game

, due to how bad the AI pathfinding was, it wasn't a very useful unit, however now the pathfinding issues are, by comparison, absolutely non-existent. Let's use this crazy strategy and unleash your true potential as ladies and gentlemen. We are beginning a new campaign like none other than the charming Scythian

horse

lords I know.

More Interesting Facts About,

rome total war is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits excluding overpowered horse archers...

It's going to be amazing apparently the difficulty of this faction is hard this is a lie this is going to be an absolute walk in the park and without further ado ladies and gentlemen make sure you sit back, relax, have a nice hot cup of tea in front of you as we're about to

perfectly

balance rome total war remaster and hey, if you're feeling especially awesome, you can even like this video now, the thing is that you have to imagine that in most modern strategy games there are many factions that They have a whole. There are a lot of units and all of those units have strengths and weaknesses.
rome total war is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits excluding overpowered horse archers
Modern strategy games might say they have heavily armored tanks that are great at dealing with infantry; However, when faced with a long-range artillery barrage, they are not as strong as most strategy games. the rock, paper, scissors strategy in which each unit is strong for one unit and weak for another type of unit to the point that exists in Rome, total war. Spears are good for dealing with

horse

s, but horses are good for dealing with infantry and infantry are good for dealing with. with spears and

archers

are good at ruining everyone's day except horses, because horses absolutely destroy

archers

, but what happens if you combine the two most powerful unit types in this game into one very fast guy?
rome total war is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits excluding overpowered horse archers
Well that's what the people of Syphia have done, ladies and gentlemen, since their entire army is pretty much just made up of ranged units, they sure have access to these guys here, the band of archers, an 80 strong group. guys that cost 170 gold a turn, they are terrible at fighting in close quarters, but hey, they got a really strong missile attack at a decent range, but why do you have a band of archers when you can have horse archers instead Scythians, ladies and gentlemen, Scythian horse archers are exactly the same except for one very important difference: they are on horseback, which is extremely fast and hardly cost gold to maintain, yes, there are fewer of them, but it doesn't matter, besides, because we are playing with arcade battles, ammo depletion makes no difference and the reason we're playing with arcade battles is just to show how stupidly

