shape a piece of metal. Try shaping a piece of clay. Look how difficult it is. See what you end up with. So metal. It's just amazing. Imagine that you made your fuel. tank too, yes I did, can we open it and see? Yes, I grabbed my Zeus tool. Oh, okay, so the fuel tank is aluminum and then of course we wrapped it in leather just to dress it up a little bit. Yes, storage. the slave cylinder Oh, for the tank, okay, yeah, and then the rest of the pedal group, of course, is underneath, now the wiper up and down is that kind of homage to yeah, the old racing days LeMans again, also functionally it's what worked best with the amount of space it was actually very difficult to get everything to fit and work and it's difficult to get everything to fit, you know, it's just amazing to me if they used Phillips screws back in the day, would you?

You know? I'm not one hundred percent sure I had a flat head in there and in fact my client preferred to have Phillips so yes I swapped them out but I couldn't answer that for sure. Yeah, I remember they had to blow it up because I remember going to something I was an old German and he was making sure every flat head screw was turned exactly and he would take it out and put a washer on it to tighten it so they would all be in sync, yeah, a the long, yeah, I mean, that's that kind of thing that's fun.

More Interesting Facts About,

runge cars jay leno s garage...

You know, that's what makes me laugh about Jimmy. I was on the Autobahn, so my wife and I came to this town, you know, and there's a clock from the 11th century there and a church and we timed them as 14th century there and at 12 o'clock there's wolf one oh at the same time you know in other countries the hands are all broken but in Germany it's very fun that's very fun guys very cool and the seat panels are also amazing yeah it's very simple but I think it fits well. of the era we wanted to capture with this design and they are also quite comfortable, so is there any heat involved in bending this metal?
runge cars jay leno s garage
Is it simply a matter of shaping it with the wheels? You know, I cold form most of my metal, but it can be annealed, which increases the hardness. Aluminum comes with a hardness factor of 14 h0, so if you anneal it, it goes down to zero and then it's more flexible and easier to form, so a lot of guys will know if they're going to do it. Do this in one piece, well you probably couldn't do it in one, but in larger sections in individual panels, you do a lot of annealing as you make it, you know, you shape it, it hardens and then you anneal it back down again, like this which I guess this car took longer to make than that one oh yeah yeah yeah a lot longer yeah that's because of the complexities of the top mm-hmm and through this whole section of the roof there's a cage too tubular steel anti-roll that I built first. with the chassis guy just beautiful, I mean your attention falls in so many places, there are so many little details throughout all of this that are really fantastic, how about we make this a mainstay here?
runge cars jay leno s garage
Yeah, that was tricky because it's steel underneath and then I had to wrap it by hand. with aluminum because it's not really a shape that can be formed directly on a machine, so yes, it's hand-wrapped and then welded into place. This trick, yeah, I mean, there are so many places where the average person just runs their eyes. because it's so complex that you don't even realize no boy, just great, just great, yeah, that's one of the things that the owners of these and who buy them from me text me weeks and months later and they're, yeah You know, sitting in their

garage

. looking at it and they're like I just noticed this little detail and it's so cool you know it's kind of a continuous process that really scares you and you have glass here yeah it was tricky to make the exterior not so bad. but the inside edge is not identical from one side to the other, so I had to hammer and hand weld them into pieces to make it fit when the windows were open, you can see up there or when the casings were open.
Yes, did anyone do this? period with that, I always remember even being straight, you know, like vents of some kind to get the heat out, yeah, everyone says your idea is 100% safe. When I imagined this construction from my sketches, I drew it like this. I know just stagnating will sometimes change things as we go, but yeah, you know when I'm making these cutouts I'm going to place different shapes on this paper so it looks the way it looks, just like I'm laying out the layout you know I have. This shape is in mind, but a lot of times we put paper in a step back, look at it and see how it turns out with the curves because everything really comes to life when you shape this shape of the windows really glued together. with the cooling, this parcel tray underneath seals when you close it, so all the cooling is funneled through these, so you have these inner tubes that are aluminum.
I thought they were clean by venting the air downwards. to the engine because I think BMW in 1938 made a coupe that is similar, this kind of looks like the BMW kidney front, you know, that's what the brand and the food reminded me of, Amelia, it sure was a car Great looking 328 coupe, but it didn't. I have doors with golden wings, but again I remember the whole era when I look at this. It's at Porsche. I see some BMWs. I see, but surprisingly, all Germans. Yes. I don't see any Engel. Nothing seems English to me. Here everything looks very. very German, which is interesting mm-hmm, do you think that's because of your roots or I guess why is this genetic?
You know, yeah, yeah, it's interesting. There are a couple of things when I was a kid. I was attracted to German

