me know what you think below and click the circle above to subscribe and see our full review and if you want to see our detailed photo or video comparisons, they are right there, this has been the ultimate Max technology and I'll see. in the next video