overpowered

this faction is now, the thing is, the entire syphilis list is basically just riders, they're variations of different types of horses, a couple of archers and then just peasants or some guy holding an axe, basically meaning if you were to face an entire Roman army in one on one combat, you're going to lose no matter what.
Whatever happens, however, the Scythians don't have to follow the rules because their entire army is designed according to a meme concept that takes the classic playbook of Roman history. Take it out the window and just take a look at the horses at 700 miles per hour firing arrows at the very slow moving infantry. It's absolutely incredible now that we need to get our economy up and running very quickly, but the most important thing is that our entire empire needs roads, because if you can Believe it, there are no roots on this land, we didn't have time to build any, apparently we are very barbarians uncivilized, but hey, okay, we have to build the roads and that should make our economy work at the same time.
I'm going to start moving units from around the empire towards our main capital area. Our focus as an empire will be entirely on what is west of us. Here we have a lot of Romans playing in Italy. We've got some British guys in chariots, we've got some Germanic berserkers, we've got whatever the Dacians are, if you get this far you've got the French and the Spanish as far as our real threats in this game, technically the biggest threat that any of them are. What we must face are the Greek cities down here the reasoning is simple the Greeks are designed to fight perfectly against cavalry they have long and gigantic spears however those long and gigantic spears move at the same pace as a snail that is very drunk basically what it means they can be completely crushed and I'm going to finish our first turn and hopefully if I can give me a diplomat we should be able to carry out our monetary maneuver to completely fix our economy oh my god this is how our first natural enemies start . out of the game with two settlements, gettier campus here and then a capital building down here and naturally they have decided to basically abandon their city, they have left only the air of the faction in there and consequently the whole city is in riots, Instead, they've moved everything. of their defending forces outside the city oh my god, what are they doing right?
I was considering trying to pull a stunt to make money off of them, but instead I think we actually have a better plan for our diplomat, let's go. Come and meet the Dacians, but seeing if they've left their entire army outside the city, I think it's time for a lovely general to start a welcoming maneuver, oh my goodness, have we run out of moves? Oh, we're just out of moves, seriously, oh God. well fortunately in this region there are fracy and mercenaries because we are going to need to hire them because these frey scene mercenaries have to advance in an attack terrain because none of these people can, but yes, the frasian army is actually relatively weak. a militia hoplite unit, some unarmed guys and yes, it should be another complete walk in the park.
Oh, they haven't actually returned to the city, the army is just running away, okay, they're just leaving the city with a single militia. Faction airborne cavalry. It seems like this city is going to die. Now we're only going to be able to build one ram, but that's okay because we only have one unit that can push a ram and we'll also bring. our reinforcement army and hell, we actually have some money so maybe we start investing in our economy, believe me, we are going to need it now. The point is that many of our settlements are garrisoned by bands of archers here and the point is this.
The Tomato Campus settlement here is never going to be attacked, no one in their right mind is going to attack this trash province that basically makes no money, so what are we going to do right? Let's get rid of the bands of archers that garrison. we don't really need them and instead we are slowly going to exchange them over time for these barbarian peasants who only cost a hundred per ton to maintain and can still maintain greater public order at a much cheaper cost than Next time I will attack this settlement. In fact, I'm sending one of my archery units back to the cipher campus just to deal with any law and order issues and I think it's time we attack this city.
They only have two units defending it. but it is a perfect time to demonstrate our skills, especially since we can choose to fight a night battle, ladies and gentlemen, oh yes, now we are going to demonstrate exactly why horse archers are completely and utterly stupid as in today's battle, I am pretty sure. We should be able to manage zero casualties now that this is a lightly defended settlement, basically meaning we can just approach the main gate and take it well, we're starting to break down the main gate, here we go, that was nice and easy, basically meaning that our masters have done all their work so we can just escort them back because I mean, it's not like we're really going to use lightly armored men who look like goblins and gnomes to fight our battles, I'm serious, if you look at the fracy and mercenaries, I mean, they look brilliant, but they also look like a garden gnome in a leopard skirt because that's exactly what they are, anyway, the enemy units have decided to hide out in their only campus, effectively, in the square of the town, which is fine, that's completely.
Well, it just means that we need to use some creative mechanics to actually win this battle, so we're going to get all the horses through the main gate, we're going to line up our general probably around here, and then we're going to have a bunch of archers. horse archers sit behind him now, the main reason why horse archers are so powerful is for a very simple reason: horse archers can shoot while moving, which means they can retreat and shoot at the same time. , which makes them very spicy anyway. We have three squads of horse archers here and our heavy cavalry bodyguard generals, oh friend, they are throwing spears at my head, general, okay, general, get out of there, the Scythians, do your thing, we have forced them out from the town square, so, it's time. so we just run through the city streets dodging all this missile fire, so get out of here my friends, you can move and shoot, they can't use it to their advantage.
I want to go to the horses, go ride like the horses of the wind, okay? We're currently taking most of their army on a merry goose chase through the city streets at high speed, we'll cause ourselves some traffic jams, which is fine, we can, we can live with some traffic jams in the meantime, while they chase us, we can simply Use this other group of cavalry to take the town square and that will force them to retreat immediately. It's a little complicated, but this fight is going very well, as you can see when these horses run past, they can do it too. damage to these units oh my god this is such a silly fight okay we're still being chased by the generals bodyguard here but it should be fine we'll take them on a lovely happy goose chase and I think we found a way to flank our enemies from behind, okay guys, shoot that general, here we go, we just turn this corner and he will follow us around this corner and then he will follow us all the way down this street or while we shoot him while running in the opposite direction, it really is that simple, we just run this way, he is slower than us and we shoot him once we retreat, it is a perfectly