cars

, Porsches, the 914. You know, when I was 7, I remember seeing it and thinking I could drive forwards and backwards, you know, and then I saw the 911, so there's that part, my name. Runge, German history. Ganga is a cart or a builder with wheels. It was in the 13th century, so maybe it's in my blood. I don't know, it could be. I mean, I have no idea how those things work, but yeah, it's funny how that is.
So the name means right wheel, yes, yes. a cart, right, yeah, don't you just love those bras? They are so cool, yes, easy, yes, it's the best. Hold anything, well, I think it's time to grab a variety. You say yes, it sounds good, very good, okay, yes, and the passenger side. Very good, they are really wonderful. First, my closet. Alvin. Toffler inspired that the package is accurate, he really can't stand this error. 4,500 thought the end was a short box like 60 miles per hour and you're barely making progress.
I tell you they can look at the mailbox, but you have the windshield area that Lamborghini Aventador I always liked the idea that it felt like a time capsule based on those things, yeah, yeah, so it takes you back to an era, you know, in a way, for everyone, are you running these things with fresh air, yes, the oil, I know? Old Brother Franklin runs around on his bullshit, you know, it would be better if he put a gold touch on every car and get in it and make it run right. A big challenge, but yes, I fight with such satisfaction, so what's the latest?
We are working right now on the artist and then I am working on something completely new: the r2 is the longer wheelbase, the modern suspension, the nine eleven, the air cooled engine, write a carbon spec for someone, but that respect or if you're doing that for Vamos, it's a commission, so I came up with the concept. A client talked to me about how we could make that design work. It's going to be a machine. Have you started that new invoice and are still working with REM? The brakes are ready for the coach boys we have. a little girl we talked on the phone but I never had Raveena lily I think I would be impressed with you if you were a client 1 and you would paint would you paint them or not?
Yes, I think that's how it would be. You know, you know. a little warmer air, anti-glare rate. Maybe I would do something. You have been something designed. You know, if people don't remember their own designs and you say. Yes. I get all kinds of questions about different things. Do you know when? I'm just starting out, you know, like I said before, I've never considered myself an artist, you get hungry from time to time, but you have to stay true to your passions, that's the reason I started doing this, you know, I put everything into it. from my part. my efforts on something I'm not going to be excited about, I mean there are some fantastic, horrible

cars

for the 30's, rich people want this and I want this that when it arrives looks horrible, I know that and there are a handful of designers I mean, even the best designers, they didn't always achieve it, no, but when you look at a certain scene, like a Coleman zipper one day or even the latest Excalibur, the phrase Excalibur generation was not bad, yes, it looked like an SSK continues with the fenders, all the wheels with a higher ratio, adorable, oh yes, and it becomes body, yes, they are trying to catch up to find the best option, oh, that's the stressful aspect of being someone who builds it, I mean, it's like going up. with a successful record and you have to come up with another one and another Oh, it's a goal, I mean, I want to do that, I want you to know, big cars that look good, the driving is right, like an idea we somehow set an era .
You were like I know you're big on the story of I love researching, we thought what was the broth or what was it, I'll tell the customer's story through the invoice, you know, that's cool, it's fun to drive a car that you made yourself and that. You were very nice and then how can people who contact you give us a website again? Yes, my website is Runge cars.com. Okay, spell, are you at GE? Alright Chris, thanks a lot lad for you, it's really great to meet young people doing this kind of work and it's good to see this continuing.