balanced

way to fight, believe me ladies and gentlemen, very fair, very, very Fair enough, these are the general's heavily armed bodyguards. normally it's an absolute nightmare to kill, but no, not today, ladies and gentlemen, because we have a lot of arrows, you know, the boss charged at him, he took this guy down, he's probably basically out of health.
Murder, hit the general, here we come, the enemy. The general is dead, it's a lovely thing and I think it's a victory. We should be able to defeat them with just a quick charge from our general. We might take the occasional hit, some friendly fire, but it will be worth it. There we are going to kill them, break them. There we go, now they are very sad, oh come on, we clearly won the battle. Well, they managed to kill eight men and we inflicted two friendly fire casualties, so in total they only lost 10 people. I would say it was worth it for a city and there we are.
Come on, that settlement is now ours, we are going to enslave it and send the population throughout our empire. There we're just going to improve a little bit of everything at the same time, in campus encryption, we're going to start training some peasants. because they are going to make up the main garrison force of our empire and we are also going to want to build a combination of merchants and land clearing in most of our cities because the more population will allow us to earn the more money through trading and believe me, the most Otherwise our economy is going to be pretty pathetic, but there we have it, that's our first settlement and now our adventures are only going to continue.
This is what our army basically needs to immediately get out of Zapotes, so I'm goingto send this army marching south, as well as this army to follow it, although in reality we could use some mercenaries, as they say, a unit of peasants from the capital and just reduce the capital to a high tax rate, here we go. that will solve our problems temporarily, okay let's go south, if we take this settlement we will remove the phrase from the game, although I think from the looks of it there is a chance that they have already captured Byzantium, although I would be surprised because that is in the hands of a large number of rebels, otherwise the rest of our empire looks relatively good, they are not rebelling right away, which is always a good sign now it seems like your city is basically only defended by your new faction after the last faction had died and a lot of pale evidence, which should mean this will be a completely different walk in the park anyway, next time we take down phrasing capital, it should be a pretty nice walk by the park, it's really okay and now we're just going to proceed with this deal here, there's a chance they actually do it, oh my gosh, wait, the spies opened the doors, oh well, I guess we don't even need to do the siege, so now it is defended by an air faction with a large number of heavy cavalry as well as two groups of peltastas missile units, however, they are all going to die, oh, could you see that the gates really are wide open?
Well, let's form three groups of horse archers and approach the door, since we can see that there are some people. tests here, but the pedal tests I'm pretty sure they can't hit us for quite a while, they don't have much range if I remember correctly, whereas we should be able to shoot them from right here, so this is where it's fun. begins when the power tasks are going to validly defend this door, however they simply cannot survive, oh and if you look, they are immediately fleeing, chase them men, chase them, get close to the walls once again, the advantages of being able of shooting while moving and that you can relocate to a better position and continue harassing there we go while they retreat, their numbers have been reduced to 54 beautiful things.
Now we're going to capture this city and move to this area here where we should be able to once again bomb these lovely power tests as we walk into the city and yes, that's exactly what's going to happen because look, we can fire on these buildings, these Guys can't shoot over buildings, but we can, oh. Yes, and it doesn't matter that you have a flimsy wooden shield because we have a lot of guys with horses. Oh, could you see them coming to try and greet us? Oh my God, look. Plus, they think they can really put up a fight.
Is incredible. Look at the bravery they have. Actually, this is a great opportunity to raise more cavalry and now that they are starting to approach, do you know what we do? immediately retreat, get the horse boys out of there before they can launch a volley, there will be no casualties today my friends, oh yes, and now we have two more sets of horses here, perfect stuff, rest in peace, proof of pearls, well, here we go. That's all pale dead tasks, so now we just watch our lovely horse cavalry cheer up the general's bodyguard a bit and the generous bodyguard has a ton of hit points, making him very difficult to kill anyway.
I think it's time we do it. engage in the operation with a super cheesy strategy, since what we can do is we can probably force all of these units out of the main point using just one blatant tactical maneuver and this blatant maneuver is one that I like to call being right here, across a paved road and eating arrows towards the main square because the peltasts can't defend themselves ah yes, perfectly

balanced

. Could you look at this now? Of course the enemy general will know that something like this is happening so the enemy general is trying to relocate us so they can actually fight us, however that just means we have fled and the enemy general has to try to chase us down so unless you think you have to and we have even more cavalry approaching. behind the enemy general's rear doing a little extra damage and then we can just scare these guys away actually the general doesn't know which way to go he's completely conflicted oh these poor men oh the general is trying to chase us well, okay, we just ran away and the parachute was running we lost a cavalry boy, maybe two cavalry boys, I can't say, but yeah, we're out of there, now the Benny Hill thing can get involved while the general's bodyguard unit is going on a rampage Absolutely wild, oh look. this poor general this guy has no idea what to do meanwhile we're starting to get the point now uh and killing this pale evidence around the corner we go again oh the enemy general's dead rest in peace all the time We continue the merry goose chase, here we go, everyone is dead, they killed seven of us, there were some friendly fire incidents, but I would say they killed seven of us so we could kill 200 of them, which is Feels like a pretty fair exchange, oh.
God the guys on horses are so memey now this is it ladies and gentlemen the end of the sentence we have managed to get our spy to the settlement and guess what opened the gates which means we can fight a glorious battle and you know what? We will do this during the day. We just defeated most of Freycine's army that was in a field battle because for some reason they decided that if they took an army of equal size against the horse cavalry, they could defeat it. Lo and behold, they only killed eight. men and lost all their heavy infantry, but yeah, honestly I don't even know why I bother sending infantry with any of these armies when I can have a giant fleet of spies running around opening all the gates anyway, the settlement should be nice and easy to enter.
I'm going to select three squads of horse archers and just have them line up in front of the main gate and then behind those horse archers, I'll have another group of horse archers and then behind that. horse archer I'll have one more group of horse archers, everything will be horse archer, okay and now the shooting can begin, all this lovely missile cavalry that can't even shoot. Oh, poor sausages, poor sausages. I'm just going to group all the cavalry together like this, you know what you're sure to do? Now the thing is that these two militia cavalry units here are basically told by the AI to defend this gate, however, they can't actually defend the gate. because when they are here they are simply killed by arrow shots there are almost none of them left oh dear oh dear oh dear okay let's do a test maneuver now ladies and gentlemen let's move one of our horse archers squads inside the door and hopefully this should trigger the AI to do something, potentially this will make them try to relocate some infantry to actually come fight us, alternatively nothing will change, well this gives us an advantage because there are a lot . of militia hoplite lancers here whom I want to see killed because they are a threat to the horses, so let our boys come on horseback, since we are going to greet the natural counterattack of a horse, a very long and pointed stick, however, just counterattack a horse. who wants to fight hand to hand and who would want to fight hand to hand when you can just shoot lightly armored spearmen in the back, chase them down, don't let them retreat, they have their back turned to you which means they are even weaker. them all the way to the town square, come on, come on, come on, come on, yeah, well, well, oh, actually we ran into the back of the experiment, don't fight melee, don't be soft, fight, that that's bad, that's really bad, just shoot them like normal, perfect. our advantage oh, I think this is the end of the little jump lights, rest in peace little hoplites, it seems that they are actually going to send me a heavy cavalry bodyguard to try to deal with the mischief I am creating and that is well because of course heavy cavalry can't keep up with light cavalry and besides these are Scythian horse archers, some of the fastest in the game, I mean just look at how well we swarm and can double the corners, here we go.
We're running down the alley, yeah, perfect, I can see the general, he's one of the two remaining guys and he's dead, here we go, of course, that's one of the generals dead, just a few more to go. Okay, now we deal with one of the sets of hoplites at this gate, we have 18 random hairy guys with spears, so we'll just stay here and kill them and then I think we'll approach the north gate, where once again we have a few more hoplites, but anyway it's time for these power tests to die before they can launch any of their pesky missiles, we'll just do a passing maneuver here and there we go, everyone's perfect, okay, now we'll have a squad of cavalry. come up this flank and another squad come to this flank and then we'll see if we can turn off the militia jump lights on both sides oh my god, the jump lights are moving the militia hoplites are moving good, perfect, This is a great opportunity, it also looks like they are carrying the remains of a group of militia hoplites towards us, which is also fantastic news, oh look, they are holding a small defensive formation, oh, and they are fleeing now that they are not they are running. away, can you decide what you're doing? little militia jump lights oh these poor little militia hoplites there's only four of them left rest in peace my friends rest in peace you certainly fought to the last man it's a shame you actually couldn't land any hits and in the meantime what?
How is this group of militia hoplites doing well? A similar story. um, there aren't many of them left, they can't decide what they want to do, if they want to fight or do. They want to try to run away and you know, take this again from a better, different angle and it'll just back off a little bit, let a few more volleys out of reach, these guys are absolutely crazy, oh my God, these poor little ones, these poor ones. The little ones got the worst job in the world, oh God, oh the poor militia hoplites, they're almost in range, look they're almost there, they're almost there, boys, oh, but wait, the horses just run away.
They will turn around and go back. They're broken, they're just standing there like, how could this have happened to us? oh, there's only eight of them left, oh, these poor little ones, these poor little ones, oh dear, it's all up to craig and dave and now it's just dave, oh dave. okay, Dave thinks coffee is better than t, so we won't miss him right now. I'm pretty sure it's basically just the general's bodyguards and some missile cavalry left, yeah, that's it, okay, let's do what we do best, old baity maneuver, but this time, from two separate angles , we're leading the general's bodyguard on a merry wild goose chase around the city's outer defenses and keeping him close enough that he thinks he has a chance of attacking us, but of course, in reality, he doesn't, let's just turn around. to this corner, these horse archers here are also recruiting five of the militia cavalry, which is perfect, come on, go around this corner, guys, you know what to do, just keep running away from that bodyguard general. we keep weakening him we are standing in the corner waiting for the general to come closer now there are only 18 men left oh my god this is perfect okay and the men alicia volley towards the general yeah okay good right now down the hallway go go go my man, oh geez, there are some horses in front of us outside the gates, men outside the gates, get out of the city we are now leaving, but now we can sit outside the gates and um, the enemy general will never set foot outside his own city.
So, this is the unattainable position. Oh, and look, the general's bodyguard is actually returning for another try. This is the real commander. He's one of the general's two bodyguard units left, but let's run down the hallway. There he goes, only the general left. he's the only one left of this unit and he's dead oh this is so stupidly

overpowered

there's only one unit left and it's a bunch of militia cavalry well let's do the old passing maneuver the horses just run past the town square and you horses, you can just run down here too, just attack them from both sides, really, ah, the perfect step, good luck, trying to find a counterattack for this ai and then we immediately move out of range, perfect , oh my God, this is so. asilly strategy and it works so well that there's only one unit left it's just craig, it's just craig ladies and gentlemen, you know you're having a really bad day at work when you're the last one left in a gigantic siege defense and so on Until now, you've barely killed any enemies oh dear and then you also have to deal with looking at this, it wasn't a good day for Craig, well that's a gg, they managed to kill 31 men which is a shame but oh well supposed.
It was mainly due to my negligence and my horse handling skills, but with that the entire Scythian faction is completely and absolutely destroyed and that made me think of a new strategy. What would happen if we got rid of the infantry completely? Because now that that phrase is gone, we managed to discover that basically all we needed to break into a city is a spy, so surely if we train enough spies we can break into almost any city, well here we are ladies and gentlemen, it's been a lot times and somehow I destroyed the daisy and I have a kind of I just sat there waiting for the inevitable to happen, the inevitable is that we actually build our main capital city, the Syfia campus, to the level where we can train mega troops, What kind of mega troops are we talking about, ladies and gentlemen, what are we talking about? the amazing scythian noble archers now when you look at them and compare them to normal horse archers there isn't much difference an extra missile attack a little more morale a little more defense a lot more armor the biggest difference is that these units of course , they have a decent melee attack, but more importantly an increased range of 170.
But the thing is, a base syphia noble archer alone is not a very powerful eight-missile attack. Sorry, but that's pretty weak or rather it's pretty standard, however, we have built a blacksmith and a level 3 shrine, consequently, it means that our noble syphia archers are actually using 12 missile attacks. They have a armor of 10, a total defense of 16 and a melee attack of 14. These guys are awesome, yes they actually cost a bit more money. We're keeping it, but we're deploying an all-cavalry army and the thing is, it's going to work because cavalry armies move faster than infantry armies, which means these units are heading south to deal with some Greeks. who have recently just taken Byzantium, the Greek.
The army consists of exactly what you'd expect to completely and absolutely counter an army made up of horses. Archers, they're a bunch of angry spear guys, but let's remind this game that no matter how hard they try, everything can be completely exploited. , oh yeah, and one of the Greek armies wants to fight me independently of the other, perfect, oh. Yes, this is going to be a big battle, say hello to the main army of the Greek city led by Captain Xanthia. A Brandon guy with no leadership skills. He is deploying an army of hop lights. Infernal tests, more hoplites, more pellet tests, a couple of missile cavalry. some very heavily armed hoplites, but most importantly, some pathetic normal noodle archers.
Now this is what normal archers have the same range as our standard cyphion horse archers, in comparison our cyphion noble archers are true long range siege batteries and here you are ladies and gentlemen, The battle has begun dear God, they started at the top of a gigantic hill, well, okay, it's time for us to form our noble archers into groups, we will move them in groups of four and then we leave. Having our general and all the other slightly weaker archers running to the side, probably over here and towards the corner, we don't really want them involved in this fight, but as you can see, the standard range of one of our horses. guys this is so much in comparison the noble archers have incredible range however the Greeks have an advantage because they are sitting on a hill however they left a gap on that hill which of course we are going to exploit oh , could you look at that?
It looks like some of our first noble archers have their first shot available, so we'll have them line up here and see what we can do. Oh yes, now comes the fire, as you noticed. If one of these arrows hits these men, they die. Instantly, that's because these arrows are now much, much more powerful, even against armored hoplites, here with decent shields and defensive stats. You'll notice that they're starting to melt a little like butter, but the thing is, the AI doesn't really know how to do that. deal with an enemy who has so much advantage at range, so you've deployed all of his men in a slow-moving formation and, well, lo and behold, they're just going to limp toward our front line while they get shot at in front. . flanks yeah, they won't do too well, right, we're going to send a group of nobles around the flank to just get rid of them and we're going to start pulling back on this main front flank, yeah, now that we've got a shot on the side of these jump lights, this is where the fun can begin because as soon as we break their formation all of their defensive stats disappear as these guys are only armored as long as you look forward and now it looks like we just opened up a flank for everyone to my men can run up the hill and if we have the hill advantage on our side oh yeah well the damage from our shots is multiplied by ten oh I love having not only height but also a range advantage it is totally and absolutely balanced , we can sit out of range like an attack helicopter and just jump on their lovely shields and eventually these heavily armored death hoplites with a total defense of 22 will go down anyway, these poor limpers decided to show their back so everyone dies nice and simple, I really see that they have all these ranged units here like look at this, we have some archers, we have some power tests, but the problem is that they can't really attack us because they just don't have the range and now they don't either. they have the hill, oh my gosh, that's a set of heavily armored hoplites, some of the most expensive units in the game, they just died while it looks like the AI is sending More lovely hoplites approaching us on this hill which as we know, It's going to end very badly for them.
It seems like the AI is now completely reforming its entire army to try to lock us in which isn't going to work because we're just there. We're going to go around their flanks and shoot them from the rear, so there goes the shooting from the rear and the armored hoplites don't really know what to do and here we go, we're dealing with this mounted cavalry nice and easy if a shot hits a horse, he dies, it really is as simple as that. Oh, what a shame you only have a total defense of six. Imagine how difficult life must be.
It seems that the enemy general unit is about to fall and here we go. the enemy general bets that you are somewhat regretting your decision to resist and fight us, rest in peace o generalissimo, your poor army now has to try to climb the hill towards us with a sustained fire of arrows which, of course, They're not doing particularly well at the moment, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, it's just an endless stream of death into heavily armored hopper lights, ah, these poor poor armored hoplites, these units are very expensive and they're being absolutely cyberbullied like this, these are indeed incredible Spartans, some of the greatest.
Greek warriors known to man, but no, they died by arrow fire, as good as anyone else. I would say that overall this has gone extremely well for everyone involved, excluding the Greeks of course, it certainly didn't go very well for them and well. here we go we have clearly won the battle they managed to successfully kill 28 men we killed 1332 oh god the horses are so broken it's unfair and there you have it ladies and gentlemen this is how the kill pile is built syphilis, like it spreads. kill the phrase early, kill the dayunes, and then level your capital until you have a high quality blacksmith that gives you armor and greater missile weapons, as well as a shrine that gives you an incredible amount of experience recruited for everyone's troops Anyway, ladies and gentlemen.
